Men’s Swimwear

As much as we would like it not everyone can wear a swim brief for various reasons. Sometimes it’s family, other times location and other times are you may not feel you best. A great pair of swim shorts is great to have in your swimwear collection each year.

The official description is:

Confident, masculine and bold! These are designed to be form fitted and stretchy for optimum mobility and comfort. Supa lightweight with bold and vibrant prints that make this the essential beach short. It features a quick-dry fabric to keep you dry and comfortable. Stretchy and lightweight for optimum mobility. Fitted to give you a slimming silhouette. Internal mesh lining for extra support.

The shorts themselves feature three different prints. They are ice cream, hot dogs, and watermelons. The small prints make it a lot of fun and not juvenile. I saw these in Vegas and they are pretty cool. This is perfect for guys who don’t want a loud vivid print but want a fun pair to wear to the beach. Each print could be a conversation starter at the beach/pool.

My personal favorite is the Ice Cream. I like the light blue and prints. But you can pick out your favorite pair. The three swim shorts go on sale March 13 at the Supawaer site

2EROS releases more swimwear in the V10 style. The Core series is out with some colors that should look familiar. They are a throwback to the original colors released in the first year of 2EROS. When in Vegas, Jason, showed us the new collections and pointed this out specifically.

2EROS makes some of the most amazing swimwear on the market. Jason know’s how to pick out prints. From geometric to floral, they always pop and look amazing. I love prints in swimwear but there are times when a classic solid color is called for on the beach/pool. 2EROS does both very well!  This is what they tell us about the collection:

The V10 Core Series boasts a sexy low rise and form fit which is designed to accentuate and celebrate the male form. As much as we love our bright coloured prints, simple solid colours will always be a timeless favourite. Focused purely on the male form, each piece is designed to accentuate all your attributes.

Featuring the iconic 2EROS V10 fit, quick-dry fabric to keep you dry and comfortable, internal front mesh lining for extra support, 4 way stretch and lightweight fabric for maximum mobility.

This collection will be out on Wednesday, March 14th. So head to the 2EROS site to check it out.

Swimwear season is right around the corner. One brand that never lets down during swimwear season is 2EROS. They are celebrating their 10th year this year. The V10 is a classic style of 2EROS. They have some awesome new prints coming out this year. This is what 2EROS says about the new style.

aussieBum Tropical inspired swimwear

Anytime is a good time to think about beach and pool season. How about some tropical inspired swimwear from aussieBum. They have added two new swimwear lines. First, there is the Sixteen swim line that is a square-cut / hipster style swimsuit. Then there is the Tropics line, which is more of a traditional cut swim brief.

The Sixteen swim line is very tempting to me even though I’d prefer more often to go the swim brief route. I like the color combinations with the tropical print. I could see it as an alternative for when you feel you need a little more coverage. Or I guess a little less depending if going from swim brief to them or trunk to them.

The Sixteen square cut swimsuits are available in four color options of Blue River, Hawaiian, Roselle, and Tropical. All of them have the feature of what they call a handlebar design. The top of the back and front have the tropical pattern along with the whole sides. The blue river color is a bright blue with the print having yellow and blue flowers on a white background. Hawaiian is black with the blue and yellow flower print on white. Then Roselle is red with the red and yellow flowers on white. Last is Tropical, which is black with the red and yellow flowers on the white.

aussieBum says “this unique design brings a fresh floral styling to a truly classic design.” The Sixteen line is made from fine Italian fabric. It’s a blend of 80% nylon and 20% elastance. They can be cold water machined washed, but do not tumble dry. Recommended line drying in the shade. You’ll have to get these before they are gone. They’re strictly limited edition.

Now let’s take a look at the Tropics line. It is available in three colors. The black has white hibiscus flowers. There is blue, which is the color of the petals of the hibiscus with white accenting. Your last option is red. It has white hibiscus flowers with black foliage. Here’s how aussieBum describes the Tropics, “Unique sublimated print swimwear in 3 vibrant colourways featuring a totally tropical hibiscus floral design.”

The Tropics line is also made out of 80% nylon and 20% elastance. It can be cold water machined washed, but again line drying is recommended. This line is strictly limited edition too.

Both lines are proudly made in Australia. Feel the tropical beach even when you’re not there by breaking out a pair from the aussieBum Sixteen or Tropics swim line. Get them before they are gone.

aussieBum Bloom Short and CottonRise Underwear

If you’re not ready for swim briefs or less at the beach or pool, why not go for shorter trunks. aussieBum has released their Bloom shorts. They say they are the “perfect every day short, in or out of the water.” These do not have any lining, so check out the aussieBum swim briefs for under them.

