Men’s Underwear

Category

When I was coming up, back in the stone ages, jocks were still acceptable to wear to work out. It was not uncommon to see a guy in the locker room stripping down to his jock. Nowadays, jocks are rare to see in the locker room. There are a few reasons for this decline in the jock in the locker room. In sports (football, Baseball, and etc) you can see them.

The Rise of Compression gear

One reason the jock is no longer the underwear for working out is the rise of the compression gear. Brands like UA came onto the market and have done lots of research into keeping guys cool and giving them even extra support. I for one, when I do workout, prefer wearing compression gear on my legs. It makes recovery much faster.

This is one time where technological advancement has replaced an old school design. This isn’t a bad thing at all. New designs should improve on the pervious designs. One thing that is awesome in the UA line up is their jock. A spandex jock made for a protective cup. One of the best on the market.

Guys are wearing better underwear

When you look around the locker room, guys are starting to wear much better underwear. Underwear that has better pouches and fabric. This includes straight guys. UNB is the perfect example of that, we have 1/3 reading about underwear. This is further done by stores like Target carrying the Champion brand that is not the boring ill-fitting boxer briefs.

This is a trend we will see more of as the years go by. Guys are wanting underwear that is super comfy and reliable for every day and working out.

Are jocks completely gone?

There are still some old school guys who believe in wearing them. Guys who have higher impact workouts are more likely to wear jocks or something similar. Just lifting and cardio is not a reason for guys to wear them. I would recommend them for running, crossfit and other high impact sports. The support you get will be totally amazing.

If you wear jocks let us know or if you’ve never worn one! Just curious who out there wears them for working out and when.

First I want to thank all you guys who took part in our annual Readers Survey. Its first a lot of fun and second it really helps me drive content for the site for the coming year. This years survey was the biggest yet. In both questions and respondents. It was pretty awesome. We asked some new questions and some standard questions.

First, let’s talk about how big your..underwear collections are!

It was no surprise to me that most guys had 21-40 pairs. This I think is a good number that is manageable. However, the third place is guys with over 150 pairs. I wasn’t expecting so many to have this big of a collection. This leads to the question how do you guys organize your collections.

How often do you buy new underwear? I thought for sure the monthly or twice a month would be bigger. Most of you guys buy every few months. I’m more than confident it’s the price over the urge to shop. Buying new undies every month can add up. If it’s rent or undies, I would choose rent. You can always find deals on undies

Here are the first results. Each day we will bring you new results!

We have run some real guy pics but we always want more! Also, just because you submitted a pic doesn’t mean you can’t submit more pics. I think we have gotten great feedback about the Real Guy Brief Distractions. It’s showing how real men look in underwear. We may even have a real guy video review soon too! More on that later! Just fill out our form and we will get in touch

I need to dig in my underwear drawer and organize it and get them in order. I have let them get way out of hand. But I’m thinking I may need to change things up rather than doing what I am currently doing. Right now I have them organized by my favorites. The top drawer is my favorites, then second fav and then ok pairs. Then the others are in a tub in the closet. This has served me well but it’s not rotating the collection. Every so often I find a pair and go, “OH yeah I loved this pair.”

Here are the ways I”m thinking of organizing:

Organizing by Favorites

I’m lazy what can I say. Just keep things the way they are and go through the collection and put new favorites in the drawer and go through the older pairs and see what I discover. Sorta mix things up and still go by my favorite pairs. I mean it’s served me well for several years.

Organize by style

I know many guys like to organize by briefs, bikinis, thongs, jocks and such. It’s a great way to go through a collection and find what you need when you are in a mood to wear a certain pair. I could do briefs and bikinis in the main drawer, followed by Jocks, boxer briefs and thongs.

Organize by Brand

One I’m not big on is organizing by brand. I’d have to remember that Cocksox is in the top drawer and then Xtremen is in the bottom drawer. It seems like a lot of work to do by brand. I can easily sort style faster than brand. Plus putting away would be much faster by style or favorite.

Organize by color

This is one I have considered in the past. Color is very important to me and I love to wear bright bold colors. I can put my favorite colors in the top drawer and go down from there to my least favorite color.

Which do you think I should do? Which one do you organize your undies drawer by and what do you like about it? I’d love to hear from you guys.

Ergowear is one brand I love to wear. The one thing they were missing has been bright colors. Well wait no more the new collection has bright pink and yellow. Granted they aren’t colors for everyone but I think they are pretty hot! These new colors feature the Max pouch!

Don’t worry if you like the classic colors they are available in black and white as well.

I have recently dipped my toe back into the dating pond. I say dip rather than jump in head first. It’s nice to date but I don’t let it define who I am, and to be honest I don’t mind being singlet for the most part. I think it gets a bad wrap sometimes. And, I am not one of those people who has to constantly be with someone. I can be more of a loner and don’t mind quiet times at home.

A few weeks ago I had a first date. I always pick out underwear for the date. Because there is always a chance it maybe seen one way or another. Yes, I have gone on a first date and ended up spending the night. Hell, that’s how an ex and got started. But back to underwear. I try to wear something sexy but not over the top. Can’t scare them off at the beginning. Or at least if you don’t know how they feel about underwear.

