Its the Holiday Season and we had to run this picture by Baskit! I know many of our readers (and some of them actually do) want to open their presents in just their undies.
We all love underwear, or you wouldn’t be reading this blog. There are brands that I know in years of following underwear that I think you guys should definitely know. ErgoWear is one of those brands. I have had several pairs of them even before I started UNB. They were well made and super comfortable. Some of you out there may already know the brand but those who don’t, here is a brief introduction.
The main thing you need to know about them is they have an ergonomically designed pouch. Meaning it’s designed to fit a guy and feel natural. They don’t use straps or anything else in the pouch to “enhance” you. It’s all done in a natural way that will give you the enhance without the hassle. I think the enhance is just a side effect of the underwear. I LOVE a great pouch, and ones that have enough room but give you support are hard to find. ErgoWear has always done this very well.
You maybe asking well what kind of styles do they man. Insert a “I’m a (insert style) kind of guy, and hate (insert style).” Well you are in luck, because they make their amazing pouch in every style. The styles range from long boxer briefs to thongs and everything in between. No pair lacks the amazing pouch.
As a side note they do make swimwear but for this post we are just focusing on the underwear. The very first pair I ever had was the X3D bikini. It’s made out of a nylon spandex blend and is white. For the life of me I don’t recall where I bought it from. I has been in my collection since the mid 2000’s. I always love wearing it and it’s still in rotation in my underwear collection. I am going to get a few new pairs of the brand coming up soon!
So if you want some great underwear check out Ergowear. It has an amazing pouch in every style you could ever want!
I know we have a ton of jock fans out there. Some of you guys love a traditional jock. A traditional jock is defined by the thick waistband (usually around 3 inches) a pouch and leg straps around 1 inch wide. These days these jocks are getting harder to find in fashion colors. Pistol Pete has created the Devious Jock for the lovers of the traditional jock.
This jock is the traditional cut but updated to put the Pistol Pete spin on it. The waist band has a white, red and black strip with the Pistol Pete name written in the white. It also has a drawstring in the waist band. The jock main color comes in Black or Red. And is available for $26.00
This jock has the Pistol Pete spin on it and is one you could wear to the gym or sporting event. Heck you could even wear your favorite jeans. It’s great to see a traditional jock back in the world of men’s underwear!

UNB Photographer Profile featuring
Gavin Harrison Photography
We recently started a new project with models where we profiled them for our readers to get to know as well as showcased their best work. We decided to expand this new venture to also include the artists behind the camera, the photographers. Their vision and talent enhances each photo shoot, advertisement, and continues to bring brand awareness to the public.
In our first photographer profile, Underwear News Briefs sat down with Gavin Harrison, the man behind the camera at Gavin Harrison Photography.
UNB Kyle: What was your first photo shoot and how did you come to get it?
Gavin: My first real shoot was for a Bridal company shooting at a country house. I got the job via a model agency. I’d been doing tests shots of their Models.
Kyle: What made you want to pursue photography?
Gavin: I’d been working for a few years as an illustrator and I was taking shots to use as reference material for the drawings. So I got more into shoots than drawing. Plus I was really into fashion magazines and was inspired by the work of Bruce Weber.
Kyle: Which shoot do you consider your breakthrough in your career?
Gavin: I think I’m still waiting for it to happen. I never like my shots after a few days of taking them.
Kyle: You have beautiful shots but we are our biggest critics! Definitely a talent in my opinion. How about a mini breakthrough or great experience?
Gavin: I did shoot a few times for the Royal Opera House which was pretty cool.
Kyle: Which shoot has been your favorite? Why?
Gavin: I can’t think of anyone shoot. But when I used to spend winters shooting in Miami was really fun. I made some good friends while shooting there and the weather was great.
Kyle: Which shoot has been your most challenging? Why?
