Men’s Underwear

Category

Many of you guys are looking for fun and different underwear. There is a brand that makes great prints, awesome fabrics, and super fun pairs. That brand that delivers that on a regular basis is Marco Marco. One of the newest lines they have released is the Black Velvet line. This line is available in a brief and a thong.

The Black Velvet is an interesting line. First, it looks like the little black brief. But, it’s something a bit more. The brief has the super sexy mesh back. Both pairs have the black velvet pouch. The best thing about the pouch in both pairs is the soft black velvet material is on the outside and the inside. It’s great to see a company like Marco Marco to pay attention to these details.

The waistband in these features the double M design. This design I think is perfect for the line. The mesh on the brief is a 4-way stretch that will fit you amazing while showing off your assets. Making this the perfect pair for Valentines Day. You can find both of these on the Marco Marco site!

Cocksox furnished the CX92 Long John for review. All opinions of the review are my own and were not influenced by (brand).

Rating: 9/10 (Average of the ratings below)

  • Daily Fit: 9/10
  • Sizing: 9/10
  • Construction: 9/10
  • Styling: 9/10
  • Daily Performance: 9/10

Pros:

  • Created with Great fabric
  • Amazing Cocksox pouch
  • Will keep you warm in style

Cons:

  • Currently has two colors
  • Adds bulk under clothes

UNB Tim recommendation: As long johns go these are now my favorite. They will keep you warm and give you amazing support throughout the day. My biggest pet peeve is that most traditional long johns don’t offer support and you must wear another pair of underwear, under them! These are the best of function and form.

If you were anywhere in the States with the exception of SoCal or Hawaii, it was cold as hell. In Atlanta, we went down to the teens (for those outside of the US that’s -9 degrees C). On top of that, the ice and snow came too. This was the perfect weather to give the CX92 Long Johns a try. Let me preface this review by saying I hate layers. As in dressing in layers. Halfway through the day most of the layers come off. On top of that, I don’t wear a t-shirt under my shirt to work because I get too hot!!! My rant is over.

As stated above I wore this on a really cold snow day at home. Which was a good move! I noticed how these under my jeans kept me warm. Normal long johns drive me nuts, you always have to wear underwear under them for support. Note the rant above. I decided to try these without anything. Cocksox built in their awesome pouch into these. Which I must say feels awesome. Cocksox knows how to make a pouch on bikinis and long johns.

If you are a long time fan of Cocksox you know their fabric is super soft and amazing. I was worried that this fabric wouldn’t be as warm as other fabrics but I was proven wrong. The construction of the pair is top notch. I have had very few issues with any pair of Cocksox I have ever had, and I have quite a few. The first pair I got in 2006 is finally wearing out. The pouch as I have already said is awesome.

These were a little tight on me. But I’m not sure if it was the extra fabric under my jeans or the extra holiday weight. Cocksox typically is spot on with sizing. I haven’t had many issues over the years. If you follow their sizing guide it’s pretty much true to what they say.

I’m glad Cocksox is making Long Johns. It’s about time we have some form in the function of this style. The pair kept me warm, had an amazing pouch and felt amazing. I could picture me wearing these all day in the winter. These are well made and super fun!

Sukrew furnished the Bubble Thong for review. All opinions in this review are that of the reviewer.

Rating: 8.8/10 (Average of the ratings below)

  • Daily Fit: 7/10
  • Sizing: 9/10
  • Construction: 9/10
  • Styling: 7/10
  • Daily Performance: 8/10

Pros:

  • New take on the SUKREW Pouch
  • Fun back

Cons:

  • Lack of a US distributor

UnderwearDude’s Recommendation: If you like thongs or are a fan of SUKREW you should check this out.

If you remember our Thong 101 series from last year(If you haven’t checked it out you really should, I’m very proud of what we did with it), you’d remember us remarking that some thongs might not really fit in just one category. The SUKREW Bubble Thong fits that bill. Structurally, it is similar to a g-string, except the waistband is wider and the strap is also not a string, though it does leave a similar effect. Another noticeable difference is that the waistband is connected to the back strap at a right angle rather than straight on most g-string like pairs, giving it a different, noticeably curved look most often seen in women’s thongs that I quite like. The color of the back strap matches the accents on the front, but only a small triangle at peeks out from behind continuing to give it a g-string/v-string-esque look even though it’s not. The waistband is a bit plain, with a mostly raised center, though it goes unnoticed except when looked at closely. It does seem kinda plain next to the rest of the pair to me.

