1107-SEDUCER

Gregg Homme is known for super sexy underwear. The previous lines are a perfect example of that; Voyeur, Tease, Pimp, Xcess and more! They are all lines that convey a sexy. They range from mesh materials, cut outs, and skimpy cuts.  But, how would you like a line from Gregg Homme that encompasses the great fabrics and construction they are known for but have a more classic cut?

The new Seducer line is just that line. Its not as wild as the name suggests. It’s made out of a black 92% Cotton and 8% Elastane fabric with either red or gold accents.  The styles available are a brief, boxer, jock and Muscle shirt

The one thing I really like about this line is it’s more traditional. Gregg Homme makes really fun underwear but at times you need some more “traditional” pairs. For instance if you’re going to the gym or any other place you may have others see your underwear, well in a more public setting.

The pricing for the pairs range from $34.95 – $57.95 and are available from the Gregg Homme website.

We are back with our second review of Bunker Underwear. If you missed it check out yesterday’s  review of the TakeOut Brief. Today’s review is the Extasy Trunk. I have really high hopes for this pair. Second the pair is in my favorite color, green. Lately green is not a big color in the men’s underwear market. So when I get to find a green pair I’m ecstatic to get them.

I took these out of the package and was less worried this time about sizing. Knowing the TakeOut brief fit well I didn’t stress how they looked smaller then a 36. I put them on and the sizing was great. The one thing that worried me at first was they were cut a little higher in the back then I like. I wasn’t sure if it was going to ride up or if they would stay in place. This was my biggest concern with this pair.

I wore these to work the next day after the TakeOut briefs. I am not a very big trunk fan. Meaning trunks are not my first pair I would reach for on a daily basis. With that said I have reviewed some trunks that have been my favorite. The day at work was a little more active then the day before. The thought of them ridding up was constantly in my mind. But halfway through the day I realized that they were staying in place. Then at the end of the day they still didn’t’ ride up. Even though they were cut a little higher, they fit great.

As I mentioned above the sizing was dead on. The site lists a large as a 36-38. I am right around a 36 and they fit great. They weren’t too loose or too tight. When you take them out, they may look a little small but they don’t fit that way. The sizing is based on traditional American sizing and you should be able to get your regular size.

Some things I liked about the pair were the color, waistband and materials. The color was my favorite, it’s not often I find green undies. So when I do it makes my day! This pair is more of a darker green. Bunker calls this color Grass. The second thing I liked was the waistband. If you’re a long time reader you know my love of waistbands. This one is classic with the Bunker name offset to the right side. The last thing I like was the material. The bamboo makes it feel soft and the spandex conforms to your body. The material blend is 70% bamboo rayon 25% cotton 5% spandex jersey.

Pros:

  • Classic Waistband
  • Bamboo material blend
  • Green Color

Cons:

  • Was cut a little higher then I traditionally like

IS_glaze_burgundy_3aussieBum has released a new limited edition line of swimwear called the Glaze. This line is a line inspired by denim. Denim looking undies are starting to be a trend in the men’s underwear/swimwear world. Over the next year you will see a lot more pairs that are denim inspired. The aussieBum swimwear are one of the first to be released. It’s definitely a different look for the beach!

Unlike denim this pair is made for swim. I don’t know if you ever jumped into a pool or ocean in jeans but it’s not fun! The Glaze is made out of 72% Polyamide, 28% Elastane blend with an elastic waist and draw cord. This means that it will look like denim but not act like the cotton fabric. Also like denim you can get these in three different colors; blue, green and burgundy.

These are limited edition and will sell out fast. They retail for $46.25 at the aussieBum site.

I have heard of Bunker Underwear but have never tried them before. About two years ago they were at Magic and I spoke to them briefly but never worked with them until now.  Flash forward and I now have the TakeOut briefs to review.  The first thing that stuck me was the color, they are listed pink but more of a magenta. This may scare some but I don’t mind pink underwear and love a bit of colors, so this was actually a bonus for me. So I was looking forward to trying this pair!

