Behind the scenes at last year’s aussieBum Broome Shoot. Watch the video!
A year ago this month we ran the new Marcuse collection. It was a great collection. This is the Monster suit in Grey. Their swim briefs are always fun and stylish.
We love YOCISCO! They are celebrating 9 years! If you haven’t read our interview with YOCISCO go check it out now! Also, go to their site to see some awesome undies. We can’t wait to see what new pairs they release.
Looking for a great deal on a classic pair from Baskit. The Body Art Brief is on sale. It was based on a tattoo pattern. It’s one of the lines they have had the longest. Today only it’s available for $12 until midnight. They also launched a “$10 Last Call” section with limited colors/sizes/quantities of closeouts. Shope the Baskit site.
One brand I have come to know over the years is YOCISCO. I met them in Vegas one year and we have kept in touch. It wasn’t until this year that I discovered they were founded the same year as UNB! We got a chance to interview them over the last 9 years.
YOCISCO and UNB started the same year, 2008, what made you start YOCISCO?
Catastrophe! At the time of the economic crash of 2008, I had been working as a mortgage broker for six years (yes, I had a day job). When the market crashed, we lost everything. I even lost my home. It was a scary time especially having a young daughter to take care of. I had been traveling around the country and internationally, go-go dancing for seven years prior to 2008. During that time, I met fans face to face, interacted with them, shook hands and gave hugs. I reflected on what I was passionate about and concluded that it was the community. They held me up and kept me going during one the most challenging times in my life. YOCISCO started as an online magazine for gay men featuring info on fashion, fitness, events and even advice. My goal was to give a sense of community to gay men of color where they could feel at home online. It’s funny how tragedy gives way to triumph. Had it not have been for the crash, I would never have started YOCISCO.The underwear part didn’t come along until 2013.
When you started, what were the biggest challenges you face?
The learning curves! I had never owned much less operated a website. The lessons learned have been hard and sometimes frustrating but you learn a little each time and you get better. When I launched underwear in 2013, I had been taking courses in fashion and design so I was a little more prepared to enter the apparel market. Sometimes the biggest challenge you can face is yourself. My confidence in myself had been tested. It’s not easy losing your career and everything you worked so hard for. I learned however, in the end, you can’t be afraid to jump in and sometimes fail. That’s a part of growth but there can’t be growth without persistence and failure.
How did you overcome those challenges to still be around today?
I think it first starts with surrounding yourself with good people. As a business owner, you’re essentially a one-man band and it’s easy to take on too much. You can’t be afraid to ask for help and delegate tasks to others. I have been very blessed to have the right people come into my life at the right time.
From the first collection till now, how has your style grown/changed in designing underwear?
It seems like forever ago we launched the first collection of cotton briefs. We are now launching our sixth collection and each time I learn something new in terms of what people like and what will sell. One of the best things we could have done was switch from cotton to bamboo. It truly is a superior fabric due to its moisture wicking and odor absorbing properties. It’s also eco-friendly and sustainable which is an issue near and dear to my heart.
When we first started to cover you, there were a lot of jocks. Do you go through phases in your design process?
There is a lot to consider when designing. Seasonality affects the designs as well as the demands of the market and of course trends. We launched jocks in 2014 initially and sold out quickly. We have heard from tons of customers wanting new jockstraps. I’ve been listening and happy to report that we have new jockstraps in our upcoming collection.
Where do you draw inspiration from creating new lines/pairs?
I get inspiration from many places. I do a lot of research into each collection I produce in terms of picking colors and motifs. Aside from research, I find inspiration from current events, music, nature and just things I like to do in my daily life. I also consult with my team to decide what people are wanting and needing. Not all creative ideas are clever enough to move the consumer, so I take all the research and advice into consideration before finalizing the designs.
Who is the YOCISCO guy? Who is your customer?
The YOCISCO man draws strength from his identity and feels sexy in his own skin. He is active in daily life going from the office to the gym and doesn’t have time to worry about his underwear. The YOCISCO man works hard and plays hard and expects his underwear to do the same all while being effortlessly sexy. He will spend on luxury but expects impeccable quality, brilliant design and durability in exchange. He is the guy who cares about his family, his community and our world while still having a sense of humor and enjoying the little things in life.