The pouch is also different from the main SUKREW thong, and SUKREW states that the pouch of the Bubble Thong ” is more lifted and curved than our classic design, offering great support without restriction, and a rounded bulge that compliments the shape of the rear.” From wear experience, I would certainly say it does push you less down than the other style pouch but still feels like a SUKREW pouch. In my personal opinion, I find this less deep pouch better than the original and far prefer it.

If you like SUKREW’s normal thong or want something a little bit skimpier than that, the Bubble Thong is a great choice. It’s a nice balance between skimpiness and structure, with some twists to bring it some real charm and uniqueness. I wore this on my birthday on Sunday and was hoping to try it with a lot of things. Sadly, mother nature had other plans, and I spent most of my day inside. Still, I found it to be fine when scraping snow off of my car and spending a few hours getting up and sitting down at a card game tournament. The part where the back strap connects to the pouch becomes noticeable at times, though not uncomfortable, and this does not happen often. The pair was a size small, which is usually for me, and I had no issues in that regard.

Note that the version of the Bubble Thong that I tried was the Full, not the U, which does not have a pouch. Instead, the U leaves you..well.. exposed. I believe there will be a review of the U version of this pair coming up as well. Price wise, this pair is decent, though I do find it odd that the Bubble Thong is the same price as SUKREW’s normal thong for a good bit less material, though it is still a fine price. Having to pay shipping from Europe is also a downside, but I’d say if this pair interests you, it’s worth it.

COLORS: Crimson (see page for all color combinations)
FABRIC: 80% Polyamide, 20% Elastane
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: £15.99

What is something that N2N Bodywear excels at? Sexy undies? sure but what else. Great designs? Yup, they excel at a lot but one thing that they really know how to make, in addition to those things, is an amazing pouch! One of the best is the N-Hance pouch! They just have released the new Performance Pouch Sport.

The new Performance Pouch sport is made for being active. This is because the pair has anti-microbial properties and moisture wicking fabric. Both of these are important for working out. On top of that, the colors are of a muted/heather tone that wouldn’t draw attention to yourself in the locker room.

Back to that pouch. If you are a big fan of the N-Hance this will be a must-have. The N-Hance pouch is one without straps. It takes what you got and puts it front and center. Add that plus the great support and you have an awesome pouch that any guy would love to wear.

The Performance Pouch Sport is available in three colors. They are Black, Red, and Blue.Like stated above it’s not a BRIGHT but more subdued color for the line. Sizing is Small through X-Large.

COLORS: Black, Red, and Blue
FABRIC: 90% polyester / 10% spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $26.00

You know the eternal mantra in fashion that ‘less is more’? At Deadgoodundies that’s always translated perfectly into sales. The smaller the product, the better it sells on this UK website dedicated to male undies and swimwear. Thongs have always been a best seller, for years rivalled – but always beaten – by micro/bikini briefs. But now tanga cuts are nudging their way to the top. Men like the minimal fabric, maximum room to manoeuvre an active body and a flat waistband that serves as side straps. But most of all the sporty look works best with the athleisure fashion trend.

A tanga by any other name. Different brands call men’s underwear cuts by different names, but a tanga is basically two triangles of fabric suspended from a smart waistband, and joined underneath. Designed well, these underpants offer good coverage and support – and maximum style. The MAX XV also happens to boost the boys beautifully!

ERGOWEAR MAX XV BIKINI £24.00

If you’re already a tanga man, Modus Vivendi is a go-to collection for undies that enhance and flatter the male physique. Their colourful cotton tanga trios are quite a treat…

Modus Vivendi Cotton Tanga Multipack (3 Pack) £36.00

Of course it’s essential the cut of a tanga is absolutely perfect. HOM’s version comes in the softest cotton modal fabric that still offers just the right support.

A subtly sporty option in white, black, grey or a great deep blue.