I wore these to work, which wasn’t too busy of a day. The job I do is in an office so it’s not too active. I like a nice pair of briefs to really hold in everything and give great support. This pair did just that. It has the styling of a traditional pair of briefs. By this I mean it has a fly and the piping you see in tighty whities. But they don’t fit like traditional tighty whities.  The TakeOut briefs are made out of 95% cotton and 5% spandex.  The material also conformed to my body and gave me really great support.

Sizing of Bunker has the traditional sizing we expect from undies. I received a large which their sizing chart fits a 36-38’ inch waist. I am now a 36 and they fit perfect.  I was a little worried when I took them out of the package that they might run small. It was great to see that it fit perfectly.

Some things I really liked on the pair are the colors. I love it when companies take risks with colors. I know not everyone out there will wear pink undies. But the color is a lot of fun and made me smile when I received them. The fabric content was another part I liked, made out of 95% cotton and 5% spandex. Undies that have spandex give you some extra stretch to conform to your body. I really hate undies that don’t give and constrain you all day. As for things I didn’t like, none came to mind off the top of my head for this review.

This is the first of two pairs we will be reviewing the next up are Extasy Trunk. Bunker is not big name in the world of underwear yet, but if they keep making undies like this I think they will go far. They have hit all the right notes for me and I hope to see a lot more undies form them in the future!

Pros:

  • Great use of color
  • Comfortable materials blend
  • Traditional cut
  • Great price

Cons:

  • None to report

0001-c-in2_ss13_5026_code_red_f_filthy_mens_underwear_street_jock_strapI have been sick this week so finding the perfect pair for underwear of the week was a task I wasn’t looking forward too. Then out of the blue, well not really but it seems that way, C-IN2 just released their new Filthy collection. Last year we told you about this collection and now it’s back for the second iteration of the line.

The main reason this pair is our underwear of the week is each pair it totally different. You may say, but the filthy pattern is printed on the fabric so they are mass produced. You would be wrong, when in Vegas talking to C-IN2 they told me each piece was hand “filthified”, meaning the black dye on each pair is applied to each pair by hand. So no two are a like. Its really great see an underwear company take a risk and not cut corner.

Second reason is C-IN2 makes great fitting underwear. They have had some of my favorites over the years and have constantly had great fitting underwear. Their sizing is pretty consistent and you can be sure you won’t have too many issues finding the right fit.

Lastly is it’s just fun! Jocks have really come into style in the last few years and while a traditional jock has its place. Sometimes you want something different and creative. Just imagine the looks and questions you would get wearing this pair to the gym. It’s not a pair you would think of as gym wear! But as more and more guys realize that undies are an extension of their personality, we will see different undies in the locker room.

The Filthy Jock is made out of a 97 Cotton; 3 Spandex/Elastane/Lycra blend. It is also available in three colors: Code Red, Moon Indigo and Filthy White. I really love the names C-IN2 uses! This pair is available at the C-IN2 Website for $24.

Strike it rich with the new John Sievers California Gold collection! It’s available now in briefs and trunks in four classic colors: white, black, navy and steel grey. All styles are sold exclusively at International Jock, making these a truly one-of-a-kind find.

Each premium-quality style is made from ultra-soft modal fabric and features the revolutionary John Sievers “Natural Pouch.” Unlike the old-fashioned pouches on most other underwear, these innovative pouches have a special, deeply contoured shape that conforms perfectly to the male anatomy. When you pull on a pair of John Sievers underwear, your genitals hang gently and naturally in the pouch, providing a feeling so comfortable that you’ll swear that you’re not wearing anything at all. The back of the pouch softly hugs and lifts you up and forward, preventing your boys from falling between your legs and providing a natural bulge-enhancing effect.

Designed for the real male body, the California Gold collection offers masculine details and polished styling. The metallic waistband contrasts with the neutral fabric colors and creates a very visually interesting pair of underwear. With quality construction and an unrivaled fit, the John Sievers California Gold Collection will make you look and feel like a million bucks.

