hawai-4997-4boxerWe haven’t forgotten about boxer brief fans! I know we have quite a few out there. One of the brands that have created a third collection from this year is Hawai. They are known for their fun prints, bright colors, and classic designs.  I can’t ever recall when they have released a third collection. It’s usually spring and fall.

Hawai is all about longer boxer briefs. Most come mid thigh. The fabrics vary from a cotton to nylon and more. They have embraced the prints trend in men’s underwear. I really love the prints they chose. Lately I can’t get enough prints. Hawai also pics some of the brightest colors in underwear. You will make a statement in these

Battle of the BulgeUNBTim did a post called “Showing A Bulge? Is It Too Much?” Before that post, Tim and I had a conversation on it, so it inspired me to join him with my own post. We both think there is a line where we personally think it is okay to show the bulge and not to. That line is pretty similar for us.

Like Tim quoted me in his post, Women have the push up bras for cleavage boosting, so why shouldn’t we be able to have some enhancement to our bulge. Now I do believe there is a point of too much for the public eye. For your partner, I say the more the merrier. I know my wife likes seeing some bulge coming from under my clothes.

I’m a bikini and thong wearer and I find that a good fitting snug pair will give a boost without them being an enhancing pair. The fact that they lift the sack up and out gives you a bit more of the bulge. Along with them keeping everything in place front and center.

Personally I don’t really pay much attention to my bulge factor. I haven’t come across any awkward situations related to showing a bulge. None of my pairs are what I would call enhancing. Yes, some of my underwear pouches do give more lift than others.

I think the bulge factor comes down to intent. I see giving yourself a little boost to the package as a way to increase confidence, which is an enhancement plus. If your sole purpose is just to show off and get the biggest boost possible then I see that as a negative. Yes, it is fine to show off to your partner or maybe clubbing. Most other times I don’t think it is necessary.

My biggest pet peeve with bulge showing off is with swim briefs or smaller swimwear. Enhancing the bulge in swimwear is one of the biggest things that I think is hurting their acceptance. People seem to have a hang up on the male anatomy being accentuated by lycra and defining it more is just making it worse.

To bulge? or not to bulge? is the end question. To that I say use common sense. Bulge at the appropriate times and places. Do not over enhance and hurt the image of men’s bikinis, thongs, and other undies along with the swim brief. There still is a long ways to come in their acceptability and inappropriate bulging can set them back even more.

is_feather_brf_grey_161020134921aussieBum is really putting out a lot of different lines right now, or as they call them ranges. The one of the newest is the FeatherLite range. This is their version of the seamless underwear. If you’re a fan of seamless, this is made to aussieBum’s standards!

The official description is:

As light as a feather and much softer on the skin, aussieBum’s new FeatherLite undies take comfort to a whole new level. With aussieBum’s seamless technology FeatherLite has no internal stitching meaning zero irritation. Available now in brief and hipster with limited edition waistband in three essential colours. Get them now!

The FeatherLite line consists of a brief and hipster. Both classic cuts for aussieBum. Each one has a gray branded aussieBum waistband. The colors are black, white and gray. These are core colors. Which I think really work in this line. Most seamless underwear collections tend to stick to the classic color palate.

The line is made out of a 95% Nylon/ 5% Spandex blend. Making it the perfect fabric for a seamless collection. It will give the support you need. Note, they mention that if you want the logo centered in the front, the logo placement may vary from pair to pair.

If you’re a fan of seamless underwear, definitely give the aussieBum FeatherLite collection a once over!

tt-joe-snyder-pride-frameI don’t consider myself a thong guy. Well, not to the extent of many of you guys out there. It’s not my go to style or even second style. This past weekend I set out to look into the thongs I have loved and still do. Many of my first favorites are no longer being made. But, there are many more pairs that are still being made. One of them is the Joe Snyder Pride Frame Thong.

I loved the Pride Frame bikini and of course the next step was the thong. Back, when the line came out I got to review most of the line. From the Trunk, bikini and thong. The Thong has become one of my favorite thongs in my underwear drawer. The reason is the pouch. The Pride Frame pouch, is made to be a big bigger than the traditional Joe Snyder thong. The way it is made it is, as the name suggests, frames your pride. The trim goes around the pouch. This thong is the perfect mix to me of a great pouch plus an amazing back. Sometimes you have one or the other but when you can find both it’s gold!

Another thing that it scores points for is colors. It’s in really bright fun colors. White, Yellow, Turquoise, Pink, Purple, Red, and newsprint. My favorite is purple but any color in this bunch would be amazing. I may have to get a pink one shortly to match the purple and white one I have currently in my drawer. They also have a neon line that is black and the trim is a neon color. It still frames your pride nicely.