HOM Classic Tanga Brief £18.00

Teeny tiny tanga kini… Minimalists will adore the colours and contours of Joe Snyder’s famous tangas. This one comes in a single size only to fit 28″-36″ waist. Always a huge choice from this collection on DGU.

Joe Snyder Candy Kini 12 £24.00

If you prefer something more sensual then Manstore is the name to watch. This double strap design is just one example of a constant supply of sexy underwear for men from designers who delight in risqué.

Manstore M712 Micro Tanga £30.00

The thing about a great tanga on DGU is that it will sell out FAST. This Rio Tanga from Olaf Benz has been an instant hit – perhaps because of the intense colours or the shimmering fabric. Again, one of many from a collection that’s never shy of showing off.

Olaf Benz 1763 Rio Tanga £31.00

aussieBum Bloom Short and CottonRise Underwear

If you’re not ready for swim briefs or less at the beach or pool, why not go for shorter trunks. aussieBum has released their Bloom shorts. They say they are the “perfect every day short, in or out of the water.” These do not have any lining, so check out the aussieBum swim briefs for under them.

The Bloom shorts have mesh pockets and a drawstring with metal end ties. These feature a tropical floral print hence the name Bloom. They are available in three colors: Navy, Army, and Red. They’re made of 100% polyester and can be cold washed separately. They should be hung to dry. aussieBum says these are designed to fade. Also, note that patterns may vary slightly. The shorts are designed in Australia but made in Vietnam.

These are nice looking shorts with a subtle floral pattern, which you’d probably wouldn’t notice unless you were close up. Great alternative when you don’t feel comfortable in a swim brief. Or getting the short tan lines even shorter.

BRAND: aussieBum
PAIR: Bloom
COLORS: Navy, Army, Red
FABRIC: 100% Polyester
SIZES: S – XXL
COST: $30.50

aussieBum Bloom Shorts

Hey, brief and trunk/boxer brief wearers. Go back to the 50s with this CottonRise line’s inspiration. Designed with the original 50’s high rise design with an extra large pouch for comfort. aussieBum says, “These vintage-style relaxed fit undies are made for the man with the confidence to put comfort first.”

These are made from a thick yet soft blend of 95% cotton and 5% elastane. They are designed with a relaxed loose fit in mind, so don’t expect lots of support. They seemed to be designed for lounging comfort. Maybe a good choice for those that don’t want the boxer no support, but not too much holding of the boys either. These can be machined washed cold but recommended to be line dried. They are proudly made in Australia.

As I mentioned above these are available in a brief or boxer brief. You can choose from red or blue waistband with the aussieBum name on it. Body is white on all the pairs. Want some underwear with a looser pouch fit then take a look at the CottonRise line from aussieBum.

COLORS: Blue, Red
FABRIC: 95% Cotton, 5% Elastane
SIZES: XS – XL

As we ease into 2018, the UNB Staff has each made a resolution to try a couple of new styles throughout the year. We all have our different likes and dislikes, and hopefully, you will be able to find one of us to relate to and reach out to for underwear advice. Read below to see if our resolutions are anything like ours, and don’t hesitate to let us know if we’ve missed something that you think we need to be looking at throughout the year!

 UNB Ryan:

Two brands I really want to try in 2018 are Body Aware and JOR. I am attracted to the variety of styles each designer offers for different reasons. Body Aware offers many styles that blur the line between male and female, as well as masculine and feminine. Body Aware uses numerous styles and fabrics I think would make any guy feel sexy. Jor offers a modern approach to underwear and swimwear with daring styles and vibrant color choices. I am particularly interested in trying out some of their workout wear. I love the feel and look of a sexy thong paired with a set of skin-tight leggings in the gym, and can’t wait to try some this year!

 UNB Tim:

The brand I want to try this year is L’Homme Invisible. They are a brand we have covered over the years. They have a unique design aesthetic. They are creating lingerie for men. Not that it’s all lace and such but it’s to make the man feel sexy. I have asked a few people about the brand and they all love brands. Men’s underwear is more than everyday wear. We need underwear that makes us feel sexy and fun. I think this brand will make me feel sexy and awesome. My goal this year is to try more brands outside the US. This will be the first of many to come!

