I have been going through a lot lately, personally, professionally, and in life in general. I am fast approaching the 14th anniversary of UNB, and I keep thinking about where the blog and UNB world will go. Have I figured out the road map forward, not in the slightest, but I have never really planned out UNB every step of the way. There has been a general road map, and then let things play out!
PODCAST
The podcast is one part of the blog that is true to the road above. I started it in 2009 and went to the start of 2012. It didn’t catch on, and I didn’t do it as often as I should have, but we struck on something great when it was relaunched in 2018. Instead of doing the podcast about the brands and such in underwear, I turned it into discussions about underwear with real guys. You get to be a part of the conversation.
This part of the blog has brought me so much joy as well. I love talking to new guys about underwear and getting new guys together on shows to talk about specific topics. Some of the emails have been incredible. How we are making guys find out they aren’t alone out there! Those of us on the show take it for granted to talk undies, but so many out there don’t have that friend or any outlet, so listening to us go back and forth has been one way to hear like-minded guys.
I have so much planned for the podcast it’s just making it happen. I want to add more people of color, all body sizes, people outside of the US, of all orientations, and even married couples (gay, bi, straight). I have been lucky to call many of these guys my friends. I hope this continues. The only downside is editing. For the time being, one podcast a week is about all I can manage.
The Blog
I know many people have turned to IG/TicTok and influencers in the underwear world and such. However, I think blogs will always have a place on the internet. During the last few years, I have gone from a staff of 8 down to just me writing. I would welcome guys to come on and write. If you are passionate, email me or DM me on social media.
Why haven’t there been many reviews? Many may have noticed a cut back in reviews. The main reason is owning a store and reviewing isn’t ethically responsible. I usually get Andy, Erik, or Stevie to do some reviews for me. I miss doing them, but I don’t want anyone to say, “you’re giving a good review just to sell underwear with the UNB Store.” The blog differs from the store, and I will always treat it that way, promoting other stores and brands. UNB welcomes everyone in the underwear world.
I plan on making the blog a little more personal and talking about issues in underwear, so pivot from the “journalistic” point of view I started with, and I think many guys love that as well. I also welcome brands and stores to guest write and do new things. We have teamed up with the fantastic Men and Underwear Store to do the “What’s Hot in Europe” monthly.
UNB Store
I started the store in 2018 as a discount site, but at the time, I never had time to devote to it and let it sit for months. In 2019 I lost my primary source of income and had the opportunity to launch an actual store, and I took it. It’s growing and needs to grow a lot more! I love doing it, even though I said I’d never do an underwear store for years.
It’s a learning curve to run a store! I worked for a store in the early 2010s and got a feel for it, but now I’m the buyer, bookkeeper, social media manager, marketing, and customer service agent. Plus, the economy this year has been rough on many businesses. Using social media to sell undies is just as difficult as you guys wanting to share your love of undies. It sucks. because there is so much we can’t do that other industries can.
One thing I want to do is create personalized underwear recommendations for guys. If you are interested, let me know, but know this will not happen overnight and may take a few days to get back to you. However, this is a thing I love to do, and recommend new brands and styles. Also, Erik and Andy are willing to help with the thong suggestions.

Todd Sanfield makes some fantastic underwear! He’s added more and more thongs to his collection lately, and he has just dropped the Natron Thong to his collection. I have heard from a few guys that they love all his styles, including the thongs. I have several pairs and think they are some of my favorite in my drawer.
One thing you can say about Todd is he doesn’t sit. Still, he’s constantly adding new styles, colors, and prints to his collection. Each addition seems to be hand-picked and seamlessly fits into his overall brand. His collection has grown and matured over the years into one that will be around for many years! His fabrics and designs have resonated with guys, and the quality is up there with the best brands on the market.

I love a good bodysuit, so I was excited to try the PetitQ Tarare body thong. My excitement soured a bit because I initially couldn’t figure out how to put it on. After about 5 minutes of trying, which feels like an eternity, I clicked onto the PetitQ website to see what it looked like on the model. My hope was that by looking at the photos, I’d be able to figure it out.
After another few minutes, I finally figured it out. I recommend you look for the pouch first, which has the two leg straps connected. Once you get that far, as you pull up the rest of the suit, you’ll have what looks like two semi-overlapping pieces. This is primarily where the confusion was. Overlap the two straps and put them over your head. Then you’ll noticed thin strings on each side; put your arms through there and you’ll be set! I had to pull my arms back and up for that last part, but those side straps have some good flexibility and it all worked well.
Once on, I did find the back straps to be a bit tight. If you have a larger chest and back, you may find it beneficial to go up a size. I found the butt straps to be fairly comfortable, and I enjoyed the minimal coverage in the back.
Though initially confusing to put on, once you overcome that, this is a fun and sexy bodysuit. The butt straps are designed to be worn like a thong, but can also be worn under the butt cheeks, more similar to a jock; I appreciate the versatility. If you’re looking for something fun to wear in the bedroom, you’ll want to be sure to give this bodysuit a chance.

