Happy Pride! This weekend is officially Pride weekend. It marks the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riots that kicked off the gay rights movement. The official date is June 28th but the last weekend in June is typically pride weekend.

After this week and the Supreme Court ruling, we need to remain vigilant about Pride. Get out and vote in November.

Fetishwear is one area of the Survey that we have cut back on and has surprised me. I thought we would have guys who loved it and wore it. Nope, it’s always been lower than I expected, so I cut all the questions other than what you like and where you wear it. I enjoy many of these things, but you guys love undies and swim way more.

This slide sums it up. Over 40% of you guys answered none. The second closest was Spandex gear below 30%. I’m debating cutting this section entirely from the 2023 survey.

Just a quick slide on where you guys buy fetishwear. Most buy online, and few go to a specialty store for the type of gear.

Now on to something incredible. 75% of you want us to show guys of all sizes. I’m working on a system to have guys submit pics and profile guys in our brief distraction with a short list of questions so you can share where you are, your social, and a brief message on what you love in undies.

You want to see real guys across just about everywhere on the site. We love that and are trying to get more guys to be on the site. It’s not been easy to recruit guys. I have been hitting guys up on social media (IG and Twitter) to come on the podcast, and it’s been hit or miss. Please reach out if you want to come on or submit a picture.

This slide! OMG, I have such big ideas for this but a minimal budget. There is a lot that could be done but hiring a photog and getting pics isn’t cheap. Plus, we want to do a real guy shoot. I am trying to find guys in ATL who want to work with us regularly but have yet to find them. We have a significant gay community and bear community, but most don’t want to do an underwear shoot.

GUYS! Almost 50% don’t want to participate in a real guy segment. I love it when regular guys come on and share. It gives other guys the courage to come forward and feel they are not alone.

I’m glad most of you follow brands on social media. I know many of you can’t due to work, but many of you have Alt accounts and share your love. See the slide below.

We bring you the next part of our reader survey results. This time it’s Gymwear! We wanted to know what you guys wear while working out. I think we see a rise in spandex and other workout wear. Here are some of the

Running is an exercise that I hate; I only run when being chased! But I wondered what you guys wear. The main article is the gym short. I’m not surprised, but it’s good to see about 25% of you wear runners (spandex) and spandex shorts!

Workout wear is changing. No longer are we wearing shorts and tees. Guys are wearing a lot more. You may not see it on this survey, but there is one thing on this slide that keys you in. Don’t change. That is singlets. It’s growing, and we have seen more IG guys working out in singlets. I”m a little disappointed that runners and spandex shorts aren’t more significant, but fingers crossed it grows. I prefer spandex when working out for the support it gives. If you are old enough to remember the 80, there was a brand that I LOVED called Hind. They had some of the thickets and most comfy spandex shorts ever. They gave me such incredible support when working out my legs.

Gym shorts reign supreme on this survey. But I am showing hope that runners and spandex shorts are gaining acceptance. Over 25% of young guys wear runners while doing cardio. Two, in cardio, it depends on what you are doing.

I asked for Cross fit because I think it’s an evil workout regime. But many guys wear it. Again we see the gym short by a WIDE margin.

I thought that yoga would see more spandex in general but nope. However, we see a rise in Yoa pants in the Track/sweat pants (I shortened the yoga pants for the slide). Ok, next year I”m asking what kind of shorts you guys wear.

Our last question is how much do you spend on gym wear. You guys spend more on gym wear than you do underwear. It’s in the $36-$50 range. Gymwear is also a lot more expensive than undies. There are higher-end brands that go for over $70 for pieces.

Gym wear let me down a little, but there’s more coming soon, including fetishwear and some more fun things.

Today in our UNB Reder Survey Results, We go over swimwear. Here I am, though; I’m in the home stretch. I had all the tabulations done (of if I did, I lost the file), and All I have to do is make the slides. NOPE, I didn’t finish things and had more tabulations. UGH, But I managed to bang out the swimwear slides to get out to you guys

What are you guys going to wear this year? The swim brief still reigns supreme. More than half of you guys plan to wear them. The surprise to me was just a little more preferred the swim shorts over the swim Trunk Thongs became a strong third with almost 25% of you guys going to suns out buns out on the beach.

Speaking of swim thongs! We asked if you have worn thongs; if you haven’t, would you wear them? Over 35%have worn the thong. Another 30% would be willing to wear thongs, and just under 30% have no desire to wear them. That makes the majority of you guys want to wear thongs.

Compare this to what you guys are wearing. Again most guys will be wearing a swim brief. But they were tied in trunks and Thongs for second place, with swim shorts coming in a close fourth—this question allowed for more than one answer per person.

We were curious how many pairs of swimwear you guys buy each year. The first thing you notice is that no one is planning to buy one pair, which is surprising. You guys buy 2-6 new pairs a year. I want to know w ho buys 11+ pairs!

Next, we asked how much you spend on swimwear. You guys spend a lot more than I do! Most of you spend $51-65 on a pair of swim. The next group is in my price range of $35-50 . Some guys splurge at 80+.

One thing to notice in these slides series is whether it’s a public or private space. If it’s more public, you guys wear more coverage, such as swim shots. You guys break out the swim briefs and thongs if it’s a private place. However, across most of these, the swim briefs are pretty strong. I think we will constantly see them grow over the next few years.

It is June, a month that gives the LGBTQ+ community the opportunity to celebrate, but also offers the possibility to peacefully protest and raise awareness of any of the current issues it faces. Gay Pride is about equality, dignity, freedom and the increased visibility of the LGBTQ+ community as a social group. Apart from that, the Pride has also taken a commercial dimension, as many companies have offered sponsorships and created products related to this event. And one of those products, which stars every year is underwear! We hope that everyone will take the opportunity to get dressed up in fashionable underwear, hit the streets and march in a few parades.
