envy3

Hey guys.

This is my first review for UNB, so I hope you like it.

I was sent the Envy Logo Elastic Low Rise Jock (E001-WHT) to try out. Disclaimer: Jocks aren’t typically my thing. Sure, every once in a while I’ll get the itch to wear one, but my “go-to underwear” are briefs and maybe once a week, I’ll rock out a thong (usually for twitter #thongthursday). So,
when I got the jock in the mail, I had to remind myself to mentally prepare myself to exist outside my comfort zone to produce the most objective review possible.

envy2

The Envy Jock started out on the right foot just based on the packaging. They are boxed in a lovely, high quality package with pictures of a good-looking model wearing the item to coordinate with the front and back of the box (i.e., the front of the box had the model showing the jock from the front, and vise-versa for the back of the box). As males, it’s said that our perceptions are heavily colored by visual imagery, and I tend to agree with this. The packaging alone made me want to wear the jock.

envy1

In terms of fabrication and materials utilized, the jock was very soundly made, with clean stitching. The leg straps and waistband were produced with nice, stretchy elastic and the pouch is made from a very soft cotton/spandex blend. In the white version, the pouch is slightly sheer, as it is unlined. So you will be showing off more of your stuff than you might have originally intended, but that might be a good thing. From a design point of view, I like how the leg bands are a different color than the pouch. I like when jocks have this because it makes the underwear a little bit more special and adds an element of fashion to what had been for decades, a purely utilitarian garment.
envy5
This touch of fashion in the Envy lowrise jock, presented me with a dilemma. When should I wear these jocks to produce an accurate review of the jock? Should I wear them to work, just like a guy would do if he bought a fashion jock, or should I wear them to the gym, for a guy who would wear these to work out in? I decided to do both. I put these jocks through the ringer of a UNBSlater work day (10 hours at my desk and then 1 ½ hours at the gym). I’ll have to say, after eleven and a half hours of wear, these held up quite well. I also came to the conclusion that they are appropriate both for the office and the gym.

envy6
In terms of fit, the pouch, though fabricated of very supple fabric, is basically a flat panel, so it may be uncomfortable for some of the bigger guys out there. The jock also came in size S/M, which I’m not a fan of. Someone is going to end up losing in that equation, either the size small guy will get something a little too big, or the size medium guy will get crushed. I typically wear a size 32, and everything fit well except for the leg straps, which were less snug then I expected them to be.

envy4

Overall, wearing the jock was not a bad experience at all. It wasn’t transformational in that I’m going to wear jocks all the time now, but it was pleasant enough where I’m willing to pick up a couple more so that I can incorporate jocks into my daily rotation more often.

Here’s my summary:

Pros:

  • Nice packaging
  • Solid fabrication, quality materials utilized
  • Versatile, good for the office and the gym

Cons:

  • Pouch is a flat panel, rather than an ergonomic design, so may be snug for endowed guys
  • Generalized sizing (e.g., S/M) may produce fit issues

Shine Boxers has released their Kickstarter! This is very good new to me! I met their head guy, Rob, In Vegas last February and got a few minutes to talk to him. He told me about the brand and what he planned to do. We have talked a few times and in late August/Early September before the design contest we got to talk a bit more. He has always impressed me and I am a big supporter! As I type there I have two pairs of Shrine Boxer Briefs sitting right here. He told me he’s going to make me into a Boxer Brief Fan! We shall see!

Here is how the company got started: “It all started as I was sitting in discomfort (wedgie, swamp a*** & chafing) on a long plane ride back from an adventurous trip to Brazil. I realized I didn’t have a brand of all-around underwear and decided in that moment to create the ultimate pair of boxer-briefs and boxers. I’ve bought more underwear than I care to admit so I was already familiar with the best elements of all the different brands, but none of them met the standards for my nonstop lifestyle. I wanted underwear that would clock some serious hours of comfort all day long. But in addition to keeping me comfortable in a suit or jeans, they also had to keep me feeling fresh and secure while I was working up a sweat at Crossfit, playing ball or traveling on an epic journey. I love to work hard AND play hard, and I needed underwear that could keep up with me. ”

Now how do you help? Go to the Shrine Boxers Kickstarter and become a backer! They are an amazing company and next week I will post a review and let you know if I am a boxer brief fan now!

