When did you first discover your love of undies?

It was some time during my adolescence, I think! You know when you get to that stage in your life that you need to find your own style, your own dress code. I was very frustrated at my y-fronts at that time and wanted to find something more sexy and a lot more interesting! I wanted to start putting my own style together from inside out and… the love of undies have just started to form!

What style was you favorite when you started to love underwear (boxer brief, brief, jock, thong or etc.)

I was a big fan of briefs in the beginning. I found them really flattering for my type of body and loved the way they fit me.  I was a very “classic” type still and black was by far my favourite colour!

When you bought you first pair of underwear what brand and style was it?

I will never forget that day! I was in Milan with friends and went to the shops specifically to find a really nice pair of underwear. It was a pair of briefs by Roberto Cavalli. Very simple… all black… very elegant. That was a long long time ago and I still have it! It is in my “happy memories” drawer!

What influenced your underwear buying habits when you first started your passion (catalogues, internet or friends)

In the beginning it was mostly friends. We used to talk about clothes and underwear was a big part of it. It was mainly though what we could find in shops at home or other places we happen to visit. The Internet later on really opened my eyes!

Are there any brands you had to have when you started buying?  Did you ever get a pair?

No, I cannot say there were. I got into the “habit” of buying literally every pair I liked. Sometimes I didn’t have money to take the bus back home but at least I had a very nice, new, pair of undies!

Did your first pair still influence the styles you wear today?

Today, no, not really, but it did influence my style for a very long time. I was a big fan of classic cut briefs for quite some time but then, when I started discovering alternative cuts, I was drawn into all types of underwear. Something different, like a cut I haven’t seen before, or an innovative combination of colours or fabrics, now certainly fascinates me more.

What is your favorite style today?

Would you believe it if I told you that I don’t have one anymore? LOL I think that every cut serves a purpose in a man’s outfit. I love wearing a pair of briefs if I go out running, a pair of boxer-briefs for the gym, a nice thong or jock when I am in a sexy mood and something very creative under a suit.

Who are your favorite brands now?

It is hard to tell and as an underwear blogger I probably shouldn’t tell. LOL There are certain brands I am really looking forward to see their next collections and others that keep on amaze me with their creativity. My biggest passion though is discovering new brands. I believe the next “best thing” in the underwear industry will come from them. Lets leave it there! LOL

There is no shame in loving underwearI have been running UNB for almost 7 years. It started as a way for me to share my love of undies with the world. Did I think It would catch on and become what it is today? Never in my wildest dreams. Even to this day I will meet people who love underwear and mention I run UNB and they tell me how much they love the site. This is awesome because believe it or not I still have times when I feel like I’m putting all this out there for me. I forget that there are thousands who read it.

Over the journey I have met gay, bi and straight guys. The love of underwear is universal and we all share a bond regardless of our sexuality. There also is a bit of shame with a love of underwear. I think it’s because underwear is so personal to us. Its exposing our deep down likes and passion. Revealing that is never easy. But in the whole scheme of things in the world of likes and fetishes underwear is pretty tame!

This is the other universal of underwear. Guys of all sexual orientations aren’t open about their love. Yes, some of us are open on Twitter and other social networks. Where we can be behind a screen name and remain mainly anonymous. In real life with our friends, lovers and significant others sometimes we hide the love. Why do we do that?

Is there shame in wearing underwear to make us feel great? Women don’t seem to have this problem. They have tons of different underwear from every day pairs to sexy lingerie. It’s a given that they will wear different kinds of underwear. Whereas guys are stuck with boxers or tighty whities. Why shouldn’t guys have the same options to wear amazing and sexy underwear?

So Why do guys have this need to hide their love of underwear? I have a few reasons after years of experience with this.

Guys don’t want to be judged – As I stated above underwear is personal and we choose who we share it with. Everyone who reads UNB has something different they love in underwear. This could be mesh, spandex, bikinis, colors/prints or more. Nothing worse than taking off your pants and have a person go “what are you wearing?’ and then laughing. There should be no shame in what we like.

Not Societally Accepted – For the longest time guys were to be wearing boxers. Everyone wore them and if you wore something different then you were strange. You often hear, “A real man wouldn’t be caught dead in a bikini/thong.” Like these is something wrong with either pair. Also guys don’t talk to other guys about underwear. It’s a taboo topic

Our Partners don’t get it or like it – I have a friend who loves underwear and thongs. But when he has dated the people he dates never get his underwear. So he changes his underwear and keeps that part hidden. Hiding a major part of you is never good for a relationship. So many of us do what he’s done and keep the underwear for personal time.  Rather than incorporation it with our partners.

These reasons are all guys regardless of sexual orientation. So what can we do about this? Well, we can’t cause a societal shift over night (as much as I would like). We can take small steps in that direction.

Find guys who share your love – This may sound like a DUH tip. But it really is empowering to have a friend who you can talk about underwear. It could be new stuff, favorites we have and trends happening. It also doesn’t have to be limited to the same sexual orientation. Some of the straight guys I have met through UNB are massive underwear fans. I really enjoy getting a different perspective from the guys.

If someones asks about your underwear be honest. If a friend or someone sees you have something different, maybe a pair of 2EROS or Andrew Christian. Just say I like comfortable underwear and prefer a style and cut. Don’t grab it and shove it in your pocket and hope they won’t ask. We have had a few readers this happened too and they got their friend to try better underwear!

Be honest with your partner – Tell them your love of underwear. How it makes you feel on a daily basis and how you can incorporate it into your sex life as well. Let’s face it we are wearing great undies and we want it seen at some point and to get busy. Get them involved with what you buy and take their opinion in to consideration. Relationships are give and take so introduce them slowly into undies!

Its time we bring undies out into the open. Some of you out there this doesn’t apply too. You are open post pics on Twitter with face and share your opinion. But those who are still keeping it hidden remember you are not alone and guys out there share this same thing.

Screenshot (32)It’s summer, the sun is out (yeah, even in Seattle), the waves are rolling, and the beach is calling. And calling. And calling. Pick up the phone already!

So, now you’ve decided to go to the beach or pool and it is time to pick out a swim suit. Maybe you have one or two, maybe you have 5. And with swim suits more so than with underwear the different between styles is huge. Loose and baggy seems too frat-house. Perhaps short shorts is a good way to go. Speedos are fun but where is our confidence level now…

I want to tell you, get the suit that you WANT that you think will give you a pep in your beach walking step. If one catches your eye online and you start thinking that maybe it’s going to be too revealing or worry about how your belly will respond (I think that often) forget those thoughts! We all want to look good but in the end we all NEED to feel good. Go for it.

635499466489518454

Have I always listen to this advice? Nope. I own a grey and orange swim thong that I have worn only outside of the US and I need to just wear it, because I want to. Yet, this summer when it came time to skip down to the beach. I did wear a new floral Timoteos speedo, it’s tiny and tight and I love it. I feel great and I am not currently in my best shape.

