Are you a fan of Baskit? If you are we have great news, they released the new X Line. I have heard about this line for a while. I was excited to see it finally released. It seems to be an amazing new addition to the Baskit line up. First, is because of the design, it is something different from what we have seen from Baskit. Second, its made out of Modal. Which, is the softest and most comfortable underwear fabric around. Well, that’s my opinion!

Here is what Baskit told us about the new line.

Product is micromodal & elastane. Super soft. Available in 4 color combinations as a brief, jockbrief, square cut or low-rise trunk. The text of the email is the text from the box… this collection is about jumping into life with courage, starting a journey with confidence. And of course, putting your best assets forward (the “X” design on the front provides a bit of lift).

Welcome to our first new “Ask UNB” Here is the first question and answer from a few of our guys.

Bill asks: You have posted a lot recently about the growing popularity of thongs. Any ideas why this is a new trend? Any tips for someone interested in trying a thong?

The Bottom Drawer (Nate):

To me there has always been an upward trend in guy’s getting into thongs. I think it has just been accelerating. It’s approaching 20 years, since I tried my first thong. Back then there was a very limited selection and places to buy thongs. Mail order catalogs and brick and mortar stores were still the main ways to buy anything. I found a handful of places to buy underwear online and Undergear was the leader. Over the years more places to buy underwear and brands have been popping up. It seems the last 5 years or so that the men’s underwear marketing has been growing faster competition wise. Brands are trying to differentiate from each other and adding thongs to their line up was a way to do so. Having more thongs visible to the guys shopping for underwear has to be tempting them to give them a try.

I’d say the Internet for sure is a big factor in the growth of thongs. It’s opened doors for buying with privacy and discussing underwear anonymously with other guys. I know I haven’t had a face to face conversation about underwear with anyone I know. Then I’m going to say the bloggers and conversations on message boards and the like are giving guys the encouragement that it is okay for them to wear a thong.

We’ll be discussing getting into thongs in a Thongs 101 series we are working on. For now the two things I’ll say is first pay attention to fabric of the thong. A nice soft fabric will be more comfortable between the cheeks. Then don’t give up after just one time wearing them. Give the pair a few chances a little more each time. Along with that try another brand or style if the first one doesn’t pan out.

TheThongedGinger

I think TBD really hit the nail on the head, and i have nothing really to add.

The best way to break into the style is fabric, pouch, and cleaning. Get a fabric that is soft with a good airflow, a good pouch that fits your style i personally love enhancer pouches, and get something that you don’t have to hand wash and hang dry for your first. The added cleaning is something you really don’t want to do unless you like the style enough to buy more.

UnderwearDude

I also agree with TBD, that the internet has certainly been a great help in opening guy’s eyes to the wide variety of underwear available, such as thongs. I don’t think this is a new trend, just a continuation of thongs trending upward with the few years where jocks dominated the market in between. I think guys are getting bored with more conservative pairs and are wanting to try something new, and thongs are a popular choice.

If you want to try a thong, I’d say go for one that looks the most comfortable to you then looks the sexiest. After that, well, the other guys have already got that covered.

UBNmichael
Don’t forget that outerwear can dictate underwear too. With the popularity of skinny jeans, thongs are very practical. Even the skimpiest briefs or bikinis will show lines and could bunch up. With that, I wonder if there is a networking effect: Your bro bends over, you see his thong, and needlessly awkward conversation ensues. In the end, you may become confident enough to wear them.

Explore your inner warrior with aussieBum’s new ‘Samurai’ undies. Inspired by ancient martial arts, and built with ultimate performance in mind, Samurai’s ultra-soft microfibre composition will keep you in maximum comfort in even the most extreme conditions, while the sports engineered waistband gives you the extra support to defeat all challengers. Available in two limited edition colours ‘Zen’ and ‘Warrior’. Get them now.

Most of us work 40+ hours a week. Meaning we are spending at least 8 hours a day in our undies. We should be wearing great undies to work to give us one less thing to worry about or annoy us. After talking to you guys over the years, I realize not everyone wears their good underwear to work. I have to go WHY? You are missing out on feeling great every day.

I know there are some that have strict uniforms and requirements. The military comes to mind. Also, professions where safety is key and fire resistance is important. These I get, you can’t wear what you want. But, if you’re an accountant, retail worker, mechanic or anything else, you need to be wearing your great underwear. Don’t leave it for weekends or special times.

One of the biggest joys of underwear for me is the comfort they bring throughout the day. If I wear something that doesn’t give support, has bad fabric or dull colors. I feel less than optimal. My best example is taking my beloved briefs/bikinis and then having to wear boxers. I’d sooner go commando, which to me is the same thing.