If you have tried Joe Snyder in the past and the pouch is too small. Definitely give the Pride Frame a chance, I was pleasantly surprised in the bigger pouch! It’s available from the Joe Snyder site.  Also, it can be worn as swimwear!

BRAND: Joe Snyder
PAIR: Pride Frame Thong
COLORS: White, Yellow, Turquoise, Pink, Purple, Red, and newsprint
FABRIC: 80% nylon 20% lycra material
SIZES: Small – X-Large
COST: $25.00

jorI have said it before and every new collection proves this, Bikinis are making a come back! One of the latest brand to make a “true bikini” is JOR. The pair is the Tayrona Bikini. A quick overview of what is a true bikini. It’s got a small waistband, minimal sides and sometimes a pouch or not. It can include a full or smaller back. This pair meets all those but with a pouch and full back.

If you have never tried a bikini, this would be a great starter pair. If, you’re a fan of bikinis, we urge you to check this pair out. It’s made out of a 96% Polyester 4% Spandex blend.  The fabric is soft and resilient, and retains shape.

The sizing is something you may need to watch on this pair. It’s made out of Columbia. Typically, these can run smaller than most US sizing. We would suggest reviewing the sizing chart before you buy. If in doubt always go a size up. If you are familiar with the brand you may know what size you are in JOR.

Available in 3 different fun colors. They are Pink, Orange and White. My favorite of the group is Pink. JOR is not afraid of making amazing colors in their underwear. This has been shown collection over collection. It’s one of the reasons I really like them. Color is an important factor in picking underwear for myself. The one thing I hope is in future collections they bring in some prints. However, these colors will be perfect for any guy out there.

If you love bikinis and bright colors. This is  a win-win for you. It’s great to see the style making a comeback! Give them a try!

to-bulge-orEarlier this month we talked about is there such a thing as “bulging too much?”  I said what I thought and I know a few of our guy may weigh in on the topic as well. In the mean time, we want to report on the survey we asked you guys in the previous post.

We asked you guys two questions. The first, when do you bulge and the second was to comment on when and why you show a bulge. Like most things on the site, our readers are a microcosm of the larger world. We had over 60 of you weigh in. And here are the results

screen-shot-2016-10-25-at-6-04-44-pm

A lot of you guys do like I do. You bulge outside of work in more social situations. Roughly 42% of you guys do this. However, we have a bunch guys, 35% who say you bulge all the time. It doesn’t matter if it’s work or social times. It doesn’t matter. 12% of you guys just bulge for your partner or significant other. 6% of you guys don’t bulge at all. Lastly, 2% chose other, not sure what “other is”.

Here is what some of you said:

  • If you’ve got it (or got it enhanced) then flaunt it.
  • Anytime you want to catch a mate’s eye.
  • To each their own.
  • They’re awesome.
  • It is fine when appropriate i.e. with your partner or spouse or even friends. Showing a bulge is almost like trying to prove your manhood in an in your face way. All men have them but I don’t think it is necessary to flaunt your endowment. Maybe I am old.
  • there is nothing wrong with it. it’s completely natural.
  • it is no different that women and their breasts.
  • Can be fun, but not in certain venues.
  • Don’t be shy
  • Being on the smaller side, it gives confidence and that makes me feel good
  • provocative
  • DO IT! Men’s anatomy shouldn’t be shameful.
  • Do it! All the time! I’m not well-endowed, and I love it when guys bulge and show off. I enjoy it. I would do it if I were bigger.
  • I like it, in me and in others! Good for the imagination!
  • It has its place, but it’s not appropriate in a work environment.
  • LOVE IT! Think it is way god invented sweatpants!
  • You got it, flaunt it.
  • It is more about attitude and how much you flaunt your bulge that just having it there
  • It’s okay. if you have it, flaunt. But its a bit weird when it looks like a huge boner, rather than having a nice natural package.
  • I love seeing bulges!

I love the diversity of guys who read UNB. We range from show it off to only be in certain venues. Most were encouraging guys to show off. To me its your comfort level and endowment. Speaking from the guys who pack a pouch full, it can be a little much for me at times. But, if you love it, do it and be proud doing it!

401-196_cross_train_jockstrap_black-yellow_profile__40767-1474494065-1280-1280

Jocks aren’t made just for working out any more. They are now can be worn every day. One company making “every day” jocks is Jack Adams. They have taken a work out classic and turned it into a modern day designer pair. The one we chose to profile this week is the Cross Train jock.

The Cross Train Jock reminds me of a cross between a jock and a brief. I say that because the pouch has trim that reminds me of a fly on a brief. Granted, it’s not a fly but the design says brief to me. The Jock is one of the ones I like best from Jack Adams. As I said above its a designer pair and not a pair of underwear.

