Andrew Christian furnished these pairs for review.  The opinions expressed are those of the reviewer.

Rating: 9.2/10 (Average of the ratings below)

  • Daily Fit: 9/10
  • Sizing: 9/10
  • Construction: 9/10
  • Styling: 10/10
  • Daily Performance: 9/10

Pros:

  • Awesome Almost Naked pouch that gives natural lift and support
  • A solid waistband for those who aren’t fans of waistband
  • Love the super hero feel of the pairs

Cons:

  • If you are a guy who likes prints, these are solid colors
  • They are sold in a three pack,

UNB Tim recommendation: I loved the color and feel of these briefs. They are super fun and held up really great throughout the day. I would recommend these for super hero fans or those who love bright colors in their undies.

It’s not everyday that we review a three pack on UNB. Usually most pairs that come in packs are ones you get at big box stores.  This is not one of those pairs.  The Superhero Boy Briefs.  They are a set of Almost Naked briefs in super hero colors. Meaning they are bright colors topped off with a contrasting waistband.  So those of you out there worried they are juvenile comic characters all over you undies l, you can relax.

This is what Andrew Christian had to say about the pairs

Look and feel as sexy as three superheroes in our 3 pack of Superhero Boy Briefs. A stylish, limited edition version of a classic boy brief, each pair has everything you love about all your favorite Andrew Christian styles – “hang-free” design and no hidden cups, straps, or padding, and a super soft snuggle pocket to create a truly enjoyable, unique wearing experience. Wearing them almost feels like you’re wearing nothing at all.

The briefs themselves are a pretty simple design. They don’t have the prints or wild cuts as other pairs.  Which for this line is perfect.  I think the more simple the design the better. I mean how many super heroes have patterned underwear?  Not many I would say.

I wore these pairs to work on three consecutive days. They fit great. The pouch is one of my favorite things.  Say what you will of Andrew Christian, the man knows how to make an amazing pouch. One that doesn’t show off too much but still gives plenty of support which is important for me.

Some things I really liked were the color combinations. They do mimic super heroes. Blue/Red, Black/Yellow and Red/Blue. If you aren’t a fan of branded waistbands. The Superhero Boy Briefs have a solid waistband with the Andrew Christian name woven in the band. This means it’s not noticeable. If anyone sees it, they will see a solid band.

Made out of a 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex blend. This fabric kept me cool all day and felt amazing. Wearing these to work was a good decision. I am not sure being a cotton blend I would wear them to the gym or working out. The pouch in these again are AMAZING.

The sizing for me in Andrew Christian has been spot on. I received an XL and it fit well. The important thing to do is make sure you look at the sizing chart. If you are on the boarder of a size go up a size jut to be safe.

I was talking to a friend this week and he told me that he wears boring underwear to work but fun stuff on weekends. This made me go “HUH?” This friend is not one that has to change at work or be in a position to have his coworkers see his choice of underwear. I inquired why he did this, he informed me that he wanted to focus on work and not undies.

This made me inquire more about that statement. He continued to say that he gets distracted when he wore “sexy” undie to work. This guy is a suit and tie junior executive type. I think it’s the feeling of being naughty. If he wore a thong he would feel the suit pants against his skin in the back. I asked what he wore, he said usually black trunks were his undies of choice to work.

This got me thinking, do we have readers who do this? I know we have a ton of guys that love to wear thongs, bikinis and even lace to work. They really want to be comfortable and it’s not a thought about what to wear. We even have guys on our staff that wear thongs to work on a regular basis.

There are is a subset of guys who view underwear as sexual. More so than most of us. To them, the underwear represents having a good time and getting ready to get buy. That they associate underwear with sex. There is nothing wrong with that at all. All of us want to wear something that makes us feel amazing before that special night. This is how my love of underwear started. Over the years it just became part of who I am

Over the years it just became part of who I am. I love to incorporate the love of undies in with my special times. But I don’t fully associate them with sex anymore. We have a really cool Brief Talk coming up where we discuss this topic amongst gay and straight guys. Be on the look out for it in August.