Speedo cuts aren’t for everyone and that’s fine. They shouldn’t be. If you don’t feel comfortable in them, don’t force it. I own a couple of super cute short shorts. Like my white and mint Sauvage pair and they are just as cute as any slicked tight suit I own. And they have their place in my drawer and on any beach I choose.

Don’t hide in suits that you think you SHOULD wear, be out there in the suits you WANT to wear. Cocksox is out with a new line of suits and if they are anything like some of their underwear…be prepared to be bold. Timoteos has some extremely cute suits out, so do N2N, Sauvage, and many more.

I like to wear whatever fancies me that day, which is why I own a variety of suits. When I want to get out and get a cute tan line and have my booty pop a bit, yeah, I jump into my speedo. It just fits the mood of the day and that’s exactly what it should do. When I was a bit of a “cute and flirty” look that is more effortless to wear, I pull out my mint trunks. They are so easy to wear. So easy to never have to think about while I’m wearing them (one speedo needs some constant adjustment in the dernier region). And when I kind of want to shock those around me and be a bit of a spectacle, I pull out the thong. Even when it is just my friends in a hot tub in Whistler, it’s fun. Swim suits aren’t one size fits all. They aren’t one suit fits all moods, it all comes down to you and what you want, when.

I’ve been out to the beach a lot this summer (yeah, in Seattle, we’re heating up over here). I know what I love most about it all…my swim suit tan line, a semi lasting impression of the fun I had at water’s edge in a great suit.

Model ProfileWe bring you another great interview. This time we feature Colby Melvin who has been modeling for a few companies over the years. Its amazing to see how his career has progressed over the years. Read the interview and find out more about him and what he’s doing behind the camera now!

What was your first modeling job and how did you come to get it?

It was for Bayou Beau Underwear in Houston, TX. I had just recently come out and they came to me at a pool party and asked if I would consider modeling for them. A few weeks later a was on the cover of the local magazine in their underwear. It all took of from there! That was back in 2011.

colby_web01

What made you want to pursue modeling?

Well I never considered it before Bayou Beau approached me. After, I just kept getting more requests for work. I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do next so it started as just a temporary side job and turned into something bigger than I could have ever imagined.

Do you have a shoot that you consider your breakthrough in your career?

My shoot with Patrik Mark for Cover Male was my first national campaign, but once I shot “Jockstrap Cowboys” for Andrew Christian things really took off. That’s when I moved to Los Angeles.

colby+melvin+1

Which shoot has been your favorite? Why?

Splatter shot by Gabriel Gastellum. There was just something about getting messy in that paint where I felt like I was able to bring so much more energy and personality.

Which shoot has been your most challenging? Why?

A shoot I did in the Palm Springs desert for Freedom Reigns. I was wearing a jockstrap and there was a lot of wind. Every had your ass sandblasted? It’s not fun. Trust me, don’t try it.

Are there any brands or photographers you would like to work with that you have not worked with yet?

I think I’ve worked with a ton of brands and photographers, but I am always looking for more collaborations. Recently I have decided to work more behind the camera. I am now working with Marco Marco as the marketing director. His underwear are so fun and full of personality and I can’t wait to bring my creative ideas to my mentors brand. I think people are going to be blown away when they see what we come up with.

What is something our readers don’t know about you outside of modeling that you want them to know?

I never expected any of this to happen. 5 years ago I was living in Mobile AL and still thought I liked girls. Once I allowed myself to be myself, all of this happened. So I encourage everyone to never be afraid to be yourself.

insta_1024x1024

What kind of diet and exercise do you do to prepare for shoots?

For me the key to staying fit includes finding a way to make exercise fun. For instance, I literally dance around ALL day lol. Obviously working out is involved, but I’m not as strict with my routine as I’d like to be. Travelling non stop makes it pretty difficult.

Favorite cheat meal?

I love pizza…and gummy bears, cinnamon rolls, chicken wings, and thanks now I’m hungry.

Were you a fan of underwear before modeling?

Ever since I came out I’ve had a thing for underwear.

colby-cheapunders-watermark-city-view_1024x1024

Looking at your underwear drawer, what is it made up of?

70% briefs 30% jocks 0% thongs (I hate the feeling of my hole being flossed by a thong)

The craziest pair of underwear you have ever worn?

Petit Q (I don’t even know how to describe it.)

What are your goals for your career?

Underwear modeling for me has always been a platform to bigger and better job opportunities. Luckily that time has come. I am doing a lot more marketing work. Launched a clothing line earlier this year, and will soon be launching another one on my own.

What is the best advice anyone gave you when you started your modeling career?

Authenticity always wins. Be you and the rest will follow. If not, then it wasn’t meant to happen. That being said, if you want something bad enough, you will find a way to make it happen.

Thanks Colby for answering our questions. Find Colby on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

ERGOWEAR-0331-MAX-Suave-Bikini-Vermouth

ErgoWear makes some incredible underwear! They are keeping up this trend with the new Vermouth Suave collection. ErgoWear calls this men’s lingerie. This may scare a few of you off but don’t let it. I think that term gets a bad wrap in the world of men’s underwear. Its a term used to make underwear to feel sexy. This is not a bad thing in underwear! We all want to feel sexy!

The new Vermouth collection is offered in three different styles in the Ergowear line up. Its featured in the Feel, X3D and Max Collections. The Feel has a revolutionary seamless 3-D designed pouch. The Max is a sporty look with the signature waistband and ergonomically designed pouch. The X3D is ErgoWears original take on underwear and features the amazing ergonomically designed pouch.

Vermouth comes in an amazingly soft fabric made out of  polyester-spandex microfiber blend. Ergowear sys it is “most advanced microfiber technology up to date, being ultra soft on the skin, with high elasticity, moisture expeling and faster frying, and is surprisingly resistant to abrasion”

The pairs that are offered in this collection are the Feel Suave Bikini, Feel Suave Mini Boxer and Feel Suave Thong, Max Suave Bikini, Max Suave Boxer, Max Suave Thong, X3D Suave Bikini, X3D Suave Mini Boxer and X3D Suave Thong. The line is only available in one color, which is pinkish/purple. The Max collection has a white waistband and the Feel and X3D have covered waistbands.

If you like this line check it out! Its super sexy and fun. Right now it’s on sale at Candyman Fashion site for 20% off with code vermouth. The sale ends tomorrow 8/10/15.

Why isn't men's underwear mainstream-I have been running UNB for 7 years. Over the years I have seen more mass market acceptance of men’s underwear. The rise of the Metrosexual made it more acceptable for straight guys to start paying attention to what they wore. However, we still have a very long way to go to make it a non issue in public.

Women’s underwear has always been a non issue in the general public. Victoria’s Secret every year around Thanksgiving has a show on network TV in prime time. Rarely is anything said about this in the media or in general. What if 2(X)ist did the same thing. Would they be on a network TV or a cable channel? Would we see guys walking the runway in anything but trunks and briefs? Doubtful.