The Jock comes in two different colors. They are Black/Yellow and Light Blue/White. I prefer the Light Blue in the colors, but both are pretty great. Made out of 95% Cotton and 5% Elastane blend. Making it perfect for all day wear. It will move and stretch with you.

Where could you wear this pair? It can be worn in casual wear. Such as jeans and shorts hanging out. It can be worn to work as well. Meaning suits, uniforms and more. It can also be worn to work out in. The original purpose of a jockstrap!

mv-indigo-line-conseptual-photos-withlogo-4A new line in Modus Vivendi’s fall/winter 2016-17 collection has just been officially released! Modus Vivendi’s new Indigo Line is a collection of innovative men’s underwear and athleisure that’s perfect for the coming season.

The line features a subtle combination of two top-quality fabrics. Indigo denim and perforated leather look panels are meticulously combined to create strong, warm designs that are tipped to become best sellers. The underwear is in four distinctive styles: low cut briefs, backless briefs, jockstraps and boxer briefs. The athleisure segment of the line comprises a stylish tanktop, unique reversible pants and a hoodie. All the essentials!

The photographic campaign was created in San Onofre, California. Modus Vivendi again called on the highly talented American photographer Tom Cullis, who created some very powerful images inspired by the fabrics of the line and the indigo dyeing process. Up and coming model Robert Barker presents the new designs in this dramatic, masculine and sexy campaign. We hope you like as much as we do!

ergowear-max-meshew0461-3

Ergowear has been a favorite brand of mine long before I started UNB. Their pouches are some of the best on the market. My preferences are the X3D and Max. Both have amazing pouches that fit me like a glove. Pouches are where Ergowear excels in the world of underwear. The newest is the Max Mesh Collection.

The Max Mesh collection consists a thong, bikini, boxer brief and long boxer briefs. Each made out of an 89% polyester 11% elastan blend. Including the amazing Max pouch. The Max Pouch has a 3-D nose form that is anatomically shaped. This allows for plenty of room and support for any guy.

This collection is great for those who love white underwear. Each pair is a white fabric and a white waistband. You may say, this is boring, but the design is anything but boring. They are perfect for the gym because the fabric is moisture wicking. Meaning it’s perfect for working out, running or any time of activity where you want to feel cool throughout the day.

Ergowear has one of the best sizing charts on the net. It’s easy to find your perfect size. As long as you follow their guide, there should not be any sizing issues. I have never had any with the brand. Note the size chart may not match US Sizing.

cellblock-13-fusion-collection-1CELLBLOCK 13 FUSION WITH U BULGE SYSTEM AND MESH POUCH

CellBlock13 is back with another phenomenal collection filled with features that will make you VERY popular. The “Fusion” underwear collection consists of a jockstrap, jock brief and short with zippered back that can be worn either as under or outer wear (if you dare!) all with Cellblock 13’s “U Bulge” system (more below) and a pouch made of a slick n’ shiny perforated leather-look fabric which not only stretches and molds to your junk but is quite see-through where your dick and balls press up against it.

Cellblock 13 Fusion Jockstrap and Slingback Jock: Both have the contoured slick black mesh fabric pouch mentioned above. The traditional jockstrap is simple but striking with contrasting piping edging the pouch for structure and support. The Slingback is essentially a jockbrief with a paneled front. The sides are smooth black solid spandex and the front center panel, mesh also with contrasting piping edging the works. Both have solid one inch wide straps in the back.

Cellblock 13 Fusion Short is a great looking, body clinging spandex short with a dirty secret – a fully functional rear zipper for easy access. The front pouch is made with the second skin mesh as above and the rest slick black spandex. The back is where all the action happens: As expected, the black spandex continues but what’s not expected is the fully functional zipper, made not so secret as it’s in the contrasting color. And because it’s CB13 and they think of everything, the zipper is fabric backed to prevent accidents. Even better, contrasting piping edges the front pouch showcasing it and in the back runs up one leg, across the bum and down the other putting the bulls eye on full display especially when unzipped.

Of course the most important and exciting detail of the jock, jockbrief and short is the secret weapon. It may not be visible but the effect sure will be: Inside the pouch is CB13’s U Bulge system. It’s a narrow floating inner fabric U that attaches both to the top and bottom of the outer mesh pouch, the reinforced U travels down around your balls pushing your junk up and thrusting it all out so you’re always bulging to perfection. Between the thrusting and the mesh, everyone will know what you’re packing…big time.

I know it’s a lot of words so for more clarity, head to our website and our model Caleb King with show you what Fusion is all about.

Boxer Briefs are not something we cover as much as we should. Most of our guys prefer smaller cuts. That being said, Xtremen has a new collection out. It features a few briefs but for the main part of the collection are boxer briefs. Xtremen’s collections have been classic and stylish.

