Fun name… fun jock!  The Fruity Cheeky Cherry Jock (how great is that name?!) from Bum-chums (made in UK) have a great color, great shape, and great feel.

Everything from the jock straps in the back to the front pouch look and feel fantastic.  The pouch is silky smooth, great shape, and nice protect your bits.  The jock straps nicely hold your butt cheeks in place, framing them perfectly without bunching.

About the only negative I’ve found to this jock is the size of the name on the waistband.  It’s only slightly larger than the brand name on most waistbands, but not being a huge fan of being a walking advertisement, it’s enough to bug me just a tad.

All in all a fantastic jock which at $24 online is not bad at all for any jock.  Anyone who’s a jock fan will love it!

PROS

  • Amazing jock!
  • Fun name/look/feel

CONS

  • Oversize brand name on waistband

Today’s Brief Distraction is from C-IN2. Yesterday we brought you information about the Filthy line and today we bring you another great pic. As you can see the underwear looks “filthy.” When I told to C-IN2 at Magic they told me each garment is hand rubbed to get the effect. It’s definitely a different look in underwear!

Bum-Chums!  The latest entry into the growing mens underwear market is quite a nice brand to have found.  Hailing from Britain and featuring all British materials with the construction, these undies are not to be underestimated in quality, wearability, and style.  I was able to try the White Hipster.

The soft fabric consists of Cotton and Lycra creating a soft feel to the touch and to the areas covered by the undies.  The hipster is a name for basic trunk.  This pair had a roomy pouch and was very stretchy and conforming to the body.  The hipster is bright white with a black band with white lettering.  This pair featured paneled construction of two panels in the front and two panels in the rear and the hipster featured a back seam to accentuate the BUM.  I did not really care for the rather large brand tag on the left front of this pair of undies.

The size large was a perfect fit in the hipster.  When opening the hipster, it looked rather large but, fit well.  I enjoyed wearing this pair of the Bum-Chums.  I did find that the hipster’s legs tended to roll up a bit, but made for easy maneuverability and stayed put most of day.  I wore these on standard days of general daily activity.  My jeans had no issue with clinging to this pair due to the fabric composition.  Overall, the fit was nice and I enjoyed wearing them.  The price is similar to other specialty underwear and comes in around the $20-25 mark per pair.

Bum-Chums!  The latest entry into the growing mens underwear market is quite a nice brand to have found.  Hailing from Britain and featuring all British materials with the construction, these undies are not to be underestimated in quality, wearability, and style.  I was able to try the Lemon-Lush Hip Brief.

The soft fabric consists of Cotton and Lycra creating a soft feel to the touch and to the areas covered by the undies.  The hip brief is more of a low rise brief with no fly.  This pair has a roomy pouch and they were very stretchy and conforming to the body.  The hip brief was bright yellow with a black band with bright pink lettering.  This pair featured paneled construction consisting of three panels, two in the front and one in the rear.  I did not really care for the rather large brand tag on the left front of this pair of undies.

The size large was a perfect fit.  When I opened the hip-brief, I found it to look tiny and it resembled a small, but it was stretchy and fit well.  I enjoyed wearing this pair of the Bum-Chums.  The cut of the hip brief made for easy maneuverability and stayed put all day.  I wore these on standard days of general daily activity.  My jeans had no issue with clinging to this pair due to the fabric composition.  Overall, the fit of the hip brief was nice and I enjoyed wearing them.  The price is similar to other specialty underwear and comes in around the $20-25 mark per pair.

C-IN2 announces it’s new “FILTHY” underwear collection.  The homepage at C-IN2.com states, “Get FILTHY March 9th, 2012.  It also uses the risqué double entendre, “Clean is for pussies!”  The dedicated “FILTHY” page goes on to to describe the new line as, “When comparing squeaky clean to filthy dirty, one is definitely more sexy!  Filthy is a collection of textured fabrics that have been hand-rubbed with pigments and dyes to give a dirty worn-in, worked-in look.  Giving credit to just plain hard work, Filthy was born.  If you work hard, sweat and like getting filthy dirty, C-IN2 lets you flaunt it.”

Are you “FILTHY” minded?  Check C-IN2.com and be among the first to get their hands on (or assets in) something “FILTHY!”