The Bloom shorts have mesh pockets and a drawstring with metal end ties. These feature a tropical floral print hence the name Bloom. They are available in three colors: Navy, Army, and Red. They’re made of 100% polyester and can be cold washed separately. They should be hung to dry. aussieBum says these are designed to fade. Also, note that patterns may vary slightly. The shorts are designed in Australia but made in Vietnam.

These are nice looking shorts with a subtle floral pattern, which you’d probably wouldn’t notice unless you were close up. Great alternative when you don’t feel comfortable in a swim brief. Or getting the short tan lines even shorter.

Hey, brief and trunk/boxer brief wearers. Go back to the 50s with this CottonRise line’s inspiration. Designed with the original 50’s high rise design with an extra large pouch for comfort. aussieBum says, “These vintage-style relaxed fit undies are made for the man with the confidence to put comfort first.”

These are made from a thick yet soft blend of 95% cotton and 5% elastane. They are designed with a relaxed loose fit in mind, so don’t expect lots of support. They seemed to be designed for lounging comfort. Maybe a good choice for those that don’t want the boxer no support, but not too much holding of the boys either. These can be machined washed cold but recommended to be line dried. They are proudly made in Australia.

As I mentioned above these are available in a brief or boxer brief. You can choose from red or blue waistband with the aussieBum name on it. Body is white on all the pairs. Want some underwear with a looser pouch fit then take a look at the CottonRise line from aussieBum.

aussieBum CottonRise Underwear

The weather in the Eastern part of the US has been crazy. We are warm one minute and below freezing the next. It’s not the weather you would normally talk about swimwear. Unless Gregg Homme released their new line of swimwear. Their swimwear is not as sensual as their underwear. I’m not claiming that it’s boring either. But, when you go from leather and see-through material. Their swimwear is always amazing.

There are four new lines. They are the Cruising Collection, Flamed Collection, and Sea Reef Collection. The last you may recognize the name! Here is a brief overview of the new pairs

Cruising Collection

The new Cruising collection comes in three different styles. They are Boxer Brief, Thong, and Brief. This is a more color block collection. Available in Red, Grey, or Khaki.  Lastly, this line has a matte finish to the fabric.

The pricing for the line is:

  • $60 for the boxer brief
  • $34 for the thong
  • $50 for the brief.

Cruising Brief

The Cruising Thong

The Crusing Boxer Brief

Flamed Collection

Looking to spice up your swimwear with a bit of color? The new Flamed Collection has a bold vivid print! The line comes in a Boxer Brief, Thong, and a Brief. The fabric is a matte finish just like the cruising line. The colors are just the print!

The pricing for the line is:

  • $60 for the boxer brief
  • $33 for the thong
  • $50 for the brief.

Seareef Collection

Swimwear should be bright and fun! Unlike the other collections, the Sea Reef one is a solid with two stripes. The colors of this collection just POP. It’s my favorite of the collection. The colors of the line are Grey, Orange, or Aqua.  These will make a statement on the beach. Just like the other collections it’s available in a boxer brief, brief, and thong

The pricing for the line is:

  • $69 for the boxer brief
  • $54 for the thong
  • $62 for the brief.

Check out all the pairs on the Gregg Homme site!

ADDICTED has released the newest ADDICTED 2018 Swimwear Collection. Called “Splash” for its fresh, colorful and jovial character, “Splash” is synonymous with summer, laughter, fun… Definitely a collection to enjoy during the hottest season of the year.Splash is a very innovative collection, where we have once again used new fabrics & cuts, providing an exceptional fit. In combination with our new prints, this makes our swimwear collection an ideal one for this summer.

A brand I discovered on social media is Mertailor. He is a designer doing not only men’s and women’s swimwear. He also designs mermaid and mermen tails. The entire line he creates is super fun. I got a chance to talk to the Mertailor, Eric, for a talk about his brand.

I first saw your brand thanks to DW Chase, he posted a picture in one of your swim bikinis. For those of our readers who don’t know about you, tell us about your brand, how did you get started making swimwear?

A: Well, true story! I love Tail! Lol – Actually, when I was a young boy, I love mermaids, Mermen, and the underwater world. So much that I started a company that made functional, mermaid tails that you can swim in. In the process of this, growing up, discovering myself, I always wanted to take my talents and knowledge to the next level. I knew that I had to take my concepts and turn them into everyday attire. I figure the best was to do this was fashion. Why no swimwear, right? It’s fitting! Suits and tails for swimming! So, I created my first line of men’s swimwear, Mertailor Men. It’s been a fun adventure and it’s been far from easy. But, if it were easy, everyone could do it, right?

You initially started making mermaid tails, which are pretty cool! How did that transition into swimwear?