Underwear is about feeling great. I know on the people reading this I am preaching to the choir. Is it sexy? Yes it is. Its is fun? Sure is. But why is it that we can have thonged Victoria Secret models but when David Beckham is in a Super Bowl commercial we talk about hiding his bulge? Its definitely a double standard in the US.

Recently we posted about musician Steve Grand and wearing swim briefs. He’s tired of the press, pardon the pun, covering him more for wearing a swim brief than this professional career. He’s a very talented artist and would we have the same coverage of a female star in the same situation. Sure they may post a paparazzi picture but they wouldn’t dwell on it and only cover her if she wore a bikini. It would be a bonus for her and more people would discover her music. There is definitely a double standard in our country.

Outside of the gay community guys, for the most part, don’t talk underwear. It’s still something that is giggled at and thought of as pornographic. I have first hand knowledge of this thought process. When people find out I run a blog about men’s underwear. I get one of two responses. The first is “WOW that’s so cool” or “You do what?” The second is always a bit weird like they just met Larry Flint. They think it’s a totally sexual thing with no redeeming factors. Like I just post pictures of guys and go “he’s hot”, “Look at that bulge”, “I want to tap that ass” and other stuff.

For me and the purpose of UNB is to spread the word about how underwear can make you feel better and sexy throughout the day. It’s about empowerment in what you wear without judgment. In 2008 when I launched UNB I figured the blog would be for my friends who loved underwear and it wouldn’t go much farther. After 7 years we have gathered quite a following. Our straight guys have grown as well. All guys want amazing underwear regardless of sexual orientation.

How are we going to accomplish breaking out of this double standard? Regardless of sexual orientation we need to talk about underwear. What brands we love and why we love them. If we wear underwear to the gym don’t be afraid to wear something that isn’t a white brief and if someone comments (good or bad) address it and say you wear what’s comfortable and makes you feel great. These are baby steps but sometimes that just how things get done, slowly but surely. So go out, wear what you like, and don’t be afraid to talk about it, to defend it. Underwear is about you but with continued dialogue we can help make it acceptable for us.

This is part two of our Model Profiles! This past Monday we ran the post on Morné’s husband Eric Turner. This is his interview. Both are truly amazing guys! I hope we see a lot more of Morné soon. He recently shot for Eric’s underwear line, Oryx!

What was your first modeling job and how did you come to get it?

A: a runway show for Ralph Lauren golf gear. Got it through a small sports modelling agency

What made you want to pursue modeling?

A: I would not say modelling is something that I pursued as such, it was more of a hobby and something I did for fun when I could fit it in around my day job.

Do you have a  shoot that you consider your breakthrough in your career?

A: the very first shoot I ever did, was with Joseph Sinclair. Up to that point I really didn’t believe that I could take good pictures, but after seeing the images from the shoot it changed my mindset and gave me belief in myself. If it wasn’t for that first shoot I probably never would have started modeling.

Which shoot has been your favorite? Why?

A: very difficult to say as they are all fun, but if I had to pick, probably shooting on location in Ibiza with Dylan Rosser. We were basically on an amazing holiday in an amazing place, and shot in some of the most beautiful surroundings in the world. It was also our first experience shooting together, which even tho we were nervous about it at first, it turned out to be a lot of fun and we really enjoyed working together!

Which shoot has been your most challenging? Why?

A: I did a shoot in a derelict building outside of London. It was a huge factory building that had stood in ruin for many years. We were in some places high up in the structure of the building shooting some of the raw backgrounds, but with holes in the floor with a clear drop of several story’s, stair cases would just end in mid air and we would have to climb up to get the next floor, even had to walk over a beam with sheer drops on either side of several story’s. It was a health and safety nightmare and in retrospect could have gone horribly wrong, but that added to the theme of the shoot and the pictures turned out great

IMG_5877Are there any brands or photographers you would like to work with that you have not worked with yet?
Rick Day, Pat Lee and Luis Rafael

What is something our readers don’t know about you outside of modeling that you want them to know?

A: i have three passions in life. Animals, playing piano and food. My parents live on a wild life reserve in South Africa which is amazing. The reserve runs a lion conservation program. When I visit them I can spend hours just sitting there watching the lions and there are few things I find more fascinating than that. I also absolutely adore dogs. Even more than people I’d say lol. I taught myself how to play the piano and that is my favourite form of self expression and creative outlet. I just lose myself in the music and can sit there playing until my fingers cramp! Lastly I have a long standing love affair with food. I love being in the kitchen, trying new recipes and cooking for friends and family. Eating to me is an experience that brings people together and not just something you do to survive

What kind of diet and exercise do you do to prepare for shoots?

A: Generally I try and eat as sensibly as I can. I avoid fats and simple carbs and eat a lot of lean meats, although I do have cheat meals. When I’m preparing for a shoot, I just stop the cheat meals and start increasing the cardio I do in the morning before breakfast.

Favorite cheat meal?

A: I have a massive sweet tooth and love cake, especially the ones I bake myself. I have a couple of kick ass recipes!

Were you a fan of underwear before modeling?

A: Yes. Especially in photography. I find it incredibly sexy if done well

Looking at your underwear drawer, what is it made up of?  % boxer briefs, % briefs, % jocks, % thongs.

A: 50% briefs, 50% trunks

The craziest pair of underwear you have ever worn?

What are your goals for your career?

A: I would like to be in senior management of my company in 5 years, be able to retire when I’m around 50 and start my own charity

What is the best advice anyone gave you when you started your modeling career?

A: modelling has a shelf life. Don’t rely on it and have a career you can fall back on

We have along history with Eric Turner here at UNB. He has always supported us and been a good friend to the blog. He is one of the first models I ever met. He’s never had attitude, but he’s always been a pleasure to work with. He is also one of the funniest people I know! He’s now branched out and started his own line of underwear called Oryx

What was your first modeling job and how did you come to get it?

When I was 16 I knew a woman who was doing a runway show that involved hair modeling. She asked me to do it, so I did.

What made you want to pursue modeling?

I don’t know if I’d say modeling is something I’ve ever truly ‘pursued.’ It’s something I’ve always as a fun, side thing to everything else I have going on. It just so happens that it’s lead to other opportunities in my life, but I’ve never actually pursued the modeling.

Pistol Pete - Photo By James Franklin
Pistol Pete – Photo By James Franklin

Do you have a shoot that you consider your breakthrough in your career?

The first time I met with an agent, she looked at several photos I’d had taken, and then looked across her desk at me and said, “There’s nothing I can do to help you.” So I determined that I needed to be realistic about my modeling ‘expectations’ and get a real job. I moved to Phoenix a couple years later, and Carlos Arias tried to convince me to shoot. It took him a year to convince me to finally shoot, and after we did it opened up all sorts of other opportunities for me.

Which shoot has been your favorite? Why?

Morne’ and I shot with Dylan Rosser in Ibiza. Aside from Dylan being a really great and fun guy, the shoot was an excuse for a vacation in paradise. When we weren’t shooting with Dylan, we were experiencing everything the Mediterranean had to offer: incredible food, amazing scenery and sunsets, and some of the most incredible beaches in the world. They say that everything in life is better when you have someone to share it with, and it just ended up being an incredible experience, being able to experience it with Morne’.

