Men’s Underwear

Category

photo 3Have you ever been walking down the main shopping thoroughfare of a mid-sized Scandanavian city only to find yourself caught amdist a wintry downpour of freezing rain and light snow?

Of course you have. Who hasn’t?

Well this recently happened to me when I was in Sweden, and I had to duck into a local department store to wait the weather out. It was also a good excuse to engage in one of my favorite activities when I’m abroad: checking out the local underwear scene.

As I perused the aisles. Vividly imagining what Alexander Skarsgard would look like in all of the underwear offerings. I came across a brand I hadn’t seen before: Bread & Boxers. Despite the name, the stark white package in front of me had my favorite word in the whole world emblazoned on the bar code sticker: “brief”.

Everything about the package seemed intriguing. The spare packaging without an overload of graphics promised a garment that was so awesome that it didn’t need a half-naked dude on the package. But it also suggested that the garment itself would be as basic as the packaging. So, with my mind swimming with curiosity. I picked up two pairs the briefs (one white, one grey), headed towards the register. Handed my krona over to the cashier and then towards the exit.

As I left the Ahlens department store, the rain suddenly tapered off. Almost as if God herself arranged the weather photo 2interlude, so that I could discover and buy this brand of underwear.

When I returned to the states, I unpacked the brief and set them aside. It would be another pair that would enter the queue; not unlike dozens of other impulse underwear buys strewn across my bedroom. I did happen to notice it the other day, however, still clad in a package that is so spartan. I lovingly picked it up, pulled out the brief and put them on for a day of work. They made it through the day reasonably well.

The fact that they’re designed by Swedes isn’t a shock. They reflect that milieu of Scandanavian design concepts: spare, modern, elegant. As for the wear, they didn’t really stand out as anything either very good or very bad. They just were. For an undergarment on a workday, I’d say they were successful in that they supported me in a way that wasn’t a distraction.

Construction-wise, The brief is 84% organic cotton and 6% elasthene. A bit of stretch is provided by the latter material. The brief is primarily comprised of a single layer of fabric, save the front, which is lined. I love when briefs are constructed of a single layer of cotton, especially white ones, since they appear semi-transparent when they are put on. The brief offers full coverage on the seat and at its narrowest, the sides are 3.75 inches. They’re a little full cut for my own tastes, but that’s just me. I’m sure other guys out there will like the sheer simplicity and ease of the garment. It’s tagless in the back, with a little brand label sewn onto the band on the left hip.

I bought them in Euro size small (I’m somewhere between a North American medium and small) and they fit snugly, but not in a tourniquet cutting off vital systems sort of way. I’d say if you’re in between sizes like I am, go up if you want to breathe a little, but go down a size if you want to be a little bit of an exhibitionist.

Since I do work in the scientific field, I did what any good investigator would do and reviewed the literature. What I find most intriguing is the origin of the brand. If you go to the about the brand page on their site, they said that the idea for these minimal briefs was born from an instance where two friends were on travel and their luggage was lost. The brand then became something that was supplied to hotels for them to provide the garments to travelers who suffered the same fate, or as their site refers to it, an extension of the mini-bar. They were offered in rooms, and were such a hit, that guests began to ask for them in stores near them, and that’s all she wrote.

In summary, I’d recommend them to someone who’s looking an elevated basic: a high end brief that is simple, yet functional.

10857872_766718503412788_7960178544848575302_nI will admit I love brands from Japan. They are super fun and have their own way of doing men’s underwear. I also can’t fit in the underwear. It’s always cut super small in size and design. Which makes me sad but I can still appreciate the lines.

This week we want to point out brands that will get you may not have considered before. One of those brands is Tyler Bold. Which proclaims on their site that they are Japans Number 1 underwear brand. Unlike previous Asian brands we covered I would consider Tyler Bold to be more conservative in their designs. It’s not to say they don’t have thongs and jocks but their colors are a bit sutler. So you won’t find the bright pinks and funky patterns we have covered.