What is your underwear of choice for work and why?

Andrew Christian furnished an “Ace” jock from its “Almost Naked” collection for review.

Rating:  9/10

  • Daily Fit: 10/10
  • Sizing: 10/10
  • Construction: 9/10
  • Styling: 10/10
  • Daily Performance: 6/10

Pros:

  • That perfect “Almost Naked” pouch
  • Leg straps are attached underneath the waistband
  • Narrow leg straps feature subtle embossing of Andrew Christian brand

Cons:

  • This is streetwear, not gym wear
  • The leg straps curl and loosen when sweat-soaked

Osgon’s Recommendation:  A worthwhile buy if you like fashion jocks

With around 50 in my collection, you might say I’m a fan of the athletic support (aka “the jock strap”).  So I was excited when UNB Tim asked me to review the “Ace” jock from Andrew Christian’s “Almost Naked” collection.

Unless clearly marketed as fashion or fetish wear, I believe athletic supporters should be able to withstand the rigors of a real workout.  I tested AC’s Ace Jock by putting it through a rough, 90-minute at-home gauntlet of lifting weights (leg day!) plus HIIT cardio.

The Ace Jock is extremely well-made.  The seams are nicely constructed.  The fabric finish is trim and neat.  Its leg straps are attached underneath the waistband, which provides a more polished aesthetic.  (All designers should follow suit.)  The “Almost Naked” pouch provides exceptional support, just as one would expect.  And the 95% cotton, 5% spandex offers a soft hand to the material.

Alas, the Ace Jock didn’t stand up to the rigors of a workout.  When the leg straps became sweat-soaked, they curled.  They also loosened slightly.  Leg straps should remain flat and taught against the buttocks throughout a workout, even when wet.  Neither issue became so problematic as to interfere with the workout, but each issue is a fault worth noting.  And each fault necessitates one consider the Ace Jock as “street wear” and not “gym gear.”  (As a “street wear” product, the Ace Jock would probably receive a 9.6 or higher rating.)

If you wear a jock strap under your jeans on date night or under shorts while running errands, the Ace Jock makes a stylish, functional choice.  Just don’t expect it to be your go-to supporter for a heavy leg day or Kickboxing Cardio at 24 Hour Fitness.

At last check, the Ace Jock is available only in size medium (30-32”) at www.andrewchristian.com.  Other online stores may have additional sizes in stock.  I would expect other jock straps within AC’s “Almost Naked” range to perform similarly.

D.HEDRAL adds the Midas touch to its iconic Gigolo Joe style with the addition of metallic gold detailing.D.HEDRAL recently traveled to Tel Aviv to shoot and interview Israeli Movement Artist Netti Lapidot, who models Gigolo Joe II Gold in the latest installment of the DH12 editorial series.

D.HEDRAL is the first brand to offer men’s underwear with fit beyond a waistband. Recognizing not all men share the same body shape, D.HEDRAL developed patented AngleFit Technology that ergonomically stretches the fabric on the rear from three points to guarantee a perfect fit.

This revolutionary concept is engineered into lightweight seamless Italian cotton microfiber fabric to create a figure-hugging Second Skin with improved fit and supreme breathability for maximum comfort and freedom of movement.

GIGOLO JOE II boasts a structured support with a Y that vertically has close to zero elasticity whilst the horizontal stretch is determined by the shape and volume of the bum. This provides unique contoured fabric coverage over the glutes resulting in a visual enhancement of the natural silhouette.

D.HEDRAL’s iconic Gigolo Joe design features sporty thermotape accents and bold D.H logo waistband. The hybrid brief is knitted seamlessly using lightweight Italian cotton microfiber and handsewn with an elastic waistband for extra support.

The thermotape Y on the rear emphasizes the enhanced silhouette created by patented Anglefit Technology for a perfect fitting, figure-hugging second skin.

Bear Skn, the brand making comfortable underwear for men of size just launched a new collection for summer. They took all the best features of their other products and combined them for new bamboo drawers with sizes to 6X.