Gavin: I think every shoot is a challenge. A to try and not repeat yourself and to try and offer something different to other photographers. Plus often things don’t go to plan. Clothes samples get delayed, no show models, Make up artist miss the train etc etc lol
Kyle: Are there any brands or models you would like to work with that you have not worked with yet?
Gavin: In fashion there’s always new and exciting designers who’s clothes I’d love to shoot and a new crop of exciting models. It never stops.
Kyle: How do you prepare creatively and determine your environment for the shoot? Is it determined by you, the brand, or a collaboration?
Gavin: I try to work on new ideas daily. Then when I get a commission I try to match the requirements of the brand to my ideas. But if nothings working I start from scratch. Having previously worked as an illustrator Im always drawing ideas or scribbling notes.
Kyle: It must be pretty amazing to have the ability to illustrate these ideas in your head and bring them to life in such beautiful artistry.

We received this really fun video from Justin Case. We will be seeing a lot from this brand this year! They are super fun and amazing.
Seems like the Justin Case man is ready and willing to just about anything at any given moment. Confidence is KING! Make sure to throw on a pair of Justin Case because you really never know what your day will throw at you!
Its one for the brief lovers today. This weeks pair for the Baskit $12 Tuesday is the Baskit Contrast Bikini! It’s a great pair with some awesome colors. So go check it out and all the pairs on the specials page.
Are you a fan of fetishwear? You know really fun underwear/gear that you can wear out to a bar, around the house or even to work. Who said you had to have boring underwear at work! If you are then you already know about Cellblock13. They just released the new Enforcer line.
The first thing you notice with the Enforcer line is the new waistband. The new branded waistband is awesome. Cellblock13 is written across the front and the band is a main color with thin white stripe at the bottom. I really like this band and the font the brand name is written. The other colors available are blue, green, red and orange. They are different colors form the red, yellow that has become a staple of the brand.
This line is 7 different pairs. Which for a new line is HUGE! There is the Enforcer Pant and Jock Pant. The cut is an updated one that has been featured in other lines but updated for the new colors. The Jock Pant has the back side cut out! The other styles are the Trunk, Cruising Jock, Jock Brief, Brief, and Enforcer Jock. You maybe asking whats the difference between the Cruising Jock and the regular jock? The regular jock is a classic cut of a 3 inch waistband that you see in many old school jocks. It has a tag in the front rather than the Cellblock13 name in the band.
Each of these are super fun and a great line. You can find it at retailers or the Cellblock13 site.
It’s that time of the year where warmth outweighs fashion in just about everything! However, Frank Dandy will change your mind on that after seeing these long johns. They are one of the more creative companies when it comes to patterns an prints. They usually have fun and whimsical prints in their collections each year. This year is no exception.
They have 10 different prints (4 of my favorites posted above) and 3 solids. I think if your’e going to get the long johns you gotta go for the prints. I mean there are a ton of solids out there! My favorite is the first, which is a print of toy Robots and called Robots. It also comes in a red back ground! I love this print so much.
My second favorite is the red, white and blue striped (3rd in the line) called the Honest Al striped, and one to the left is the Honest Al Block both are super fun. I love the red pouch on the block! My last favorite is the Big Bro stripe. All amazingly fun and festive. You will be warm and stylish at the same time.
All the Frank Dandy printed long johns are $59 and the slide are $39. So be warm and stylish at once!
We brought you the new jocks from Garçon Model. I thought we had to share a pink one for you guys. Check out the entire collection at their site!
Garçon Model released a new line of Jocks! They are similar to the SoBe line that came out this year. That is they are bright, colorful and fun. They have the same waistband as other pairs. The classic GM waistband! Which has become one of my favorite waistbands in underwear!
The new jocks come in 9 different color combinations. My two favorites are the So:BE which is the pink with grey waistband and pink pouch. Also the Raleigh, which has the grey/pink waistband and white pouch. They really pop and are super hot to me! Garçon Model put their own spin on the jock with these and they are awesome!