A lot of their undies looks very western in comparison to the other brands. I say this because it could be a high end 1463071_773742662710372_8376458285381430692_nbrand in the US. But they have one thing that most western companies don’t have, that is the Super Bikini. Bikinis are making a comeback in the US but only a few brands make them. The Super Bikinis are small cut bikinis (compared to our standards) and some of the barely coverage in the back. This I have noticed in a few brand that you show cleavage in the back in some Asian brands.

Now I know what you are thinking now, “but what are the sizing?” Well, that’s a very good question. I have tried to find it on their site and haven’t been successful. The only sizes listed are Medium and large. Which I would be safe to assume the large would be around a 32 waist, and that would be on the top end of the scale. Most brand I have found in the region, the largest size I have seen is an XL up to a 34 waist.

I think that Tyler Bold is a great company for those who want to try some brands from Japan. Especially if you don’t want to go all in on some wild colors or patterns. It’s very low key and really cool. Like a lot of western brand they have a branded waistband on some of the pairs and traditional colors. Prices are also pretty good, most of the pairs average around 2,000 Yen. This may sound like it’s a lot but with the current exchange rate it’s about $17 US. Which is not a bad price for underwear when many of us pay $30 or more for a pair.

You can’t find them in the US and will need to order them from the Tyler Bold site.

6 Bikinis

I’ve been wearing bikinis (or bikini briefs) for the past 20+ years.  Thankfully, this underwear style has come a long way in that time.  Below are six of my favorite pairs available for purchase today, in no particular order.  I actually own all but one of these pairs, which I plan on correcting very soon!

222180Cover Male – Cheeky Bikini.  (Available at freshpair.com for US $23)
This pair is a fun “cheeky” mix between a bikini brief and a thong, showing off a lot more cheek than a traditional bikini back without riding up too much.  The stretchy microfiber fabric has a shiny finish to it that adds to the edginess of the pair.  This is the pair for someone who is a little more daring in their underwear choices.
UN82-12-AN2N – Air Bikini (Available at n2nbodywear.com for US $20)
N2N is by far one of my favorite underwear brands and they never go wrong with their styles.  I chose the Air Bikini because of the freedom of movement they provide with the open leg (aka “string bikini”) design.  This pair is extremely comfortable to wear, so comfortable that I usually forget I have them on.
IS_UND_Billy_Plain_Blue_1_130305105041Aussiebum – Billy (Available at aussiebum.com for US $12.86)
I tried this pair a couple of years ago because of the fun patterns (also available in solid colors); and I’m glad I did.  They’re made from a lightweight cotton that very comfortable to wear.  Aussiebum continues to release new patterns for this style brief, so continue to check back if you’re one that likes fun patterns.  (Note:  The Billy line is also available as a trunk, but I haven’t tried it yet.)
Unknown-136Rufskin – Virgo (Available at rufskin.com for US $21)
This isn’t a brand that I hear much about, but I discovered it a couple of years ago and make a point to try out their new pairs every year.  This year, I found this pair which reminded me a lot of the bikinis from the late 80s and 90s.  I purchased a pair and, when I pulled it on the first time, I was reminded of my very first bikinis all those years ago.  This is the pair for you if you’re looking for an update on that “blast from the past” or enjoy the retro look.
9687_4389cAndrew Christian – Almost Naked Spree Brief (Available at andrewchristian.com for US $20.20)
This is the one pair that I don’t yet own, but I plan to make a purchase soon.  I absolutely love the Almost Naked line for its “hang free” design; I love all underwear that feel like you’re wearing nothing at all yet still look sexy and are comfortable.  What draws me to this pair the most is the contrast waistband with the crisscross feature just above the pouch.
31949Intymen – Sport Brief (Available at freshpair.com for US $21.50)
I was only supposed to include five pairs in this post, but when I saw these were still available for purchase at FreshPair, I just had to include them.  Want to wear a pair that are so light, yet provide good support throughout the day?  This pair is a must have!  I have several of these and am always amazed how well they hold up after a long day at work, a tough workout, or a grueling tennis match.
Of course, there are many other wonderful bikinis in the market today.  What are your favorites?  What pair would you recommend to someone who is trying this style for the first time?