Whether you’re a traditionalist who likes the old school brief, or a fan of the boxer brief, you’ll find something here that works for you. Choose from green, red, or blue (greenery, river blue, or tangerine), as well as striped or solid patterns, and you’re good to go.

Knowing that fit is vital to big guys, they focused on making sure that no matter what you’re doing in their underwear, you’ll always be comfortable.

[The new brief offers] 4-way stretch and is form-fitting, but does not constrict at all. It’s also cool to the touch, ultra breathable, moisture-wicking, quick-drying, and generally amazing.

It’s also tagless, which means no scratchy badness to deal with. The new Bear Skn bamboo collection starts at $19.99 and $22.99 for solid briefs and boxer briefs, respectively, and $24.99 for the striped versions. Three packs are also available.

Andrew Christian furnished a brief from its “Massive Icon” collection for review.

Rating9.6/10

  • Daily Fit: 9/10
  • Sizing: 9/10
  • Construction: 10/10
  • Styling: 10/10
  • Daily Performance: 10/10

Pros:

  • 4-way stretch fabric (90% polyamide, 10% spandex) provides all-day comfort
  • Pouch enhances your profile better & is more comfortable than AC’s “Show It” collection
  • Fabric’s unusual pattern makes this brief a must-have winner

Cons:

  • Leg bands are slightly tighter than other AC products
  • The pouch initially seems like it will provide less room area than found in the “Almost Naked” line, but the 4-way stretch fabric overcomes this deficiency
  • This limited edition brief will sell out quickly

Osgon’s Recommendation:  A Strong Buy!

I’ve loved Andrew Christian products for years, as evidenced by dresser drawers filled with AC boxer briefs, briefs, jock straps, thongs, and swimwear.  I also own several items of AC athletic wear (and even a sweater).  So imagine my excitement when UNB Tim asked me to review the new Icon brief from AC’s “Massive” collection.

My test involved a day of running errands, putting together a new aquarium, and a brief stint outdoors.  These events provided opportunities to bend, squat, lean, lunge, lift, stand, walk, and – not surprisingly in this Texas heat – sweat.  The fabric and construction of the garment were up to the task, and the brief performed exceedingly well.  The brief held my kibbles and bits firmly in place, without even the slightest need to readjust.  Everything also stayed nice and dry due to the moisture wicking properties of the polyamide-spandex blend fabric.  The unusual, limited-edition print provided visual novelty.  I hope AC continues providing similar forward-leaning fabric patterns in future editions of its “Massive” collection.

I have only two criticisms of this brief.  First, I’m a huge fan of AC’s “Almost Naked” collection, and this brief has only about ninety percent of the initial roominess of cotton versions of the Almost Naked line.  Rather than have everything fall comfortably into the pouch when slipping on this underwear, one has to place one’s equipment into the pouch.  It’s not a deal breaker, but it is something that was unexpected.  Second, the leg elastic was tighter than that found in most other AC products.  It was not uncomfortable, but it was slightly tighter.  I don’t feel either criticism warrants purchasing a larger size, but each merits your consideration.

In sum, I loved the Icon brief from AC’s new Massive collection.  Any guy who enjoys an unusual pattern and the anatomically correct pouch will be happy he added this brief to his top drawer rotation.

At last check, AC does not have this brief available at its official online store.  A jock strap is available there.  A google search shows other online stores have the brief in stock.  If you like this pattern, order it A.S.A.P.; you won’t be disappointed.

Everything is hotter in rubber!

Gear up at the speed of sound with Cellblock 13’s Sonic Collection, quite possibly the hottest and most visually stunning fetish gear we’ve seen (and we’ve seen a LOT!). The unique ribbed neoprene rubber (more on that below) is so slick and edgy we’re calling it future fetish wear. Of course a collection this awesome deserves an equally awesome model so we called on our latest, Simon, to show it all off – and when we say show it off, we mean it. Don’t invite your mother to the spectacle.

