Men’s Underwear

Category

I’ll admit that one of my guilty pleasures is seeing guys bend over or raise their hands and getting a peek at their underwear waistband. To me, I love learning about what underwear other guys are wearing. Interestingly, waistbands have become almost a status symbol, with companies trying to make their waistbands stand out as the focal point of any pair of underwear. If you’re looking to impress with your waistband, these are brands and pairs that will definitely do the trick.

Calvin Klein – Iron Strength

This is one of my all time favorite pairs, and the waistband is a lot of the reason I like it. Fitting with its name, all of the waistbands in this line are bold and masculine. It has the legendary Calvin Klein name in the front and six horizontal lines running around the rest of the waistband. Overall, it kind of reminds me of racing stripes, which definitely makes a statement.

Saxx – 3Six Five Boxer (Charcoal Polka Dot)

I always think of Saxx when I think about waistbands, and one particular pair stands out to me. Like the previous pair, it has the brand name and then horizontal stripes, though these are red, white, blue, and gray stripes of different lengths. It’s a nice contrast and it makes this pair of underwear.

2(X)IST – Graphic Modal No Show Brief (Black)

This line has a lot of different types of waistbands, and my favorite has to be the black pair. Though the pair is solid black, the waistband has a unique pattern that reminds me of leopard print but isn’t overpowering. It overall gives up a luxurious vibe that is indicative of the brand.

Andrew Christian – Trophy Boy

This is a classic example of a statement waistband. It exudes confidence and sexiness and anyone who sees it would likely agree. The word “trophy boy” written in bold capital letters against the black waistband conveys a clear message that you’re a guy who is assertive and strong. This is a waistband I always try to show off when I’m wearing it.

Emporio Armani – Magnum

This line’s waistband comes in different colors, but the common theme between them is the two-tone horizontal stripe and Emporio Armani written with the signature eagle logo in the middle. The coolest part is how the font changes to be the opposite color when it crosses the line between the two tones. As fans of Emporio Armani know, this is one of the classiest brands on the market today, and this waistband shows that. (Picture by International Jock)

I love that brands are putting more thought into waistbands. It really shows an attention to detail that elevates any pair of underwear.

Undies as art? Men’s underwear, like a lot of male designer fashion, can be a work of art. It might be something to do with the weird weather in the UK, or perhaps that British men are secretly more daring than their suited-and-booted image implies, but they’re having fun with lavish colours and prints from Deadgoodundies this month.

Feeling a creative drought? Wear our co-ordinating rainbow men’s tee and body hugging hipsters and you’re sure to be back at the easel in no time!

Hi everyone, and welcome to another article in our Thong 101 series. We hope you are enjoying it so far. This list is based on a list of “commandments” I came up with a while back, detailing in my humble opinion what I thought the most important things to consider when buying your first thong. Some of these concepts will be discussed in more detail in later articles in the series. In no particular order, here they are:

1. Buy something attractive yet sensible- Pick something in a color you would usually wear. Stay away from mesh or anything that reveals too much for now. Sadly, that means single lined pouches that only show a bit are a no go as well. You also don’t want to go for something super expensive just yet either. Stay away from the $40 pairs and look for sales or such to lessen the monetary loss if you decide thongs aren’t for you.

2. Materials matter- You won’t want your first thong to be something you have to hand wash and air dry, trust me, it’s a major pain in the butt. Get something that you can throw in the washer and dryer with the rest of your underwear.
3. Go with a big name- Having your first thong come from a major brand is better because a pair from a major brand will hopefully be suited for a wider range of people and more likely to suit your needs.

4.Comfort comes first- The skimpiest and sexists pairs are often the least comfortable. When trying your first thong, getting used to it is paramount, so at the beginning comfort, trumps looks. You can always try those other pairs later.

5. Try a few- Men’s thongs are coming in an increasingly wide variety of types, fabrics, and styles these days, and many men have a preference for specific types. You may only like one type, or perhaps them all! Basically, you can’t judge all thongs just by one single pair. Additionally, what other’s may like you might not, and that’s ok! This might be the most important tip among all of these.
6. All of these rules can be broken- Last but not least, if a pair really catches your eye, even if it doesn’t meet any of these suggestions, go for it. Finding a pair you love can really help trying a new style of underwear, and can overcome any negative traits from that. In the end, it is all up to individual preference. It’s your underwear, get what you want!

I know some of these tips may be a now brainer, but you would be surprised how overwhelming it can get when you are looking to buy your very first thong. I hope these suggestions help you to decide, or even give you the push to make that purchase! Any other good suggestions you think I might have missed? Let us know in the comments blow, or message us on Twitter.

Picture features Sukrew thong.

It started as the weapon of choice for every grade-school bully, evolved into a paralyzing fear among outcasts in high school, and becomes a painful annoyance to every active man in adulthood. The mere mention is enough to strike fear into the heartiest of men, and its presence induces anger, frustration, and no small level of discomfort.

