One of the hottest new crazes in mens underwear is the Jock Brief.  Full brief in front, jockstrap in the back.  It’s the best of both world’s!

I recently received this CandyMan Jock Brief.  Well known for creating “novelty”, costume underwear, CandyMan offers a wide selection of fun underwear and not your everyday briefs…

It’s my first black pinstriped pair of underwear, so I was eager to try it out.  As soon as I put it on I knew I would like it.  The stretchy fabric (93% Polyester 7% Spandex/Elastane/Lycra) feels great on the skin.  The elasticity creates a pouch that is loose enough not to feel flattening yet still provides a moderate amount of support.  The rear leg openings fit perfectly and didn’t bind like some jocks do.  The pinstripes are eye catching, and the logo on the waistband is perfectly proportioned on the center.   With this pair, they’ve given me something that I can add to my daily rotation of underwear to choose from.

Available in black pinstripes and in red plaid, this brief is great for every day wear or a night on the town.

    Good Luck!

Today’s Brief Distraction is from Candyman. This is the Animal print singlet. It’s available in three different colors, white, green, and pink. It is also number 9628 in the Candyman collection. Singlet boxer brief, one-piece suspender that conforms to the body for an ultra-sleek fit and feel, this garment is made in a soft animal print fabric, contoured pouch and bold contrast borders. Composition: Nylon 84%, Spandex 16%.

Today, I am going to review the CandyMan 9511 Thong. This thong has a triangular cut out at the top of the front pouch as well as the rear strap. Much to my surprise, I receive a pair with a black waistband and nautical white/navy striped pouch! Loving everything nautical, I couldn’t wait to toss on these babies!

The construction appeared to be well done, although my OCD got the best of me seeing as the stripes don’t line up on the 93%Polyester, 7% Elastane pouch. Upon first test drive, I realized that one must dress in the ‘down position’ as the pouch wasn’t quite large enough and dressing ‘up’ would result in a potential ‘escape’ of the anaconda … If you know what I mean. That noted, The pouch cut out, when positioned correctly allowed for one to pull their ‘snake’ out, allowing it to freely hang while the boys remain nicely supported inside the pouch.

I wore this thong to work and out for drinks afterward. The pouch, being a little too small, required proper adjustment a few times during the day. The fabric, while descent, wasn’t the softest thing, which caused a little discomfort towards the end of the day.

    Likes:

    • Good construction
    • Great pattern
    • Suggestive design.

    Dislikes:

    • Pouch was on the smaller side
    • Cut out required one ‘dress’ down
    • Fabric wasn’t the softest

If you are a long time reader of this blog then you know we have covered Candyman for a while. Ever since they came on the scene we have brought you some of the fun and wild creations they come up with. This year is no different. They have some really creative and fun pieces that include underwear and underwear costumes.

I will say the first time I saw Candyman, I knew it would be an instant success. It’s amazing how just a little bit of fun mixed in with underwear can gain such a big following. The pair that really convinced me was the cowboy costume they had at first, the one with the chaps. Now they have branched out into underwear but kept adding to the costumes line.

There are a few themes in the collection. They are cut outs, straps, mesh, zipper, suspenders and costumes.

    Cut outs:
There are quiet a few cut outs in the collection.

    • The first pair if the Mesh Pockets boxer. It has two cut outs on the seat, that are filled in with mesh. It also it has cut outs on the side. The Mesh Pockets Boxer is available in white and black.
    • The next pair is the openings boxer. It has similar side cut outs as the Mesh Pockets Boxer but above the pouch it has a triangle cut out. I can’t recall the last time I saw this in a boxer. The pair has a fitted pouch. Its available in black and green.
    • Lastly is the Openings thongs. There are many different patterns/colors but they are all the same they have an opening in the pouch at the top and in the back where the strap meets the waist band. You can get this in camo, stripes and more!

