What has your first year been like?
The first year of Sweat Under Gear has been a whirlwind of activity. As many people know, launching a new company is 
exciting, fun, nerve racking, and heck of allot of work. Having said that, we enjoy this so much it has hardly felt like work to us.
A few months before our official launch we sent out our first group of teaser ads featuring our now iconic Sweat model Yannick Desautels. We had no idea the buzz those photographs were about to receive. The emails came pouring in from around the globe asking when the product was going to be available.
Since that time it has not stopped for us.
We are now in several stores all over the world, we will be in an upcoming movie, we have had celebrities auction off Sweat for charity, we are in numerous calendars, fitness instructors are endorsing our product, we have been part of several model searches, been seen on several run-ways, and we have made numerous friendships with the greatest people who all care and are excited by what we are doing.

What has been the most exciting thing to happen last year?
We have been asked to be in so many events and be a part of so many interesting and outstanding ventures that is hard to pick. However, if we had to choose, there is one that we would like to point out.
Sweat Under Gear was contacted by actor Chad Allen who yearly bikes in the AIDS/LifeCycle (ALC) to support HIV and AIDS services at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. Chad asked us to donate underwear in which he would sign and auction off as part of his fund raising.
We are very supportive of charity work and jumped at the chance to help. Chad is an amazing person who really gives himself for causes he believes in. It was an inspiration to us and we thank him for letting us be a small part of it.
What has been the biggest challenge of this past year?
Being the new kid on theblock in the world of men’s underwear, we really had to prove ourselves to the many wonderful stores that now carry our brand.
We are continuing to pickup stores across the USA, throughout the UK and elsewhere in the world. Many of these stores hav
e been hit by the big ‘R’ (I don’t want to say it out loud) and we are thankful that they saw something in us that made them excited to carry our brand.
Once the brand was out there, the quality spoke for itself and the walls of that challenge started to crumble.
Of course there were a few growing pains and we learned a few lessons along the way. The Sweat poured off our brows on more than one occasion.
How is the work outline coming?
We are still in the initial stages of the Sweat Work Out line. We released the Sweat – T this past April as a little teaser of the gym wear that is to come. The response to the Sweat – T has been phenomenal and that fuels our fire to get the work out line out to you guys. We can’t make any promises but we hope it will be available in late 2010. We wear the prototypes extensively ourselves to ensure they are exactly as we want them. If not, we send them back for revisions. As you can imagine this process 
can take months but is well worth it in the end.
We are also concurrently working on the second line of under gear. I don’t want to give too much awayabout this, but drop by our website after August 01 for a little hint. Lets just say it will be big.
Are you doing anything special for your anniversary?
We are offering free Sweat- T’s. From now until Saturday July 18th, every order from our website only (www.sweatundergear.com) will also receive one free Sweat -T. We know our customers will be proud to wear the Sweat label on their chests. It is our way of thanking everyone for the support we have received.
Are you guys planning to do another calendar for this next year?
We are knocking about some other ideas in lieu of a calendar. We know, we know a collective sigh can be heard from you all. The Sweat Under Gear Club Calendar was a huge success, but now that we have done that we want to move on to something else. You know us; we don’t want to do what everyone else is doing. It seems that everyone has a calendar and we think we can come up with something even better that you will all love. So stay tuned.
Who has been your Wall of Fame Additions this year?
We are proud to have added Chad Allen to the wall. Next month we will also be adding adult film star Matthew Rush whom we will be meeting during Global Pride Vancouver. Soon we will need more wall space and that is a good thing.