The Sonic collection consists of a pouch “jockstrap”, a harness and matching wrist cuffs, all in the above mentioned neoprene in black with contrasting detailing in all your favorite fetish colors. Here’s the details:

Cellblock 13 Sonic Pouch Jockstrap

This formed 3D contoured pouch is made with a stunning ribbed black neoprene on the outside with a foamed inside for comfort (your junk will love you for it!) Between the ribbing and contouring you’ll always be bulging to perfection like a cod piece effect. Contrasting piping in either dark grey, white, blue or red not only add a visual punch but end up highlighting your bulge.

Defying gravity: Although the “jock” has leg straps, there’s no waistband to keep it all secure but don’t worry, just attach a harness to keep it from falling down around your ankles (unless of course that’s what you want). The straps are one inch wide and made of a heavy duty elastic in black with repeating Cellblock 13 woven into it in the contrasting color. Both straps are split by two black metal rings which not only look good but provide a place to hook up the harnesses’ swivel snap hooks.

Cellblock 13 Sonic Harness

Designed to show off your back and your chest, this harness is a must have item. Wear it with the Sonic Pouch or simply hook it up to the belt loops of your favorite pair of jeans. Consists of a series of one and half inch wide straps made with the same incredible stretchy neoprene rubber as the pouch, also with the soft foam backing.

All the straps are edged with contrasting piping for visual effect. A single strap runs between your shoulder blades hooking up to two large metal D rings on each side. Two straps then run from the D ring, one over the shoulder and one under the armpit to meet up front with a metal ring that sits just to the side and below your pecs. Finally, straps run from the front rings down your body looping around two black metal swivel hooks and snap back unto itself. Between the natural stretch of the neoprene straps and the three sizing snaps you can be assured a perfect fit. Also worth a mention – because Cellblock 13 is all about the details, the backing of the metal snaps are in black.

Cellblock 13 Sonic Cuffs

To complete your Sonic look (or simply wear with your favorite pair of jeans), Cellblock 13 has you covered… well at least your wrists. The Sonic Cuffs are ribbed neoprene wristbands with a welcome inner soft foam backing. They’re around five and half inches long. The ribbing running lengthwise down your forearm and the contrasting stitching running around the top, bottom and single stripe down the length make a visual impact.

Each Sonic item is sold separately and although the pouch technically can’t be worn without a harness, not just the Sonic Harness will work. Most Cellblock 13 harnesses including the X-treme Hybrid Harness from our previous Cellblock 13 Collection (still available) will do the trick.

One thing lately that I have become obsessed with are Flamingos. I don’t know what it is about them over the last six months but I am loving everything flamingo. While surfing through the Andrew Christian site I spotted something that mixes two of my favorite things. Flamingos of course and the Almost Naked pouch. To me, this is hands down the best pouch in the Andrew Christian line up. It’s always been my favorite, not to knock the other pouches but the Almost Naked just fits me amazingly.

If you happen to be like me and are loving flamingos, this print is available in a jock and a brief. It’s in the category that I”m not sure which one to get, but I may have to break down and get both styles. The print is an aqua color with black horizontal stripes and Flamingos placed through out. It’s totally tropic/Miami looking to me. Top that with the black waistband and trim and I’m sold!

This is what the AC site says about the pair:

“Oh My” are probably the words that come to mind? Introducing one of the cutest prints ever seen, the limited edition Almost Naked Flamingo Brief. This one of a kind brief features dark contrast trim on vibrant aqua color fabric with bright pink flamingo print & black stripe details. The signature Andrew Christian slimming waistband, the classic laurel cross flag, and it’s flattering slim fit will make this pair your absolute go-to on any given night,”

Don’t wait around too long! This is a limited edition print and better get it early. I am in the same boat, I will have to break out the wallet and get it. The Fabric Content: 90%POLYAMIDE 10%SPANDEX. The brief retails for $18 and the Jock retails for $16. Both are reasonably priced.

If you are interested in the Flamingo Brief or Flamingo Jock, head to the Andrew Christian site now! Don’t wait.