Infographics_Blue_FrontFirst let me say I thought I had posted this review long ago, so when I found it in my review stack I was like OMG! I had to review it right away. So to this I apologize to Parker & Pine. This brand may not be one for the majority of our readers. I say this because unlike a lot of brands their sizing starts at XL. Yup you heard me right! If you’re a medium this brand isn’t for you, they are a company that has made underwear for the bigger guy. Which is great to see!

Being the biggest guy not the site, It was up to me to review. I have about a 38/40 waist right now and wasn’t sure I would be able to wear the pair. When I held it up it looked really big. Its not often you can say this about an underwear brand that it looks bigger than the size listed. But I put it on and wore it to work. Let me also say that boxer briefs aren’t my favorite. So I was hoping they would hold up through out the day.

I wore them to work and really didn’t notice I was wearing a boxer brief. It kept everything in place and didn’t ride up in the legs. One of my biggest gripes about boxer briefs is the lack of a great pouch. This one had a good pouch. It kept me in place and comfortable all day. I was kind of impressed the fit. All too often a boxer brief, especially one a bit bigger, can go horribly awry! They list as a feature a contour pouch, I didn’t believe them but I was proved wrong!

The sizing for XL is 42/44. Which is a bit bigger than I currently am. So that had me worried but it didn’t really affect the pair. They go all the way up to size 54. So just pay attention to the sizing and you should be fine.

I want to include this form their site, their mission: The mission is simple: to help big men look their best. How are we going to do this? By creating high quality, well designed pieces that are specifically made to fit and flatter our customers – the fashion conscious big man. We’re starting with menswear basics because they determine the way the rest of your clothes look on you.

The last thing is it came in a reusable bag! I love when underwear companies so these little things. you can use it for anything you want. This really took me off guard and just made my day.

Pros:

  • Made underwear for bigger guys
  • Great fit through out the day
  • Good supportive pouch

Cons:

  • Made for bigger guys – for once its the small/medium guys who can’t get it.
  • The only style the offer is a boxer brief.

Sukrew is one of those underwear company that does its on thing! When I first saw them they were a brand who made underwear but no pouch so all your junk was just hanging out! They still have those but they have branched out into some great styles! They have a unique point of view and just make super fun pairs of underwear.

The pair we chose to profile is the FV Brief. Which is basically their take on a jock. Jocks are the one style that seems to keep going and going and more companies keep innovating and making new designs. Sukrew’s is just that a new take on an old classic. The first thing you notice is the wide waistband. Not necessarily a 3 inch waistband but still thicker than most bands on jocks today. It also has the Sukrew name in the grey band.

The cut of the pair is more like a brief than a jock. How they styled the back makes the difference I think. Its like they took a traditional brief and cut just the leg straps out of the back. So it’s still has the silhouette of a brief but the cut of a jock! This pair with the enhancing six pleat pouch it will show off everything you have!

We think you should check them out and see all the styles at SukrewUnknown-14 site! This pair retails for £19.99

We have always said real men wear pink underwear. I have loved it since as far as I can remember. The color just works in the men’s underwear world.

feels the same! They have released the limited edition CoolFlex Tagless Brief! Also, you will be noticed in this pair with the color and and trim

This pair is made out of my favorite material for men’s underwear. That fabric is Modal. Which is perfect for sports. Modal, as the AC site says, is 50% more absorbent than cotton.  Mix the fabric with the neon trim and you have a pair that just commands attention. The trim is a bright neon yellow. This past year they have been big into the neon!

One feature we have yet to mention is the most important. The pair is tagless! We have many guys out there who tags drive them crazy. You won’t have that problem with this pair. Meaning you will be comfortable all day with out a tag rubbing or irritating you!

IMG_5876Well, we have celebrated Halloween; Next up is Thanksgiving and then the biggest holiday of them all, Christmas…

I have always loved giving gifts, and I prefer to give gifts that I think is the best to give, and yes I am talking about underwear. My friends know how much I love underwear and study them. New materials, cuts and styles, and brands always catch my attention.

Anytime I can introduce something new to my friends I take great pleasure in doing so. I have been told I am great at selecting underwear that fits perfectly and provide ideal support and are also sexy.