C-IN2’s Creative Director Gregory Sovell, who incidentally is the founder of 2(x)ist and later moved on to open his next underwear brand: C-IN2, hinted at what was coming down the pipeline.  “I always thought that the concept of ‘Dirty’ might be sexier than the notion of ‘Clean” the designer mentioned in a Racked.com interview last October.  We were also treated to the steamy PAROLE video shoot by Rick Day in C-IN2’s continuing saga of when law enforcement and sexy bad boys meet.  In the video, snippets of hot models as parole violators in a trailer home park were being rounded up and arrested wearing their “FILTHY” underwear.  The sexy bad boys who wore the “FILTHY” briefs were: Tattooed Diogo De Castro Gomes: Bulging Anthony Gallo: and Super Sexy Chris Whelan.

Timoteo worked with photographer David Wagner  and got some amazing portrait images of Michael. David Wagner shot different Timoteo Underwear and swim wear, and on an amazing body like Michael Holland everything looks great!! At 6’1″and very well built Michael knows how to work the camera. Let me know what you think.

Let me introduce you to the Petit-Q Kini, a cross between a bikini and a thong! This cheeky blue string bikini with white contrast piping is, in very small brief! There is a center seam that runs down the front of the pouch and continues up the back of the Kini’s single layered pouch.

The pouch is slightly contoured, yet doesn’t provide much support. The backside has a very cheeky cut, showing off one’s assets, which are accentuated by the center seam running up the back. When positioned correctly, the Kini is quite flattering, however, throughout the day, these briefs required a lot of readjusting, as the sides were constantly shifting and the back tended to bunch. I think this was partially because it was a size medium, I feel that the small might have held things a little tighter, and thus, stayed in place.

The sizing was spot on, and the Nylon 92%, Spandex 8% fabric pouch was very comfortable and breathable.

Likes:

  • Cheeky cut,
  • sting sides

Dislikes:

  • Very little support,
  • Tendency to bunch

Today’s Brief Distraction is from a brand new brand called Zylas. Its one of the newest brands in the world of men’s underwear. The initial collection is for the stripe lover. Most of the collection is also boxer briefs. I think we will see a lot more from Zylas soon. You can find them at some of your favorite retailers!

Cover Male‘s ‘Running Short’ takes the traditional running short and sexes it up with a high slit on the side.  This short is really designed well. At first look I thought these would not provide much support in the front but upon trying them, the shorts held everything in place. These are great for working out or just lounging around.  The fabric is a poly/spandex blend that is so light, you feel like your not wearing anything.

I’d say the view is better from the back as you’ll feel the fabric grazing your back side and allowing for some tiny spilling out the back. However, the front is very flat and does not accentuate the package much.  These function well as a workout short, and would be perfect for practicing yoga in private.  I would not recommend wearing these as underwear as the fabric is loose and may give off a strange looking VPL if you’re wearing a fitted pair of jeans or pants.

I tested these out when I had some time to workout at home before heading into the office.  I must say they really functioned well as workout shorts. Admittedly, I did not run in these so I’m not sure how much support they’d provide to a runner.  The support for squatting and doing lunges was adequate though.  It was also fun to stretch in these, as they were not constricting like normal underwear.

Anyone looking for a nice new pair of underwear should try SoleOne underwear.  Ultra comfortable and form fitting bamboo fabric makes this pair of boxer briefs simply wonderful.  The pair that I was given was white with a black waistband with white lettering on it.

The soft fabric of bamboo created a soft feel to the touch and to the areas covered by the undies.  The boxer brief is more of a trunk fit, in my opinion with shorter legs than a normal pair of boxer briefs.  This boxer brief had a roomy and stretchy pouch with no fly that comformed to my body as I wore them.  The waistband is approximately one and a half inches wide and was comfortable.  This pair featured paneled construction.  Featured on the rear was a back seam to accentuate the rear.