Office Workers

Fewer people are being made to wear suits. If you are consider wearing underwear that matches or complements your tie. It’s a small step that no one will know. If your business casual does the same with your shirt. Whether it’s a polo or button up shirt, make your undies match your shirt. It seems hokey to say but it’s a fun thing you can do. After a while doing it, you will subconsciously start doing it. I do now. I pick out either undies or shirt first and the whatever I pick next will match.

Retail Workers

If you are in retail, and I have been there. Wear underwear that gives great support. You will be on your feet 8 hours or more. Walking, standing and being active. I”d say be more practical. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still be stylish. There are plenty of great undies with pouches and amazing design. Like Sukrew, N2N Bodywear and more.

Blue Collar Workers

I think our blue collar brothers are left out of a lot of underwear discussions. It’s often thought these guys don’t like undies or could care less. We do have readers who are blue collar who love undies. They aren’t trapped in the world of boxers or boxer briefs. If you’re not “out” as an underwear guy, you may not want a whale tail from a thong sticking out. You may never hear the end of it. But, if that’s how you roll, by all means, do it. You can get great underwear that is more classic in styling and won’t bring too much attention. Like Baskit, Todd Sanfield and more.

If you’re not wearing great undies every day, you should. Wear some great undies to make you feel amazing and sexy every day

Are you a fan of bikinis? Do you want to try bikinis? Are you going to try new styles? If you answered yes to these questions a pair to give a look into is the Pistol Pete Rainbow Bikini. I am a big fan of the bikini cut. We have seen more and more brands make them. Pistol Pete has made every color in the rainbow and then some.

First, let’s talk about the colors. It comes in eight colors. Yes EIGHT! They are orange, purple, black, blue, green, red, white and yellow. It’s got every color of the rainbow! It’s rare that brand release so many colors at once. But, I’m glad they did! Now everyone can get their favorite color in this line.

What makes this a bikini? According to our bikini expert, Bikinisnthongs on twitter, it’s a lower cut, minimal waistband and smaller sides. I think this fits the bill on all three of these criteria. It’s also noted that the back is a full back. I prefer a full back and know a few of our readers feel same. Other bikinis could have a 3/4, half or minimal back.

The size of this bikini to me is almost perfect. It looks to has a front seam. It creates a bit of a pouch. It’s not an enlarging or enhancing pouch. Note that bikinis can have seams in the front, back, both or on the side. Each guy has a preference for where the seam is. I prefer a front seam.

Made out of 80% nylon and 20% spandex, it will have plenty of stretch and give. It will fit you like a second skin. Again, in any color you want! Including my favorite color, GREEN! Find this and a matching thong, the Rainbow Thong, is available in just as many colors.

BRAND: Pistol Pete
PAIR: Rainbow Bikini
COLORS: orange, purple, black, blue, green, red, white and yellow.
FABRIC: 80% nylon and 20% spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $24.50

We continue our day of spandex. Our earlier post was a little low key for spandex. This post is going full on over the top. This is in both color and design. One of my new favorite companies is Bruno Menswear. This amazing company out of Mexico is doing some amazing things in the world of men’s gear (underwear, swimwear and erotic).

We chose the Jockstrap Meggings R&B. This is part of the Intense collection. As the title says, what happens when you cross a jock with leggings. You get this extremely fun pair. Which is basically a pair of long boxer briefs with the back cut out. This style is becoming big in the world of fetishwear.

The next thing that makes this pair awesome is the color. The bright red and blue trim make this pair pop. The blue is the waistband and around the back opening and down the legs. From the front, you wouldn’t know it is backless. I really love how they design pairs of underwear/gear. A lot of their gear just makes me smile.

This fits in well in the Intense line because it’s erotic and fun. Underwear/gear should be fun and make us feel sexy. Think of wearing this under a suit to work for a presentation, or to class for a big text or just out with friends. Or if you’re really bold you can wear out to a bar night somewhere.

I hope you guys will look at more spandex gear and really have fun with it. Singlets, runners, meggings, shorts and more. Some you will be able to wear out to the gym and others are made for at home only use. Either way they should be a lot of fun to wear.

BRAND: Bruno Menswear

COLORS: Red/Blue
FABRIC: Spandex
SIZES: X-Small – X-Large
COST: $29.00

Singlets are a staple in the world of spandex gear. They have been around forever it seems. I got my first singlet  when I was in college. Then they were only sold by stores that had wrestling gear. They were the actual singlets wrestlers wore on the mat. Now we have a world of erotic and fun gear. Singlets are made for everyone and are a lot of fun.

One of the newest singlets is from Go Softwear’s Hard Core line. The Hard Core Titanium singlet. The name sounds super cool. Go Softwear makes more traditional cut singlets. Meaning they are cut like tank tops on the top and go to mid-thigh on the leg. This is one of my favorite designs. Simply because it reminds me of my first singlets.