1100-ROCKSTAR

One thing I have learned over the years of doing this blog is our readers love fetish wear. This is regardless of sexuality, gay/straight/bi all guys love to feel sexy and have fun with undies. Fetish wear is a way for you to have fun yet not have everyone know what you enjoy. It’s a little bit of mystery that can be unveiled to someone special.

Gregg Homme has always done “traditional” underwear in their collection. However, they never neglect a new  a fetish line or two in the collection. This year one of the fetish collection sis the Rockstar. I have one thing to say about the collection, CHAPS!! This is not an “everyday” collection, this is one you should wear when you want to have fun.

The collection is made to inspire the inner Rockstar in us all. The black rubber like material, made out of 93% polyester and 7% spandex, is accented by the metal studs. This is not a line you would wear under a suit, well comfortably. It begs to be seen and shown off! This can be accomplished wearing the shirts to a bar with jeans or if you’re more daring and at the right bar the chaps or what ever they would allow!

There are two different shirts a muscle shirt (sleeveless and v-neck) and a T-shirt. As mentioned above a pair of chaps with the thong included! Lastly is the underwear with a Jock, Boxer Brief, Brief and Thong. Pricing ranges $34.99 to $102.99 Do you have what it takes to get in touch with your inner rockstar? If so head to Gregg Homme and check them out!

PT4-13-Full

In the world of underwear and swimwear, I know our readers can be quite demanding on quality. This is not a bad thing since we are in our undies for at least 14 hours a day. You guys have wanted waistband logos to line up, patterns to match and it be sewn together very well. This same quality is also carried over to the world of swimwear with the new Nautique swimwear. I say this because when I was in Vegas and met with Andrew, the owner of N2N Bodywear, he told me all about this line.

The Nautique line is one that the stripes in the front and back line up perfectly. Andrew told me that this is really hard to produce. As mentioned above you may know about having waistbands line up in the front with the logo. Imagine you have 30-40 stripes to line up, cutting the pieces and sewing them together takes planning to have it come out perfect. N2N took time producing this line so it lives up to the N2N standards.

The two styles available are the Trunk and Jammer that is striped in the front and back with a solid side. Both are made out of 83% Nylon and 17% Spandex blend and in Black, Red or Navy. The cut of the two is a lower cut with a drawstring waist. These pairs are fun and will get you noticed on the beach/pool/cruise. The Jammer retails for $40 and the Trunk is $38 on the N2N Bodywear site.

We got the chance to interview photog Tom Cullis! You may know his work from Timoteo, DNA Magazine and more. He’s done a lot of great work in the world of men’s underwear so we were thrilled that he agreed to the interview!

I have seen your work for the last few years, how did you get into Photography?

I got into photography like most people, you take a few lucky shots, you get excited, you get addicted you discover that it has become your lifestyle. I had the good fortune to assist and co shoot with a number of remarkable professional photographers over the years as well as training in college. Aside from learning a great deal from school and assisting there is no substitute for shooting every day and making mistakes to become proficient and a skilled professional.

What is your inspiration for your photography?

My career as a private practice Physical Therapist working on professional level athletes and stage performing artists was my inspiration. The aesthetic beauty of the athlete and the theatrical excitement of a stage actor was all the inspiration I needed. Watching hours of rehearsals backstage and how the theater creates emotion with stage lighting inspired much of the creative lighting I use on my shoots. All of my best teachers in photography had the same common thread of advice. He who controls the light controls the image.

You have your own style in photography (very clean and bright), did it progress naturally or did you develop it over the years?

I think that all photographers progress and adapt with time and practice. For my personal work I prefer fantasy, themes and dramatic lighting to create a story within an image. My peers have frequently said that I am more of a storyteller than a photographer and I take that as a great compliment. When a client is requesting a product shoot I try to put a story into the shoot if possible to make it more interesting to the viewer. In the case of shooting underwear, there is a significant amount of money and time involved in launching a new line and it is critical the photographer puts the product in the spotlight. I know that some ads will go for a very artistic feel or heavy shadows or props but if you cant see the label, contrast stitching, shape of the pouch, unique waist band or correct color or texture of the fabric you have not provided vital information. Over the years I have photographed so many remarkable models for underwear and swim product shots. Fans of my work have the impression that an underwear shoot with a sexy model is an erotic adventure. In reality these poor guys are sweating it to keep things pulled together (breathing, flexing, relaxing the face, balancing on an uneven surface, keeping the junk in place and making it all look fun and effortless). The photographer is looking at exposure, wrinkles in the garment and the model, angles, light, expression, waist band placement, body language, hair, background, contrast). When it is all perfect you take the shot, change and do it all over again. I have much better suggestions for my fans if they want a job with an erotic experience for sure.

