Modus Vivendi Greek LineModus Vivendi is one of those companies that has fun with their heritage. If you aren’t familiar with the brand, they were founded in Greece! They have used this heritage to create quite a few collections over the years. The ones that come to mind are Inn Keeper, Fisherman and the list goes on! IMG_0926I was pretty excited to open my first package of Fox-Style challenge underwear, and find a pair from one of my favorite brands, #CleverUnderwear! Even better, they’re a cool, shiny Teal color.

The fit is great. And what I love about having Clever underwear is, if I’m having an airhead kinda day, at least I know my butt is Clever. I’m pretty sure that this is literally what they mean when I get called a smart ass.

Really, what good is being named Fox, if you’re not gonna be as #Clever as one!

The teal color inspired me to wear a bright teal shirt and then build an outfit all around it.  Since I’m not lucky enough to IMG_8250make a living parading around in my underwear all day like Mr. #blessed David Beckham, I’ll take inspiration from the color of my undies to inspire the color I choose for my outties. –yes I just made up a clever word to describe the clothes you wear over your undies! I hope it catches on, sometimes these new words don’t… We all remember the tragedy of “fetch”!

Since I’m being so clever, I thought I’d wear a bow-tie, & because my shirt is such a bold pop of color, I went with a charcoal bow-tie with a subtle white floral pattern to complement it, rather than compete. I’m going for a “pop”‘of color, not an outburst.

I could have worn a blue and white checked shirt today, but I didn’t want to clash when I take my pants off.  I mean I’m not going to just take off my pants walking down the street, but eventually the pants are coming off.  When they do come off, whoever gets to see will find that I’m nicely color coordinated!

I opted for a vest instead of a jacket, to show off more of the shirt.   Also a vest looks smart with a bow-tie. So Clever!

Finally, burgundy & grey striped socks, grey slim fit pants, and black suede chukka boots complete the “outties” and create an overall classic look.   Classic, but not stuffy.  Remember, beneath all of this, I’m sporting shiny teal undies! (btw – what do you think? Is “outties” catching on yet?)

I think this look is really pulled together and so dapper that even our friend Mr. Beckham would probably wear it… that is, if he decided to stop running around wearing nothing but his named brand underwear for H&M!

Maybe one day I can talk to him about it, and swap underwear stories.  In the meantime, I’m going to take this Clever teal on teal ensemble out into the world.IMG_8249

Stay tuned for my next adventure with dressing up over my undies!

Come on get happy! That’s what Andrew Christian is saying to you. The latest brief is called the Happy brief. There are many reasons to be happy with this pair. The first reason is the price. It’s only $13.94. In the world of men’s underwear that’s a steal! Its a great price for a great pair of underwear.

The second reason is the pouch. It’s one very similar to the Almost Naked. Which is one of the best pouches around these days. I LOVE that pouch. The Almost Naked allows you to hang free and natural. Meaning you won’t feel bound and contracted through out the day!

Here is their write up on the pair: “Happy Brief Similar to our Almost Naked collection, the new Happy Brief has a large snuggle fit and anatomically correct pouch up front, just where you need the extra room. Classic brief fit and look, with neon accents to make heads turn. Great for everyday wear. Get Happy and stay that way in these sexy and very comfortable new brief style.”

This pair is available in Black, Blue, Lime and Red. It is also a limited edition price, so if you want it go shop now! Before it goes away. You can find it only at the Andrew Christian site!

IMG_9324__34099.1427411088.400.644Jack Adams is releasing some new undies. The first one we are going to cover is the Fargo Brief! But if you’re expecting a full brief you will be surprised. The back has a cut out just below the waistband. It’s not a full jock brief but call it a jock brief lite!

The official description is: “This low-rise brief has the signature Jack Adams contoured pouch and fits the body like a second skin. Sits on the hip with the Bodyflex stretch and an open section in back for additional comfort. Made from 95% Polyester and 5% Elastane.”

The newest color is the Orange/Grey. That is the body is solid orange with a  grey trim. This pair really just pops and is a lot of fun. This is a must have for the orange underwear lover! It is available at the Jack Adams website for $34

EW0175 (3)If you read the Ergowear X3D Bikini review, you know I LOVE Ergowear. It was great to try a new pair from a classic I have had in my drawer for a while. So, this review I wanted to step outside of my box a little. I wanted to try something I don’t normally wear, a trunk, AKA mini boxer.

