We all believe that underwear should be fun. If you read this blog have discovered the joys of underwear and will never go back to buying it at Wal-Mart in packages of six. The underwear you wear now is a brand name, one pair costs more then those six packs and you believe in quality over quantity. With that said, have you noticed a trend in the world of men’s underwear of more “fetish” underwear?
I’m not talking thongs or jock briefs. I’m talking underwear that is made to look like rubber, wilder cuts and barely there undies. It’s a trend we are seeing more and more. This is not limited to just the gay guys even straight guys are venturing into the fetish world. I think this is because guys want to feel sexy and don’t want the women to have all the fun in underwear. Guys want to show the wilder side of their personality. We have heard from guys in the past telling us what they wear under suits. Underwear is the one area you don’t have to be conservative; you can be as wild as you want.
We are going to start a series of profiles on companies in the fetish wear that we think you should check out. However, in this one we are going to profile a few pairs we think you should check out.
K’mando pouch – We had a review on this a few years ago and it’s been one of our more popular post of all time. As you can see by the picture it’s just a pouch that covers your goods. Would you even classify this as underwear? Since it covers the goods we do! The pouch comes in a few colors and is supposed to fit any size guy. It’s not widely available but check the K’mando site for retail locations.
Modus Videndi Latex Bottmless Boxer – Modus Vivendi is one of those companies where what do you pick for a fetish post? They do have fun designing underwear and have a lot of fetish inspired pairs. However, this boxer is part of the new Fisherman line that is all latex inspirited line. The boxer has the back cut out, jock boxers are a whole new trend, and made in the Modus Vivendi silhouette with a drawstring waist. Modus Vivendi has so many fetish inspired styles that you should go check out the site for all of them.
Gregg Homme Haze Single Brief – Gregg Homme, like Modus Vivendi, is one of those that does a lot of fetish inspired pairs. I have always said that Gregg Homme does fetish/sexy undies where you get the best of both worlds, a sexy pair of undies and an amazing fit. Every pair of Gregg Homme I have owned has fit amazingly. The new line is out tomorrow there are some fun things coming but the Haze Single Brief is one that has the look of Latex/leather but easier to care for, because if you get a pair made out of either you know it’s not easy to wash. This pair has a buckle and key hole above the pouch. It’ sexy and fun, but check out the entire Haze line, they even had a matching tank.
Slick It Up Cobra – If you aren’t familiar with Slick It Up, they are a fetish gear company. They make underwear, swim, spandex gear. The pair that has been getting attention lately is the Cobra. As you see in the picture it’s a pouch and a strap on the right side, not much more to it. This pair leaves little to the imagination. The Cobra is made out of black latex snake skin spandex print. Oh and we know what you are asking and here is what their site say “”Perfectly well!”- Thats the answer to the question you just asked of “But how does it stay on?!” It actually stays there perfectly fine hugging your junk comfortably,”
These are only a few pairs we have seen. Do you have a favorite fetish pair or company? Let us know we are going to profile some of these companies in this latest trend in men’s underwear!
Are you a fan of the Brief Distractions we do here? Then you should check out the UNB Photography site. We have created a site to let you guys get to know the people behind the pics. Those people include the models, photographers and brands that make the amazing pictures you see. We profile more pics then we do here and some a little wilder we don’t or can’t publish here! We will have some model and photog interviews soon! The pic above is the Timoteo Rugby line as shot by Tom Cullis. The site address is http://www.unb-photography.com
Today’s Brief Distraction is one from Quarter Homme. This is their latest release, the Tease Hipster. Available in Blue, Red (as shown) and Yellow. We named them underwear of the week last month for their Homme Hipster.