Wallpapers-5-899x599There are two things that catch my eye with underwear (outside of the obvious), and they are color and waistbands. Color has become the biggest factors in buying underwear for me over the year. The use of bright colors, blocks of colors and prints are carry a lot of weight with me.

I was going through my Facebook and I have an interest set up of “undies stuff.” It has all my underwear pages and brands and Idol Underwear came across my feed via Alpha Male Undies. The pictures were of the Day Vision brief. It’s clean, classic with a bit of pop in the waistband. This pair spurred my interest in finding out more about the brand.

Wallpapers-4-899x599They have a very interesting story on the creation. George formed the company and says this on the website “Hi my name is George and I am the founder of IDOL Underwear. I consider myself a citizen of the world, without borders, boundaries and prejuges. I travelled the beach cities of our beautiful planet all my life and I was always amazed by the beach idols of barcelona, playa del ingles, rio, tel aviv and so many hidden or not beaches. Therefore what a better name for my underwear brand than IDOL ? And also a perfect inspiration for the models I have designed in Barcelona, to fit perfectly the beach idols anatomy. I have put years of passion in my brand and I have made no compromise on the design , on the fabrics and on the production process. One year of creating the samples and finding the right fabrics, luxurious, was followed by a strict half a year of AQL production process implemented by SGS International (www.sgs.com). No room for errors because i am creating for IDOLS!”

Each line has a distinctive waistband as well. The Day vision has a very clean band that goes with the classic cut of the pair. Other types of bands range form sporty with the Night Vision/Lucky pairs and colorful graphic of the Tropicality line. For those out there who love waistband I think you need to check this brand out.

Wallpapers-6-899x599

The line consists of briefs, boxer briefs and jocks. The line has more briefs than any other style. Which to me is not a bad thing at all. I think the briefs are coming back as more brands like Idol are making more of them than any others. The boxers look like they have a great pouch built in the design. Which looks like it will fit amazing. Lastly are the jocks. Right now they are just two designs and I hope we get to see a lot more.

The fabric is another area that they are paying attention too. As mentioned above in the quote, they searched for the right fabrics. Using Bamboo and Modal men’s it will be super soft and comfortable through the day. Many of my new favorites are Modal. The feeling against the skin is just amazing. Having more companies use it is a great thing.

My favorites on the site are: Ultimate Boxer in White/Turquoise, Day Vision in White (both brief and boxer), Tropicality (both) and the Lucky Red in blue. I love what they are doing.

To see the collection go over to the Idol Underwear Site and see all the pairs.

ss12_c-in2_4013_white_100-fNothing cause more controversy with me and friends than talking underwear. If you’re like me you have friends who are into underwear or willing to try new things. This has gotten me the reputation to be teh go to guy for suggestions for new pairs. I know a guy who’s a boxer lover (yes I have friends who are, I don’t get it but they are friends) a thong to wear. The same goes for a brief lover, I’d never recommend a boxer.

So it got me thinking. I love patterns and colors and it’s another way to me express myself. But not all guys see it this way. We even have readers who love different cuts but like to keep it very traditional. They love briefs, trunks and boxer briefs. The colors are classic (white, black, navy and etc) and don’t go for crazy waistbands. Names and branding on waistbands are a way they reject brands. To me this would be insane!

But is this wrong? Should all guys step out and try new things and branch out? As the title says is it boring or just right? Before I started writing this blog I wanted to get every guy in the US to try bikinis. But after writing the blog I have talked to so many guys who love every kind of underwear out there. Nothing really surprises me any more when I talk to readers.

Early on in the life of UNB. I got the chance to really talk to one of our readers who very much was a classic guy. He had a strict set of guidelines on how he liked his underwear. He only liked white or black. The waistband had to mach the color, no two toned underwear. Then the fabric had to be good quality cotton. Lastly, it had to hold its shape and give great support. To me this seemed boring at the time.

