These two guys are amazing to work with. Martin and Chandler. Our shoots are a lot of fun when we do a swimwear shoot. The boys are decked out in N2N Bodywear and taken by Taylor Campbell. Stay tuned for a new shoot
It’s time to stand out in swimwear. We have brought you a series of swimwear. This includes the starter swim brief, a thong and more. If you have ventured out into the world in a swim brief earlier in the year, now is the time to wear something fun and awesome. The Bruno Mens Wear Attitude collection is that pair. This line is just as the name says.
The Bikini Swimwear has a “psychedelic” print. Well, that’s what Bruno Mens Wear calls it. I call it a bright fun print. It’s not my definition of psychedelic but everyone has their own definition. The print is one of the best I have seen this year. It’s one I definitely would wear on the beach.
It’s not a skimpy bikini. It’s definitely a brief cut. The sides look to be about 2 inches on each side. So, if you’re worried about it being too small I don’t think you will have that issue. The pair also has a draw string waist. This size is what I think most guys would be comfortable wearing out in public.
One thing I am not sure about is the price. Their site didn’t change prices after converting to English. Bruno Mens Wear is in Mexico, so I don’t think the price is $400. Their gear is always fun and well thought out. They have one of the most innovative design styles on the market today.
If you want something a little more subdued, there are plenty more swimwear in the Attitude collection. Just note that this line is a limited edition line. Once they are gone, they are GONE. If you want a pair get it now and don’t wait. You don’t want to come back in a few weeks and go “I should have gotten that pair!”
Sometimes you need something classic. Like a black brief. I think this a black brief is something every guy should own. Mundo Unico is a brand that is well made and fits great. It’s classic but definitely not boring.
I am gearing up, no pun intended, for a trip to Vegas for the site and for some relaxation. It got me thinking this morning about packing for the trip. I was going through all the stuff I need, then that internal voice said: “How much underwear do we need to take?” I stopped and thought, well a good bit! Not that I change several times a day but I like to have options.
When going on a trip I have gotten really good at packing just enough. I used to be a major over packer. I had clothes for 2-3 weeks for a 4-day trip. Now, I have it down to a science. I usually have just enough clothes plus a change in case something happens. As for underwear…that’s an entirely different story.
I pack enough underwear for the days I will be gone. Then while I”m still packing I see other pairs I love and say “oh let’s put those in too, oh yeah, these as well.” Till I have prob 12 pairs of underwear for a 4-day trip. You maybe asking, do I wear all these undies? Nope, I don’t, I just like having the options for something to wear.
One thing I try to do as well is match my undies for the climate I am going too. For instance, Vegas is super hot this time of year so I will pack a lot of modal and other light pairs to wear during the day. It makes the day much better when you can stay cool
Depending on the trip, sometimes I come home with even more underwear. If I find a deal I will buy up some pairs I like. I haven’t become the world traveler yet to start buying pairs in each country I visit to remember the trip. Soon I hope! But luckily I don’t buy too many on vacation.
I”m curious how you guys pack for trips. Do you over pack underwear as well? Does your wife/husband/girl friend/boyfriend give you grief about it or do they encourage it? Or do you have underwear you consider vacation underwear? Lastly, do you match to meet the climate you are in?
Roman photographer Simone Arrighi (www.simonearrighi.com) captured Brazilian dancer Antonio Tavares in colorful swimwear from latest summer collection by WAPO Wear (www.wapowear.com).
Vibrant colors mixed with effective prints and patterns are in sensual contrast with Antonios caramel velvet skin. All swimwear is available on www.wapowear.com with more than 50 other designs.
Are you a fan of singlets? Have you tried Go Softwear’s singlets? They always have a few different ones. The one in the picture is from the Hard Core line but they also have more traditional ones.
When you think fetishewear you think of rubber or leather looking gear. Or it could be super skimpy underwear in lace. We each have a different vision of fetishwear. One thing in the fetish world that seems so have taken off lately are harnesses. When I think about a harness, it brings images of a leather store and getting fit in the gear. Not something that you easily buy off the rack. Also, you think of a certain guy in a harness, the uber masculine daddy type.
Well that image is no more. There are a ton of underwear companies coming out with harnesses. They are much cheaper than the leather ones and come in many more styles. When these items came out I didn’t think they would catch onto a wider audience. They were kind of novel and seemed interesting that underwear companies would produce them.
Now, there are more underwear companies making them. I think SlickitUp was the first to really embrace the harness. Then companies like 4Hunks Gear, Andrew Christian, Marco Marco and more started to put them out. It made me take notice.
The gay world is quite familiar with harnesses. Speaking from my own experience I have had a few over the years. These new ones really interest me. First, I like these because they don’t need to be sized. They are made out of elastic and can fit various sizes. Next, the the designs are pretty cool. You can do more with elastic and spandex over leather. It can get into shapes that leather can’t do! Lastly, it’s good for guys to step outside of their comfort zone and have fun.
My one question was would the straight audience catch on to the harness. I’m not talking about the kink couples but mainstream couples. Many guys still have issues wearing “fun” pairs to bed, I don’t know how a guy coming to bed in a jock and harness would go over. I’m curious as to what you straight guys think of harnesses. Are they something you would wear or something you don’t get.