I was excited to try this pair. One, because of the amazing Ergowear pouch. It’s one of my top 5 pouches of all times. To me a pouch is easy to do in a brief. But put that in a trunk/boxer brief and that’s where the trouble comes in. Some are able to pull it off while others aren’t! Second, I love the X3D line. The fabric, pouch and design is one that just feels great on me!

And before I get started I didn’t wear this in Vegas! I know you’re shocked. I wore it when I got home and was feeling better. I put this pair on and it really had a great pouch. I was impressed they carried over the pouch into a trunk. My biggest gripe with turnk/boxer brief pouches is you fall out of it. This pair, that never happened. They made it to give more support than most trunks out there.

My day wasn’t too busy but I did have some errands to do. So I was on the go for a few hours. I loved the support of the pouch. Yeah I can’t get over it. The fabric felt great. The fabric blend is 80% polyamid, 20% spandex. To me the more spandex the better. I love undies that conform to my body and hold everything in place. Some of you may not like this but, I have since I was young.

As the day went on the back of the pair rode down some. It was very noticeable to me when it was happening. I was hoping it wouldn’t fall all the way down. I had that happen with a pair a few years go. It was not fun to walk around with no coverage on the back. This pair never gave a full moon but did go down a bit. I don’t know if I had a smaller size if this would not have happened.

The sizing is awesome in Ergowear. They have one of the best sizing charts on the market. If you look at it, they will tell you when you should go up a size. If you get the wrong size in Ergowear then you are doing something totally wrong. !

Pros:

  • Amazing Ergowear Pouch
  • Rich fabric
  • Available in a few colors

Cons:

  • Fell down in the back some
  • Other may not like a tight pouch

Ratings:

  • Fit – 7
  • Sizing – 9
  • Construction – 9

ManView_MV4001_Green_1I am on a roll with the color block briefs! This is my second review of the last line released from ManView Bodywear. The first was the 1001 Campus Class Joker Brief. This time it’s the Campus City Boy Brief. This too has one of my favorite colors, GREEN! Although, its not a bright vibrant green but a more muted almost neon green.

The brief has a similar cut to the Campus Brief. The pouch and design is a good one. Is it my all time favorite? No, but it’s still a great pouch. Guys of all sizes should have ample support. This pair also same fabric blend of the Campus brief, a 94% Soft Cotton & 6% Spandex. This I will admit is one of my favorite blends of fabric.

I wore this not running around Vegas at Magic. I wore it later in the week when I came down with bronchitis. There is nothing worse than getting sick out of town. The good part is I came down with it the night of the last day of Magic. But It didn’t’ hit me till the next day, Friday. I spent the weekend with friends in Vegas and instead of having a great fun filled weekend. I spent the entire time on the sofa sleeping.

I think the highlight of the weekend was going to the minute clinic. So this was not put through the paces like the Campus Brief. But, I wills ay when you are sick that’s the time you want to wear great undies. You don’t want to wear something that will drive you crazy. It felt great, I have worn them again in a regular day and they did a similar job as the Campus brief.

The design is fun. I love the orange around the bottom. It runs half around the back to just below the pouch. One benefit of this is it sets off the pouch. It will accent with you have! Plus its different and fun.

Sizing is pretty much spot on. I didn’t have any issues with the pair. Being sick I didn’t notice any bonding or being too small. Trust me had I felt it they would have come off ASAP. Again if you look at the sizing charts you should have no issues.

Pros:

  • Loved the color design
  • Good Pouch
  • Great overall design

Cons:

  • Not a true green
  • Some may not like the color design

Ratings:

  • Fit – 8
  • Sizing – 8
  • Construction – 8
  • Styling – 8
  • Performance – 8
  • Overall – 8

ManView_MV1001_Yellow_4The pair I am reviewing is ManView Bodywear Campus Brief. It is a long overdue review from when I was in Vegas in February. This is the third pair of ManView I have tried. The first was the 69 brief which ran way too small and the second was the Fire Brief, which was awesome and fit amazing! I loved this pair. I’m not sure where it is now.

The first thing about the Campus Brief that I loved was the colors. It has my two favorites Blue/Green. Green is my all time favorite color and it’s becoming rare in men’s underwear. The design has a color block design. I love how the pouch is a block of each color. If you aren’t a fan of blue/green it’s also available in yellow/grey for a more muted tone.