As I look back it made me think we all have our own criteria we use for underwear. Some of us have more than others (over almost 7 years I have heard it all). I think if you want to stick with conservative underwear its fine. As long as its not a 6 pack at a discount store, I have no issues. If you want 2(X)ist Essentials, CK White briefs, go for it. I think we need to support out classic wearing underwear brothers. We don’t want people criticizing our undies so we should support anyone wearing better underwear. Just go after the ones buying it at a discount store!

cheapundies_0008_layer26_1024x1024
I have been very interested in the Cheap Undies website lately because it is amazing to find such great underwear at such unbelievable prices.  I also love the fact that this business has been able to develop their own brand on top of selling so many other wonderful brands.  Everyday at 12:00pm I wonder what the new special will be.  I decided to experience another personal selection of theirs and purchased the Cheap Undies Bulge Brief.  For underwear so cheap, you have to wonder if the quality is going to be there.  What I can say about this pair, is the price is the only thing that is cheap about them!

First impressions, whether we like it or not, are a big deal.  If you look at the picture on their site for this pair of underwear, you CHEAPUNDIES_0006_Layer28_1024x1024immediately notice how fantastic they look on this man’s body.  When I received the pair in the mail, the first impressions kept on coming.  I loved the sexy black waistband, with black piping, against a neon green vibrant color.  The Cheap Undies logo on the waistband is in a fun yet sophisticated font.  Finally the touch.  Holding this cotton/elastane mix in my hand had my excited for what I could only imagine would be a comfortable fit.

I slipped the pair on and prepared myself for a busy work day.  I wear a medium and the sizing was great.  It fit everywhere it needed to with no problems or discomfort.  Being called a bulge brief you know there will be extra room and support in the front.  I am your basic average guy in that department but the bigger men should have no problem.  This pair felt amazing all day long.  I can honestly say that I NEVER had a problem of discomfort with this pair for the entire day.  From sitting to standing to working out, this pair held up great.

As I said before, the price may be cheap but there is nothing cheap about the quality of this brief.  This is what a basic brief in any collection should be and Cheap Undies nailed it!  I feel like a really good pair of underwear can get a steady 9 in a review.  But this pair, deserves a 10!  Now I need to go buy the other colors!

Pros:

  • Very soft and comfortable
  • Appealing design
  • Amazing price

Cons:

  • Larger selection to load up on!

Ratings:

  • Daily Fit = 10
  • Sizing = 10
  • Construction/Materials = 9.5
  • Styling = 9.5
  • Daily Performance = 10
  • Overall =10

This pair is available at Cheap Undies for $8.95

narciso-swimwear-2015-004-1Are you a guy who loves colors and patterns? If you are then a brand we have covered a little on the blog is for you. That brand is Narciso. They are based out of Argentina and have a really great design aesthetic. They do underwear and swimwear mainly with a bit of lounge/activewear.

Who is Narciso? You have seen them on our Facebook page and blog a few times. They do amazing campaigns for each season. They just released the new swimwear campaign for 2015. They have a philosophy “Create intimate clothing and gear for the masculine public that allows them to have a distinctional factor to the conventional thing that they can find in the market”.

They just released their “Summer” campaign for their new swimwear collection. Which is the perfect time because the southern hemisphere is in summer and the northern hemisphere is getting ready for summer (I know it’s Feb but how many of us are looking forward to summer). The collection is pretty much all trunk. Meaning square cuts not board shorts or swim shorts. That also means there are no swim briefs. They have done some in the past but not right now.

narciso-swimwear-2015-001-1

The underwear collection is massive! They have everything form classic colors and cuts to some bright fun prints and everything in between. Unlike the swimwear the underwear has styles ranging from boxer briefs to thongs. Its a very diverse underwear line. I can’t go through everything but you should go over and check out what they have to offer. You will find something you will like.

Where can you find Narciso? The best place is their website. I can’t recall a site or store that still carries them in the US. There used to be a few but they have all stopped carrying the brand. Go check out the entire collection!

