We bring you a new brand called #Hashtag Hooker. It has an odd name but has some really amazing pairs and a great philosophy in making underwear and swimwear!
First, before we get into anything, can you explain the name? Why did you call it Hashtag Hooker?

I wanted a strong brand name that was catchy and that could resonate with my audience. The brand embodies a glamorous lifestyle with a fashion edge where you can feel sexy and confident when wearing the product. As a designer from New York, I am always inspired and motivated by anything different, unique and that stands out with a hint of grit and naughtiness. I prefer to approach things unconventionally and want to offer something different than what’s currently offered in the underwear and swimwear space. Also, the brand advocates equality and breaking barriers, with the name taking a stance on the ideas of “more than meets the eye, contradicting any current beliefs, no preconceived judgment, and being free to be who you are.” You can read more about the brand on my About Us page at https://shop.hashtaghooker.com/pages/about-us.

Do you feel this name may scare some guys off from the brand?

To be honest, this has been a challenge that has weighed over the brand since its launch 2 years ago. As with any new idea or anything controversial, I believe it takes time for the general public to grow accustomed to it. Of course, #HOOKER may not be for everyone. But so far, I have grown a niche following and I treasure my audience who understands and appreciates the brand’s message.

Tell us about your underwear and swimwear?

Behind the provocative brand name and identity, our mission is to create and offer a product that is not only designed well but also performs with our customer’s purpose in mind. As a fashion design graduate from Parsons School of Design with 20-years experience working for major fashion brands, my strength is to design with the utmost attention to detail, fit, function and construction. Our styles do just that. For example, if you dissect our underwear, the styles look great but if you look close, you will find that they are made with the best quality fabric with one of the softest waistbands you’ll ever find on the market. The fabric is made from special Coolmax® yarns which is usually found in performance type undergarments to keep you dry all day long. I’ve wear-tested every piece myself, making sure they fit and function as they should. After years of unhappily wearing other brands and experiencing discomfort, my goal was to design our underwear so comfortable that you feel like you’re not wearing anything at all, and I have to say objectively, I’ve succeeded. Our customers are testaments and believers. One customer has even shared “he’s thrown out all his other underwear and only wears #HOOKER now.”

Our swimwear is designed with the same philosophy. The fabric is performance grade and everything has been wear-tested for chlorine and salt water. Even the #HOOKER Gold pieces with crystal embellishments are easy care that can be machine washed. All the exclusive pieces from the #HOOKER Gold line come with a special pouch that can be used for travel and machine wash. One more thing to mention, both the underwear and swimwear are designed with a hidden internal pocket. My inspiration behind this detail was being on the beach and not having anywhere to put my cash and ID if I wanted to get up and grab a quick refreshment. The two latter examples are how I design with function in mind.

When we talked before you spoke of the swimwear is the focus over the summer, What have been some of your best selling swimwear this year?

The focus this Spring/Summer season for swimwear is Gold, White, Green, and an exclusive Pop Art Camo print that I created myself. This year I wanted to take the brand to a fun and bright spin for the season, using sparkle and metallic gold as accents. Our crystal embellished pieces are still our best sellers. Our customers crave uniqueness and quality. They want to stand out and be noticed. The crystal embellished pieces are quite captivating and attention grabbers when you see them in person. They radiate and catch the light, thus sparkle in the sun. Our crystal embellished products have become the brand’s trademark and we are now US Patent Pending, which means #HOOKER is the only place where you can get them.

Our readers range from gay to straight, is your underwear made for everyone?

Although we have a niche clientele, our products are designed for anyone who is confident and comfortable with his individuality. I am excited to collaborate with UNB so we can broaden our audience and connect with men who want to try something special and not be afraid to express himself.

What type of guy is the Hashtag Hooker guy?

The #HOOKER guy is definitely someone who is bold, confident, and not afraid to go against the stereotype norms. It excites me to to be a part of a movement to liberate men from the expectations of our society and push the boundaries of what is perceived as ‘masculine.’ #HOOKER is for all guys – gay, straight, or whatever – who want to look and feel sexy.

You are focusing on Underwear but what underwear do you currently offer and what are your best sellers?

Our underwear comes in 3 styles: Johnny Jock, Fletcher Brief, and Evan Boxer. Each style addresses each type of customer and/or any given purpose with looking and feeling sexy always in mind. Our jock is for the daring or someone who wants to wear less but with support. Our brief is for someone who wants something traditional but still is fashionable. Our boxer is for someone who prefers conservative coverage but still wants to look #hot. We offer all 3 styles with crystal embellishments in the #HOOKER Gold line and recently added them in our Pop Art Camo print for Spring/Summer. So far our best selling underwear styles are the Johnny Jock with Crystals and Evan Boxer with Crystals. Our customers appreciate something unique and are impressed with how the product accentuates your ‘assets.’