We are referring, of course, to the wedgie.

As an active man, you’ve likely encountered your share of mid-workout wedgies. Maybe your underwear ran up your leg on the treadmill or trail, or perhaps it bunched up on a long bike ride. No matter when, where, or how it happened, odds are good you gritted your teeth and made a beeline for the locker room as soon as possible.

We feel your pain, and we’re here to help: Jack Adams is excited to introduce the Striker Jock Brief.

Available in two stylish colorways, the Striker Jock Briefs make wedgies a thing of the past. We’ve cut the butt out of this pair to eliminate bunching, but we think you’ll find a lot more to love about the Striker Jock Brief. Here’s what you’ll love:

  • Breathable design: With no rear panel, you’ll enjoy improved ventilation, breathability, and airflow. This keeps you dry, prevents sweat from pooling, and cuts down on chafing.
  • Superior comfort: The Striker Jock Brief is made from a soft cotton blend that moves with your body and delivers a form-hugging fit.
  • Added support: You’ll enjoy the unique design, which blends the classic brief style in the front and the lift of a jock in the back.

Say goodbye to wedgies forever, and check out the new Striker Jock Brief from Jack Adams today.

We haven’t updated the Endowed series in a while. I was surfing the International Jock site and noticed there were new pairs of John Sievers collection released. If you are an endowed guy and haven’t tried the John Sievers line you are missing out! It’s one of the most amazing and underrated brands on the market. I think that the pinnacle of a brand is to get guys to take selfies. It’s very rare when I’m on a “dating site” that I see guys in John Sievers!

What makes this brand so special? The pouch is made for guys who are packing. Readers who don’t have as much in front have commented the pouch is too big for them. It’s bad for average guys but great for us endowed guys! The new line is called the Sleek line. The official description is:

These SLEEK John Sievers briefs will forever change the way you think about your underwear. Made from a nylon/lycra microfiber fabric, these lightweight briefs are moisture-wicking, soft and supportive, and offer 4-way stretch for a body-hugging fit. Unlike the old-fashioned pouches on most other briefs, the revolutionary John Sievers “Natural Pouch” has a special, deeply-contoured shape that conforms perfectly to your male anatomy. When you pull on a pair of natural pouch briefs, your genitals hang gently and naturally in the pouch, providing a feeling so comfortable that you’ll swear that you’re not wearing anything at all. The back of the pouch softly hugs the area behind your scrotum with just enough tension to lift your genitals up and forward, preventing your boys from falling between your legs and providing a natural bulge-enhancing effect.

The Sleek line comes in Lagoon, Neon Green, Magenta and Steele Gray. I think my favorite is the Lagoon. I love the blue color. But all would make a great addition to your underwear drawer. They retail for $26.95 available exclusively on International Jock!

One brand that has a unique style is 4-Hunks. They are based out of Berlin and focus on super fun and awesome gear. They have released a new pair called the Bulge Brief. Here is what they have to say about this pair and the shoot.

The gay life became more sophisticated and requires we thought clothes. For that reason, we designed simple and versatile male slips that look steaming hot. The new underwear collection expresses lust and pride. The underwear brings out the best of a man’s bulge by accentuating his pouch with all the details. As a result, you have slips that are excellently designed for any occasion. No matter if you are going to the gym, a party or simply want to have sex tonight. You are prepared for them all!

Made of 95% Modal and 5% Elastane makes them super pleasant and seductive to wear at the same time. The underwear brings out the best of a man ́s bulge by accentuating his pouch with all the details.

Hot tip: Combine it with a Roman Harness and be the party’s hottest guest.

The Shooting:
On this Shooting with partnered with the sophisticated and amazing Axel Hotel Berlin ( www.axelhotels.com ), wich has the most friendly and brilliant staff in Berlin.Models: Our Sexy Hunks Sebastian and Gabriel from Edinburgh, who did a brilliant job in Berlin.

The Slips are available online at 4-Hunks.

The Bulge brief is available in white and black. It retails for 29 Euros at the 4-Hunks site. The Roman Harness is 35 Euros and makes the perfect addition to the bulge brief.

It’s Swimwear Sunday! This edition of Swimwear Sunday we are going retro. aussieBum updated their Vintage Stripes collection. These give a nod to swim briefs in the 70’s. Some out there may remember that back then stripes were popular in men’s swimear. Unlike today’s pairs they were made out of nylon, so they didn’t have the comfort of today’s swiwmear.

I love aussieBum’s nod to the past. They do it a lot in some of their lines. They will take something classic or maybe something we forgot about and put their design spin on it. I think it’s important to get inspiration from past styles. aB is not afraid to draw from the past and make some amazing pairs of unerwear and swimeawr.