Photo by Eric Dickson for Oryx
Photo by Eric Dickson for Oryx

Which shoot has been your most challenging? Why?

The first time I shot with Pat Lee in Chicago, it was the day before a bodybuilding show. As such, I was very depleted, with low energy, and little water. We ended up getting incredible shots, but I’ve never cramped so bad in all my life, as when I was trying to flex and hold poses for Pat.

Are there any brands or photographers you would like to work with that you have not worked with yet?

Now having started my own brand of underwear, Oryx, it’s been my main focus for shoots. I’ve been really lucky to have worked with some world-class photographers. Of anyone I can think I’d want to shoot with, it’s Simon Le, in Australia. But the distance has posed a problem. And if he was still living, I’d JUMP at the opportunity to shoot with Herb Ritts. He was an incredible photographer, and every one of his images has become iconic when thinking about the male figure. Two I would also like to work with are Serge Lee and Tibo Norman

What is something our readers don’t know about you outside of modeling that you want them to know?

I’m actually really shy and get really bad social anxiety around people I don’t know. If I’m at a house party, I’ll always be up against the wall, minding my own business- and never the guy who is the life of the party, unless I feel really comfortable with the people who are there.

What kind of diet and exercise do you do to prepare for shoots?

When I’m prepping for a shoot I increase my cardio slowly over the weeks preceding the shoot, and I start cycling my carbs. It’s unhealthy to go completely low carb. So I’ll have days where I do low carb to draw the fat out, but then days with medium and high carbs to re-energize myself.

Favorite cheat meal?

Cake, cookies, and ice cream. I LOVE baked goods.

Were you a fan of underwear before modeling?

Absolutely. I had several drawers full of underwear, most of them I’d never even wear.

Looking at your underwear drawer, what is it made up of? % boxer briefs, % briefs, % jocks, % thongs.

I’d say 60% briefs, 30% trunks, and 10% boxer briefs. No thongs and no jock straps.

11350612_974811569237061_3259993040085583568_n

The craziest pair of underwear you have ever worn?

As a gag one year for Halloween I wore a thong that had an elephant trunk in the front.

What are your goals for your career?

To build Oryx to be a lifestyle brand that comes to people’s minds when they think of quality and great fitting underwear.

What is the best advice anyone gave you when you started your modeling career?

Be realistic. Honestly, the best thing that ever happened to me was the agent who told me that I’d never be a model. It made me realize how fickle this industry is. A model can be the most perfect model one person has ever seen, and to the person next to them they can be hideous looking. That experience helped me to realize that if I was ever going to do any modeling, that it needed to be something I did on the side, because I’d never make a living out of it- at least not a long-term career. Most models have such unrealistic expectations. At any given time, there are 5 or 6 supermodels in the world, and none of them are male. So having realistic expectations of what to expect out of a ‘modeling career’ is critical to not only not be disappointed, but having a real job that’s going to provide for you.

9002 (6)UndiesMonday is all about wearing what you love! Its not that you have to wear a fetish pair, a thong or mesh. It’s about wearing underwear you feel great in wearing. Embracing your personal style and loves. Then making sure you wear a very good part on a Monday. Why not make Monday a better day by wearing something that makes you feel amazing!

This week’s pair we are profiling is the Clever X-Long Boxer. Like we said above not everyone is going to want to wear something skimpy. Other guys love boxer briefs and longer underwear. Long boxer briefs definitely offer some advantages over other pairs. They can give you extra support in our legs. I tend to wear them when I”m going to be very active. The tight material makes me feel better while doing more strenuous activities.

Long Boxer briefs are very sexy too. This may sound like a contradiction for me. However, I love how they make the legs look. A guy with great legs will look amazing in these. Especially if you have bigger thighs. It shows off the development without giving the whole package away. Not all guys like showing if all off, they like to leave some to the imagination.

The Clever X-Long Boxer come just above the knee. They are made out of a 94% cotton/6% spandex blend. The pair will definitely give you some support and conform to your body. Available in 4 colors; Black, blue, green and white. You can find this pair at the Candyman Fashion site for $28.48. Check out all the pairs!

NOTE: UNB Tim does consulting work for CandymanFashion/GDD world.

9789_9384cLet’s face it sometimes you need fun and different in the underwear drawer. One of those pairs is the Andrew Christian BLOW! Bubble Butt Jock. Andrew Christian is no stranger to creating fun and interesting pairs of underwear. One that comes to mind is the Spider Thong.

You maybe asking what is a Bubble Butt Jock? It’s a take on the classic jock by Andrew Christian. The back has a double strap design. “n three bright colors, each pair features bright neon contrast trim and stitching. It sports our signature extra wide BLOW! waistband for extra support and style and features our Show-It Technology, which is a hidden “comfy cup” that gently lifts and provides excellent frontal support and enhancement”

The colors it comes in are Red/Blue, Blue/White and Blue/Black. Each one features the fun BLOW Waistband. This pair also features the show it technology. If you aren’t familiar its the pouch designed to show off what you have. This along with the back will show it all off.

In our latest Model Profile we sit down with Maurice Bright. He’s an up and coming model in the world of underwear. Here is your chance to get to know more about this amazing guy.

What was your first modeling job and how did you come to get it?

My 1st modeling job was a swimwear style shoot for Lupo. I got the job by building a solid relationship with Lupo North America’s general manager Malcolm over time and he believed in me before I really did any extensive modeling.

What made you want to pursue modeling?

For a long time I felt like from head to toe I was a rarity in appearance. Attractive enough to fit a “model” mold but unique looking enough to be able to rise in the ranks efficiently given the work.

Do you have a shoot that you consider your breakthrough in your career?

The Lupo shoot, by far. Working with photographer Rawy Rayan to create those images really set the tone for my career.

image2-1

Which shoot has been your favorite? Why?

My latest shoot for my Chocolat campaign, with photographer Diana Etienne. I really liked that shoot because it was not so “harsh” so to speak, a lot softer and artistic than my previous shoots.

Which shoot has been your most challenging? Why?

The Lupo shoot was the most challenging simply because it was a 5 hour shoot in the BLAZING heat haha.

Are there any brands or photographers you would like to work with that you have not worked with yet?

I’d love to work with Ricky Day, his work his phenomenal. I’d also like to shoot with Luis Rafael. As far as brands, I’m quite comfortable with the idea of modeling for Lupo exclusively to be honest.

What is something our readers don’t know about you outside of modeling that you want them to know?

Uhm, I’ve been actively writing poetry for about 14 years of my life now and I love it!

What kind of diet and exercise do you do to prepare for shoots?

My diet is more flexible than other’s may think – I frequent Chinese food, Wendy’s and etc. but I make sure these foods fit my macronutrient requirements for the day. I tend to cut out diet sodas as a shoot nears as well. The exercises I do remain the same, lifting heavy but I do add more high intensity interval training like speed clean & jerks to shed a wee bit more body fat if needed.

image6

Favorite cheat meal?