Today, I am happily reviewing my first Candyman brand undies; the “Boxer 99004”. I’ve been hoping to review Candyman for a while cause I’ve wanted to know if their quality matches their creativity. I received the sexy fire engine red pair in the mail last week, and definitely had a fun first impression. When I opened the bag at first, I didn’t actually know whether my manly bits were going to actually be visible or not, there was so much mesh netting. Not that I’m against wearing translucent front pouch underwear, but I truly didn’t get it at first. Once completely unfolded though, a pair of quite sassy underwear came into my view. The pair I got to review is a new pair by Candyman, with a front pouch in opaque black, that is set into a fire engine red panel of fabric (you can also get this boxer in a Royal Blue, and a Gunmetal Grey). However, the panel of red ends not soon after as black netting swoops in front of your hips and continues onto the entire back of the underwear, leaving your rear very visible. The boxer is a 93% polyester 7% spandex blend fabric, with a separate pouch cut and a back center seam to contour for the butt. The boxer is a longer cut than you might be used to, I would probably use the term “sport boxer” for the leg length. The black pouch looks to be a fairly standard boxer brief pouch. My worry was about the netting, cause being a seamster myself, I know that some netting just doesn’t have a good amount of stretch to it, so putting the pair on could get awkward. I’ll fill you more in later, but the netting was NOT a bad fabric.
While wearing the pair, I didn’t do too much, but I did run around to do some errands, and felt very comfortable. I wouldn’t wear this to the gym for reasons I’ll talk about later. It is a very nice loungy “bedroom” pair. I could definitely wear this on a date I think was gonna get spicy later…ya know.
I found the sizing on this to be fine. I got a Large size which according to the Candyman size chart is for a 32-34”. I usually buy whatever size a 34” falls under, and I must say, judging by the fact that I’m the higher end of the L range, I could probably wear a medium. Having said that, I am not ready to say Candyman runs large, because I think a lot of the elasticity of this pair is due to the majority of it being made out of a very flexible net. I would say for this pair, definitely you could go a lower size, but I cannot test that fact on all of Candyman until I try other pairs out.
I really like the look of this pair. I mean, I like my butt, people who get to see it do too. I think visually, it’s a really interesting idea, because the front is almost “tame” if I can say that, and then the back is just BAM! My issues are with the wearability of the garment, rather than the aesthetics. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the whole anatomical underwear revolution, but I’ve never been too fond of boxer briefs that have a pouch that doesn’t actually hug the genitals. What I mean is, my favorite boxer briefs are when the fabric on the outside of the pouch is snug enough that your package stays in the pouch, instead of having things run around elsewhere. The pouch on this pair doesn’t really hold my stuff in place. Because of the netting being so flexible instead of having tension, there’s not too much support UNDER the genitals, so it’s fairly open down there letting some things wander down below the pouch. I think an entirely net back is a bold idea, and it’s a very sexy idea to pull off, but my biggest issues is that the sheer area the net covers takes out a lot of the structure that would be there if a more sturdy material were covering the same area. I must say though, this did help me recover from a fear of mesh in underwear. I bought a pair of underwear made all out of mesh from an underwear company I love, and I couldn’t even get it up my thighs. I returned it for a larger size, and couldn’t get that over my butt, it was the LEAST stretchy mesh I’d ever seen, and I think the pair would have only worked on some twinky butt that doesn’t curve as much. Getting this pair did restore my ideas about using mesh in underwear.

Today’s Brief Distraction features the new 2(X)ist Sail line. This is one of the newest lines that they have released. The pair showing is the Contour Brief. We reported on this in our Magic Coverage! So check out the line
If you love 2EROS then you need to check out the SupaWear line. It’s a brand made by the great minds behind 2EROS. 2EROS is well known for their great materials, styles and construction. This is carried over to SupaWear but at a lower cost. You may think that a lower cost results in lower quality but you would be wrong! The SupaWear line is very well made and super comfortable.
The new Supa-Fly line comes in three different styles. Those styles are a trunk, brief and jock. The color range in this line is a lot of fun. Supawear could have gone with traditional colors but they stepped outside the traditional box and made some really fun color combinations. The colors are Berries (purple), Blood Orange (a red), Forrest (green), Lemonade (yellow with a blue waistband), Sun (Yellow with a red waistband) and Sky (light blue). Note that not all colors are in each style. For instance the Sun is just in the brief. 2EROS is known to do this and not offer every color so it’s great to see this carried over to SupaWear.
The other feature I love is the new waistband. The band is made in a contrasting color from the main body. It has the SupaWear logo in the center with wings coming out from each side. For a less expensive pair of undies you wouldn’t think of having such a great looking waistband. Its often the one area that is over looked. However, Supawear didn’t over look the waistband and made it an integral part of the design.