This is the official descripsion:

ussieBum brings back the fun, retro look for Summer with the new Vintage Stripes range in our classic swimwear style. We’ve searched far and wide for the classic looks our Aussie forefathers hit the surf in from the good old days. Relive the past and redefine your future with these sexy, lightweight and quick drying swimmers. They’re so durable they’re the choice of Aussie Surf Rowers. If you doubt yourself, wear something else! Proudly Australian made

If you have been wanting to try some aussieBum this maybe a great pair to try. Made out of 100% polyester, don’t let that scare you, it will fit really well! Also, if you have seen some of their loose line, they can be a bit sheer when wet. These have a sheer rating of low on the aussibum site. Some of you may want to show off but for those who doen’t this pair is foryou.

The best thing about the Vintage Stripes is the price. It retails for $21.25. Which is amazingly inexpesnive in the world of swimewar. Mos tswimwear is around $30-60. This means there’s no better time to get soem swimwear. Available in five new olor combors. Go shop aussiebum now!

Have you been a fan of the N2N Bodywear Tri Tech shorts? Well, they are back! The shorts have been a fan favorite over the years. The new Tri Tech shorts are back and made out of Polyester/spandex blend. Which will make them super comfortable and easy to move around in.

The colors available in this line are blue and red. This retro fabric reminds me of their Vintage collection they had in underwear a few years ago. That was one of the most comfortable lines of underwear they ever created. The fabric was so freaking soft.

Why is this pair so popular? Because of the built-in scoop pouch and high leg splits. This allows you to have a wide range of movements. And the built-in scoop pouch allows you to wear without underwear. It’s perfect for running, working out or just hanging around the house.

The Tri Tech shorts retail for $36.00 and is available in sizes X-Small – X-Large.

Just this week a brand that we have covered announced they are closing. Underweardude pointed out in a private chat that JM announced it was closing. I was like WHAT? This year has seen some major changes in the world of men’s underwear. It’s been an odd year. This just compounds onto the year.

I have been doing UNB for almost 9 years. In that time I have worked with hundreds of blogs and have ones that I have gotten to know. Working closely with them over this time I consider them friends and not just people I work with on the blog. This may seem odd but, but the men’s underwear industry is a rather close knit market. Everyone knows everyone and for the most part get along.

At Magic you can see a lot the brands in Underwear Alley, get together between appoints and talk. Not necessarily about underwear but just be friendly. This is one thing I love about this industry. At these shows relationships are built and strengthened.

Every year brands come and go. I have a running list of brands that have ceased production. This year seems to be a lot more brands either closing or selling to someone else. Here are some of the brands that I will personally miss working with the owners/designers.

  • Blue Collar Underwear – I am not sure when exactly they went out of business. I kept getting bounce back emails and then their site was gone!
  • Pistol Pete – They are still around but long time owners Sami & Peter sold the brand. After 20 years they felt it was time to move on.
  • JM – They have been around longer than UNB. I used to talk to them at Magic. We should have done more with them.

There are a few other brands that I have talked to that are weighing options. I was a little down but then I talked to Hashtag Hooker this week. When talking to the CEO/Creative Director Andreu, I realized that the community will continue with new brands. And that change can be a good thing in the long run. But, let’s face it we all hate change, especially if our favorite underwear company closes it’s doors.

If you have a favorite brand show them support. Give great reviews of their pairs of underwear on their site or Amazon. Interact with them on social media, you may score some goodies! Join their email list so you know what they are doing. Lastly, buy from them! Especially through their own site.

This is not to be a post of chicken little saying the men’s underwear industry sky is falling. Just a lot of this news has knocked me off my game. I realize that I can’t hold on to the past and must embrace the new changes and brands. UNB will carry on and keep sharing great underwear and gear!

The Intymen line is a creative collection of traditional and erotic pieces that combine basic fits with modern intimate design elements such as C-Rings, pouch enhancement hammocks and other fun ways of enhancement. Intymen features a large variety of designs from classic underwear briefs to thongs, butt-lifting boxer briefs, see through garments, jocks, and swimwear. The Intymen Slip Bikini is a new underwear release that caught my eye and I thought looked like something I would like to try.

The Slip Bikini comes in navy & green, turquoise & white, or white & orange. The front contoured pouch is broad for comfort and also enhances the visibility of the manhood. The sides are designed with subtle sheer fabric with the seamless back to keep everything under wraps.

The Intymen Slip Bikini is made of 85.5% Polyamide, &.69% Spandex, and 6.81% Polyester. With that combination of fabrics, this pair of underwear will be supple and soft that gives you a perfect fit, enhances what you have, and gives you the comfort to wear them all day long. Guys can wear these bikinis to work, to sleep in, date night, or anywhere.

What really caught my eye is the style and different colors used for the different panels. I really liked the overall look of this bikini. The fabrics that are used would be soft and form fitting to give yourself a sexy look and all-day comfort. I also like the small waistband.

If this pair of underwear looks alluring to you, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. They are available now. I haven’t tried these out yet, but I want to get a pair. For more information or to order go to www.intymen.com.