In the fall you said you would focus on underwear again, do you have new pairs/line planned?

We are planning to promote and build a campaign around the underwear in the fall. We plan to introduce new colors, more crystal embellished styles, and prints.

Where can our readers find your awesome underwear and swimwear?

Our products can be found at our shop at hashtaghooker.com. We make custom orders too! For additional info and custom orders, you can email us at info@hashtaghooker.com.

Thongs 101: Fabrics

When it comes to thongs, the fabric can make or break them especially if you are at the beginning stages of wearing them. Really the fabric can make or break any pair of underwear. I would argue more so for thongs with fabric in a place you aren’t used to. You want to make sure the tail of the thong is made of a fabric that will be comfortable. It’s going to be sitting between the cheeks all day.

What should you look for in the fabric? I’d say how soft it is and a lighter weight fabric. If the fabric is lighter in weight then there will be less fabric between the cheeks. Soft fabric is always something good to have all the way around. Who doesn’t want something soft against the skin? Ideally, you’d want to be able to touch the fabric to figure out which you think would be comfortable in the back. Unfortunately, it isn’t common to find a thong at the store unless you are lucky enough to live near a men’s underwear store. You’ll most likely be ordering online, so it won’t be realistic feeling the fabric of the thong. Now how do you decided on what fabric to look for in a thong that you can not touch? First, you could go by underwear you already own. You already know which pairs are soft and lightweight in your underwear drawer. Look at what they are made of and look for a thong made of it. Another option is read reviews and look for ones that talk about the comfort of the fabric.

Some of the fabrics I think would be good options to try are bamboo, knit silk, and modal or micro modal. The modal and bamboo fabrics are usually blended with another fabric like lycra for some elasticity. For me, thongs made out of these fabrics can go as unnoticeable between the cheeks. Some lace and mesh fabrics can be scratchy, so you’ll want to avoid those for now. If one fabric doesn’t work for you then try some others. Once you find a fabric that is comfortable for long term wear, you can start experimenting with other fabrics.

Fight The Flat in Gigolo Joe II Camo

D.HEDRAL invites men to break ranks from the norm, take charge of their underwear, and join an elite troop, with the launch of a super limited edition 100 piece range of its best-selling Gigolo Joe II style in camouflage!

The iconic Gigolo Joe style with a Y on the rear, designed to improve t and emphasize the natural shape of the wearer’s body, receives a militant make-over for Summer 2017 – each pair boasting an individual camo pattern.

ABOUT GIGOLO JOE II

GIGOLO JOE II CAMO (Limited Edition) Briefs: £40 | $60 | €50
80% Cotton / 15% Polyamide / 5% Elastane

AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE VIA DHEDRAL.COM

D.HEDRAL’s iconic Gigolo Joe design features sporty thermotape accents and bold D.H logo waistband. The hybrid brief is knitted seamlessly using lightweight Italian cotton microfiber and hand-sewn with an elastic waistband for extra support.
The thermotape Y on the rear emphasizes the enhanced silhouette created by patented Angle t Technology for a perfect figure-hugging second skin.

WHAT IS ANGLEFIT TECHNOLOGY?

D.HEDRAL was the first brand to offer men’s underwear with t beyond a waistband. Recognizing not all men share the same body shape, D.HEDRAL developed patented AngleFit Technology that ergonomically stretches the fabric on the rear from three points to guarantee perfect t.

This revolutionary concept is engineered into lightweight seamless Italian cotton microfiber fabric to create a figure-hugging Second Skin with improved t and supreme breathability for maximum comfort and freedom of movement.

GIGOLO JOE II boasts a structured support with a Y that vertically has close to zero
elasticity whilst the horizontal stretch is determined by the shape and volume of the bum. This provides unique contoured fabric coverage over the glutes resulting in a visual
enhancement of the natural silhouette.

D.Hedral furnished the Seamless Trunk for review.

Rating: 9.6/10

  • Daily Fit: 9/10
  • Sizing: 10/10
  • Construction: 10/10
  • Styling: 10/10
  • Daily Performance: 9/10

Pros: Luxurious material, Anglefit technology, ridiculously comfortable

Cons: No defined pouch (more of a personal preference)

UNB Marco recommendation: This is hands down one of the best pairs of underwear I’ve ever worn. Completely worth the extra expense.