Happy National Underwear day, guys! I always forget to post on this day, but this year, I almost forgot to post. It’s 9:20 the morning of National Underwear Day, and I”m sitting down to write this; better late than never.
I try to celebrate national underwear day every day. If you read UNB or listen to the podcast, you are the kind of guy that feels the same. And by that, here is what I mean:
Wear what you feel sexy in
First and foremost, wear what makes you feel sexy and confident. We get so many things in life we have no control over, but underwear is one that we can 100% control. If you love pink thongs, wear them! If you love classic white briefs, wear them; if you love bikini briefs, wear them!
Don’t listen to anyone who says that you shouldn’t wear something because of your age, body, or anything else! I say give them the finger and keep wearing.
Encourage others to try something new.
I know this is not easy for many guys, but today is a day we should encourage friends to wear something new. Break out of the boxer briefs and try a brief, jock, or thong. However, our society doesn’t make it easy for men to talk undies in the US.

Don’t do like Jockey did and make fun of thongs. If you can’t see the clip above, it’s country singer Luke Brian and, I assume, his wife. He says his boxer briefs are his go-to. His wife says these are your new go-to’s, holding up a thong. Luke responds, “this is a prank.” First, do better, Jockey; we know you sell thongs for men and to perpetuate the “smaller underwear is a joke.” on national underwear day is terrible form.

Lastly, buy yourself something fun. Build National underwear day into your underwear budget. Let’s make this an actual holiday and something more guys will take notice of, and one way to do that is to do it with your wallet. If brands and stores see an increase, this will make them actively promote it every year, and it should spread out far beyond the core underwear market.

Today’s Brief Distraction features a TBT from Andrew Christian. This picture was posted on the blog in August of 2018. I love these look backs each week because it reminds me of so many things! Andrew Christian has really had some amazing pics over the years.
IG has smacked me not once but twice on my pool party series. I posted the Pol party prints picture, and as soon as I posted it, I got the “Oh, your post contains nudity or sexual content.” If you feel like this is not the case, please let us know. And I did, and minutes later, I got notifications that people liked the picture. This meant the appeal was successful! Huzzah.
I wake up on Tuesday and open IG like I do most mornings, and I have another notification that the same picture violated their TOS, and unlike last time, there is no way to appeal this decision. WTF? You just said that the picture didn’t violate TOS. First, the image is a drawing; it’s not a picture. Second, it did have a bit of nudity, but it’s half a butt behind a person. It’s not like I had the guy full spread cheeks showing his hole! It’s Ridiculous.
I am fully aware we need a social media site where we can share art, pictures, and more! This is no longer a “hey, it would be nice to have this,” but it’s the only way forward. I would love to connect with people who could make this happen with me!
What is needed to start a new network?
First is money. Guys want a new service but don’t want to pay for it. I don’t have the cash needed to launch this, I am happy to take the lead, but I need people willing to support this monetarily and promotion-wise.
Second, we need hosting that is somewhat reasonable. It would likely be a Virtual Private Network that can expand as we grow. VPS isn’t exactly cheap, and I would need someone to help with maintenance. My previous experience would run the servers into the ground and move to a new one after about five years. We need a guy who can update and fix a web server.
Third, we would need to promote this network hard! I mean, get guys on and signed up! This would include moderators as well. Guys willing to do this for free to grow the service and either get paid in gear or money later. This is Unless we get some investors or deep pockets to fund the venture.
Fourth, the rules or our TOS. First and foremost, there would be no VPL, thong backs, or any of those violations. We need rules, and I don’t want to run a porn service. I say this not because I’m against sex, but the legal requirements are way too much; you need an attorney on retainer and look what happened to pornhub. They now have identification on file for all their “models,” and the same goes for Onlyfans. While I think non-sexual nudity would be fine, any sex acts would have to be ruled out (unless you guys want to pay for the site! And send in copies of your state-issued ID).