Right now they are giving you 15% off your order with code GMXTRA15%. So go to the Garçon Model to see all 9 color combinations and get your favorite.
This is a behind the scenes picture from our Long Johns shoot. The shoot features Timoteo Long Johns and Models Nathan and Chandler and shot by Taylor Campbell.

Nasty Pig released their Holiday Video called Give/Receive. Which features their clothing and underwear. Check out the video and then check out the gear.
After set this to post, I received this from Nasty Pig:
We were excited to have our second television spot run on various cable markets in the US. We shot a great holiday spot for Nasty Pig and were very happy with the results. Considering what is currently shown on TV, we were very disheartened when our spot was pulled off the air here in New York City. While no one at Time Warner Cable would reply to us for days, a reporter from Gawker came to our defense and wrote a fair and balanced story about what went down and posted our commercial so everyone could see it. Please read this story on Gawker and share it with your friends. It shows that we have a long way to go before we are truly accepted.
New campaign, new line! Just before Christmas, Modus Vivendi releases the new Masai line full of hot red items we are sure you will love! This campaign is photographed in France by Lionel ANDRE.
( plus you’ll also get free USA shipping or discounted world shipping! )
From now until Wednesday, December 17th, 2014 if your product total is $50 or more, we’ll not only throw in a free jockstrap but you’ll also get free USA shipping or discounted world shipping. It’s our Christmas double dipping deal.
While supplies last, the free jockstrap will be one of our Omtex Jockstraps (although unlikely, if we run out of Omtex jocks you’ll still get a free jock, just not one of those.) On the last step of your checkout (the invoice page) you’ll be asked to choose your size and color preference. Customer paying with Paypal, be sure to click the link back to Jockstrap Central after payment to select your free jock!

UNB Model Profile featuring Chandler Smith
Chandler sat down with us at UNB to discuss his modeling career to date as well as share some of his best work he has done.
UNB Kyle: What was your first modeling gig and how did you come to get it?
Chandler: My first opportunity i ever had to do a photo shoot was one week after the Alabama State Championship Bodybuilding competition in August this year. My friend Michael Muench got in touch with me about 2 days after the show and told me to get back on my diet and meet him in Atlanta in just 4 days haha. It was a simple shoot, just something to try to build up a portfolio. it was there i got my favorite shot so far. The one of me in pink CheapUndies and Pink Under Armour.
Kyle: What made you want to pursue modeling?
Chandler: Well its something i never thought of doing really. But when i started to get into competing in mens physique, people started to come forward wanting to work with me. So in my mind i thought, its an opportunity i might not ever get again. And i never know what will come of it if i didnt try.
Kyle: Which shoot do you consider your breakthrough in your career?
Chandler: As of right now it might have to be the first one. Mainly due to the response i got from some of the shots in it. But ive been able to do a couple of others since then but the shots have yet to be released.
Kyle: It is good to always remember your first jump into modeling. Which shoot has been your favorite? Why?
Chandler: Has to be the holiday shoot i did with you guys. It was so relaxed and everyone was having a lot of fun the whole time. Made some great friends that day.
Kyle: That one was a lot of fun! Glad you had a great experience! Which shoot has been your most challenging? Why?
Chandler: Ill have to say the first one. I had no idea what to expect, or what i was even doing really haha.
Kyle: I am sure it can be quite a new experience, but that is past you now and you have some great photos in your portfolio. Are there any brands or photographers you would like to work with that you have not worked with yet?
Chandler: Id love to do athletic wear, like Under Armour or Adidas. But from the brands ive been fortunate to wear so far, I love N2N Bodywear, and JOR. Still have so many brands to learn though haha. And again with me still be very new to all this im still learning photographers. But would absolutely love to work the FuriousFotog, Golden Czermak. He does some amazing work.
Kyle: What is something that your fans don’t know about you outside of modeling that you want them to know?