Cocksox

Underwear Dude:

This year I am looking to keep doing what I’ve been doing for the last few years, keep trying new brands and getting more from my favorites. I don’t have any brands, in particular, I’ll have to see what catches my eye this year. Though I do have a Cocksox gift card waiting for me to decide what to get with it. As for styles, I’ve tried most of them already. I am thinking about wearing the few jocks I have more often this year to try and see if I actually like the style or not.

UNB Mike:

Brands and styles I want to try in 2018:

Cellblock 13 – I love the sporty/fetish look and the color combos are great.

Body Aware – They have some awesome lace pairs that I really want to try. There are also some cuts like their tangas that look super hot. I’ve never had anything from them so I’m up for trying any (and all!) pairs.

Modus Vivendi – There are so many great pairs and lines that I want to try here! The hip-hop 90s and Dali pairs look awesome, and they’re about the only brand that does lace in awesome masculine colors.

Colors – I’ve come to the realization that a lot of my underwear is black. I probably pick that a lot because it’s usually a default color option, plus it always looks sleek, classy and sexy as hell. But I’d really like to venture out into some more colors this year. The brands above all have great color options so I don’t see that being a problem.

Fetish/gear – Already covered somewhat with Cellbock, but I’m really drawn to the sporty and kinky side of some of the fetish and gear options. I love that most people consider it to be so outlandish and wild and they could never picture someone they know wearing it. There are so many options with leather, lace, neoprene, black, colors, sporty, super kinky, etc. Bring it all on this year!

The Bottom Drawer:

I’ve been eyeing some of the more expensive brands like Olaf Benz, Manstore, and Gregg Homme. They have some bikinis and thongs that look pretty nice. Plus I’ve heard positive things about the brands. I probably won’t be splurging on them though. A brand I may give a try this year is Modus Vivendi. Their low cut and mini briefs have been drawing my attention in both underwear and swimwear. I also like their unique take with their marketing photos for some of their lines. Last year I tried Bruno Banani for the first time. The fit of the thong I tried impressed me. Now I wouldn’t mind trying one of their tanga briefs. There are lots out there I’d like to try, but these are a few on my radar.

The Thonged Ginger:

I’m very happy with my thongs and a few other choices, but I would like to get a Brazilian cut bikini, those look pretty sexy.

Joe Snyder Bulge thong– I have heard a lot of good things about these thongs and i want to try them for myself.

Mckillop– these just look good to me for some reason and I want to give them a try.

These are the big brands the rest are smaller manufacturers.

 Dustin:

 ERGOWEAR

I actually have tried one pair of Ergowear – a thong that was a gift.  However, it’s definitely a size too small so I’m not counting it as a real shot.  Their underwear looks nice and simple but the pouch is pretty unusual.  I like having room up front and have definitely become more particular about pouches over the past few years.  For me, I have everyday underwear and “fun” underwear and Ergowear seems like it might be a good blend of both.

The first pair I would try: the Suave Bikini.

JOR

I’ve been coming across JOR here and there for years and just haven’t pulled the trigger.  Next time they’re having a great sale, I will have to get a pair.  I have always thought their brand was fun, from the waistband to all to colors/combinations.  Again, most of their stuff is pretty simple in style/cut, but with a twist that might make an everyday pair just a bit more fun.

The first pair I would try: the Soft Navy Bikini & the Tayrona Bikini.

BODYAWARE

I do have some Bodyaware that I received for review through this site.  I’ve always told UNB Tim I’m open to reviewing any style – so he sent me something I’d never tried!  Let me say that I have an underwear obsession, but am not into women’s underwear.  I’ve meet many guys that are, and that’s cool, but it just isn’t my thing.  So, I never really thought I would like something from Bodyaware, but after wearing the Greek God, it definitely got me interested in trying more of their gear.  A lot of their stuff really is lingerie for men, and in a world of basic bitches who only wear black boxer briefs, I love that there’s a brand that will go WAY outside the box and create styles that clearly have a demand, but might not be as socially acceptable.

The first pair I would try: the Rare Earth Thong and the Glistening Satin G-String.

I hope that you are able to take some inspiration from one of us before we get too far into the year. If you have any questions about any of the styles above, or if you have a suggestion about a style you’d like to see featured in the future, please drop us a line and let us know!