Over the last few years we have a set of posts that gets traffic long after the pairs on them have been retired. Those are underwear for endowed guys. I think these posts are so popular because endowed guys face a challenge in finding underwear that fits. Speaking from experience, it sucks when you see an amazing pair of underwear and then think to yourself “There is no way that pouch will contain me”

This has happened so many times to me. Its hard to find underwear that fits and gives amazing support. That is not to say its impossible. Over the last year I have tried some new brands and have some standards that every endowed guy should own. And the pairs are not all about showing off, its about great comfort. Comfort is the number one factor for me finding underwear.

I am going to give you some brands to go research that will make it easier to shop. I will mix it up the styles because not everyone is a brief fan like I am.

B7a12saIMAEEYl6Sukrew – When they first came on the market they had pairs without any pouch. All your business just hung out. I was skeptical of how this would work. But their briefs and trunks came out and have an amazing pouch. It’s one of the most comfortable pouches of 2015. I reviewed a pair of the Tartan briefs. When I slide them on I knew they would be amazing. The pouch really conforms to a guy and gives you such amazing support. The way the pouch was designed it can fit guys of all sizes not just the endowed. I will say I didn’t notice too big a bulge in my pants but its a pair that is just amazing and I will be buying more of these.

9623 _6_Andrew Christian – Not only does Andrew Christian have one line but they have two lines that are great for endowed guy. The two lines are Trophy Boy & Almost Naked. The Trophy boy is made for the super endowed guy. Meaning is you are way above average these will fit. Where as the Almost naked isn’t marketed for endowed but has an ergonomically designed pouch. The Trophy boy I call the Magnum condom of underwear, guy want to brag they can fill them out (not that its a bad thing!). I like the Trophy boy line but is a little looser cut and not as much support to me as the Almost Naked. But this is a personal preference and you may like the cut and support of the Trophy Boy. This however is not a factor for me not to buy them. I have a few pairs and do enjoy them.

gold2International Jock John Sievers – This brand is one that is a hidden gem at International Jock. I think very few of the mainstream population knows this brand. It’s very well made and has an amazing pouch. While not specifically marketed to endowed guys, it is one of the best on the market for us. I haven’t seen this brand out in the wild that much, meaning i don’t see guys posting pics in them or guy wearing them out. Don’t let that fool you thought. They have a massive amount of colors and the most popular cuts. The line is designed and sold exclusively at International Jock. I have a pair of the Gold and I was more than pleased with the pair. Each time I talk to a guy who has tired them, they swear by them. Take note they aren’t the cheapest undies but finding a pair that fits, sometimes price isn’t a factor.

blue_miniBig Boys Pants – The name says it all here! These pants (UK for underwear) is made for big boys. This brand I have reviewed a few times here and is a lot more classic in their cuts and colors. So if you like to be a little more conservative in your underwear this would be a great brand for you. The materials and pouch are top notch. I have tried the boxers and briefs, each totally exceeded my expectations each time I tired them. The best thing about the brand is they designed a pouch specifically for them. Next, each pair is made out of modal so it feels so damn amazing on your skin.

csx_grey6

Cocksox – Where do I begin with this brand? It is one of the first pairs I have even tried. The CX01 bikini is a staple in my underwear drawer. I love wearing it! But one of the things you should know is that you will show off everything you have! That is with the original Cocksox. The pouch is like a wonder jock for women. It takes everything you have and shows it off to the world. There are some situations where this would be a problem but sometimes you want the attention. As in most underwear brands, I prefer the briefs more. But all their underwear is great. I have tried I think everything they have in their catalog. Each fit very well and you won’t have any problems with it being too small.

These are just a few brands right now I swear by. There are more on the market such as Ergowear (which I will be getting new pairs to review) and Obviously. More makers of underwear are making pairs for this market. Which is a great thing. As I try more brands I”ll let you know!

1559637_958987924128629_8772126229882752198_nIn out week of profiling new brands, I think Toot will be the one most readers will be familiar with. Toot is a company out of Japan that came to my attention a few years ago when a friend wore them. At the time I only knew them as small trunks that had Toot written across the back. They were fun and sexy.