I have always believed when you are passionate about something, you should share your knowledge and teach all who will listen. Over the years my friends have come to call on me for suggestions on all that’s new and exciting in the world of underwear.

I always enjoy watching my friends when I give them underwear. They always are excited and happy with what I gift to them. They know that the gifts are not a sexual advance but a kind gesture from one friend to another.

Later when my friends tell me how much they love their gifts, how great they look and feel on and how comfortable they are it truly makes me smile.

I think its great that we are at a point in time where giving underwear as a kind and thoughtful gift is acceptable. The stigma associated with underwear is going the way of the dinosaur.

So this Christmas, when you’re shopping for your friends, don’t hold back on that great pair of briefs, or trunks or boxers for all your friends. Think of how great it would be to unwrap a great pair from them.

IMG_6761You guys know Derek Yates, we have had in a few shoots this last year. He was in our Swimwear and up coming holiday guides! PPU_1466_salmon_1.jpg

I know we have some bare as you an wear bikini fans out there. Some of you have said how hard it is to ind really cool and skimpy bikinis. Well look no further than PPU! They have released this new bikini named the 1466 Not the most descriptive name but its super sexy and probably one of the hottest bikinis around in a while!

Thi pair has a counter pouch and super thin sides. It’s not a pair that you will see at the gym much, but I know some of you out there will wear it regardless. The back you may think would be just as small but it’s more of a full seat rather than a Brazilian cut. This to me adds to the sexiness. It shows off a lot more skin without giving it all away.

There is only one down side as I see it. The pair only comes in red. I’d love to see a lot more colors in this line. I think bikinis are making a come back and more and more companies are starting to make them. So if you are a big fan of them or want to try them, check out this great pair from PPU. Bounce-boxer-Red-SideToday I am excited to get to review the Marcuse Bounce boxer. When I first felt them I was pleased by the super soft material and the construction was very good quality. The style was a mix between retro and modern, its fun, sporty and sexy. The mix of 90% Micro Modal/ 10% Elastane fabric makes for a great pair of underwear.

When I first pulled them on and examined myself in the mirror I was pleased with the cut and fit, and especially how sexy they look on. They have a great pouch for your goods that’s supportive and comfy. The waistband has the Marcuse logo in gold with black and grey stripes.

The leg openings and waistband are snug but not binding. The material breathes throughout the day and stay snug and does not sag or droop. The front pouch offers the ideal amount of support but allows freedom of movement.

I wore these all day at work. I do a lot of lifting, walking, sitting and standing and these Marcuse Bounce boxers did not disappoint. They never caused any discomfort and did not disappoint.

One of my favorite features of this underwear is the construction of the pouch. They way it is made it creates an effect of a cock ring lifting and pronouncing your goods in a highly flattering manner.

I modeled these for a very good friend and he pointed out how great the Marcuse Bounce boxer made my goods come to life. He said he is going to have to get some pairs for his own collection.

Pros:

  • Awesome material and construction.
  • Great cut and style.
  • Comfortable, offering great support.
  • Supports and pronounces your “junk” nicely
  • Very sexy cut, fit and look.

Cons:

  • I honestly do not have a “con” to mention

Ratings:

  • Daily fit – 10
  • Sizing – 10
  • Construction/Material – 10

If you like underwear that breaks from the style tradition and is fun, flirty, comfy and sexy, the Marcuse Bounce boxer is a must have for your underwear drawer. Marcuse furnished these for review

Denim inspired underwear is a trend I see starting in men’s underwear. A few brands have come out with their own inspired denim underwear. But, aussiebum always takes underwear and makes it their own! Denim underwear is no different. Its always a design that is super sexy and flattering to a guy.

““BodyDenim” is the newest in print innovation by aussieBum. The denim inspired print is featured on the entire garment with both the body and waistband being custom engineered. The first of its kind in bringing outerwear fashion closer to your body, this product is available in both the brief and long-leg hipster styles.”

My favorite is the brief because I love how they did the pocket on the back! Plus the waistband that looks like a pair of jeans to me is super fun. I think its a job well done. Available in a pair of hipsters and brief. Made out of a 92% Polyester 8% Elastane blend. The brief retails for $30.50 and hipster is $35.50.