I’ve recently rekindled my love for brownies so yeah, those haha.

Were you a fan of underwear before modeling?

Not really but I’m discovering some really gnarly brands out there so I’m learning more as the days go by!

Looking at your underwear drawer, what is it made up of?  % boxer briefs, % briefs, % jocks, % thongs.

My underwear drawer is 70% boxers and 30% briefs but I’m really interested in trying out some jocks especially given my activeness.

The craziest pair of underwear you have ever worn?

Haven’t worn anything TOO crazy to be honest. I’d say these really tight Hollister briefs haha, didn’t really anticipate how snug they were going to be but my thighs and glutes are quite muscular so yeah.

image2

What are your goals for your career?

To be one of the most known muscle models in the world, scoring a slew of work in underwear modeling but also remaining well respected in the fit model community.

What is the best advice anyone gave you when you started your modeling career?

“Don’t ever rush greatness, continuously feed it and be patient about it’s growth.”

Fetish FridayFetish wear is not just leather and black. It can be anything that is out of the ordinary for men’s underwear. That could include lace, satin, latex, rubber or leather. The item we choose for this week’s Fetish Friday is the Body Aware Smooth Satin Bodysuit. This is because we have all the new singlets on the market. But this is something to the next level! It’s sexy and fun.

BodyAware is well known in mixing the masculine and feminine side of men’s underwear. The mixing of satin, lace and more feminine cuts to the undies. They just have fun making undies and guys seem to love it. The Smooth Satin Bodysuit is a pair of underwear and a tank all in one. Except this bodysuit has a thong back! Here is the official description: “Soft, supple and very shiny satin thong bodysuit for men. This superb sport-styled bodysuit provides shape and support with a flattering style that highlights your shoulders, waist and butt. Constructed of smooth satin blend of polyester/spandex that is lightweight and stretchy. Allows you to move freely, without constriction. Center seam down front and back provides perfect contouring and fit. Step-in styling and rounded neckline. Thong back.”

You maybe asking where would you wear it? I guess any you want! It could be worn under jeans and out to a bar. Also you could wear it under your work clothes (suit or uniform), but we would recommend you wearing the white one for that. Other colors may come through!

The pair comes in four different colors. They are white, black, navy and turquoise. The Smooth Satin Bodysuit is $39.95 at the BodyAware Site!

What was your first modeling gig and how did you come to get it?
I live in Chicago, and every year there’s this event called “Out at the Park” held at Six Flags. This organization rents out Six Flags and al the queers come out and ride the rides and get drunk and it’s super duper fun. Last year, I took a party bus sponsored by one of the bars, and my partner and I made all sorts of new friends. One of the people we met was a scout for an agency in Chicago, and while we were in line for the wooden old roller coaster, he turned to me and asked me if I’d ever considered modeling before. I laughed about it, and thought it was the funniest thing, and then he followed up the next day and was like “no seriously you should submit.” I’d showed up to an open call with a bunch of printed off Instagram selfies, and somehow got signed. They hooked me up with a bunch of really great photographers, and I’ve been going on shoots pretty consistently ever since. So, I guess my “first modeling gig” was “getting drunk at Six Flags,” and it’s been a roller coaster ride ever since.

What made you want to pursue modeling?IMG_5561
I really enjoy photo shoots! I could try to fancy myself up and be all like “I enjoy the art of collaboration” but that’d be a lie. I like to laugh, and usually I laugh a lot on shoots.

Which shoot do you consider your breakthrough in your career?
I mean, my shoot with Ross Haley for MalePower got me here, so that’s pretty cool. Let’s go with that.

Which shoot has been your favorite? Why?
One of my very first shoots as a “professional” was with my good friend Caitlainne Gurreri, who’s based out of LA but gets to Chicago a lot. Her and I have been close since my second semester of college, and she has this amazing sense of composition. I asked her if she could take some ‘lifestyle’ shots of my boyfriend and I in our first apartment together, after I got us kicked out because I got in a fight with the washing machine (I’d like to say there’s more to the story than that, but that pretty much sums it up), and that shoot was absolutely my #1 favorite shoot. Working with Caitlainne was so easy, and shooting with Dave (my BF) was so much fun because literally all we did was laugh at each other and the silly faces we were making. Caitlainne and I have worked together solo a few times since then, and her and I have a great working relationship, she’s the person I go to whenever I have a question or a worry (or even when I get asked to fill out an interview by a fun underwear blog!), but there was something special about that first shoot with her, and his name is Dave. =) BY THE WAY. http://www.beautyrosephotography.com/. She’s the best. I’ve also worked with Ray of Covet Images a bunch, and have loved working with him. We have a super similar aesthetic, and it’s really easy to work with somebody who’s as easy-going as he is.