Over the last year or so they have been harder to find on the US market. I used to see them at a few online stores and now I don’t think they have much of a presence at all. Which is sad because they make really great undies. And if you’re asking they do more than trunks. They also to briefs, leggings (long johns), swimwear and activewear.10408099_964191170274971_2231780093617889842_n

The one thing I LOVE about Japanese underwear designers is they don’t play by the “masculine rules”. Which is to say, they don’t say only underwear can be black, grey and white and only in a boxer brief or full cut brief. They experiment with fabrics, colors, prints and styles. There really is nothing off limits to them. I think more brands in the US would do the same if the underwear buy public (outside of guys reading this blog) would buy it.

One of the best designs I think they have is the Plaid (or Tartan as our European friends would say). Toot calls these the Check Bias cut boxer. But we just call them plaid. Another one that really had me do a double take are the Pez boxers. Which have the Pez logon the back. Its not a brand that I would think to put on underwear. For those who don’t know Pez is candy that is dispensed out of the head of a cartoon character.

The collection on the site is massive on their site. They have separate sections for Colors and Basics. This is on top of the regular sections. The colors have just about every color you can imagine in their trunk cut. Most are bright and fun. Where as the Basics is just that, a basic collection of underwear in white/grey/black. I’m not anti classic, there is a time and place for everything and I think every guy should own a few pairs.

10933866_986880178006070_3821377696727341609_n

Who should check out Toot? Any guy who wants some fun and colorful underwear. Prints and colors are important and you’re not afraid to wear some colors that always thought of in men’s underwear. Also, for guys who are a bit smaller. Like most Japanese underwear its done to fit the Japanese public and no the US market. So if you’re above a 34 inch waist you may have some issues. That said I love the brand and hope you take sometime and go check out all the pairs and swimwear!

IS_LFHR_Billy_maze-red_01_150209150630aussieBum just refreshed the Billy Boy range. If your’e not familiar the Billy Boy line is a series of bikinis. They released them last year and has retro prints from the 80’s. This made the line super fun. Then they released some solids, but I”m glad the awesome prints are back. They really fit this line very well.

The new prints are Maze and Polaris. The maze prints are pretty straight forward. It’s a maze design with bright colors and either a white or black background. I”m not sure you’ll be able to find the end of the maze in this design! The Polaris is more of a kaleidoscope design. Its funky, fun and different. The back grounds in this one are green and white.

This line really makes me happy. aussieBum always makes undies that fit a guys personality. If you want basic, they have it and if you want something wilder you now have these amazing prints. Its also good to see a true bikini on the market. This reminds me of the great bikinis during the 80’s. They are slowly making a come back and I am glad to se it. These are on my list to get!

They retail for almost $13 on the aussieBum site. Get one or get them all!

Nukleus-Underwear-01

This week while I am at magic we are bringing you 9 brands we think you should know and Nukleus is the first. These brands, some of you may have heard of but others may not. A few we have mentioned on the blog but never gone into much detail. So we hope you enjoy this segment and maybe find a new brand to try.

Nukleus is a brand I am familiar with only because BikiniboiATL on Twitter has posted pics in the line and loves them. Other than that I am not very familiar with them. Who is Nukleus? They are a brand out of Penang, Malaysia. They make both environmentally but socially responsible products. How do that do this? “Using innovative and sustainable production methods, we make innerwear and basics from eco-friendly materials such as organic cotton, Lenzing Tencel and organic bamboo.”

Nukleus-Underwear-02

This is really great an underwear company is not only in the business to make great underwear. They want give back to the environment and people who supply their raw materials. But how does this transform into great undies? Well they have a few collections right now including the Rebirth Collection (feat. Earth, Tree and See series), Fruit Series (feat. Blueberry, Honeydew, Mangosteen, Watermelon, The Quintet (Metal, Plant, Water, Fireand Earth series).

  • The Rebirth Collection – The Rebirth Collection is for the man who never goes out of style. Classic and time-honoured, this collection is designed for the eternal Nukleus man: age defying and unaffected by mortal limitations.
  • The Fruit Series – Enjoy the fruits that are grown near you. They’re fresher, tastier, better. That’s because they’re closer to you in space and time. Which in turn means less environmental impact. Local fruits: good for you, good for Earth. Just like Nukleus.
  • The Quintet – In The Quintet, Nukleus takes an unconventional look at this critical issue. Covering five facets of our planet, the collection alludes to Asian stories about how we can restore balance or prevent the unbalance from worsening. All in all, these stories offer grounds for hope and optimism – that it isn’t too late to act, that we can still make a difference.