If you would have told me in 2008, when I started UNB, that thongs would be popular in 2017. I would have thought, nice to see the market move back to skimpy gear! However, if you said many of the thong lovers would be straight boys, I would have said you were crazy. That is the situation today, more guys on both sides of the sexual spectrum are rocking the thongs.
One brand that spans the sexual orientation divide is BodyAware. They make great undies that we are personally loving. The pair we think you will like is the Bodycon thong. First, this pair is made with a 3D pouch. Meaning that the pouch “allows everything to be gently pushed to the forefront.” Like most of our readers, a pouch is something super important to me. This pair has a great pouch. I haven’t tried this pair but it looks similar to the “Well endowed brief” from a few years ago.
Next, is the design. It has a traditional cut but with a Brazilian back. In a brief/bikini I am not a fan but this with the little bit of a wider back. Which, I think really fits this pair really well. Mix that with the red seam in the back and I love it. It’s one I may have to try sooner or later.
The fabric of this pair is Luxurious tactel fabric, 85% nylon, 15% spandex. BodyAware really uses awesome fabrics in their underwear. You will feel super sexy and be 100% comfortable. The thong comes in four colors as well. The colors are White, Black, blue and nude.
The last thing about this pair is the price. It retails for $19.99, which isn’t bad for a pair of underwear. BodyAware makes awesome undies at a great price. They have never been super expensive. They are affordable for most underwear lovers. If you like the look of the Bodycon thong, head over to BodyAware and get it!

If you have been around UNB since 2011 you may recognize this shoot from McKillop Underwear. It was a series that was popular on UNB. I think I ran them a few times. The jock may be gone but MCK still makes great undies.

Check out these steamy pics of model Rudy Bundini shot by Ted Sun sporting the Garçon Model Watson briefs. Check out Garçon Model and all their awesome undies.