The Titanium name comes from the metallic side panels. Each side has a bright shiny “titanium” panel. It adds just a bit of flash to the pair. Which I like, because a solid black singlet your body can get lost. You need an accent color to give the pair some form. Strategic placement will allow you to show off your body more.

The price of this singlet is great too. At Just $38.50, it’s not a bad price at all. Singlets can range from the 30’s to the upper 90’s. If you’re looking to try a singlet this is a great starter singlet. It’s not too over the top and it’s at a great price.

The Go Softwear Hard Core is their fetish line. It has a little bit harder design than the typical Go Softwear, but that’s what makes it fun to wear!

BRAND: Go Softwear
PAIR: Hard Core Titanium Singlet
COLORS: As Seen
FABRIC: Body fabric is 95% rayon 5% spandex. Metallic Fabric is 88% polyester 12% spandex
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $38.50

We are working on a few things for thongs. We have seen a big take off in guys wearing thongs, gay/straight, it doesn’t matter. This week International Jock sent out an email that “Thongs aren’t your Dad’s Underwear.” I was like “OH SNAP!” International Jock is embracing the thong and starting to push it as well.

While not my favorite style, a lot of you guys are starting to wear them and not look back. This is amazing for underwear. It’s having guys try something new and liking it. Thongs in the past of men’s underwear have been like the step child of underwear. It was relegated to the back pages of adult magazines and no “gentleman” would wear such apparel.

Those days are gone. Thank god! Now thongs are being sold online and in major department stores. And by big brands such as Calvin Klien and 2(X)ist. We will see them grow even more this year. They were a little under the radar last year, but this year it’s going to be a full on thong year.

How do I know it’s taking off. Well, three of our biggest thong fans are straight. And they are huge fans of the style. More guys I talk too through UNB also profess their love of thongs. And, many of you are starting to share that love online with others.

I want personally thank International Jock for sending out an email focused on thongs. International Jock has always had really fun gear and promoted many great undies throughout the years. They aren’t just pushing a few thongs. They have one of the largest thong collections of any store on the net. From traditional to strings and everything in between. They have it. If you can’t find a thong you love there, it’s not made.

Head over to the International Jock and see their Thong Page. I think you will be amazed.

What do you get when aussieBum mixes the WonderJock tech with an ergonomically designed pouch? You get the Enlarge IT line. The combination will do exactly what the name suggests, it will Enlarge your bulge. If you’re a guy who doesn’t want to show off what you have, as the aB saying goes ‘If you doubt yourself, wear something else.”

The Enlarge IT line has been in the aB lineup for a while. This is an update to the colors. These new colors are pastels. Which, I must say I love in men’s underwear. Guys should have the choice to get any color in underwear. Pastels aren’t used as much as they could be, in my opinion.

The design of the Enlarge IT is a cool design. It looks like it has it could possibly have a fly in the pouch. The sides of the pouch are open to allow air circulation. Also, I think this feature is to accommodate a man of any size. It gives the pouch a little extra room to stretch. Also, the waistband is set to have the solid ‘aussieBum” name centered in the waistband.

This line has two of the classic style of aussieBum. The brief and hipster. They have been good about making pairs in briefs and trunks for years. This allows them to reach fans of each style. These are pretty reasonable price. aussieBum does a great job at creating affordable underwear. Each pair is under $20 each. Plus with free shipping to the US, makes it a great deal.

Valentine’s Day is around the corner. If you are on the lookout for the perfect pair we just may have the pair you need. Plus, it’s never too early to get your “game day” pair ready. The pair is the Andrew Christian Kiss Me Brief. Made especially for the romance month!

The brief is made from a limited edition Lip print. The fabric of the brief is a “sports mesh” type of fabric. AC says the fabric will look like it’s painted on. I will say their mesh briefs like these are some of the best on the market. They are super comfy and fit great.

One important feature is the pouch. Made with an anatomical pouch. Which, AC is known for, you will hang naturally and feel great. AC really knows how to make a pouch. The Almost Naked and Trophy Boy have been my favorite. This looks more like the Almost Naked, although, they don’t say which pouch design it is.

I really love this pair. I like over the top prints that are on great undies. We are supposed to have fun with our undies right? On Valentine’s day or “Game day” as I call it, you want to wear your best gear. This will get attention from any partner. I know I would love it to see my partner in these.

Looking for great pair of undies for a fun night. Then this is the pair for you. Get them quick before they are gone. Being a limited edition print it will go fast. Also in a jock and trunk. No matter what style you love, they will have it for you in the Kiss Me Print.