Each of these is fashionable and good for the environment. Where can you find the brand? Well it is available on Ebay (where BikiniboiATL gets his). Which is the easiest way to get them in the US. Search Ebay but you can go to the Nukleus website to find out more about each line.

Pink Underwear is one of my favorite colors to wear. Its not because it’s bucking the masculine color or its wild. But, because I look great in pink. Guys have been wearing pink since the 80’s and men’s underwear has incorporated the color in their line up in the last 10 years.
So if you want to wear pink, what are some choices right now? I have a few favorites that you should check out that feature a variety of styles. So there is one in here for everyone.

tof-catMany of our readers are familiar with Tom of Finland. If you’re not he’s an erotic artist who became well known in the 70’s and 80’s. His hyper masculine men became a icon in the gay world. The leather jacket and cut off shorts became trade marks of his art work. The artist who drew Tom of Finland, Touko Laaksonen, died in 1991. But the Tom of Finland legacy lives on.

Rufskin has a new limited edition collection based on Tom of Finland. The designs incorporate some of the artwork and others are just inspired by the brand. Ruskin is a perfect fit for a Tom of Finland collaboration. The brand has often reminded me of Tom of Finland. Its sexy but always masculine. There is a range from shirts to underwear in this collection. Ruskin used their own style to mesh with the iconic Tom of Finland. The new collection is limited edition so it won’t be around long. If you are a fan of the line then shop early.

I think this is great for Ruskin and is a super sexy collection. Check it out at the Tom of Finland page on the Ruskin site. Pics are the entire collection.

GMACxCAZ-Trio-uncroppedThis week we got the chance to talk to Cazwell, the hip hop artist/dj, behind the hit “Ice Cream Truck.” The music video has over 9 million views on YouTube. So how do you go from being artist to starting your own underwear line? We had to chance to talk to Cazwell this week and here is what we found out.

We asked him how did you decide to come up with an underwear line? He said he wasn’t an underwear connoisseur . He never spent $30 for underwear in the past and he was one of the few guys who bought underwear in three packs. When approached by Geoffrey Mac about a line, they originally talked about doing basketball shorts and a shirt line. But, instead he told Geoffrey Mac he always wanted to do an underwear line. He brought an idea to the table about a line based on his name but nothing stuck. Then they decided to go with the Ice Cream Truck idea. Once the idea as hatched Caswell went to work on the brand.

I asked him what the most difficult thing was about starting a brand. He spoke of the waistband was hardest things to get right. Being a small brand on a limited budget they couldn’t do some of their ideas. Big brands have the ability to embroider underwear waistbands but they did a creative approach. They made it reminds you of the old ice cream shops, including stripes and sprinkles. Cazwell said the bands will look great because they took the time finding right elastic band that would take the colors. They also look good when stretched but not deteriorate the color. The goal was to have it to look good and feel good.

Then I asked him what the best thing about starting a brand. He said the possibilities are endless like music. He likes to work with themes in writing music, designing clothing or party planning. When it was determined that Ice cream truck it was going to be a theme. The underwear is super cute without being over the top. Has a retro 50’s ice cream truck. Cazwell pointed out that he likes it when you see the underwear pop out under jeans or basket ball short. This leads into the future plans. He said they hope to expand colors and maybe go into swimwear!

I really enjoyed talking to Cazwell. He’s very grounded and I can tell is having fun with the underwear line. The original colors are a lot of fun. The line will hopefully grow and we will see the swimwear! Because swimwear inspired by ice cream I can see some amazing things happen! You can check out the Ice Cream Truck underwear line and order now!

We have been counting down the hottest 50 pairs of underwear that have inspired our wild, sexual side.

Now moving away from leather into something more soft with lace.  These pairs inspire the sensual sexual side of the male wrapped in lace.