What is the future plans for Sweat?
We are continuing to work with retailers to get the brand out to the all of you that are asking for it. That is our number one priority as our customers are why we are doing this.
We are also in talks with a modeling/photography company to help produce an area of our website in which our Sweat Men describe their health and nutrition routines. Almost like an online fitness magazine but based upon or Sweat Under Gear Club. It will be updated regularly so that users can return and keep learning and viewing the latest and greatest in fitness. Of course, all the models will be wearing Sweat as they show you how they keep fit. We will keep you informed as this progresses and when we expect to launch. Fitness and Sweat go hand in hand making this a natural progression to our web presence.
There is also that other ‘big’ thing that we mentioned above, but sorry guys you just have to wait for more information on that.
We wish to thank everyone for this year. The friendships that have come out of this business are a bonus we did not expect. There are so many kind and wonderful people out there who have leant their hand in Sweat for no reason other than to help us succeed. We are eternally grateful. I hope this review finds all of you guys doing well. I had the opportunity recently to sport the ever so trendy underwear from Ginch Gonch. I own their Red Bandana Jockstrap and LOVE IT! Therefore, I became very interested in reviewing a pair of their new briefs. Ginch Gonch provided a pair of the Spokey Pokey low-rise briefs for me to review. When I received them in the mail, my first thought was, “interesting”.
Ginch Gonch has a unique style that separates them from other underwear designers. It has developed underwear lines for both men and women. I feel that it has taken a classic look of underwear and given it a modern feel. I also feel that it does a great job of making underwear fun again. I think, above all else, the latter is the truest point I can make.
While reviewing the Spokey Pokey low-rise briefs from Ginch Gonch, I found them to be very satisfying. I will admit that at first, the name of the briefs threw me, but the design on them explained it all. The briefs are mainly white briefs with a classic look, but on them appears a design involving dirt bikes. This obviously lends to the name of the briefs. I found the briefs to fit pretty well. I reviewed a size large and feel that the fit wasn’t too bad, but for a guy like me, I am curious to know how the XL size would fit. As of any Ginch Gonch underwear, the material is high quality and soft. It is very comfortable for everyday wear and even for a trip to the gym. Being someone who has both a reasonably sized package as well as some decent “junk in the trunk”, I would say that the particular design doesn’t totally work well for my body type. I personally feel much more comfortable with underwear that has a more defined pouch that aids in placement and growth. I don’t know whether going up a size would solve this issue or not.
The look of the briefs is a classic but modern take on the typical briefs of the past. Along with my low-rise version, there is the classic brief version as well as trunks and a jock in this particular design. As I mentioned earlier, this particular pair, along with many others that Ginch Gonch sells, has a very fun and childlike theme. Whether they are trucks, motorcycles, or super heroes, Ginch Gonch is working hard to bring a sense of fun and playfulness back into the underwear world. It’s something we all had when we were much younger but were forced to grow out of too soon.
In conclusion, the Ginch Gonch Spokey Pokey briefs are a pretty good pair of low-rise briefs. I give them an overall rating of 4.2 on a scale of 5.

Over the past few years, we have seen a growth in the number of designers who have jumped on the glorious bandwagon of men’s accentuating underwear. In my opinion, there couldn’t be enough. The male body has been screaming since the inception of form fitting underwear for a bit more fabric and forgiveness in the front of these garments. Cocksox realized this 
need and has come to the rescue by producing briefs, boxer briefs, and thongs in underwear and a few designs in swimwear as well.
For my review, I was given the Cocksox Mesh Boxer. Before you conjure up opinions based on the single word “mesh”, take into consideration the style of the cut. It is a boxer brief which covers more or the body. Now, picture that style made of mesh material. It’s coverage on a minimal scale. They are boxers with an accentuating pouch, extremely breathable, and they give you the expected feel and fit of a boxer brief. The only thing different than the usual expectation is that it allows more air to an otherwise covered area.
My normal size in underwear is a small and these were just that. I put them on with the hesitation that they might not fit true to size, but as they were lifted into place, I was put at ease. The mesh boxer instantly won me over in the sense that I didn’t feel overly covered. I do favor the idea of minimal coverage of clothing. The pouch formed around the crotch area nicely. This aspect became better 
throughout the day.
There were two things that I would have wished were different. A band of about an inch is at the leg opening. I noticed these were a bit tight and I hoped this would counteract the riding associated with many brands of boxer briefs. I understand this is needed to secure the mesh. This may not be something most wearers will experience, but because of this tightness, the bands rolled up during the day. The other point was the tag location. When the tag is too long and sewn into the bottom of the waistband, I refer to it as “crack tag”. This is because during wear, you continue to feel the tag touching the top of your crack. It would have been better if it had been sewn onto the waistband. My easy fix to that would be to simply cut it out, but I don’t know how others feel about removing tags from their clothes.
Overall, I give the Cocksox Mesh Boxer a 4.86. I can’t say the leg opening issue will happen to anyone else. If I had worn a medium, the waistband would have been too loose which makes a small in these the perfect size. I do, however, stick with my opinion on the care/size tag.