Which shoot has been your most challenging? Why?
My agency hooked me up with a shoot for Ward’s catalogue, and it was the first hot summer day of 2015, and we were inside and I was wearing Phat Farm winter coats. It was so sweaty! But look for me in a money mailer coming your way!
RSH_OT_MP_16
Are there any brands or photographers you would like to work with that you have not worked with yet?
SO MANY! Kevin of the @skinlikedawnproject has some really fantastic stuff, and we’re mutual admirers of each other’s work. I’m hoping to maybe get something set up with him when my BF and I visit Georgia later this year (hi Kevin!). There’s the team at @skinandbonemag who I’ve been trading messages back and forth with, I think their shoots are really fun to page through! Brandswise, I’d love to work with Pump!, but I need a bunch more Instagram followers (and abs) before that’s a thing that could happen.
What is something that your fans don’t know about you outside of modeling that you want them to know?
I am a huge baseball fan, like to the point of subscribing to statistics websites and memorizing Moneyball (the book, notIMG_5503 the movie) as a teenager. and I’m named after the Hall of Fame shortstop for the St Louis Cardinals, Ozzie Smith. My team is the Minnesota Twins, though, who are having an AMAZING season out of nowhere, and I’m so proud of my boys.
But I can tell you exactly what idiot transactions led to the tire fire that is the 2015 Miami Marlins, or talk for hours about why the Anaheim Angels are my least favorite team in the game(I will never forgive them for 2002). I also love how the sport has really nailed the presentation of statistics to the casual fan; a big part of my day job is figuring out how to translate complex statistics and trends to laypeople, and find myself idolizing the writing staffs at Fangraphs and Grantland for their ability to turn the databases and pie graphs into compelling stories.
So that’s what you should all know about me.
What kind of diet and exercise do you do to prepare for shoots?
I try to eat relatively healthy, which makes it easy to prepare because you’re starting off from a good base. I start every day with a green smoothie (which started when I was unemployed and I got drunk and bought this app that had like 20 recipes for $6, so then I woke up the next day and was like “shit I better actually use this, I don’t have the $6 to justify just deleting this.” And I ended up really liking how they helped me to jump start my day, especially compared to the Cinnamon Toast Crunch I was eating in the mornings before that). I try not to eat too much meat and avoid dairy (I’m very lactose intolerant), I get most of my protein from nuts and powders (by the way, those plant-based powders are a god-send for us lactose-free folks). I go to the gym regularly, I like morning gym time because it’s easier to start your day with gym energy than to muster it after a long day at the office.
So for shoot-specific prep, I make sure that I’ve gone to the gym a few times the week before, I make sure that I didn’t eat a pint of ice cream the night before, and I make sure I had a good nights sleep. That’s about all you can do while staying sane.
RSH_OT_MP_2
Looking at your underwear drawer, what is it made up of?  % boxer briefs, % briefs, % jocks, % thongs.
All briefs and jocks. No thongs, I don’t like their feel or the way the sit on me. Boxer briefs are the worst, they roll up my legs and never make me feel cute. You’ll find a lot of 2xist, a lot of Andrew Christian, and a lot of underwear that makes me feel good. Underwear is literally the only thing you wear that is JUST for you, so it better make you feel good.
The craziest pair of underwear you have ever worn?
There’s this see-through neon mesh pair of Andrew Christians I have…does that count?
Most embarrassing photo shoot situation?
I don’t get embarrassed that much, if I feel myself beginning to feel weird I just start to laugh about it instead. Though if you ask my boyfriend, or most of my close friends, they’ve all seen some pretty amazing embarrassing pictures of me.
I guess there was this one shoot I did where I was sucking popsicles and wearing a swimsuit that gave me mom butt, but that was so much fun to shoot! Plus I got to eat like six popsicles, so really, it all worked out.
I said above that I’m lactose intolerant, but I also live in Chicago, and sometimes the pizza is worth the bloat. Piece Pizza in Wicker Park is my favorite, which is great because I work right down the street for my day job. And when the BF and I want to order in, we have this place called Nancy’s which is so good but also always surprisingly expensive. I spent $40 the last time we ordered there, for one pizza. But it was so worth it.
What goes through your mind right before you have to do these revealing shoots?
“I’m hungry. Should I have eaten something? Did I leave the air conditioner on? What am I making for dinner tonight? Oh no, tomorrow is laundry day. I hate laundry day. Maybe I can make boo do it, instead. How can I trick boo into thinking it’s his turn to do the laundry? Is it too hot in here? It’s totally too hot in here, I’m sweating balls. Do I get to run the music for this shoot? Gesuz, that’s a lot of pressure. What if they hate my playlist choices? Everybody likes Kanye West, right? Yeah, it’ll be fine. Everybody loves Kanye.”I have lots of thoughts. Most of them have nothing to do with the shoot. I’ll get up in my head about it before I even walk in the room, and that’s not how you wanna approach life.
What are your goals for your career?
Well, I’ve surpassed most of the goals I set for myself when I started doing this, so I guess it’s time to reevaluate. I’d really like to take a selfie next to a picture of myself on a train platform, I think that’d be hilarious and I’d have FAR too much fun with that. Can you imagine the Facebook likes I’d get?? I’d also like to work with a menswear store in Chicago, for a full lookbook, like what’s going on at Akira Mens this fall, oh look it’s Ozzie! That’d be super fun.
And then to keep working with super cool people! I’ve met some really funny folks doing this, and want to keep that going!
What is the best advice anyone gave you when you started your modeling career?
When I was just starting, Caitlainne told me to just go on as many shoots as possible. I had no idea what I looked like on camera, and it takes a lot of effort to get it right. I still think I have work to do, but the only way you can get better at it is if you actually do it. Even if it means working for free, getting the experience valuable.

Travel & UnderwearWell, actually, mostly all briefs and a few jockstraps but the word play was just too tempting. Hi! My name is Tim and on Twitter I tweet under the name @underloverwear. I have been in love with higher end underwear ever since I would sneak the Nordstroms catalog into my bedroom and stare at the models, even in tightie whities. When I was 13 I bought my first pair of Calvin Klein, black, hip briefs and my obsession was sealed. Generally I sway towards fun, bright briefs and very supportive, active jockstraps but I try to have a good sample of everything.

WP_20150720_20_41_39_Pro

A few years ago I got to live out one of my dreams and moved oversees for a year, to France. Oh la la, c’est vrai. I had studied French throughout college and this was the perfect time in life to get some travelling under my belt. I took a position with the French Education Ministry to teach English in Normandy for 8 months. It was the perfect chance to get long term paperwork to live in France and have a small bit of income coming in throughout the time there.

Now, this was not my first in Europe or in France. I can say that I definitely have a pair of cute trunks with the French tricolor (their flag) on my ass.  When I was in my “home town” of Caen I tried to go underwear shopping. The mission was not going super well and I bounced between stores for a better part of the afternoon before settling on a sheer black bikini from HOM Chic. It was by chance that I picked up a French brand among all of the offerings.

Then it hit me, underwear was a perfect souvenir. Sure one can always pick up some cute knick-knacks and take tons of photos but underwear is interactive and special. It gives you that extra bounce in your step and can be kept as that day’s little secret. So why not have it remind you of an amazing trip, a fun city, a moment in time?

WP_20150720_20_41_17_ProFor the rest of my year living and teaching in France I tried to travel a lot. Hitting two different locations or countries every time I had a two week break. First up, Ireland. I am IN love with Dublin and now I have a Modus Vivendi green jockstrap to remind me of the streets of Temple Bar, of meeting new friends at The George, and taking a bus out to Glendaloche. Also, it makes my ass look amazing.

I was not always able to find countries or cities with local or native underwear companies so.  In the case of Ireland, I tried to tie it together some other way (green might be cliché but that’s okay with me). Edinburgh is thought of every time I slip into my (slightly small) black briefs with bright orange trim.

And not only is having the underwear great but buying it is too. Generally I would find the “gay” neighborhood or street or area of the city, if there was one, and explore if they had any underwear or even sex items shop, since they often have a small selection of undies in them. Cities like London, Paris, and Berlin these were easily spotted and explored. Other cities like Dublin and Stockholm did not seem to have them. In these instances I would turn to the dreaded department store to browse the racks of universally sold underwear from big names.

In one instance a guy on Grindr directed me to an underground sex store in Stockholm that had a small wall of undies. I checked it out but in the end decided to go with Sweden’s own Bjorn Borg for good measure. Most times that I would ask guys on Grindr if there were any specific stores to go to. I would get a very typical response that they just go to the big box stores or they buy them online.

WP_20150720_20_42_12_ProSometimes, like with England (London specifically) I went with a native brand, SURKEW, and scored even bigger because it used the good ole Union flag as the pattern. In Berlin I got a mesh pair of briefs that I was not 100% in love with, so what did I do? I bought my first ever singlet. Now I will never forget Berlin.