The size large was a perfect fit.  When I opened the package, I was surprised by how wrinkly the underwear was, but I washed it in cold water and actually dried it in the dryer (contrary to care instructions).  The wrinkles were completely gone after the process of cleaning them.  The boxer brief was like wearing a second skin that was not too tight nor too lose, but just right in the tauntness and give of the fabric.  I wore these on standard days of general daily activity.  My jeans and khakis had no issue with clinging to the pair due to the fabric composition.  Overall, the fit was nice and I enjoyed wearing them.  The price is similar to other specialty underwear and you may order it from the SoleOne website for $34 with free shipping on orders of $99 or more.  Anyone looking for some luxury undies will find these to be the ones to have in their collection.

Modus Vivendi is one of those underwear companies that has come on to the underwear scene, who’s designs are outside the box. I love to see a company take risks and not do the same boring white, grey and black. Modus Vivendi has used color, cuts and fabrics to define who they are in the world of men’s underwear. One of the greatest sources of inspiration is from their home country of Greece. This inspiration was used to create the Greek Gods line.

They have a brand new line in the Greek Gods section and it’s time to get inspiration from the dark side. It is a part of the Greek Gods collection and this time is Hades’ turn. This range is inspired from the typical rubber and vinyl underwear but with a Modus Vivendi twist. Cotton waistband with adjustable cords for better fit. Cotton and elastane made fabric (black in all items) with black, red, blue or yellow details. This range includes jockstraps, briefs and boxers.

McKillop U/W has really expanded their line up of underwear this year. As we have said they have always been known for their jocks, but they are looking to be known as a full underwear company. The lines they have expanded look great and if they fit as well as the jocks we predict them to be a hit! Here is what they told us about the new line.

Craftsmanship – Our New Collections have been redesigned with old world craftsmanship in mind, many of our styles especially Elevate are not made with mass production techniques. Many of our competitors wouldn’t dare to make the time consuming items that we make here at Mckillop UW. We are not interested in cutting corners; we are interested in making the best. Because these items are so intricately constructed our price point is a bit higher then in previous years but we are targeting a market that appreciates the finer things in life. Our Products are cut by hand, Pinned & caulked to precise measurements. We manufacture our elastics on a monthly small quantity bases because what most don’t know is that elastic looses quality and we offer a longer lasting item.  Most briefs in the market today are fully computer automated sewing both legs at the same time on automated machines whereas ours are only made with human hands. This also helps us achieve our goal of bringing work back to North America, We are very proud to re-launch our brand in this way and we are happy you are on this journey with us.

Elevate – This collection is really unique with the first ever “-Real” butt lifting jock and the E brief; many companies have claimed to lift your assets but the thin elastic just doesn’t cut it. We have just shy of 2” of elastic running continuously from left to right like underwire which pulls you up, Also this elastic creates a smaller fabric area which gives the optical illusion of a small butt as your eye is drawn to the centre of the fabric and not the whole behind region.

Our 2012 version of our most popular item, our pouch is very new, this almost didn’t get released due to the fact that it gives you an obscene bulge, its like nothing we have made before and will really get you noticed. This item was finally launched due to an online poll of our customers and they said more bulge the better, so we shall see!

Daily Basics – This Collection is the jewel in the Mckillop crown, we set out to design the most comfortable collection of Briefs and Boxers and we have done just that! Our Daily Collection as a whole has every item possible from a jock to briefs to long johns and Pjs, all made from our signature modal. Our Daily collection is not an enhancement product but it is the most ergonomic collection on the market today. We have added plush 3/4” elastic around the legs (Briefs and Boxers) to make sure it doesn’t ride up and give full rear coverage (anything below the knee has 3/8” elastic, non of our Daily items are just hemmed (Pjs Excluded) . Every item in this collection has the same brief cut in the design so when someone knows the brief fits like a glove they will also know that the long johns and all of our other lengths will too. We are not joking when we say you will want 7 for every day!

The Traveller – This collection is a deconstructed brief and trunk design, using the minimum seams and thickness as possible. This collection is like a second skin that you barely notice is there, but gives you just enough support to get you through the day. This collection started as a jock or a pouch cover for the winter months, it was designed that where the waistband of the Traveller ends the Pouch elastic starts. Once constructed, we knew that limited to winter months was not in the best interest of our customers, so we thought bigger. The reason we came up with the name The Traveller is because after creating this item we found that it was so small that it rolled up into the size of a golf ball. What a perfect thing for packing on holiday whereas with packing “every inch counts.” These are sold on their own and with a Pouch combo.
