PPU Tuxedo 1312 Thong and 1325 Boxer BriefNeed some underwear for your wedding or to wear with your tux for other formal occasions? Now a days tuxedos aren’t just black and white. You have color options. So PPU added two new colors to their Tuxedo line of thongs and boxer briefs. They already offered the traditional colors of black and white in both the thong and boxer brief.

Now you can get your tuxedo thong or boxer brief in white or blue too. Both styles feature a gray wide waistband with the PPU brand name on it. The white version does have some red incorporated into the waistband. The blue features the v-neck display of the white shirt with a blue button(s) and bow tie on the pouch. For the white color, it has a red shirt for the v-neck opening with white button(s) and bow tie on the pouch. The original color black and white features a white waistband with a white shirt with black button(s) and bow tie on the pouch. The thong only shows one button while the boxer briefs shows three on the shirt on the pouch.

They are both made out of a stretch mircofiber fabric made of 93% nylon and 7% spandex. They describe the fabric as feeling great against your skin and forms an ultra smooth fit. Both the thong and boxer briefs are available in sizes small to extra-large.

The Tuxedo line 1312 and 1325 would make for a great pair of underwear for your wedding night. I’d push you to go for the thong for an extra special night. Though either choice would be a fun way to sure up your wedding day wear. They’d also be a great choice to wear under your formal wear for other events. Why not have fun with your underwear and be formal throughout your whole outfit.

Comfortable Club provided the Men’s Bliss Modal Trunk with Fly for review.

Rating: 8.6/10

  • Daily Fit: 10/10
  • Sizing: 8/10
  • Construction: 8/10
  • Styling: 7/10
  • Daily Performance: 10/10

Pros: The pair fits amazing, like a second skin. The fabric is super soft against your skin keeping you comfortable all day long. The pair includes a fly that is a top down style so it makes it look different.

Cons: The pair is fairly plain looking, just one solid color. There isn’t a distinct waistband which some people may not like. Not much of a pouch for people.

This is the first time I have ever worn a pair of underwear from Comfortable Club and I must say I was excited. The Men’s Bliss Modal Trunks with Fly were super soft when I pulled them out of the package. This pair is similar to what I enjoy wearing. I am a big fan of trunks so I was excited to try a new brand. I loved the Malibu Blue color as it is bright stylish.

I sort of did everything while wearing this pair of underwear. I went to work, ran errands, relaxed. Through everything put this pair through…they held up nicely and were comfortable. The pair stayed comfortable all day long, feeling smooth and soft against my skin.

This pair is made really well. The fabric is made of 92% Beechwood Modal and 8% Elastane. The trunks also feature a horizontal fly. It makes it easy to get your “junk” out quickly. The horizontal fly also adds a unique look to the pair. The stitching on the fabric is extremely soft as well…which makes you not even notice you are really wearing the underwear. The underwear also features a Modal covered tagless waistband.

I got size small and they fit me perfectly. I can wear small or medium depending on the underwear and the pair fit amazing. It hugs my bubble butt comfortably. The pair doesn’t have a real pouch but the fabric is flexible that you can fill it out and still be comfortable.

Overall I loved this pair of underwear. It is extremely soft against my skin and stays in place all day long no matter what you put it through. The waistband is soft and comfortable against your skin.  One cool thing they offer as a company is a 100-day guarantee. If you don’t like the pair, they will exchange or refund your purchase within 100 days of your purchase.

Nasty Pig is back with their last collection of 2016 and what better a launch for the shiny season than the Nasty Pig Titanium Collection. With the serious jet blackmodal and metallic (titanium) waistbands and iconic Nasty Pig pig logo front and center, this brief is going to get you noticed. It may be uncomplicated but it’s striking in it’s simplicity and the perfect brief for dressing up (could this be your new year’s outfit?) or getting down and dirty.

Choose either the Titanium Jockstrap or Titanium Brief (or both). With a jet-black pouch in Modal, our all-time favorite modern fabric. It’s natural, made from the beech tree, feels and wears like lycra but breathes like cotton. The double walled pouch won’t cramp your style (or your junk) as it’s not only contoured but the hint of spandex means it’s super stretchy. The pouch is edged with a contrasting grey piping for looks and added support. But what sends the jock and brief over the threshold of being basic to the precipice of ballastic is the above mentioned shiny metallic one and half inch wide waistband and the iconic pig logo front and center.

Our model Manny is putting both the brief and jock through their paces so we sure to hit our website to see the latest addition to our model roster.

