We finally wrap up the UNB Survey results. I love doing these and we will have several smaller polls this year but not till next May will we have a full blown reader survey. These last results feature more about real guys on the site.

This is one that we have always asked. We are trying to get more real guys on the site. It’s not easy to find regular guys to strip down in their undies. But we are always working on it. Our new influencer series focuses on real guys and their love of undies. We always try to do a series of pics. The guys range from muscle guys to bears.

Ok guys, we need you go submit your own pics. only 26% are willing to send in pics. We need your help to have real guys on the site.

This is great info for me. You guys prefer a mix of video and regular reviews. This is great because video reviews take longer to do than written. But we will keep up doing both!

I hope we can make this happen this year or early next year. I won’t share what we are planning but I am working on some cool things. It’s not easy but I think you guys will love it.

What challenges do guys face loving undies. Being a single guy and running a website gets me either a strange look or a ‘that’s awesome” response on dates. Then there are some who are like “oh you have a little blog,” and then they look at it and see that I put a lot of damn work into this for 11 years.

I love doing it, but like most things it has it’s ups and downs. Have I thought of ending it all? sure have! Would I ever do it? NO WAY. The positives out weigh the negatives by a large margin. So if you want to write, hit me up we need writers BAD.

The biggest challenge you guys face is: There are no challenges! Which is a good thing. Congrats if you are one of those guys. Most though feel acceptance by society is a big challenge. That I would agree. You can’t objectify men in our society, but you can women. This is evident on social media platforms. We have basically given up on Facebook, I should create “Facebook friendly graphics” now that I have time.

The next biggest challenge is being labeled as gay. I mean, just because you love underwear doesn’t mean you are gay. And pairs of underwear are not gay, nor are swim briefs. If those people saying that ever tried good undies, they would see how amazing it is.

This chart makes me very happy. There is nothing worse than having a partner who doesn’t get the underwear thing and who is negative about it. I know many readers out there have an amazing partner who supports them and even encourages them. I”m glad so small of you guys have to hide it from your partners. The world is definitely changing.

Does your partner think your underwear buying is excessive. Under 25% say yes. I would def be in that section if I had a partner. But for the most part your partners don’t hate your underwear buying. If you buy every so often you prob are in the clear, but if you buy weekly I could see how it could be an issue.

I will admit I love me some fetishwear. It’s been one of my gear choices for several years. So, when the up tick in guys wanting sexy gear started to happen, I was super excited. My personal favorite is spandex (singlets), leather and such. I think you gotta have fun!

Other guys filled out their favorite gear as you can see above. I was surprised that lace is in the top 5. I think it’s super sexy and glad you guys do too.

If I had to pick a second favorite behind undies it would be spandex. I used to have a ton of spandex back in the day. So 46% of you guys love it as well. I think this will grow as spandex gear comes back in fashion.

I”m always curious if we should cover more hard core gear. I know we have a big group not into it. 33% said we shouldn’t do more with leather. I’m still not sold on doing it on a regular basis but I think it does have a place on the blog. May be not super hard core but something fun.

Lastly, where do you buy your gear? Almost half buy it online at a regular underwear store. Brands like Go Softwear, Gregg Homme, ManStore and more are being sold at regular stores. Then 38% buy at a fetish site like Fort Troff, Mr. S or other retailers. Only a few actually buy in person. I would suggest if you are getting leather, go get it in person and get fit properly.

Gymwear is something you guys want us to cover more! This is a good thing and something we are listening to you guys! We have done some coverage but not a great deal. I think in our second decade we need to branch out a little more in our coverage.

Most of you guys wear gym shorts to the gym. While 14% do wear spandex runners/tights. This is good to see! There is a growing trend of spandex coming back to the gym for guys. More guys are getting comfortable wearing them.

The majority of you wear your runners without anything over them. I know some guys don’t feel comfortable to wear them without something over them. But you can wear something under them. We suggest a thong if you need extra support .

Almost 50% of you guys said you wanted to see more gym wear reviews. A other 1/3 said maybe. So this is a pretty strong number that we need to start including these in the UNB line up.