How do you think the next 9 years will go, with what you have learned over the previous 9 years?
I expect the next nine years to take us to heights we haven’t imagined. We have grown and changed so much over the past 9 years. We are looking to expand our reach in other international markets. We’re currently sold in the UK. We want to continue making products that stand the test of time.
Over the last nine years, I’ve learned success doesn’t happen overnight. It takes a lot of sweat equity and it isn’t glamourous but it’s worth it in the end. I think its also important to believe in something bigger than yourself, hold it close and never deviate from it.
Who is a well-known personality you would love to see in your brand?
President Barack Obama. Enough said
What can we expect in the future from YOCISCO?
You will first be able to expect our continued commitment to quality, comfort, and sustainability. You will see a wider range of styles and designs as well as an increased presence in the market. You can expect to for us to continuously evolve and stay innovative but never losing sight of our customer
See some of the amazing styles of underwear at the YOCISCO site.
We know if you read UNB You love undies. We are a group of guys of all sexual orientations that bond over underwear. We have so much in common it’s amazing. I have been brainstorming how to expand the site and do more. One area we will be expanding is merchandise. We will be producing some different things. The first is the I Love LOVE LOVE Underwear shirt.
We ran this on Instagram and I thought it would be a perfect shirt design. It’s fun and a take on the I Love NY shirts from back in the day. We have opened a store on the Zazzle platform and we hope you will enjoy some of the things we create. To get the shirt head over to our Zazzle store!

When I first saw this collection it called sports underwear. Also, the name of them reminded me of a position in soccer or football for non-Americans. The design and accented stitching of this collection reminded me of other athletic clothing. aussieBum does promote this as sports performance underwear that brings ultra comfort on and off the field. This collection is available in four styles and two colors.
All pairs have a fairly wide looking waistband in gray with the aussieBum name on it. Then you can choose black with red stitching or blue with red stitching for the body of the underwear. Pick your style from a jock, jock brief, what I’ll call a jock hipster, or go with the long legged boxer brief. All but the boxer brief are made to expose the buttock. They’re made out of a super soft modal fabric that is breathable and supportive. The blend of the fabric is 87% micro modal and 13% elastane. I find modal to be a great all around fabric. The amount of support it provides does seem to be determined by the amount of the elastane, lycra, or spandex type fabric they blend with it. At least that is my experience with modal fabrics.
All styles are available in sizes small to extra large. They are to be machined washed gentle in cold water and are not to be tumbled dried. So if you don’t like to hang your undies to dry you might want to pass on these. Though I think air drying your underwear helps them last longer. Heat tends to be hard on elasticity. This line is proudly made in Australia. If you are in the market for some athletic underwear then maybe a pair from the Stryker collection would suit the occasion.
BRAND: aussieBum
PAIR: Stryker
NEW COLORS: Black, Blue
FABRIC: 87% Micro Modal, 13% Elastane
SIZES: S – XL

Are you a fan of fetishwear and camo? If you said yes, the new Maskulo Limited edition camo collection is for you! Available in some of their best styles. Don’t miss out on this amazing collection.
This year has seen a lot of releases from N2N Bodywear. It seems just when I think they can’t release anything else…BAM! Here is something new. The newest is the Mojave Spring collection. Which to me is super hot! It comes with a branded waistband, a great one for waistband fans. And in five styles and three different colors.
Let’s first talk about the styles. They are available in a jock, thong, bikini, bikini brief and a boxer. Most of our readers will the first four styles. However, we do have boxer brief fans who will love the boxer. I will say this about the boxers from N2N Bodywear, they fit amazing and they pay attention to the pouch.
Speaking of the pouch! It’s a contoured pouch. I was thinking it looked like the N-hance pouch but the official description says “contoured.” The N-hance pouch is my all time favorite pouch by N2N. Each of these pairs will give you amazing support through the pouch.