Here is how SupaWear describes them: “The SUPA-FLY collection is deliciously designed for a fun day in your underwear. Take flight in our selection of juicy colours, featuring shiny wings on the waistband and contrast pouch ribbings.” It def lives up to this description.
Check them out at http://www.supawear.com for this and more styles

Today’s Brief Distraction is another great pic from Eric Battershell fitography. This time Michael Rocco is wearing the Modus Vivendi TNT Boxer in red. We hope you have enjoyed this series we commissioned.
The pair I am reviewing today is the Candyman 99002 Silver Boxer and there is no other way for me to describe this boxer than fun. Candyman not only produces great underwear like the 9674 Boxer that I reviewed at the beginning of the year, but they also specialize in “Costume” underwear. The Costume Collection ranges from an orange prison outfit singlet (complete with handcuffs) to a fringed cowboy themed boxer.
While the silver boxer is not categorized as part of the costume collection I think it would fall into it because it isn’t really an everyday underwear but sure is fun looking. This pair is metallic silver with a black net/mesh fabric over the pouch and two rear zippers. The zippers don’t serve much of a practical role, as a matter of fact if you unzip them the back panel will fall off, but they definitely add a unique/fresh look to the pair.
I wore this pair this weekend while running some errands and met my friends for lunch. With a 93% polyester, 7% elastic mix, the fit is snug yet stretchy, however, like most polyester it doesn’t breathe like other materials. Because of the snug stretch, I had no actual issues with the legs riding up while wearing this pair. However, if you happen to be lounging in a chair however and leaning to one side, you will definitely feel the seams created by the hard plastic zippers. As I mentioned earlier, this is not an “everyday” pair of underwear but for more “special occasions.”
Now, it’s time to talk about sizing. As spring has just sprung, I am dealing with a little winter weight and am between a 36-38 right now but find that I can easily also go between a large or extra large depending on the brand. My previous Candyman review was on an XL pair which we very comfortable. The 99002 that I reviewed however was a large pair and while the material does have a nice stretch, it was less forgiving than the previous pair that I reviewed. So if you are like me and you are in between sizes, definitely opt for an XL.
One of the areas that I feel could be improved was the zippers. There is no fabric guard between the zipper and your skin; and though I don’t think you’ll be using the zippers often, it is possible that you could catch you skin or hair easily. Also, and there is the easy solution of simply cutting it out, the tag is placed inconveniently in the seam of the pouch.
I would not recommend this underwear for everyday wear but I do not believe that was the intent of Candyman when they created this pair. If you are looking for a great unique pair of boxers for the club or a seaside patio party, these might just be the pair for you.
Pros:
- Fun and unique style
- Metallic
- Black net pouch
- Zippers
- Elastic provides a great stretch to the boxer
Cons:
- Polyester does not breathe
- No zipper guard
- Inside tag in the pouch
Ratings:
- Fit – A
- Sizing – B
- Construction/Materials – B-
- Styling – A
- Performance – C-
- Overall – B

Believe it or not I have never had a pair of Candyman Underwear. I hear you saying “NO WAY” but I could never fit in them before this year. Candyman is known for making very sexy, fun and erotic underwear. This is not the undies you wear to the gym or maybe even every day. But for a date night they would be amazingly fun to wear. The pair I have to review is the Candyman 9695 Brief. The brief is white with a gold waistband and a kind of lace up back.
I decided to take a chance and wear it to work. How many times have we all bought “date night” underwear and they last about 2-3 hours before its time they come off one way or another. My initial impressions were I may not like this pair. But, I was keeping an open mind. I usually like pairs with a more defined pouch and hoped it wouldn’t bind as the day went on. Also the back is a lace up and open and that gave me other room to worry. As the day wore on the material, 93% Polyester, 7% Spandex, held up pretty well. I wish it breathed more through the day but it really didn’t bother me too bad. After I put them on and my jeans over I forgot I was wearing a more “erotic” pair of undies. Granted that said I wouldn’t wear them to the gym or do anything super active, but for every day wear or lounging they would be fine.
Sizing was pretty good. If you follow their sizing chart you should be fine. Note that the XL isn’t a 38 or 40 but size 36. So this is smaller then American sizes we are used too. So make sure you follow the sizing guide, if you don’t you maybe sorry. The XL fit me pretty well for a 36 waist.