Over the last few years you have shot some really great pics for Timoteo, how did that relationship come about?

I have known Timoteo for many many years. He is first a dear friend and secondly a brilliant designer. As a secret that I
might share, Timoteo can whip out an outstanding wedding gown for his niece, or prom dress for his cousin with amazing skill. That in my opinion is true talent. Timoteo was my major influence and teacher in learning what a client needs when your are doing a product shot. I have enjoyed years of really fun projects with Timoteo as well as his journey through so many designs and colors. You can’t get that experience in a classroom.

It is also important for designers to use a variety of photographers to keep the line looking fresh, different and interesting. Too much of any one model or photographer is boring. I am a firm believer in variety and taking chances. As discussed earlier, a designer like Timoteo has to make sure that every new model and photographer he works with understands his style and produces a shot that sells and is not below the high standard he has established.

Are we going to see more pictures from this relationship soon?

I always get excited when Timoteo sneaks me a new sample (underwear, swim, fitness, jeans, shirts). I never know what color shape, size or concept is next. I place a high value in his trust in me to produce an image that he feels proud to post for his advertising campaigns. Remember designers frequently work insane hours to make this clothing line happen. A bad photo shoot is a big disappointment.

Do you have any favorite models you enjoy working with?

I have my favorite model list, which wild horses could not drag out of me for this interview. It would take a whole new interview to discuss the unusual, unexpected, didn’t see that coming, hilarious things that have happened on an underwear product shoot. I was personally responsible for many of the unexpected experiences due to my bad habit of flirting with the unknown, slippery wet things, public places and lack of respect for waves, wind and sun. Aside from that it was all good most of the time. I let my fans pick the favorite model for me.

What has been your favorite shoot you have done?

If I had to single out my favorite shoot it would be with one of a series of experiences with the never boring Ben Godfre and things always got worse if Timoteo was present because we are a very dangerous combination to put in one location. Ben attended college here in Newport and was available to shoot in between work and homework for test concepts. Water, wind, mud, sand, desert, ocean, domestic, international. Ben is not afraid of anything. Timoteo is just as bad and I can’t resist that opportunity. I will be releasing that not fit for prime time work in an upcoming book. I don’t know if it was our best commercial work but it was really fun! I regret we did not videotape those escapades.

Do you have any advice for up and coming photographers?

My advice for up coming photographers? Make sure you are passionate about doing this kind of work. You have to be willing to shoot the not fun stuff sometimes to pay for the fun times. Don’t get into a comfortable rut and shoot the same thing you have perfected, go places that will push you to grow. Be realistic about how to be a good businessman. It is fun to take pictures for a hobby but if you are going to do it as a business you need a plan for success. Research photographers in your spare time. Use to cell phone to record concepts in your day-to-day travels so they are already in your mind when you find that perfect model. Stay humble, appreciative and positive and you will never lack for work.

1102-NODOUBT-AQUAWhen you hear a new line from Gregg Homme, you know that mesh has to be in the collection. This year is no different. They their take on  “mesh underwear.” This is done through the fabrics, colors and designs. Meaning, Gregg Homme pays attention to all those factors and makes a pair of underwear fit as good as it looks.

This line  the design has the traditional thong, g-string, brief and trunk. There are two more designs that are all mesh. The first designs have a mesh back and sides, where the front is a solid pouch. So if you’re not an adventurous or you want to leave some things hidden, then this pair is for you. If by chance, you want to show it all off try the g-string, Maximizer thong, thong and brief. These have a full mesh pouch, so there will be nothing left to the imagination.