Shopping online is easier and more private than shopping for undies in a store. I would much rather purchase undies online because of this fact. Buying anything other than boxers, boxer briefs or briefs always made me uncomfortable. I would choose my string bikini, and then try to find either a person I wouldn’t care knew (which wasn’t likely) or a U-scan register that I could use to check my own purchase.
Why was I so embarrassed by my purchase? Why did I even care if someone knew what kind of undies I wore? I don’t have a clue, but I did. I guess I didn’t want people to know my “private” business. When we lived in KY, I knew a lot of people and would run into them all over town. If they saw or knew what kind of undies I bought, they might wonder what I was wearing the next time we met (I know not a logical neurosis but what can I say?).
Being able to buy online will allow me to maintain anonymity. I can also buy whatever kind of undies I want without a care in the world as to who might know because they had to fill the order. The person filling the order doesn’t know me from anyone else in the world. Now, I can procure sheer undies, mesh undies, fun undies, or anything that might just interest me and/or my lovely wife. The only thing that is keeping me from purchasing online right now is the cost of the product as well as the shipping. In due time, I will we be in a position where I can buy what I want without having to consider this a factor.

Thongs aren’t just for the ladies anymore and I was bound and determined to prove it. I set out a couple months back to look for my very first male thong. At first, all I wanted to use it for was to maximize the amount of skin I could get tanned while laying in a tanning bed, but it soon became more. I was looking for something that wasn’t going to fall apart the first time I washed it. I continued to look at other alternatives. I noticed that the number of designer brands, adding a thong or g-string to their collections, was growing with every catalog I received.
As I was flipping through the pages, I saw a fairly new brand of underwear that UnderGear started carrying a few months before. Clever is the brand and their Basic Thong instantly caught my attention. It has a one inch waistband and comes in some fun colors. It was also inexpensive. That is something that definitely caught my eye. Since this was my first thong purchase, I didn’t want to be out a ton of money if I didn’t like it. I ordered it in lime green and size medium, which is the same size undies I wear.
When the thong arrived, I tried it on. I wasn’t impressed at all and was disappointed. Not to have been taken advantage of by my mild obsession with new undies, I decided to give it another shot during one my many trips to the tanning bed. After I had w
orn it for my 10 min tan time, I got up and realized that after a few short minutes. I didn’t notice it at all. I continued to wear it when I went to the tanning bed. This thong held up great, and was perfect for my short 10 min sessions in the tanning bed.
After a few weeks had gone by, it was no big deal and the thong fit didn’t bother me at all. I thought I would take it one step further and try it for everyday wear. I decided one morning that I was going to wear it to work. I slipped it on, took a deep breath, and off I went. I was amazed at how well it felt for all day wear. I was afraid I would find myself constantly picking at my butt, but it stayed in place and wasn’t intrusive in the slightest bit. I have worn the thong many times since then and haven’t looked back.
The biggest challenge I faced with was finding the thong that interested me.. Thongs come in many different cuts and they all wear differently. Look around and find something that is exactly what you are looking for or needing for the perfect fit. Don’t just settle on one. Many underwear designers offer thongs. Clever was a new brand for me.