I think swimwear and underwear go hand in hand. I started my love of undies wearing bikinis and that moved into swim briefs as well. I think we all want to feel just as sexy at the beach/pool as we do in our undies.

However, that said we still have a long way to go to get more guys in to swim briefs and swim thongs. Here are some results of the Reader survey:

This number really surprises me in a good way. You guys have worn them in public and on the beach. The first time you rock a swim brief can be nervous as hell. I remember my first time. Taking off the shorts and relaxing in skin tight swim brief can be amazing.

Each year more and more guys wear the swim thong. It amazes me the number of guys who have skipped over the brief and gone straight to the thong. A lot of these guys are our straight readers. I have seen a growing trend in the swim wear industry to make more thongs. Plus when I look at our Twitter/IG feeds we see may of our readers/friends wearing them all over!

We have most of you guys wearing swim trunks and briefs. Which are a great thing. Luckily the board shorts are on the decline. I think the main factor in wearing swim briefs is a place you feel safe wearing them. Not a place where you will be called a names or gay. It does happen.

Sixfootfiveguy has been a pioneer in the men’s thong. He was one of the first guys I saw posting pics and wearing them out on the beach. He has since gotten friends to join in in thongs and made them his go to swimwear. Follow him on Twitter to see more.

Who influences your underwear buying? It’s always interesting to see who or what influences your underwear buying. This year here are the choices on the survey.

1. The top way you guys get influenced is by Brand emails.
2. News write-ups are the second most popular way you guys get influenced to buy.
3. Is your significant other is the third popular way.
4. Last is the least influencer is friends. This one shocked me!

I think next year we are going to make this an open ended question. These aren’t the best ones to judge what influences your decision making process. None of these are of the “a lot” category.

One thing for sure we know is that we influence your buying decisions. I love sharing new brands with you guys. Some of them I find on social media and other brands email us. One brand that is amazing, that we pointed out to you guys is SkinFit. They make amazing spandex gear.

We all love undies but there are some things that drive us all crazy! There are issues that can take a great pair of undies and ruin the experience. So what are those things that ruin a pair?

1. Sizing Issues – This is always high on the list. Every brand has it’s own sizing. This depends on where the brand is located. The US is where most people who read UNB are located and we have the “standard” sizing where medium is a 32 waist. In places like Brazil, Columbia, and Japan will run small.
2. Labels or Tags – This one comes and goes from the list. This year it’s in second place. I have had several pairs that are perfect except for the tag. Nothing ruins a pair like an itchy or scratchy tag.
3. Pouch too Small – If you are a guy with this problem, the struggle is real. I have tried several brands that come as a disappointment. You fall out or get squished. If you have this issue you ca also pick up a pair and go “Um no way.” Pouches are supper important to most guys!
4. Riding up – I don’t think we cover many brands with this issue. I rarely have an issue of review pairs riding up. It’s usually bargain brands that have this issue or boxer briefs. But when I have had this issue I’d rather go commando than wear bad undies.
5. Pricing – Underwear can be expensive. I know we all have brands we pay full price for no matter what they sell. But, when trying a new brand or style, we wan’t to get the best deal. But, remember quality doesn’t always come cheap.

So what do you guys love to wear? Is it thongs? Bikinis? Briefs? Trunks? Well, we have the results on what you guys love to wear on a daily basis and overall. We all have our favorites but we seem to branch out to other styles.

These should come as no suprrise to most readers. Briefs/bikinis have been favorites of most readers of the blog. WHile the general public was still stuck on Boxer briefs, we had moved back to the brief and even more are embracing the bikini.

Over the last few years, the growth of the thong has been incredible. It came out of the blue and has remained strong. In fact most of the straight reader preer them over all other pairs. Well, the ones we had here at UNB and some of the ones I talk to on a reg basis.

When we break down the numbers of what you guys love to wear. The thong has the highest “never wear.’ It’s an acquired taste. The biggest often and always wear are the brief and bikini. The big spike in the middle of jocks, that peope sometimes wear them is pretty aewsome.