Chandler: I kinda built up a reputation among my fellow competitors this year for putting tons of pics of foodporn on everyones Facebook walls every Friday, calling it Foodporn Friday. I went even as far as starting a Facebook page for it haha. I really love food, especially sweets.
Kyle: Ok, we need to trade recipes in between underwear talk! What kind of diet and exercise do you do to prepare for shoots?
Chandler: As far as the diet goes, its not as strict as a Competition prep, but it has the same concept. Lots of proteins, low carbs, sodium, and fats. I workout 6-7 days a week. Working different muscle groups each day with about 20-30 min of cardio immediately afterwards each day.

An old underwear contact reached out to me about YOCISCO underwear. They are a brand launched in Denver in June 2013. It was the creation of international go-go dancer and male entertainer Cisco. He used is first hand knowledge of underwear to start a line that would be embraced by men of all sexual orientations, sizes and styles.
The line is a far cry from Tighty Whites. The line combines color and comfort in a a sexy, urban, edgy way. This underwear makes you feel sexy, confident and comfortable from the moment you put them on till you take them off. They say “YOCISCO, Where Sexy Starts. The picture above is proof of that!
The underwear is made out of Bamboo. They did this because its one of the softest fabrics on the market. It has a natural absorbency that keeps you dry and comfy. Another natural property is its anti-bacterial. Lastly, it’s breathable and will keep you cool.
You maybe asking what styles they have? Currently they have boxer briefs/trunks and jocks. I am looking forward to a brief! We hope you check it out at http://www.yocisco.com

Today, I’m reviewing the Envy Logo Sport Trunk. This was my first soiree into this brand, so I was interested to try this pair out. It came in a soft blue color, but is also available in black, white, and grey; and it has a “Team Envy” log on the right hip. Initially, it looked kind of small, and the sizing is “S/M” versus the traditional “S”, “M”, etc. The material felt a little scratchy when I first opened it, but after washing, it got a little more comfortable.
To review the pair, I decided to run it through the full spectrum of my day: work, gym, lounging, sleep. The legs are a little constricting, which, for a trunk is kind of a pro, and a con. The legs definitely stayed in place throughout the day, but it still felt kind of uncomfortable around my legs. At the gym, it still stayed in place well, and did a pretty good job as far as moisture wicking. It wasn’t uncomfortable to wear at the gym, but didn’t provide the best support. Overall, though, the pair held up well throughout the day.
The sizing, as I mentioned, isn’t your standard small, medium, etc; but mine came in a “S/M”, which the box says fits a 28-32 waist. I usually wear a medium in underwear, with a 32-24 waist, and the pair felt fine around my waist. Also, as mentioned above, the legs did feel a little snug. I’m not sure how much difference another size up would have made as far as the legs go, though, but as far as the waist sizing, it seemed to run pretty true to what I would have expected.
The material ended up feeling a lot better than I expected it to: it’s 90% polyester, 10% spandex, but felt kind of weird when I first took it out of the box. It’s softer than I thought it would be. I liked that the legs stayed in place all day, even at the gym: trunks often ride up too much while active and these definitely didn’t. The pouch has a similar design to the Andrew Christian “hang free” pouches, and thus, provides a little extra room. As I’ve already mentioned several times, though, the legs were really uncomfortable and tight. There really isn’t anything that makes this pair stand out, or leave me wanting to grab it first out of my drawer before anything else.
It’s not a bad pair of underwear; there’s just nothing really special about it that you can’t find in multiple other pairs of sport trunks. I didn’t feel especially sexy while wearing it, and it didn’t seem to add anything to my day that I couldn’t get from another pair of underwear. I have a desk job, so staying in place really isn’t an issue during my work day, but it was nice that everything stayed in once place while at the gym. It did keep things cool “down there”, which you won’t get from other materials, say cotton. Honestly, though, I wore it for the one day to get my impressions, and it’s been sitting in my drawer since.
Overall, I’d give this pair a rating of a 6.
Envy Men’s wear furnished this pair for review.