I first reviewed the Seamless Briefs from D.Hedral, so my expectations were very high for their trunk. In most ways, it’s similar to the brief, but in the end, this pair was better on all levels in my opinion. After these two pairs, I may have found a new favorite brand. D.Hedral is, of course, an Italian brand, which gives it that suave European style, and they really go above and beyond with design, quality, and innovation.

As with the brief, this pair would work well in any context, but the fabric is specifically designed to be ideal for exercise. I particularly liked wearing this pair to work, because it is perfect under a suit. The Anglefit technology and contouring design make it almost feel like you got your underwear tailored, so it’s meant to be. I can’t say enough about the comfort level of this pair of underwear.

I really liked the fabric blend on this pair, 92% polyamide and 8% elastane, which makes it stretchy, lightweight, and sleek. I noted in my brief review that that pair kind of rode up above one of my butt cheeks by the end of the day, but that was not a problem with this pair at all. That’s likely because this was a trunk and the leg elastic was well-defined, so it just was inherently not a problem. That pretty much removed my only complaint about the brief, so the trunk definitely comes out on top. I like how low rise the pair is because it complements your body and adds to the allure of the pair.

Although it’s called a trunk, the inseam is more like a boxer brief, probably around 6 inches down the leg. That’s really the ideal length for a pair of underwear in my opinion. As for sizing, there are only two options, small/medium and large/XL. My small/medium fit me well, and I’m a 31” waist, which is in the middle of the 28-34” range they suggested, a good sign. Go for the size you’d normally choose, and it will definitely fit because of the stretchable fabric.

Although it might be a bit less convenient to get a pair of D.Hedral due to international shipping, it’s completely worth it. This pair, or really any from this brand, will be a great addition to your underwear drawer.

When I saw my email today I was like NO WAY. I thought the #10 jock was gone forever. I spoke to Jockstrap Central about it over email. They told me they didn’t know if the new company, Meyer, bought Bike. It was unknown if they would continue making the infamous jock. I guess we have the answer

This is what Jockstrap Central says:

Incredible news! The Bike #10 Jockstrap is back just with another name. Seriously. It’s the Meyer Original Bike #10 jockstrap and it doesn’t get more authentic than this. Even better is that we’re offering them at introductory pricing: They’re 10% off until June 20th.

Here’s the scoop:

Meyer was the licensed distributor for Bike in Europe and dealt with the Bike Factory directly. When Bike stopped producing their jockstraps, Mayer stepped up to the plate and approached the Bike factory to start re-producing the original Bike jockstraps for them using the exact same sizing and specs. As mentioned, the only thing different is the name. Size, style, fit, fabric and even the label are identical except where the BIKE logo was there’s now a new MM (for Meyer Marketing) logo. They even have the same manufacturing number: 7110!

Honestly, it doesn’t get any better than this. This is the classic sports jock that started it all, the one you love for sports and THE jock to have for all your sports fetish play. It’s the epitome of masculinity with it’s full 3 inch wide waistband, moisture wicking contoured pouch and sturdy leg straps to keep everything in place.

The new #10s are available in both white and black and in sizes small to xlarge with one minor exception: Meyer messed up and instead of sending us the white Meyer Original Bike #10 Jockstraps in size small, they sent us the old Bike Vintage Throwback #10 Jockstraps in small – which is crazy as we thought all the Throwback Jocks were gone long ago (more on this below).

Go to Jockstrap Central to find out more about the Meyer Jocks.

Today is Baskit $12 Tuesday! This week’s pair is the Ribbed Tank. Here are some words by Baskit. “Perhaps you don’t think you’re a “tank man?” Trust us… you are! Our tank has a solid fit and a defined style that is sure to please. The arm opening is higher than average, setting off your arms, and causes the tee to outline the chest.”

Remember the pair is only on sale till Midnight at the Baskit site.

D.Hedral furnished the Seamless Brief for review.

Rating: 9.2/10

  • Daily Fit: 9/10
  • Sizing: 10/10
  • Construction: 9/10
  • Styling: 8/10
  • Daily Performance: 10/10

Pros: Luxurious material, Anglefit technology, waistband

Cons: No defined pouch (more of a personal preference), didn’t stay in place all day

UNB Marco recommendation: I am in love with this blend of materials and the classiness of this pair of briefs.

D.Hedral is one of those brands I’ve always wanted to try, but because it’s a European brand that charges shipping and is a bit on the pricey side, I never ended up making a purchase. Within the first minute of putting on the pair, I knew I had been seriously missing out.