Candyman Mesh Boxer 9592 (2)Candyman Flake and Mesh Brief 9590 (4)

Candyman Mesh Boxer with Metal rings 9520 (1)Candyman Tull Brief 9589 (4)

    Mesh
Mesh is something that has been going on in men’s underwear for about two years strong. It’s a trend that keeps on going.

    • They have the Mesh Boxer. Which are mesh with a solid pouch. If you are a mesh fan you will love these. They are available in black, blue, green and White.
    • Next up is Flake and Mesh brief. This pair has a mesh side and flake finish in either blue or Magenta. It kind of reminds me of snake skin but not over the top.
    • Candyman does underwear with shiny fabrics, and that continues with the Boxer Mesh with Metal rings. It’s Solid colors on the legs and mesh on the side with a metal ring in each side. Between the legs is solid black and looks pretty cool. I really like the look of this one.
    • If you are looking for a brief then you should try the Tull Brief. It has a solid pouch and seat but mesh on the sides. It’s available in green, blue or black. There is a similar cut with the Tull Thong.

Candyman Boxer Cross Strips 9576 (2)Candyman Thong with Multi Thin Straps 9564 (3)Candyman Net Brief 9583 (3)

    Strips:

    • The Boxer Cross Strips. It’s a full pouch with strips that connect the pouch to the back. When you see it from the back it appears to be a solid boxer. Its a very interesting piece. It is only available in black.
    • Now be warned the straps are not for the shy. The Thong with Multi Thin Strips is not one you will find on the conservative scale. It’s a thong with a full pouch and straps that attach from the pouch to the rear strap. It’s available in blue and black.
    • Maybe you want something a little more conservative? Well the Net Brief is just a bit more conservative. But not by too much. Its another thong like pair with net look straps from the pouch around to the back.

    Zipper
Zippers and underwear? Yes, and it looks pretty cool as well.

    • The pair that I had to profile is the Zippers brief. Its a brief with the Candyman waistband with a solid color with a zipper that runs from the front to the back. That is outlined in white on the black pair and matching gold on the gold pair.

    Suspenders
Do you want something different and sexy? Then the Suspender line is for you. There are two different styles. The thong and boxer. Without seeing the pic you may ask what are these? well they are thongs and boxers with suspenders that go over your shoulder. They have a definitely interesting factor. These are not something you will wear to the office but they could be a lot of fun in other places. The thong has multiple suspenders and a more g string cut. Whereas the boxer has a fuller cut but other then the pouch the remaining material is mesh. The thong is available in white and black. The boxer is available in blue and black.

Candyman Seductive Navy Captian 9557 (3)Candyman Naughty Officer 9500 (2)

Candyman Be My Hero 9579 (1)Candyman Fix My Engine Handyman 9580 (1)Candyman Men of the Night Vampire 9551 (1)

    Costumes
A coverage of Candyman would not be complete without going into the new costumes. They are a lot of fun and can really spice things up!

    • The first new one is the Seductive Navy Captain. Which is a boxer brief with a blue/white pouch, solid white with red piping and captains wheel on the right let. You also get the cap and sailors scarf.
    • The Naughty Officer is one if you like police. It’s a boxer with blue, of course, and mesh back. on the left leg is a badge print and the pouch is detachable.
    • Super Hero Outfit. Now if you want to save the world then you should see the Super Hero Outfit. It’s a boxer with a utility belt looking waistband, red brief and blue legs. It also comes with a cape.
    • Fix My Engine Handyman. If you have ever wanted a sexy mechanic now is the time to get one. It’s a boxer with suspenders in grey. It even has a pouch for your tools.
    • Vampires are all the craze lately and the Men of the Night is a vampire costume that vampire cape and a black boxer that has a detachable pouch with bat wings on it.

I am back from Magic/Curve and I must admit it’s a great time but it wears you out. I know you are saying “you go talk to underwear makers/designers and see underwear models, what’s so hard about that?” Well, the amount of walking in Las Vegas is mind blowing. I am always worn out after the shows.