Overall I liked the pair and will definitely wear it again. I loved the gold waistband and thought it set the pair off nicely. There is a big trend in men’s underwear to bring in metallic accents. The lace up back I thought would just drive me insane through out the day really wasn’t noticeable. I will say it surprised me and became one of my favorite features. My biggest complaint is I wish the material were a little more breathable. If you are super active this will not be something you will like.
I will say I’m enjoying trying different undies now that I can fit in them. Candyman will be on my list and this will be the first of many pairs I plan to own from them. I mean it bites when you can’t wear undies you want to try. Candyman just has fun with undies and it shows in their designs.
Pros:
- Metallic accents
- Lace up back
- Just a fun design
Cons
- Not a breathable material
- No defined pouch
Ratings:
- Daily Fit – B+
- Sizing – B+
- Construction – A-
- Styling – A

Today’s Brief Distraction is another featuring model Justin Coale. We will be seeing a lot more of him coming up. We hope to be working with him soon as well!
I’m reviewing Candayman futuristic zipper brief. It’s a black and metallic silver and blue color block brief with a zipper opening on the left Title: Review – Candyman 9696 Futuristic Zipper Brieffront. The label says it’s made from 97% polyester and 3% lycra. Despite metallic appearance, all parts of it have the stretch due to the lycra. This brief is available in three different metallic colors and retails for $25.
Just out of the package, it looks like a fun, flirty brief suitable for undressing after a date—but maybe not the best for a workout. I have several pair of underwear made by Candyman that I love, due to their tongue and cheek approach to underwear, and that often allow tantalizing peaks of skin to show, as this one does.
I usually like to put review underwear through their paces by wearing all day at work, and then to a workout. However, given the polyester material (which I doubted would breathe well) and flirty style, I thought this would be more appropriate for a date (and then I could get my date’s reaction as well). So I put them on in the morning before work and planned to wear them all day through my dinner date that night.
I put them on first thing in the morning. They seemed to fit to size, although with my big butt, I was sticking out a bit at the top (see pics). I went off to my office for work. Things went well for the morning, but I could feel them not breathing well by lunchtime. I’m glad I did not wear them to the gym, as they began to irritate my skin the longer the day went on. By the time I got home, I was ready to take them off, take and shower and change. Unfortunately, my date never got to see them on me, (but he liked the way they looked on the floor).
Candyman does have a good feel for American sizing. I wore a medium and it fit my waist well. There was ample room up front for the plumbing. I could have used a little more material in the back, but if this underwear is more appropriate for a date, perhaps you might want to be cracking out a bit. With the zipper undone, there is a nice peek-a-boo of flesh and this gives you a bit more breathing space in the back. I do wish the zipper was on both sides, as this would give you a bit more flexibility.
I like the cheeky style of Candyman, and this Zipper brief does not disappoint on that front. The flexible metal look is sleek and modern (I can see it going with a sexy Tin Man costume next Halloween), and the peek a boo zipper is neat touch. Incidentally, the zipper is plastic and did not pinch my skin once despite playing with it many times while I wore it. The waist sizing was dead on, and though I could have used a bit more material in the butt area, if the goal is have someone take them off you ASAP, then that effects works.
I’m not a bit fan of this polyester blend, as it does not breathe well, and becomes sticky after a whole day. However, if you wear this just for an evening date, it would be fine. I wish they could find a way to produce the shiny fabric in a material that does not trap in moisture—that truly would be futuristic.
I like the current direction in which Candyman in going—many of their new products are wearable all day and make good additions to an underwear collection—while still maintaining their playful side. I would put the Futuristic Zipper Brief in the category of “datewear”—something to wear for less than four hours and are cute enough for your date to want to help you out of them.
Pros:
- Cheeky style
- Highlight assets well
- Sizing is accurate
Cons:
- Does not breath well after 4 hours of wearing
- Slightly skimpy in the amount of the material for the buttocks
Ratings:
- Daily Fit: 7
- Sizing: 9
- Construction/Materials: 8
- Styling: 10
- Daily Performance: 7
- Overall: 8.2/B-