I wore this on not my busy day in Vegas but one where it was over 10,000 steps. The first thing that I liked was the pouch. It gave me ample support. The 94% Soft Cotton & 6% Spandex fabric was really nice. I liked the way it breathed and held it’s shape throughout the day. I have had pairs that didn’t offer support and on a busy day it just drives me insane. This pair felt great all day

ManView_MV1001_Green_1

The color block design is a big trend in men’s underwear. It’s a design that will catch your eye and can be used with any color combination you would want. This pair the blue/green just pops and looks amazing. I am not sure I would care for the other combo. I wished they had a few more color combinations. I think the blue/red or a yellow black combination would be amazing.

The sizing is pretty good. It fit me well in XL. The previous pair I had didn’t fit me, I think it was missized. This and the fire brief both fit well. If you follow the sizing charts you shouldn’t have too much of a problem finding the right fit.

Pros:

  • Color Block Pattern
  • Good Pouch design
  • Great for active use

Cons:

  • Limited colors

Ratings:

  • Fit – 8
  • Sizing – 8
  • Construction – 8
  • Styling – 8
  • Performance – 8
  • Overall – 8

me1I don’t know if any of you readers out there adore Rupaul’s Drag Race the way that I do. It definitely was the motivating factor for me to try Justin Case underwear for my next venture into the world of the underwear undiscovered (or at least undiscovered to me). See, within the cast of the show is a pair of men called the “Pit Crew”: essentially two muscly hunks who assist with the show. This season, they are always shown sporting Justin Case briefs. In previous seasons, the crew rocked out other brands like AussieBum, Andrew Christian, and Marco Marco. And to be honest, I had seen and heard of Justin Case underwear before but for a couple of reasons, never felt the urge to invest in a pair. But seeing those tiny briefs on hunky men on television made the idea of buying them that much more compelling.

As I mentioned, I had heard of Justin Case before, but hadn’t made a purchased based on two factors: the fabric content (synthetic, which I don’t usually go for) and the price point. As to the latter, there’s something about the way that I make financial decisions that cannot get over the $20 hump. Paying that much for underwear feels too decadent and wouldn’t pass the “prudent person“ test for reasonability.

box

But, driven by images of pit crew members in skimpy Justin Case briefs and the need to do a write up for a new brand. I logged onto the Justin Case underwear website and placed an order. Just a quick word about my ordering experience: the website is easy to use and it looks like the put a few coins and hot minute into its development. I placed the order on a Thursday evening, got a confirmation instantaneously and a shipping notification the very next day. My briefs arrived on the following Monday, encased in a tiny black gift box. I was very satisfied with that interaction.

briefs

I ordered blue polka dot bikini brief underwear. As far as the selection of garments goes, the site has thongs, bikini briefs, jock briefs, boxer briefs, and swimwear available in a variety of vibrant colors and interesting patterns. They also have “Rupairs”, specially designed, limited edition pairs of briefs that are like the ones worn by the Pit Crew on Drag Race. The underwear is primarily fabricated in a polyester/spandex blend, and despite my misgivings about synthetic fabric, I found the brief to be both lightweight and surprisingly breathable. Due to the fabric blend, it was also able to hold onto a very vibrant hue of aqua as the main color, with white dots. I think had it been cotton or another natural fabric, the white dots wouldn’t have “popped” as much, and for me, would have made the design less interesting.

me2

I wore it the brief for a work day and it held up to the demands of my desk job. It didn’t ride or bunch, but stayed where they started when I put them on in the morning. I am a 31-32” waist, with an athletic build, but I still opted for a size small, and it worked out pretty well. The thin, stretchy fabric hugged my anatomy and provided nice, breathable, barely-there support. The fabric was also soft. Everything about the garment spoke to quality materials and manufacture, and I think, having worn them for a day, that the price is somewhat justifiable. So, overall, based on my experience, I’m going to recommend that you all try them to.

One cautionary note, don’t get them delivered to your place of work. I had them sent to my office and the return label read “Justin Case Underwear”. That probably explains the look of judgment in the eyes of the receptionist who brought the package from the lobby to my office. Oh well-she done already done had herses.

I was having a great conversation on Twitter Monday morning about BodyAware. It was between UNB Brandon (@firstthingon) and Bikinisnthongs (@bikinisnthongs) about BodyAware. They make some really cool undies, don’t rule out undies companies because you think they might be “fem” This is the Invisible Mesh Jock Brief, which is SUPER HOT and fun. Check them out and step outside your underwear box and have fun with your undies.