The new collection has stripes, solids and a few prints. They always have great colors with contrasting waistbands. It’s not a massive collection but I like what they have done. Here are the new pairs of the collection for 2016.

be-aDo you love UNB? If you do we want you to be a part of the UNB Family. We are a group of guys who love underwear and share our passion for it with you all. We each come from different parts of life and different sexual orientations. Just like our readers.

So where does your money go? First, it helps us keep running. We are using the current amount for web servers. We had to get our own server in 2011 and it’s not cheap. But, it’s definitely worth the benefits of not having to share space or bandwidth. Since we moved servers in May, our issues have been cut way down! We are very happy!

Next, it helps us replace technology. This weekend my MacBook Pro that I have had for the last four years decided to give up the ghost. Luckily I was able to get my files off it and have two backups. Yes, I plan ahead for these things, it’s not a question of if but rather when it will happen. It helps us keep our technology current and running smooth. I had a backup computer, which is a few years old, but it’s not the same.

What can you do? If we had every one of our loyal readers, around 10,000 of you, just donate one dollar. Think about what we could do for you guys. More shoots, more reviews, more writers, more EVERYTHING. Plus we add you in our Patreon Slack where you get to talk to other guys giving to the site and our editorial board. We have had some great conversations in there over the last few months.

It’s very simple. Head over to the UNB Patreon page and donate. The least amount you can donate is $1 a month (ours is set up monthly.) But you can also donate as much as you want. We won’t turn down anything you give more than a dollar. We are a group of guys like you sharing our love of underwear!

can-youSwimwear season is coming to a close soon. It’s been way too short a season for many of us. I barely got to the pool this year. I have seen many readers post pics on Instagram and Twitter of them at the beach. Many rocking a swim brief.

It got me thinking, being a guy over 40, should guys over 40 wear swim briefs. We decided to draft an expert in this field, Andrew, the owner of N2N Bodywear. If you are on his Facebook, he often posts pictures of him in swim briefs.

Let’s start with the obvious question. Should men over 40 wear swim briefs? Why or why should they not?

Absolutely. Listen…getting older is a fact of life. We can try to hold onto what we’ve got for only so long. That doesn’t mean we have to throw away what we deemed sexy, comfortable and familiar. There is the thing of age apppropriate…so instead of wearing a string bikini (like you used to) now graduate to a sexy brief. Remember, its attitude and confidence that makes the man. A beautiful body is the cherry on the sundae!
Should guys over 40 cut back on super skimpy? Or wear for their body type? Or should a guy even limit the style of swim brief he should wear?

I think. There is a time and place for everything. Judge according to the crowd. Family, friends, strangers…however bottom line is even if everyone else is wearing board shorts and you wanna wear a speedo…DO IT!

I have seen you post pictures on Facebook of you hanging with friends (I won’t judge ages from pics) but a few are probably over 40, have different body types but looks like you are having fun. Do you encourage friends to wear them?

ALWAYS! I love to put out a “spread” of suits for my guests to choose from. It’s always fun to see guys come to my home somewhat conservative and about halfway thru (with the help of libations and encouragement) get a little daring and start wearing N2N!

Has anyone ever commented to you while at the beach or pool that you shouldn’t be wearing them? If so how did you respond?

Ha…no actually …and if they did I’d throw my drink at them. Wait, who am I kidding…couldn’t waste a perfectly good cocktail!

Why do you wear swim briefs? Is it fashion, comfort, what makes them your go to choice?

I use to wear bikinis…the tinier the better…at my ripe old age I like a little bit more coverage however the fabric needs to be thin, stretchy and the pouch must have room for movement!

N2N Bodywear makes some amazing swimwear, I have quite a few pairs. Have you ever designed a pair specifically for a guy over 40 or do you want guys to wear any pair you produce?

I never set out to target a population when designing….however you can see trends in what sells…and then kinda go from there.

Lastly, have you had any customers over 40 write in and share stories about wearing your swimwear? Either for the first time or pair they love?

I LOVE people writing to me telling me how before N2N there wore boring swimwear and now after discovering, buying and wearing N2N, they have had an “awakening”. A freeing of sorts now being able to celebrate their sexuality in a whole new way.

We have a straight reader who has never worn a swim brief in public. What would you recommend be his fist pair to wear from N2N Bodywear?

Well, I always suggest going from biggest to smallest. Again it’s your comfort level. If you are NOT comfortable you will be thinking about it constantly and not be able to enjoy yourself.

So your final opinion, Should guys over 40 wear swim briefs?

Hell to the yes…and PROUDLY!

NOTE: I LOVE Andrew, he’s been a big supporter of UNB and just an amazing person! We really hope you enjoyed this post.