As mentioned, London, Paris, and Berlin had huge selections, multiple stores, and pairs for days! Browsing through selections was so much fun. Brands from home that I love, like Timoteos and Jack Adams, weren’t found much over there. I got introduced more to Addicted and ES3. It was fun to see the difference in brands. In some places (cough, Germany, cough) had a wider selection of kinky or fetish themed underwear.

I mostly stuck to my favorites with briefs and jockstraps.  In France, I tried some new ones too. I picked up a grey swim thong with orange piping and a black and maroon square cut jockstrap just to try something a bit new. You never know what you might like if you don’t try.

My friends rolled their eyes at me when I told them of my souvenir plan. But I honestly can’t think of a better way to commemorate a trip. Without trying to sound too hokey. every time I step into those undies, I step back in time and think about that year, that trip, that place and that pair of underwear gives me an extra spring in my step that day.

So what all ended up in the Souvenir Trunk:

  • Dublin: Green Modus Vivendi Jockstrap
  • Edinburgh: Black and Orange hip briefs BRAND
  • Stockholm: Multi color Bjorn Borg trunks
  • Berlin: Andrew Christian black mesh briefs, BRAND assless singlet
  • Paris: Addicted Jockstrap, BRAND Jockstrap, BRAND swim thong, Sheer HOM Chic bikini
  • London: SURKEW Union flag trunk with peek a boo hole
  • Boston (on my way home to Seattle): Lavender Calvin Klein Steel briefs

undiesmondays
Let’s face it how many of us actually look forward to Monday? Anyone? I didn’t think so, no one is happy for Monday to come rolling around. Many of us spend the weekends in our swim briefs by a pool/beach or lake. Others to out to Fetish nights and wear the stuff we wish we could wear during the week. Lastly there are those who just want to hang in their undies all weekend and relax.

We have a blast over the weekend and then reality makes us come crashing back to earth to be a responsible adult again. So what are we to do? We want to start #undiesmondays. Which is to wear a fun pair of underwear every Monday. Fun depends on your definition. It could be a thong, trunk, bikini or anything that makes you feel awesome. This pair could be something you may not wear a regular basis or one of your favorites.

We all know great underwear gives you a bit of confidence. It can change your mood and put a smile on your face. We hear many of you guys with similar stories all the time, so why not start doing this every Monday. It will give us something to look forward to on Monday morning.

Starting next Monday Tweet us or Instagram us with hashtag #undiesmondays and tell us what you are wearing!

We all have those long shot dreams that we don’t ever really think will come true. For me, that was becoming some kind of underwear model. Let’s face it, I hate the gym and work out very reluctantly, I don’t have an athletic build or a classically handsome face. The dream was never going to happen.

That love and long shot dream started when I was 13 years old and would sneak clothing catalogs into my bedroom to look at the underwear section. I did not know why or what it was about them, but I was captivated. I would see those men in the catalogs and I somehow wanted to be like them, in any small way.

I grew up in a very conservative household where things weren’t flashy, tight, or sexy. Things were very traditional, expected, and plain. Except…for my new, secret underwear collection that all started with a pair of Calvin Klein hip briefs. The packaging caught my eye for how they cut across the thigh, how they formed a well-rounded bulge, and how bold the black was. After a few more pairs of Armani Exchange and Tommy I bought a grey, Calvin Klein thong. The obsession and slight rebellion was in full force.

What was it about the underwear? No one besides me ever saw it. Heck, when your first kiss doesn’t come until you’re 18, it’s not like your seductively pulling down your pants for a captivate audience.

What was it? It was my secret, move over Victoria these were mine. Sitting just under my clothes these well-made, sultry undies hugged my lil bum and supported everything that needed it but more than that, they made me happy. Really happy. It made me smile in secret, it made me feel attractive, attractive! I was a goofy looking kind, big nose, straw hair, slightly gangly, just about average height but underneath I had a secret weapon.

The obsession grew and grew.

In college I branched out from my safe, known brands and into new and exciting territories. I started to get Andrew Christians, 2xist, Diesel, Aussie Bum, and Timoteo. At the time I would always go for regular briefs or trunks. I don’t mind trunks but briefs, and later jockstraps and thongs, are what really excite me when it comes to different cuts.

I was in love with the colors, the styles, the design and the feel. Knowing that at any moment I could slip out of my pants and be rocking some cute baby blue Diesel briefs or bulging out in some white lined red Andrew Christians.

And then one day, I snapped a photo. *click*

These days who hasn’t taken a “naked selfie” or in my case an “undies selfie”? They were happening way before camera phones and I’m sure they will continue with whatever technology comes next. The camera phone and subsequent smart phone sure did make them easy. I wanted to share my picture. Not just with a few close guy friends but I wanted people to see it because I felt SO attractive, so cute, so proud of myself in those photos and believe me, I had a few photos to share.

Twitter. The first time I launched @underloverwear on Twitter just last summer I started with a simple tweet: For my first tweet I thought a thong would be good #underwear #manthong. With a photo of my backside and a classic cut, teal, Andrew Christian thong. In my mind, the world exploded at that instant. Seeing as I only had 7 or 10 followers by that time I was blown away that it got retweeted almost 20 times and liked almost twice as much.

Thus, my tweeting began. I would post every few days and tried to find all of the brands and other enthusiasts to follow. Sometimes a photo would hit it big and I would be lifted even higher that day. Other times photos would sit there with just a little attention, but that was okay. It was all fun and apart of this new, uncharted adventure.

I kept my face out of the photos for the beginning until some fun, fellow tweeter @Chase_Z91 told me how much more personality my photos had with all of me in it. Sure, the photos of my bum had always been the most popular but now when I would post a frontal photo with my smiling or smirking face, people noticed. From there I was shocked and humbled by the numbers of likes, retweets, and followers. I never thought it would get anywhere near 300, or 500, or 1000, or 2000 like it has.

So, maybe it’s not the same as being that guy in the catalogs that I used to sneak into my bedroom. And maybe it’s not the same as actually working as an underwear model. And maybe it will all end tomorrow. But it has helped fulfill that long shot, impossible dream of mine and I am excited with each and every post. I’ve amassed a small collection of around 200 pairs of underwear and each and every one of them gives me the ability to be, in a small way, like those underwear models I used to see in the catalogs and let me share what was once just my secret.

UnderwearNot all of our readers are experienced in the world of underwear. We get many new guys wanting to know what’s out on the market. They maybe currently wearing boxers, tighty whites  or six packs from a big box store.  But they yearn for something way better! If you are that guy this post is for you!

Step 1: Find out what style you want to wear. I would suggest if you are a tighy whities I would suggest buying a brief. If you wear six pack boxer briefs or boxers I’d suggest a Boxer Brief/Trunk. It would be the closest to what you are currently wearing and not a big jump to something crazy. Now I’m not saying you shouldn’t get a thong or jock but you may want to dip your toe in underwear waters slowly.