The UNB Holiday Guide is out. We had a series of delays this year, so we were unable to release on Black Friday. With all that went wrong, we had a lot of fun shooting the guide. We shot it in the North Georiga Mountains. Which was an amazing location, however, we had wildfires a few miles away. This limited us to shoot indoors. This year’s guide features Clever, N2N Bodywear, Croota, JOR, Rounderwear, Dotwear, Krakatoa, and Cocksox.

I know we have quite a few jock fans out there. One company that always does interesting things with jocks is PPU. They make a series of jocks, jocks briefs, and well interesting designs. The new 1604 is more of a jock brief than a jock. It has the PPU spin on it as well. Which includes a great design and fun colors.

The official description is: “PPU Jockstrap is perfect for the guy who likes a sporty and sexy style. Incorporating a low rise, lean cut brief with a sporty jockstrap. On the front this piece combines two fabrics to turn the pair into a stylish design one.  You’re left with a look that’s body flattering and oh so sexy, perfect for any occasion”

It comes in two different color combinations. The first is white. But it’s not the plain white. It has green waistband/trim and a black design on the pouch. The second is Gray. Instead of green the waistband/trim in pink and the same black design on the pouch. I love both of these colors. I’m a big green fan so it’s hard for me to make up my mind on which one I like best. Let’s say I wouldn’t turn either one down! For those who want a solid color, there is as black version.

PPU is a Columbian brand so it may run smaller. Double check the official sizing chart for the exact sizes. When in doubt go up a size in this brand. Trust us you will be happier! If you’re a fan of Jock Briefs we think you need to check this pair out! It will add some spice to your underwear drawer just in time for the holidays! Or maybe get a jump on early Valentine’s Day date night undies!

There are very few things underwear guys agree on as much as the hatred for Tags/Labels. It consistently ranks high in our reader survey on issues you have with underwear. It’s a given you guys HATE them. But before we get into much more. They are a necessary in underwear. All garments must have tags that have care instructions and fabric content. This means we can’t eliminate them all together.

This post came about from a discussion in our Patreon Slack group. They are a group of guys who support UNB and get a place to talk amongst each other and the UNB editorial board. I asked them about some post ideas. Here are what two members said:

They can be really annoying inside underwear and many brands have gone tagless.  Not sure why all brands haven’t.  I have purchased underwear before that has tags in both the front and back, which seems excessive.  I also have purchased thongs before with a tag in the back that is wider than the thong strap.  I always cut them out but sometimes the extra tag piece can poke your skin which can be really annoying.

All designers should utilize a fabric stamp for thongs rather than a tag for thongs, much the way everyone is starting to do the same for t-shirts.  It’s annoying to pay good $ for underwear that doesn’t come in a 6-pack from Wal-Mart and then have to do surgery on the garment

I’m sure we can all agree when tags are annoying, there is nothing worse. I have taken a pair off mid day and either cut or ripped the tag out. It had to go. One pair that I couldn’t take it out (I had no scissors), got taken off and I went commando. Which is something I hate doing but it was the best alternative.  So how do we fix this issue?

Make them smaller and softer

First, some brands do a great job with tags. They are small and soft enough to not be noticed. If more brands use tags that reflect the size of the pair. A thong’s tag should be smaller than a pair of Boxer briefs. The material they use should be super soft. There are brands that do this well. I rarely notice the tags.

Make them Tearable

Next, make the tags tearable. Meaning, design them to they can easily be removed without using scissors.  Some brands have used perforated tags that you can just rip out. This would be the best with mesh pairs. If you are like me, you don’t want to have a big white tag showing in a pair of black mesh briefs or boxer briefs.

Print Labels on Fabric

Lastly, print the labels directly on the fabric. As one of our Patrons pointed out, it’s now standard for t-shirts to have printed labels on them. This couldn’t happen in all pairs due to the material (see mesh above). One brand that really impressed me with this is Cocksox. The Sports Mesh brief had the tag printed inside the pouch. It was easily read and you don’t notice it!

These are a few solutions about tags. Let us know what you think of the tag issue.

I am a big fan of bikinis! The other week while on Twitter I ran across Jordano Basics. An underwear company out of Mexico. In the last year, Mexico has  had some really fun brands emerge. There seems to be a trend that isn’t slowing down. I have reached out to them to get more information about them! We hope to have that soon.