Andrew Christian furnished the Almost Naked Retro Brief. for review. All opinions expressed are that of the reviewer.
Rating: 9/10 (Average of the ratings below)
- Daily Fit: 9/10
- Sizing: 9/10
- Construction: 9/10
- Styling: 9/10
- Daily Performance: 9/10
Pros:
- Amazing Almost naked pouch
- Innovative design that has a retro feel
- Good fabric to wear on active days
Cons:
- Some guys may not like the retro design
- The pouch design may scare some guys
UNB Tim recommendation: If you’re looking for an innovative design and a retro style than this pair is for you. Also, if the pouch is one of the most important things these will fit you and give you some awesome support.
The pair I am reviewing is the Andrew Christian Almost Naked Retro Brief. The Almost Naked is one of my favorite lines in the AC line up. The pouch is the best pouch that AC makes. Well, that is my opinion! There are other pouches like the Trophy Boy, but this one rocks it for me.
The first thing I noticed was the design. I had to double check it wasn’t a Show-It pair. Personally speaking, I am not a big fan of that technology. Not because I don’t think it’s good but it’s just not for me. I say this because the pouch had a section that looked like you put your junk through it. Upon further inspection, the front has a fly like look. It’s open around the sides but it’s not a traditional fly. I had my hesitations but gave this pair a chance.
I wore this to work. At work, some days are more active than others. Climbing up and down stairs, sitting for extended period of time and it’s a mix of office and warehouse at times. The pair really held up great. The pouch didn’t rub me the wrong way at all. In fact, I didn’t notice it throughout the day. The almost naked pouch performed as I expected.
The fabric was pretty soft and fit me well. The construction of AC undies for me has been pretty good. I have never had a pair give me issues on a review. As I said above the design is pretty cool and different from what I am used to with AC Almost Naked line.
The sizing or AC is spot on. If you follow the size chart you should have no issues. I’m on the larger end of the spectrum and the XL fits me well. I think I’m beyond the upper limit and it still fits me pretty well. As always if you’re on the boarder of a size go larger. You will thank me later.
Overall, this new pouch design impressed me with the Almost Naked Retro Brief. I had my hesitations about the design. It gave me more than enough support through out the day. If you need a great pouch and design you need to check this pair out.

Patterns are making a come back in a big way this year. Countless designers, big and small, are choosing some amazing patterns for their lines this year. Why? Well, patterns are fun. They can bring a sense of whimsy or a pop of color to our wardrobe, even if no one else knows what we are wearing. It can make us feel like a kid again. It is something different from the usual, sometimes boring, drab colors that grace much of men’s underwear.
I’m not really here to talk about why patterns are back though. I’m more interested in why patterns don’t always get made. What makes them tick. What makes patterns wonderful and a pain in the behind. I’m no expert on making underwear but here are a few of the reasons I’ve come up with as to why patterns aren’t especially super common among upscale men’s underwear designers.
First off is the look of patterns themselves. I don’t know about you, but I loved the days when I had cartoon characters on my underwear. Eventually, we grow up and have to move on to less colorful pairs. There is also the mainstream boxer fad of patterned boxers, but that faded quickly and now seems to be pretty much universally ridiculed by all. Mass market brands do have some slight patterns on pairs occasionally, but mostly in the mainstream patterns on your underwear are a girl thing. Patterns just have the stigma of being childish sometimes. Just look at the iconic marketing done by Calvin Klien: plain white, nothing else. Even more modern looks have only really just changed the ideal pair color to black. While mass market may put some simplistic patterns on their pairs, it is nothing like what the upscale brands do. Among the countless upscale brands, you can find all sorts of patterns. From classics to crazy, there pretty much is a pattern for everyone these days.
Another reason why patterns are uncommon is that they are probably more expensive to make than their simply-colored brethren. I’m not an underwear manufacturer, but I’m guessing that brands probably have to buy the colors for their pairs. So with patterns, instead of simply licensing the dye for one or two colors, you have to go out and find the perfect pattern, which might be hard to find and expensive to license. You could also make it yourself, but that would require hiring a graphic designer, another expense that I’m sure many small underwear makers might not have the budget for.
Lastly, not everyone is a patterns type of person. Many guys like the clean look of mono-colored pairs, or are extremely particular to only certain patterns, like tartans, etc. This can have the opposite effect as well, as I know some guys will buy practically anything with leopard print on it. The economics of it though, having to balance out knowing that some of your audience may not buy these pairs makes a designer really have to know their audience, otherwise they might end up with a big loss, another thing that a small company cannot handle very well.
In the end, my basic opinion is that patterned pairs can be a risky proposition, but if done well and marketed to the right people, can be a big seller. The market can also swing in this opinion, as underwear ads from the 70s clearly show. Perhaps this is what’s happening today? While I am not a huge patterned underwear guy, there are some patterned pairs that I love dearly. I will say though, in addition, this lack of patterns is nowhere near the case when it comes to men’s swimwear. You can find plenty of flashy and outrageous patterns in that market very consistently. I wouldn’t be surprised that some of the patterned underwear craze going on right now stems from the swimwear market. What are your favorite patterned pairs?Lets us know in the comments below or on twitter.