The waistband is amazing. I am a big waistband fan and love ones that look cool. This one definitely does. The N2N logo in the waistband really looks great reversed from the darker color of the stripes. Not everyone is a waistband fan, but if you are this is a pair for you!
The three colors are Green, Blue, and coral. Green is my favorite color and glad to see them making it in this line. One last thing is the fabric. It’s a 90% cotton 10% spandex blend. Meaning it will fit you very well and move through out the day. Making it a perfect pair for working out just hanging out around the house.

Andrew Christian furnished these pairs for review. The opinions expressed are those of the reviewer.
Rating: 9.2/10 (Average of the ratings below)
- Daily Fit: 9/10
- Sizing: 9/10
- Construction: 9/10
- Styling: 10/10
- Daily Performance: 9/10
Pros:
- Awesome Almost Naked pouch that gives natural lift and support
- A solid waistband for those who aren’t fans of waistband
- Love the super hero feel of the pairs
Cons:
- If you are a guy who likes prints, these are solid colors
- They are sold in a three pack,
UNB Tim recommendation: I loved the color and feel of these briefs. They are super fun and held up really great throughout the day. I would recommend these for super hero fans or those who love bright colors in their undies.
It’s not everyday that we review a three pack on UNB. Usually most pairs that come in packs are ones you get at big box stores. This is not one of those pairs. The Superhero Boy Briefs. They are a set of Almost Naked briefs in super hero colors. Meaning they are bright colors topped off with a contrasting waistband. So those of you out there worried they are juvenile comic characters all over you undies l, you can relax.
This is what Andrew Christian had to say about the pairs
Look and feel as sexy as three superheroes in our 3 pack of Superhero Boy Briefs. A stylish, limited edition version of a classic boy brief, each pair has everything you love about all your favorite Andrew Christian styles – “hang-free” design and no hidden cups, straps, or padding, and a super soft snuggle pocket to create a truly enjoyable, unique wearing experience. Wearing them almost feels like you’re wearing nothing at all.
The briefs themselves are a pretty simple design. They don’t have the prints or wild cuts as other pairs. Which for this line is perfect. I think the more simple the design the better. I mean how many super heroes have patterned underwear? Not many I would say.
I wore these pairs to work on three consecutive days. They fit great. The pouch is one of my favorite things. Say what you will of Andrew Christian, the man knows how to make an amazing pouch. One that doesn’t show off too much but still gives plenty of support which is important for me.
Some things I really liked were the color combinations. They do mimic super heroes. Blue/Red, Black/Yellow and Red/Blue. If you aren’t a fan of branded waistbands. The Superhero Boy Briefs have a solid waistband with the Andrew Christian name woven in the band. This means it’s not noticeable. If anyone sees it, they will see a solid band.
Made out of a 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex blend. This fabric kept me cool all day and felt amazing. Wearing these to work was a good decision. I am not sure being a cotton blend I would wear them to the gym or working out. The pouch in these again are AMAZING.
The sizing for me in Andrew Christian has been spot on. I received an XL and it fit well. The important thing to do is make sure you look at the sizing chart. If you are on the boarder of a size go up a size jut to be safe.

I was talking to a friend this week and he told me that he wears boring underwear to work but fun stuff on weekends. This made me go “HUH?” This friend is not one that has to change at work or be in a position to have his coworkers see his choice of underwear. I inquired why he did this, he informed me that he wanted to focus on work and not undies.
This made me inquire more about that statement. He continued to say that he gets distracted when he wore “sexy” undie to work. This guy is a suit and tie junior executive type. I think it’s the feeling of being naughty. If he wore a thong he would feel the suit pants against his skin in the back. I asked what he wore, he said usually black trunks were his undies of choice to work.
This got me thinking, do we have readers who do this? I know we have a ton of guys that love to wear thongs, bikinis and even lace to work. They really want to be comfortable and it’s not a thought about what to wear. We even have guys on our staff that wear thongs to work on a regular basis.