The collection has a basic feel. Which as I have explained last week isn’t a bad thing. This design of a bikini has been one of my favorites. It’s got about a half inch covered waistband that is lower on the hips. There isn’t an ergonomically designed pouch but if it’s like other pairs I have had, it won’t be an issue. The spandex in the fabric has a good amount of support.

A beautiful classics bikini brief made in thin and soft fusion of lycra and cotton that keeps you fresh and comfortable when you wear them  Exclusive low hip design to make it more sexy and invisible  They fit incredibly!

I really love this pair. It reminds me of some of my favorite pairs I have had over the years. This pair is available in a few colors. White, Gray, Black and more. The best thing about this, it’s just over $10. The prices you will see on their page are in Mexican Pesos, so 219 Pesos roughly converts to $10.11 (will depend on currency rates)

I hope you will check out all the pairs they have to offer. Jordano Basics has other pairs of underwear, swimwear and more!

Tis the season to go underwear shopping. If you’re like a lot of our readers, you buy your undies yourself. Over the last few years, I have found there are a few different guys who love undies. These are generalities and I’m sure some of you fit more than one category.

Newest and Latest

We have readers who are massive underwear lovers. Their collections are in the 1,000s. I have spoken to readers who have 2,000 pairs and up. These guys love to have the latest and greatest pairs of underwear. They aren’t brand loyal, per se, but they have their favorites. They have several favorite brands. When new and different pairs come out. They want them in every color and style. Price really isn’t an issue.

Full Price Collector

Similar to the one above. They have a large collection and prefer a few brands. Usually around 3-4 key brands. When new pairs come out they buy them right away. They don’t want to wait on sales, they want the pairs now. They will own every pair a brand puts out. Usually in every color as well. Price is not an issue for this guy either. Can be style specific or many different styles.

Brand Loyal

We have guys who love specific brands. Unlike above, they don’t buy every pair the brand releases. But, they stick with one or two brands they love. They don’t deviate too much. They have a specific style they buy as well.  Example, is we have had guys who love Calvin Klein Boxer Briefs/Trunks. Or they may like a specific line, such as the CK Steel line. They buy full price and on sale.

Style Loyal

While these guys may not be loyal to one brand they prefer a specific style. The biggest example right now are thongs. Guys who love thongs try many different brands. They enjoy trying new brands to find the right fit. I fit this one most of all. I prefer briefs/bikinis with a great pouch.

Bargain Hunter

The last type of guy is the bargain hunter. Deals are most important. You search close outs and deal sites to get the cheapest undies you can get. We’re not talking cheap as in quality but in price. Shopping sites like Cheapundies.com, discount big box stores, and more. Price is most important.

These are a few guys I have identified over the years. As I said above, you can fall in just one or several of these categories. And there is nothing wrong with being any of these underwear shoppers. I’m jealous of the newest and latest, I wish I had the money for that!

PPU 1603 ThongPPU likes to get creative with their underwear designs. If you’re looking for a thong or a g-string that is a bit different then PPU’s 1603 is one to consider. From the front you’ll ask yourself is it a thong? Or is it a g-string? From the back you’ll see it is a g-string.

What stands out of this pair is the two different waistband styles. You have the wide sporty elastic on one side and then a thin g-string type elastic on the other. The thin elastic then threads through the thick elastic in the back to attach to the pouch. This thong is available in 4 colors: black, green, red, and white. The black is all over black. What they call green is more of a turquoise. It has a white thick waistband with a blue stripe down the middle. The thin elastic waistband is blue and runs around the pouch also. The red has a white thick waist band with a red stripe, but the thin waistband is white. Gray is used for the thick waistband on the white pair. The thin side is a light blue. The thin waistband runs around the pouch on all of these thongs.

The pouch is centered seamed for support and definition. The fabric is a microfiber that is made of 93% nylon and 7% spandex. PPU 1603 thong is available in sizes small to extra large and are made in Colombia.

I’m one that likes to stick with a standard design for my underwear, but this is one I’d consider. What I like about this pair is it’s one that isn’t too far out there. The design appears like it would still work well for everyday underwear, which is my goal with my underwear purchases. This would be a great thong or g-string to add a little character to the drawer.

I know a lot of you guys love thongs. We thought we would profile something a bit different. The Good Boy Gone Bad Arthur Thong in Camo. What makes this different is the thong is not very wide. But it appears there should be plenty of room in the pouch.

PPU 1607 Bikini

Hey bikini lovers and PPU fans, we are introducing you to bikini style 1607 from PPU. This is a new bikini they’ve added to their 2017 collection. What makes this bikini a bit different than others is the two metal rings that create a figure eight uniting each side. PPU also adds different color piping to give some pop to this bikini.