The re-worked patterns appear to have undergone some careful thought and consideration too. Keeping their signature, bum-curve enhancing back seam to most of their designs, it appears as though the new style of underwear looks like this:
Briefs
Low-rise but still sculpted for the male form, our Signature Briefs have undergone the 2017 facelift and had some work done. We altered our leg binding to reduce irritation as well as give an opportunity for accenting on some styles. Our new Briefs are designed to be a snug-hip-fit and to give plenty of “room for manoeuvre” in the pouch area while being slimmer at the sides but fuller round the buttocks. Single layer pouch fronted, these brief styles come decorated with a top and bottom cover to reduce irritation and add styling.
Hipster
Low-rise but still sculpted for the male form, our Signature Hipsters have undergone the 2017 facelift and had some work done. With a cheeky-wink we know you all noticed the extra inch we slipped you on the leg binding. This is designed to reduce rolling and riding as well as give an opportunity for accenting on some styles. Our new Hipsters are designed to be a snug-hip-fit and to give plenty of “room for manoeuvre” in the pouch area. Single layer pouch fronted, these boxer styles come decorated with a top and bottom cover to reduce irritation and add styling.
Jock
Low-rise but still sculpted for the male form, our Signature Jock Strap has undergone the 2017 facelift and had some work done. With a little tweak, we altered our binding to be more comfortable and to make the Jock altogether more streamlined. It’s also given an opportunity for accenting on some styles. Our new Jocks are designed to be a snug-hip-fit and to give plenty of “room for manoeuvre” in the pouch area which should cup nicely round your sack of goods. Single layer pouch fronted, these thong styles come decorated with a top and bottom cover to reduce irritation and add styling, while the straps should give all the lift you need round those peachy cheeks.
Thong
Low-rise but still sculpted for the male form, our Signature Thongs have undergone the 2017 facelift and had some work done. With a little tweak, we altered our binding to be more comfortable and to make the Thong altogether more streamlined. It’s also given an opportunity for accenting on some styles. Our new Thongs are designed to be a snug-hip-fit and to give plenty of “room for manoeuvre” in the pouch area which should cup nicely round your sack of goods. Single layer pouch fronted, these thong styles come decorated with a top and bottom cover to reduce irritation and add styling.

Hey Lumberjacks, match your undies to your plaid shirt! Even if you aren’t a lumberjack, but a fan of plaid then aussieBum has brought back for a limited time the underwear line Clan. It features three plaid colors in two styles. You can pick either a brief or hipster. They call the colors vibrant though to me they look kind of faded. Guess I think of richer, darker colors when I think of plaids. The plaid prints were inspired by the traditional tartan heritage prints.
The three colors aussieBum is offering in the print are Argyll, Arran, and Skye. Argyll’s palette is of oranges and yellows with some reddish or pink in it. Arran’s pattern is of white, black, red, and some orange. Then Skye is shades of blue with white and black. All three colors in both styles have a white waistband with aussieBum on it in red. Also, both styles and all colors have white piping around the leg openings.
The underwear fabric is made out of 92% polyester and 8% elastane. They are proudly made in Australia. You can machine wash them cold, but do not throw them in the dryer. They recommend to line dry them in the shade. If you don’t like to use a drying rank then you may want to pass on these.
Don’t miss out on the Clan line, since they just brought them back for a limited time. It’s not too often you see underwear in a plaid print expect maybe boxers and low-quality department store undies. Not a pattern I have in my drawer. Now if they offered them in a bikini or a thong I’d be game for them. If you like hipsters or briefs then get them before it is too late. Hard to say when or if aussieBum will bring them back again.
BRAND: aussieBum
PAIR: Clan
NEW COLORS: Argyll, Arran, Skye
FABRIC: 92% Polyester 8% Elastane
SIZES: S – XL
COST: Brief – $21.50; Hipster – $23.25