When I first saw the pair, I assumed it would be more of a fashion pair and not made for going to the gym, but after wearing it, I realized I was wrong. The material is lightweight, breathable, and dries quickly, so it’s actually ideal for high-intensity activities. In addition, as its name says, it’s seamless, so that allows for more freedom of movement for various exercises. But I also think it’s  perfect for those lazy Sunday mornings spent lounging around the house because of its sheer comfort. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s one of the most comfortable pairs of briefs I’ve ever worn. It fits like a glove, has soft fabric, and doesn’t constrict any part of me.

My favorite feature of this pair is D.Hedral’s Anglefit Technology. Basically, it’s like an invisible Y back that contours your rear end and results in a perfect fit. There’s no lifting or uncomfortable straps, it simply acts as a second skin and shows off your silhouette. Overall, the seamless construction works well, definitely better than other seamless pairs that kind of choke your package due to the lack of built-in pouch. Every aspect of this pair is elegant and modern, especially the contrast waistband that adds an extra layer of style.

As for size, there’s actually only a Small/Medium and a Large/Extra Large. Normally this would present a problem, but the pair allows for ample stretching, so you should be safe basing your size off of their waist size ranges.

I suspect that within the next year or two, D.Hedral is going to become a major player in the American underwear market. That’s because it’s extremely comfortable, makes you look good, and has a classic yet unique look that appeals to every type of guy.

When you think industrial you think of architecture. It’s not a term that is usually used in underwear. BodyAware created a new line called industrial. Knowing the underwear that BodyAware comes up with, you can guarantee that it will be fun and a little over the top. The over the top is a good thing in the world of underwear, it adds excitement.

The new Industrial line comes in the Brief, Tank, Short and Booty Short. The entire collection is black, I will say this line would be awesome in some primary colors but the black makes it super sexy. They mix solid black fabric and mesh.

Industrial Brief

Looking to show off a little? The Industrial briefs are for you! The front is a mix of the industrial mesh and micro mesh through mesh. It will show off all your hard work. Here is what BodyAware says: Featuring a lightweight and sleek stretch fabric with glossy industrial net insets at hip for a peek of skin.  The textured net front pouch has a comfortable contouring seam down the front and is lined in a soft micromesh to allow a bit of show-through without compromising your modesty or comfort.  Retails for $25.95 on the BodyAware site.

Industrial Tank

The Industrial Tank is one not for the shy. It’s similar to the Industrial brief. It’s the industrial mesh over the micro mesh. What BodyAware says: With a detailed design featuring a sleek stretch net with glossy texture for just a peek of skin. The textured net front is lined in a soft micromesh to allow a bit of show-through without compromising your comfort. Retails for $28.95

Industrial Shorts

The Industrial Short is something for the more modest. Well, in a way. The PVC material gives it a leather/rubber look with the industrial mesh sides. See, I said more modest not modest. Here is what BodyAware says: Slick and shiny, the PVC Industrial Short features a 4-needle waistband for extra comfort and wide side panel of glossy industrial net.  The net is stretchy and comfortable against the skin, with a subtle glistening inlay.   Structured and contoured front pouch that is comfortable and gives plenty of room for your boys. Retails for $25.95

Industrial Booty Shorts

The Industrial Booty Short is for those who want more coverage but still want to show off some! It’s the same pouch as the Industrial brief. However, the back is all about the booty. It’s a half cut in the back. It shows off all the junk in the trunk. Not a thong but will give someone quite a view. BodyAware says: An extremely provocative pair of booty shorts made from a lightweight and sleek stretch fabric with glossy industrial net insets at hip for a peek of skin. The textured net front pouch has a comfortable contouring seam down the front and is lined in a soft micromesh to allow a bit of show-through without compromising your modesty or comfort. Retails for $24.95

If you love the Industrial line head over to the BodyAware site!

Who’s your daddy? Whether it’s your biological Dad, your Sugar Daddy or some hot Daddy whose pants you want to get into, show them some love in the form of some new gear. Until Thursday, Friday 15th, all Jack Adams sports jockstraps, fetish jocks, kinky fashion jocks and mesh gym and track shorts at Jockstrap Central are 25% off. Get him some new gear, your Daddy will be so proud.

Here’s some of the great gear on offer:

Jack Adams Air Mesh Gym Shorts: Perfect for the gym, but we use them for hanging out in the backyard in the hot summer, and when we say hang out, we mean it. These are the best “go commando” shorts as they’re unlined, the mesh is partially see-through and the holes provide air conditioning for your boys. Plus, the shorts are short enough and the leg openings wide enough for some “accidental” exposure. With all the big bold colors combos, wear them to this year’s Pride festival. If you do want to wear them to the gym, simply grab your favorite jock and you’re set to go.