One thing I really noticed was jocks. I have seen them around but they seem to be a lot more prevalent this year. Most of the collections I saw had at least one jock if not more. There seems to be a rebirth going on for the jock.

Collections where I saw jocks are:

These are the ones I can come up with off the top of my head. Jocks are no longer the Bike #10 traditional jock. They are made out of mesh, spandex and sometimes lace. Jocks also have lace up pouches (like shoes), more then one strap and cross between briefs and jocks. If you had asked me a few years ago if you could improve on the jock, I would never have guessed all the innovations designers have come up with.

Then you have companies that have built businesses on jockstraps. The two that come to mind are Jockstrap Central and McKillop U/W. Jockstrap Central is your main store for anything jock related. You name it they will probably have it in jocks. Last year they scored the extremely hard to get Bike #10. They wouldn’t tell me how they did it but I know it wasn’t easy! Second, McKillop U/W has done some amazing work in designing new and great fitting jocks. They have color, an amazing pouch and even new materials. They are doing some great work and if you love jocks I say you try them.

This week alone we saw the release of two new jocks. The first was from Bone Wear and the second was from Pipe. It seems each week we see more and more jocks. That is the reason I pushed this post back to Friday. I was going to post it on Wed but the release of two jocks in one week kind of made my point.

Kinkwear Jock from Jockstrap CentralMcKillop U/W

Am I alone in thinking this? Have you guys seen more jocks? What innovations have you seen that you loved? Leave a comment here or on Facebook and let us know!

We love it here when there are new takes on classics in the world of underwear. It now makes me think of new ways to do the tighty whities! Hey if it can happen to jocks why not tighty whities?

The pic at the top is the new Pipe Jock, which I forgot to include on yesterday’s post for Pipe.

Ties make everything better, it’s a fact. Guess what? This pair of underwear comes with a tie. I feel like I could end this review right here simply because of that awesomeness. However, as awesome as that may be, there is more to this underwear to just a tie and you’ll see that below.

The underwear (and tie presumably) are made of 93% Polyester and 7% Spandex which is rather comfortable and the shiny look makes for an interesting feel – a feeling that you’ve always got to adjust yourself. That feeling aside, it has a great look and that black shine gives it a very sexy look. The added gold rank indicators increase the sexiness factor tenfold. Another thing about Candyman boxerbriefs is that they are somewhat large. They are about twice as long as a Gigo boxerbriefs and they aren’t tight fitting if you have a standard waist size. This may be good to some and bad to others. It’s really up to you on how to take it.

Candyman has an interesting feel. It is “Costume Underwear” so you might not want to wear it during the workday or during an intense workout. However, if you’re just relaxing, preparing for Halloween, or a random costume party, then this is the perfect underwear for you.

The head designer and owner Ryan wanted to create a line  of “Jockstraps and Pouches for the men who demand comfort and style without padding and branding being the main focus of the underwear.” McKillop uses colors and mesh to really give a new look to the traditional jock! If you are a fan of jocks you need to give McKillop a once over!

DMK Designs is a brand we have covered since the start of the blog. It was founded by Diane who is a former Vegas show girl who went back to school to get her MBA and started a men’s underwear line. Diane wanted to create a line because she was tired of men seeing bad underwear. She has come out with some really fun lines. Those included the animal print made out of unexpected colors. Which were some of the most innovative I have seen. She is now working in mesh and has created a pouch that doesn’t have a seam down the middle. I know we will see some really fun and creative designs from her soon!

The current lines are one that really shows off everything.  From their site: “Design is a dialogue of ideas: it appeals, speaks or creates controversy and GREGG HOMME constantly innovates with unimaginable designs and functionalities to feed the insatiable taste of men for provocation and seduction.” This includes using the latest in technology. The example of this is the Bandito line. The shirts and underwear have cutouts with mesh. The fabrics are fused together rather then sown. They are a brand positioned between lust and fantasy.