C-TROPIC-41433-Methyl-RGBThis is the year for color in men’s underwear. More companies are going out and picking colors that we don’t normally see in men’s underwear. 2(X)ist is the latest company to do some amazing colors in underwear. The newest line they released is called the Tropics. You maybe asking why did they call it Tropics?

The line has a very beachey feel. The colors are summery and remnant of colors you would see in the tropics. The colors are laser (yellow), Honeysuckle (pink), Methyl Blue (blue) and White. Each color has a tropical waistband in which colors of the main style are featured in print. Its a great addition to the pair.

Tropics is available in 2 different styles. They re the No Show Trunk and No Show Brief. Both of these are standard styles offered by 2(X)ist. The brief retails for $26 and Trunk for $30. Made out of a 87% Polyester / 13% Spandex blend as well.

I love this line for the waistband. The typical print is just a lot of fun. Its great to see brands having fun with the waistbands! The waistband with the color just makes this a great pair. I will have to tell Jason, great job! You can find this and some other tropical prints at the 2(X)ist site.

11138496_885107658215311_2636125777889047964_nWhat are somethings all guys like? Amazing undies at a cheap price! That is what Cheapundies.com is doing, taking on the world to give them amazing undies at an even bette price. They aren’t just doing close outs, they have their own line that is good quality and as the name says, “CHEAP.” The latest in the lines they are producing is the Neon Line.

“NEON is an all new, exclusive collection of underwear only available at CheapUndies. The NEON collection is for those of you who like to stand out in a crowd. These vibrant styles are even perfect for more conservative men who just want to have a party in their pants! Each garment is custom dyed to create the most vibrant colors, and the premium nylon is so comfortable it feels as if you’re wearing nothing at all. Be the life of the party, and go NEON!” This is what Cheapundies.com has to say about the line.

So you maybe asking what colors and styles are in the neon collection? The current colors are blue, pink and yellow. All bright and fun and as they say you will be having a party in your pants. I have a few pairs of Bodyaware and have really liked them. The pair of I have this the Endowed Brief. The light fit and great pouch makes it a great pair to wear. I reviewed it a while back and the pic got us a strike on the Facebook “Community Standards” violation! I guess they don’t like guys who bulge in underwear!

I have been talking to the guys at Bodyaware to work with them again. They sent over a few pairs for us to review. One of those pairs is the Smooth Satin Enhancing Brief. I will be the first to say that I am not a fan of enhancing briefs. The elastic they use generally drives me crazy after a few hours. That’s because most create a pouch and have it lined with elastic and it lifts your junk up.

That being said it gave me a little concern in trying this pair. But more on that feature in a minute. The pair is made of Satin meaning its super soft and sliky. This right away may turn some off the pair but it felt amazing. BodyAware is known for their sexy and some may say more feminine underwear designs. I have never let that get in my way of reviewing underwear. I think too many guys won’t embrace something new just by ruling something out by the masc/fem of the pair. One of my favorite pairs I have reviewed were made of lace!

I think these briefs were super sexy. The fabric felt amazing on my skin. I will say I noticed it a few times during the say and I kind of liked it. The pouch, my big worry, didn’t really annoy me like previous pairs I have tried. The pouch wasn’t as restrictive and tight. It felt pretty well. I didn’t’ notice a big enhance . It wasn’t till the end of the day that it started to become noticeable. It wasn’t like “I have to take this pair now” but thought, “oh yeah I’m wearing some enhancing underwear.”

The sizing of these surprised me. Satin is not a forgiving fabric. It’s not known for the stretch. But they are the kings of men’s satin undies. It felt great. The sizing is spot on the charts. If you follow it (remember get a size up if you’re on the boarder) there should be no sizing issues. This pair also goes up to XXl.

Pros:

  • Sexy satin fabric
  • Great design that fit well with the fabric
  • Loved the turquoise color

Cons:

  • Some may not like Enhancing pouch
  • Fabric – some may think it’s too fem (I don’t think so)

Ratings:

  • Daily Fit – 8
  • Sizing – 9
  • Construction – 9
  • Styling – 8
  • Daily Performance – 9
  • Overall – 8.4

BodyAware furnished the Smooth Satin Enhancing Brief  for review. This pair comes in black, coral, turquoise fuchsia and snow white. It retails for $22.50 on the BodyAware site.