A: My grandparents actually were the original source to thank for my ambitions today. My family and friends support it now. When I was a kid, they brought me to Weeki Wachee Springs to see the mermaid show. It was all glitz, glamour, and a total dream fantasy come true. At that point, I knew I had to do something so unique and unusual to fulfill my fancy. I chose to start making tails for myself, eventually, I was contracted at Weeki Wachee Springs to make my tails, then I started my company making tails, and it just grew from there. From working with spandex fabrics, making patterns, the ability to design and execute, it was an amazing transition.

You make swimwear for men, women, and kids. Did you start with one category or start with them all at once?

I started with the men’s line. As a gay male, I initially wanted my own swimwear for myself and my male clients. Believe it or not, there’s a ton of men who wear tails! It’s amazing! Talk about self-expression. I realized that I had to have matching sets for women and kids. So, we started doing it all. However, my passion for swimwear is directed towards the men’s line. Without a doubt, we are a company that produces items for all genders.

The men’s swimwear is awesome. I love the bikinis and the sea themed prints. It’s like you turned the tails into swimwear! Why did you do the cuts (bikini, trunk, and compression)?

Honestly, they are sexy and popular. But, I wanted to put a twist on the normal. I wanted to show my art to the world and bring awareness of the ocean in a different way than most designers would do.

Which style do your customers tend to buy the most?

From what we have seen, our bikini briefs have been our top sellers.

One thing I thought of is, we have a good mix of readers gay and straight. It would be awesome for men and women to get matching print swimwear. Have you had customers comment that they are doing this?

Oh yes! We have both genders purchase multiple matching items!

My personal favorite print is the Octopus Rock Gold Bomber Trunk! Super fun. How do you find your awesome prints? Do you design them or find them?

Well, I’m extremely artistic and we have a team of artists who share my crazy directions.

Your bio said you used to be a Merman, do you still swim?

Oh yes, as much as I can. Lately not as much as I would appreciate. We act had an underwater studio put in to photograph our products underwater and poolside! This is my grotto 😉

Where can our readers find your awesome swimwear?

They can visit our website www.themertailor.com and click on the links that send them to our swimwear pages 🙂

It’s cold and a chance of snow this time of year. So, what makes us want to post about swimwear? It’s because Aronik has released their new Ensign collection! I have seen it on Tumblr and a few other social media outlets but It wasn’t listed on their site. Then this past week I saw it had been released! Well, it’s more of an unveiling than a release. The new collection is available or Pre-order!

The new collection continues on in the tradition that Aronik has set. There are some great solids and stripes (The ones pictured above I call stripes as well even though they are color blocked.) The Aronik guys have an eye or design that makes their suits just pop. When on Instagram or Facebook, I can always tell when it’s theirs, even before seeing any branding.

There is something I like about this collection that I couldn’t put my finger on at first. After thinking about it, I realized it’s they are evolving and taking the swimwear to the next level. Concentrating on things they do right. Those things are the mix of colors. The gray, white and orange are such a great combo. You can’t see in this picture but the gray is a print. Top that with some amazing styles it’s a winning combination.

There are three different prints that could be considered over the top for the brand. Those are the Bomb range. Each is a bright fun color with a very small pint of popsicles, drinks, or a crab. The back is a big Aronik name with a beach print. Super fun. It s unexpected but still super fun.

One last thing is if you are looking for a solid bikini, this is a brand that hasn’t forgotten about you. Their bikini cut is pretty awesome. Make sure you go check out the new Ensign collection!

Swimwear season is long gone. We just got over a record snowfall in ATL, so putting on the swim briefs outside will not be happening anytime soon. But, that doesn’t stop brands like Andrew Christian from coming out with new and awesome pairs of swimwear. You could be going on a cruise or trip to the tropics! You still have to be comfortable and look your best.

The Buckle Bikini from Andrew Christian is a new swim with a buckle on the hip. It can be for easy removal after a swim or maybe you want to go sans suit on the beach. Nothing could be faster than this suit. This is what they say about the pair:

Your package will fall naturally into the super soft snuggle pocket to create a truly enjoyable unique wearing experience. Earlier this week we brought you the 2EROS Waikiki swim brief. Today we bring you another print in the V10 line called the Chevy. Names so because it’s a chevron print. Both swim briefs have the same design but different and awesome prints. 2EROS has swimwear that stands out!

This is what 2EROS says about the pair: “The V10 Chevy features a bold and impactful chevron print that is recognized as a symbol for male strength. The V10 Waikiki is inspired by the Hibiscus flower, a representation of confidence and courage.”

If you’re not one for tropical floral prints, the Chevy maybe for you. It’s a masculine print that will look great on a lot of guys. It’s not one that will draw attention to a guy and say “LOOK AT ME” on the beach. 2EROS has bright fun pairs but they also have some more conservative cuts. These prints and colors are great to round out your own drawer of swimwear.

The CHEVY is out now!

COLORS: Print as shown
FABRIC: 85% Polyester, 15% Elastane
SIZES: X-Small – X-Large