Find this an other pairs at the aussieBum website.

1_year_anniversary

It’s hard to believe that CR7 underwear is celebrating one year! I swear I feel like the brand has been around longer than just one year. CR7 was founded by Cristiano Ronaldo and New York-based designer Richard Chai. “Everything from the making of the various styles, the colors and the fabric has been taken into consideration by the football player and designer. ”

When first released I think many thought he was following the footsteps of David Beckham. However, after seeing the collection he has put his own style influence in the underwear. Unlike David Beckham, who’s collection is rather plain in the color department. CR7 has gone the other direction with color. They aren’t afraid and make amazing colors and stripes. Which I think is a great thing!

We have reviewed CR7 and it’s scored really well. Our Reviewer Tim said it was one of his favorite he’s reviewed for UNB. To celebrate their anniversary they are releasing a multiple set of 2-pack trunks or  4-pack socks. Check out all the pairs on the CR7 website.

pulse-wrestle-back-again

Here we go again! As most of you know, we launched these wrestling singlets back in April 2012 and completely sold out in 12 hours. It took six months to get more but they once again sold out in 3 hours. We got our third batch four months later and again sold out in a few days. We honestly thought Pulse had gone out of business as this new order was placed over a year ago and we heard nothing. Phone calls weren’t returned, emails not responded to, then three months ago, completely out of the blue, Pulse contacted us asking if we still wanted our order. We, of course said yes and they have finally arrived.

Wrestling is pretty damn hot as it is, with all those hunky guys in skin tight singlets with their prominent bulges rolling around the ground with other wrestlers grabbing them “accidentally” in all the right places. Well, Pulse has upped the ante making singlets in their signature soft 4-way stretch and totally see-through mesh showing off not only the bulge but what’s causing it. Oh, and don’t worry about that huge boner that’s sure to pop up from wearing this hot gear – Pulse’s 4 way stretch mesh can handle it.

These wrestlers now come in six patriotic versions: USA, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, Germany and Japan. Collect them all and invite your friends to your very own wrestling event, just be sure to send us the video!

As mentioned above, these wrestlers are in high demand so if you really want one, get one now as it could be months (if at all) before we get more. Unfortunately, we can’t take pre-orders so it’s first come first serve.

Be sure to check out Jockstrap Central for all the sizzling hot photos of our favorite porn star model Ryan Russell putting these wrestlers through their paces.

Unknown-12Gregg Homme is a company that really knows how to make great undies for men. So the Modalounge line was sone i was super excited to try. The line is made out of modal which is one of my favorite fabrics for underwear! Mix the briefs with the pants and to me this was a winning combination.

The first thing I will cover is the briefs. The first thing I noticed was the fabric. It was just as I had hoped it would be, very well made and felt amazing when i opened the package. So when I slid them on I knew they would feel amazing. But, there was one slight problem. And this is odd coming from a pair of Gregg Homme. The pouch was too small. At first I thought I maybe needed to adjust the pouch some. But no matter what I did it was a little snug

This is really odd for Gregg Homme. I have had pairs that I never thought would work and stretch to fit me. This was one that made me sad because I really love this pair! If you’re an endowed guy you may have a problem. If you’re average in the junk department you may not have a problem. Even with this issue I wore them to work.

I noticed the pouch issue a few times during the day. It wasn’t one of those pairs where you got “Damn I have to take these off” it was only when I did certain things. It still felt amazing through out the day. I just made sure I didn’t stretch and bend too much through out the day.

The contraction of the pair was top notch. Like all Gregg Homme they have great production and there were no issues. Sizing is another issue that was on the mark. I wear a size XL in them and in was it and in the back was great. It wasn’t tight or binding, sometimes when the pouch doesn’t fit you can have this issue.

Lets talk about the pants. The pants fit great and to me felt a little too good. They were ones I put on one morning and didn’t want to take off. The modal material was a great choice for the pants. They are amazing for loungewear. The waist didn’t bind, they fit in all the right places and I just wanted to stay in and relax in them. So I could def recommend them for anyone needing super comfy pair of lounge pants.

Pros:

  • Amazing material
  • Great contraction
  • Stylish and low key

Cons:

  • Too small a pouch
  • Some may like the wilder designs of Gregg Homme