Jack Adams Air Mesh Track Shorts: Although mesh, these shorts have a lining but don’t think they won’t get you laid. What makes these bad boys sizzling hot is simply they’re so damn short with a sexy slit up the leg for enhanced movement. Plus, the inner liner shows through the micro-mesh, especially where your bulge stretches the fabric making it VERY obvious!

Classic inspired sports jocks: Jack Adams Old School 2.5 Jockstraps and Athletic 2.0 Jockstraps: Both of these jocks are modern takes on the traditional sports jock, each awesome in their own way. Our favorite feature, however, is the super soft woven pouch – there’s no breaking these puppies in as they feel good right out of the box. The main difference between the two styles is in the waistbands: Both styles have masculine ultra-wide comfort elastics, but each with a different sports striping treatment plus the Old School waistband is 2.5 inches wide and the Athletic is just short of 3 inches. They both come in a variety of modern color choices and both should be in every jock collection.

Kinky Fashion Jocks: Punter Bodyflex Jockstrap and Gridiron Jockstrap. At face value, these are both great looking jocks but both are designed with the exhibitionist in mind. The Punter has a huge swooping hole at the top of the pouch which when worn conservatively still exposed the base of your dick but when called into action, simply use that hole for it’s true purpose and release your beast. Likewise, Gridiron is slick and stylish with beautiful detailing in the form of a drawstring, contrasting colored zipper and stunning fabric, but both those features also allow your to go partial or full-frontal.

Seriously, this is a great collection any Daddy would love, just remember to shop early for the best selection. As mentioned above, the sale ends Thursday, June 15th.

I’ll admit that one of my guilty pleasures is seeing guys bend over or raise their hands and getting a peek at their underwear waistband. To me, I love learning about what underwear other guys are wearing. Interestingly, waistbands have become almost a status symbol, with companies trying to make their waistbands stand out as the focal point of any pair of underwear. If you’re looking to impress with your waistband, these are brands and pairs that will definitely do the trick.

Calvin Klein – Iron Strength

This is one of my all time favorite pairs, and the waistband is a lot of the reason I like it. Fitting with its name, all of the waistbands in this line are bold and masculine. It has the legendary Calvin Klein name in the front and six horizontal lines running around the rest of the waistband. Overall, it kind of reminds me of racing stripes, which definitely makes a statement.

Saxx – 3Six Five Boxer (Charcoal Polka Dot)

I always think of Saxx when I think about waistbands, and one particular pair stands out to me. Like the previous pair, it has the brand name and then horizontal stripes, though these are red, white, blue, and gray stripes of different lengths. It’s a nice contrast and it makes this pair of underwear.

2(X)IST – Graphic Modal No Show Brief (Black)

This line has a lot of different types of waistbands, and my favorite has to be the black pair. Though the pair is solid black, the waistband has a unique pattern that reminds me of leopard print but isn’t overpowering. It overall gives up a luxurious vibe that is indicative of the brand.

Andrew Christian – Trophy Boy

This is a classic example of a statement waistband. It exudes confidence and sexiness and anyone who sees it would likely agree. The word “trophy boy” written in bold capital letters against the black waistband conveys a clear message that you’re a guy who is assertive and strong. This is a waistband I always try to show off when I’m wearing it.

Emporio Armani – Magnum

This line’s waistband comes in different colors, but the common theme between them is the two-tone horizontal stripe and Emporio Armani written with the signature eagle logo in the middle. The coolest part is how the font changes to be the opposite color when it crosses the line between the two tones. As fans of Emporio Armani know, this is one of the classiest brands on the market today, and this waistband shows that. (Picture by International Jock)

I love that brands are putting more thought into waistbands. It really shows an attention to detail that elevates any pair of underwear.

Are you a fan of the skimpy barely there underwear? Well, PetitQ is a brand that if it isn’t on your radar should be! But If you’re a long time reader of UNB, we have covered them for a few years. They do some really great things in the world of men’s underwear. They have a new collection just released. We are going to show you the new collection

Undies as art? Men’s underwear, like a lot of male designer fashion, can be a work of art. It might be something to do with the weird weather in the UK, or perhaps that British men are secretly more daring than their suited-and-booted image implies, but they’re having fun with lavish colours and prints from Deadgoodundies this month.

Feeling a creative drought? Wear our co-ordinating rainbow men’s tee and body hugging hipsters and you’re sure to be back at the easel in no time!

MANSTORE M704 V-NECK T-SHIRT GBP67.00