040133_10001--426_583--91261317

Step 2: Pick a brand to buy. There are hundreds of underwear companies out there. And more enter the market every month and it can seem overwhelming if you don’t know what exactly you would like. Hell, look at this blog and all the pairs we cover. I can’t keep up at times! If you’re just starting out I would suggest going with a classic underwear company like Calvin Klien, 2(X)ist or C-IN2. The latter two each have basic lines that are classic cut and colors. CK has many lines that are classic styled but and they don’t do too many wild colors.

6864f896ff2e4895a44e45baa3539be5-Jpg-500-500-Cropped-High

Step 3: Pick a spectrum of color. Now that you have narrowed down the brands you want it’s time to pick color. You can stick to classic colors (Black, Grey and White) or you can branch out. When I started with underwear I went wild for colors. It was 4-5 years before I even bought a white pair. I grew up on tighy whities and the last thing I wanted was white! But this is not everyone. If you have a job where you change at work or  at the gym. You probably would be best served getting a black or white. Very few pay attention to these colors in the locker room. Now sport a pink or orange brief and you may turn a few heads.

Unknown-32

Step 4: Buy a pair of underwear! Now that you figured out the style, brand and color its time to go buy. You can go to an underwear store or department store in your area. But I remember when I was buying undies and would get embarrassed that the clerk would think of me buying a bikini. After a while I realized most really don’t care and just ring it up. If you are a bit skittish we suggest buying from one of the big retailers such as Mensunderwearstore.com or International Jock. They have big selections and you will be able to find a pair that meets your criteria. If you want to support a smaller online store buy from them such as Drawerfull, UnderBriefs and HisJock, All of them awesome smaller stores.

Step 5: Wear your Underwear. The day it arrives you’ll be all excited and will rush to put it on and see how it fits. If you’re new to the world of designer underwear, I would suggest wear it around the house first. Because the pair you get may not fit you as amazing as you may think. There is nothing worse than wearing a pair of underwear to work that drives you crazy.  If it fits great after a few hours at home brave it and wear it to work.

Step 6: Buy more underwear. Now that you found out what you like buy more of those and then slowly branch out. If you bought a brief get a trunk and vice vera. Try them out and work your way up to jock, jock brief, thong or something else fun!

We hope this helps in your search for the best underwear. We want all the guys who come here to have amazing underwear! If you have any questions feel free to email us or reach out to us on our Twitter account!

FetishFriday!

It’s Fetish Friday! That day we profile something super fun and not your everyday wear! It could be something to wear for a “romantic” night or to a Bar night. These pairs would be for the former unless you are an exhibitionist. The pairs we choose are the Candyman S&M Costumes.

These 3 styles you could have your very on 50 Shades of Grey in the bedroom. As you would expect all three are black but a variation of fun! The first is one for those who love a thong. The 99157 S&M Costume is a mix of a thong and harness with a blindfold and cuffs. Both the cuffs and blindfold are made out of a leather looking material. The thong has almost a harness like look, it crosses in the front and goes over the shoulders. It’s for those who aren’t shy and want to have fun wearing it!

The next style the 99159 is a pair of mesh boxer briefs and a blind fold. You may think you will show off less in this but you would be wrong! The boxer briefs are mesh, except the pouch, and has a lace up back. The blindfold is made out of the same leather like material with some accents around the edge! It’s super fun and sexy!

The last style is the 99161 which is the same as the 99159 except it has the cuffs instead of the blindfold. Granted the cuffs are not super tight but all these are for fun. If you want both the cuffs and blinforld get the 9915.

If you want the real S&M experience you need to get something a bit more fetishy. But for something fun to spice up the bedroom these could just do the trick. Thsee aren’t too over the top or too intense if you want to dip your toe in on the fetish side with your partner. One of the biggest trends in fetish wear is S&M style. More and more brands are having fun with this style of of underwear.

They are super fun and sexy! You can find these at Candyman Fashion

NOTE: UNB Tim does consulting work for GDD World and Candyman Fashion.

IMG_1030We all love underwear, swimwear and activewear of some sort if you are reading this blog. We want to profile our readers and how you discovered your love of underwear! Next month we want to run a week long series of guys sharing their stories. Its interesting how there are many things each of us have in common and the amazing differences.

This is not just for the gay guys. We want the straight and bi guys to share and give a different perspective. Also, guys who like different styles (boxer briefs, briefs, jocks, thongs and etc). Its all about sharing what we love with your fellow underwear lovers.

You maybe asking what should be included? When did you first notice underwear? When did you buy your first pair and why did you choose that pair? Did anyone influence your purchases? or did advertisements expose you to the new brands? If you are young enough did the internet aid your discovery of brands?

Then flash forward and tell us what you love today and how your initial love still influences your purchasing decisions today. Even to this day I love a bikini, the first style I bought and wore!

If you are interested send us an email info@underwearnewsbriefs.com and we can get you more details. Just note we aren’t looking for an overly sexual story but what made you fall in love with great undies!

You guys said you wanted to see real guys! This is Blake, he sent his pic in to be featured as one of our real guys! Here is a little about him: I have been an underwear lover for over 25 years.  Started back when I was about 10 years old.  Trying on that first bikini got me hooked.  Now years later I have a collection of over 1000 pairs.  Styles ranging from thongs to bikinis to jocks to boxers.  My favorite has to be bikinis and thongs

If you want to be featured here email us a pic or two and a little about you and what undies you love!

Flag inspired underwear and swimwear have been around for a long time. I remember in the 90’s Tommy Hilfiger created Flag Boxers. This year we have a few pairs for you to show your patriotism. They come from a variety of brands and range from underwear to swimwear! Here are a few pairs to check out

resize_0560-1Clever Flag 0560 Swim Brief – This is a staple of the Clever line. The 0560 brief has been around for over a year. It’s proven to be one of the popular pairs. The weathered flag print and full cut has made it one that looks great at the pool or beach.  Find this pair at the Candyman Fashion  site for $61.90

99154(2)Candyman Thong 99154 Patriotic Thong – Not every pair of flag inspired is a brief. We couldn’t leave out the thong lovers from this list. Candyman’s new collection has the new Patriotic thong. Its a wide waistband with a flag pouch. Yes, you can make thongs with a flag print! Find this pair at the Candyman Fashion site for $13.48

Unknown-26Neptio Flag Brief – Not every pair has to be a literal flag, some have a unique take on the design. The Neptio Flag brief has a solid front of stars on a blue background and red/white stripes in the back. Top that with a solid white waistband this makes it one for the list. You can find this pair at ABC Underwear for $28.

Justice BriefPistol Pete Justice Brief – We have profile this pair before but think it deserves another look! The flag print on this pair is one you can get your friends to salute too! Its a little brighter and a print that looks a little worn. Made in a full swim brief you can celebrate with out showing too much off! Available at the Pistol Pete website for $48.50

CRC-S207200-1_4CA-RIO-CA Team USA Classic – This is a great pair featuring the Flag on the front and a solid red in the back with USA across the back. This is the the traditional sunga cut that is worn in Brazil. Meaning it’s a larger cut with out a traditional pouch. Find this pair at the CA-RIO-CA site for $89.95