This date I decided to wear something with a great pouch and of course made me feel great. I chose the Cocksox Sports brief. Mainly because it has a waistband. I didn’t think he would be able to see it over my pants but you never know. Second, the pouch is one of my favorites and it just makes me feel sexy.

Other times I have gone full on sexy and worn skimpy bikinis, sheer undies, jocks and more. It depends on my level of nervousness before the date. The more nervous I am the more likely it is I will wear a sexy pair on the first date. It’s one less thing to worry about. I know it will fit me and not give me any issues.

One rule I have about dates is no new underwear. Meaning no new brands or styles on a first date. I only go with tried and true undies. There is nothing worse than being distracted by the undies.Plus when they find out I run and underwear blog and are wearing annoying undies I do tend to lose some street cred on undies.

What is your philosophy about first date undies?  Oh as for my date, it turned out to be a one and done. Well on to the next date!

Along with the Neo Jocks, we also received a big shipment of our own JC Athletic Jocks and they are also once again fully back in stock – both 3 Inchers and Swimmers in black or white.

As you know by now, Jockstrap Central launched our own line of sports jockstraps last year. We did so, partly because it was always part of our bigger plan but partly because of the loss of Bike, Flarico and Activeman. We took our 12 years of experience wearing jockstraps and running Jockstrap Central to create what we feel is the ultimate sports jock. It was based on our favorite jocks with improvements like adding a soft inside to the waistbands and contouring the base of the pouch to eliminate the excess fabric found on most sports jocks. Well, the reviews are in and based on customer reactions and testimonials, our Classics are destined to become, well, classics. Here’s just a few of our customer’s testimonials:

“I love the JC athletic jock! I can’t believe how comfortable the pouch is, it’s soft right out of the box even before washing. I plan to get more of them in the future.” Dennis M, New York

“I got the jock yesterday and I’m wearing it today! It’s so soft and comfy. The waistband sits perfectly and doesn’t feel like it’s cutting into me. The pouch is soft and feels great on my junk. It’s a great jock!” – Chris W., Virginia

“As a working man, your new JC jock is the jock I’ve been waiting for someone to make all my life.” – Dave C, Montana

“Love your JC Athletics jocks! Great quality, durable and *amazing* fit” – John M, California

…along with a whole bunch of regular customers who bought one, wore it, loved it and immediately bought 5 and even 10 more.

So, if you haven’t already, now’s your chance to pick one up to try them for yourselves. Currently, we have either a 3 inch or Swimmer version and both come in either black or white. Although both have a plushed inside to the waistband it’s more apparent in the 3 Inch Jocks and finally, we hate the excess fabric at the base of the pouch of most sports jock so we contoured it more so simply fits and looks better.

Please note: all the new JC Athletic Jockstraps now have the back size and info label on the inside. True story: We initially put the label on the outside as it’s tradition with many sports jocks but during our Jock Nights on Thursdays, we found many of the dancers showing up on stage with our jock on inside out, so the label is now inside so there’s no confusion. Only the original stock we have have the tags on the outside.

So it’s been quite some time since we’ve seen anything “new” from our friends at Joe Snyder and likely for good reason. They produce a quality product with their customers in mind. Joe Snyder recognizes that their customer base wants swimwear and underwear that performs in all situations and they like to show it off! As such, they always ensure that their products can go from a boardroom meeting under your dress slacks to the boardwalk on the beach in the blink of an eye!

Joe Snyder has released three new products-a “Maxi Bulge Thong”, a “Joe Snyder V Neck”, and a “Joe Snyder Sheer Lounge Pant.” All three are designed with maximum comfort (and exposure) in mind and are sure to turn heads wherever you choose to wear them.

Their new line may be accessed at Joe Snyder and be sure to be on the lookout for reviews of the new styles soon! Let me know if you’ve already bought any and how you like them! And as always-pictures or it didn’t happen! We love to see our reader’s pictures wearing their favorite gear!

Pride month may be over but that doesn’t mean you can’t get in the Pride spirit with your underwear. Andrew Christian has the limited edition Love Digital Pride Brief. It’s in the colors of the rainbow and has LOVE on the waistband. It’s a really fun and eye-catching design.

Another thing about this pair. “. Andrew Christian donates a portion of all Love Collection underwear sales, as cash or production donation, to the various CHARITIES WE SUPPORT. Additionally, when you purchase a pair of any Love Collection underwear, you also have the option of paying-it-forward by giving an extra $1 donation to our community…and you get to choose where your money goes from ten different LGBTQ charity organizations.” Which is an awesome thing. We love it when  brands give back to the community.

One thing that is a BIG selling point for me is this is part of the Almost Naked line. The Almost Naked pouch is one of the best on the market. Mix the comfort of the pouch with the limited edition pride fabric and you have a win-win. You not only will be super comfy but look amazing while wearing them.

One more thing, if you go out on the town in this brief, the pair glows under black light. You can strip off the shirt and hit the dance floor knowing that the undies under your jeans will shine brightly for all to see. If you’re like me there is no shirtless dancing and no bar. But I would find a black light just to see it glow!

Get this pair before it’s too late.