There are is a subset of guys who view underwear as sexual. More so than most of us. To them, the underwear represents having a good time and getting ready to get buy. That they associate underwear with sex. There is nothing wrong with that at all. All of us want to wear something that makes us feel amazing before that special night. This is how my love of underwear started. Over the years it just became part of who I am
Over the years it just became part of who I am. I love to incorporate the love of undies in with my special times. But I don’t fully associate them with sex anymore. We have a really cool Brief Talk coming up where we discuss this topic amongst gay and straight guys. Be on the look out for it in August.
What is your underwear of choice for work and why?

Andrew Christian furnished an “Ace” jock from its “Almost Naked” collection for review.
Rating: 9/10
- Daily Fit: 10/10
- Sizing: 10/10
- Construction: 9/10
- Styling: 10/10
- Daily Performance: 6/10
Pros:
- That perfect “Almost Naked” pouch
- Leg straps are attached underneath the waistband
- Narrow leg straps feature subtle embossing of Andrew Christian brand
Cons:
- This is streetwear, not gym wear
- The leg straps curl and loosen when sweat-soaked
Osgon’s Recommendation: A worthwhile buy if you like fashion jocks
With around 50 in my collection, you might say I’m a fan of the athletic support (aka “the jock strap”). So I was excited when UNB Tim asked me to review the “Ace” jock from Andrew Christian’s “Almost Naked” collection.
Unless clearly marketed as fashion or fetish wear, I believe athletic supporters should be able to withstand the rigors of a real workout. I tested AC’s Ace Jock by putting it through a rough, 90-minute at-home gauntlet of lifting weights (leg day!) plus HIIT cardio.
The Ace Jock is extremely well-made. The seams are nicely constructed. The fabric finish is trim and neat. Its leg straps are attached underneath the waistband, which provides a more polished aesthetic. (All designers should follow suit.) The “Almost Naked” pouch provides exceptional support, just as one would expect. And the 95% cotton, 5% spandex offers a soft hand to the material.
Alas, the Ace Jock didn’t stand up to the rigors of a workout. When the leg straps became sweat-soaked, they curled. They also loosened slightly. Leg straps should remain flat and taught against the buttocks throughout a workout, even when wet. Neither issue became so problematic as to interfere with the workout, but each issue is a fault worth noting. And each fault necessitates one consider the Ace Jock as “street wear” and not “gym gear.” (As a “street wear” product, the Ace Jock would probably receive a 9.6 or higher rating.)
If you wear a jock strap under your jeans on date night or under shorts while running errands, the Ace Jock makes a stylish, functional choice. Just don’t expect it to be your go-to supporter for a heavy leg day or Kickboxing Cardio at 24 Hour Fitness.
At last check, the Ace Jock is available only in size medium (30-32”) at www.andrewchristian.com. Other online stores may have additional sizes in stock. I would expect other jock straps within AC’s “Almost Naked” range to perform similarly.

D.HEDRAL adds the Midas touch to its iconic Gigolo Joe style with the addition of metallic gold detailing.D.HEDRAL recently traveled to Tel Aviv to shoot and interview Israeli Movement Artist Netti Lapidot, who models Gigolo Joe II Gold in the latest installment of the DH12 editorial series.
D.HEDRAL is the first brand to offer men’s underwear with fit beyond a waistband. Recognizing not all men share the same body shape, D.HEDRAL developed patented AngleFit Technology that ergonomically stretches the fabric on the rear from three points to guarantee a perfect fit.
This revolutionary concept is engineered into lightweight seamless Italian cotton microfiber fabric to create a figure-hugging Second Skin with improved fit and supreme breathability for maximum comfort and freedom of movement.
GIGOLO JOE II boasts a structured support with a Y that vertically has close to zero elasticity whilst the horizontal stretch is determined by the shape and volume of the bum. This provides unique contoured fabric coverage over the glutes resulting in a visual enhancement of the natural silhouette.
D.HEDRAL’s iconic Gigolo Joe design features sporty thermotape accents and bold D.H logo waistband. The hybrid brief is knitted seamlessly using lightweight Italian cotton microfiber and handsewn with an elastic waistband for extra support.
The thermotape Y on the rear emphasizes the enhanced silhouette created by patented Anglefit Technology for a perfect fitting, figure-hugging second skin.