The 1607 bikini is available in 3 colors with contrasting piping along the waist and leg openings. The color options are black, green, and white. The black has gold piping and gold stitching down the center seam of the pouch. The piping on the green is white, but the center seam is in a green thread. The white bikini’s piping and center pouch seam are light blue. The fabric is advertised as a silky microfiber fabric forming a smooth, body-defining fit. It’s a blend of 90% nylon and 10% spandex. One more thing with the fabric is it has little hearts embossed in it adding even a little more character to this bikini.

What interests me about this pair is the accented piping and the embossed fabric. I’ve been drawn to pairs that have color accenting to their piping and stitching. I like how the embossing gives the fabric some texture. Both of these give this pair some personality, which is nice to have in a pair of underwear. Of course, the metal rings do too, which is a feature I haven’t tried in a pair yet.

If you want something that is on the classic side, but with some flare then you need to check out the PPU 1607 bikini. It’s a pretty classic bikini cut with its narrow sides and a back cut that just shows off enough. The metal side rings, accent piping, and embossed fabric brings the fun into this bikini.

We all want to feel like a hero in our underwear. Sliding our favorite pair on will give us secret super powers that allow us to conquer evil and take on the day. That maybe a big over the top, but we all want great underwear that makes us feel great. One company that does it for me is Sukrew. They just released the new Hero Sprints.

The Sprints are a line of longer boxer briefs. We just reviewed the Sukrew Sprints and it was pretty great. I loved them. The newest in the collection are the Hero Sprints. What makes it a hero? Well, the colors definitely are superhero inspired. The Blue, white and red. Especially the red pouch. When you think of superheroes they always seem to have red briefs on over their spandex. Am I right?

The Hero Sprints have a white waistband and white panels on the sides. The main body is blue. The contrasting red is the pouch and the leg trim. It’s a really great design. Made with the awesome Sukrew pouch, this is a win-win in my book.

Sukrew makes fun and amazing underwear. The colors are great for the guy who wants to show off his undies. I could see guys wearing these at the gym, showing under some gym shorts. The bright red trim would catch people’s attention. Or it could be worn to work, but without the showing off (well, that depends on your job!).

If you haven’t tried Sukrew, what are you waiting for? These are a great starter pair. Also, you may see the U Sprints with no pouch. Talk about show off!

Reading UNB puts you automatically in the influencers in underwear. I say this, not because I think UNB Is awesome (but it is 🙂 ). Rather, you guys have accepted that you can wear any type of underwear you want and it can be your secret or share it with the world. You guys experiment with fabrics, styles, colors and more. You have embraced the wonders that is good men’s designer underwear. As each month goes by you guys never cease to amaze me!

However, sometimes when we get hooked on great undies, there is one section we leave out of our underwear drawer. Those are called the classics. I”m not talking about the six packs from big box stores. Or any other ill-fitting pairs we grew up on. I am talking about great pairs that have classic styling but made impeccably. A classic white brief with a waistband. Or a simple boxer brief made out of amazing fabric. Yes, these styles are solids in the mainstay colors of navy, white, black or gray.

When I first started to wear better underwear, I swore off the white briefs. Hell, I wouldn’t even buy a white pair for about 5 years. It was one color I avoided. Colors like blue, red, green, yellow and other bright hues were my go to. Wearing white just seemed like I was going against my love of underwear. I mean “Who would wear white briefs? You need something more fun!”

It wasn’t till a few years later that I discovered white briefs could be great undies. Brands like Calvin Klien and 2(X)IST made great undies that had the tighy whitie style. It blew my mind! There is something about wearing white briefs under a tux for me.

I know many out there are reading this and saying, I still don’t like them. We even had a model in our Holiday Guide (out soon), who said he would never wear white briefs. It’s to each their own but I think classics deserve a place in men’s underwear and on UNB.

Who makes amazing classics? There are a few companies doing a great job

  • Todd Sanfield Collection – the new line is very classic. Made out of amazing material and in more colors than just white.
  • Oryx Wear – Since it’s inception, Oryx Wear has a very classic vibe in it’s design. Plus, they aren’t afraid of color.
  • Krakatoa Underwear – Krakatoa has taken the classic up a notch. They have taken the classic design and moved

These are just a few of the brands doing great work in classics. Plus, they are a great way to introduce other guys into underwear! Think gift ideas!
