The tag line of the campaign is “When dreams become reality.” You will see the models blending into the background in the lifestyle images they have released. The picture above is set in the Wild West, which is a bit of a departure from the Greek heritage, but they still keep their unique take on undies!

Find this and more on their site. Here is their write up for the collection:

Let the self you dream of become reality with Modus Vivendi’s new campaign, Dreamland. Igniting images of men, idols and heroes that fascinate and excite, Dreamland presents some of the world’s most coveted male characters, and invites you to become one of them. Be what you dream.

papi_08You either love or hate animal prints. I have sort of a love hate relationship myself. Some of the prints are amazing while others are a miss. If you fall into the second part of that we may have an animal print you may love. Papi just released the new Wild Thing collection. It’s available in a jock and trunk. The jock is what we are going to be covering.

The Wild Thing collection is a solid fabric with a cheetah print in the same color. So the print is very slight and not over the top. It adds a bit of style to what would be a solid color. I think they did a great job coming up with this collection.  This is because it will allow more guys to step outside their solid underwear box and try something a little more wild!

The jock is a traditional jock. The waistband is a grey 1 1/4 inch branded with the Papi logo in the center. Legs straps really can make or break a jock, this pair has a 3/4 inch leg straps that match their other jocks in their line up. Lastly is the material, it is made out of a 63% Nylon / 32% Polyester / 5% Spandex fabric.

Colors are key to this pair and they have just released four bright fun colors. Those colors are Black, Intensity (Red), Purple and Storm Blue. My favorite is the Black. When you think of a black pair you’re expecting solid dark black. This is more of a grey with the cheetah print.

Papi really created something out of the ordinary with this pair. Hats off to the creativity for this one. It goes along with our philosophic that underwear should be fun and add to your wardrobe. This one would do that and would be great under jeans or even under a suit.

As we stated it’s available in a Brazilian Trunk as well. The jock retails for $28.00 on the Papi site.

vizeau-weekDays of the week underwear is something you think of when you’re younger. It’s a cute way to get When you get older you don’t  need a reason to change underwear. We have readers who change their underwear 2-3 times a year. I remember one reader who wore a pair in the morning, then changed at the gym, and then changed after the gym into another pair.

Vizeau has released a new collection called “Days of the Week.” Which is the most conservative style I have seen from the brand! Usually their pairs  super skimpy and those who dare to bare and almost show off everything. The new collection is a series of boxer briefs with the days of the week on the waistband. Each one is sold separately, so you can buy your favorite day or get a few!

I Love that that each day has a different color and waistband. It’s not so cookie cutter. Most of our readers want unique and fun underwear, so a brand that makes it all the same is not one you guys would be interested in. Its just enough difference to make the pairs stand out. Each boxer brief/trunk is the same cut but a different main color.  On top of that is a tailor made waistband with the name embroidered in to the fabric.

Just by the picture it looks as if each pair does have a defined pouch. So, they took some time to include their style into the pair and not make them so plain. The accent around the pouch also will set off and accent your pouch.

If you have wanted to try Vizeau and didn’t want to go for something wild now is the time to check them out! Also, if you’re a fan of the brand and want to have something you can wear to the gym, they just may have something for you now! Find this and more at the Vizeau site.

Clever 5190 Calipso Mesh Latin BriefWhat is sexier than mesh undies? Not a whole lot in my opinion. You can get the pairs that leave little to the imagination or those who give a hint of whats underneath. The Clever 5190 Calipso Mesh Latin Brief is the later! It will show enough of whats underneath but not give everything away!

The first thing you notice about the pair is it comes in a light green. Which in itself is not a color you see typically in mesh undies. However if you want a more traditional color it is available in black. But, if your’e like me you prefer something different and fun in your undies and would definitely go with the green.

As you notice on the pictures the green pair has a grey waistband with Clever written in the same green. While the black is solid black, including waistband with Clever written in blue. The black does appear to be a bit more see through. So keep that in mind when making a selection.

The two pairs are made out of a nylon/spandex stretch mesh. So it will conform to your body and keep things well in place. This also means it will feel great against your skin. I prefer a fabric with a higher spandex percentage. This pair has 25% spandex in the fabric composition.

Other factors that make this a good pair are the low rise style and pouch. The pair has low rise design that is great wearing under jeans. Meaning the waistband won’t show over the top. There are some readers who will not like this and love to show off their undies. The second is the way the fabric is cut it creates a contour pouch. So it will give you great support through out the day.

If you’re up for some really fun mesh underwear we suggest you give the Clever 5190 Calipso Mesh Latin Brief. It is part of the Spring 2014 Collection from Clever and should be at stores now!

Frank Dandy SocksYou think it would go hand in hand with undies, but for me it’s been a recent thing I have added to my underwear love. Socks have come into their own in the last year or so. The world of socks has EXPLODED. When you used to go to the department store to find just black, brown, maybe grey and white. All pretty basic and rarely did you find something fun.

Flash forward to 2014 and Frank Dandy has released a whole line of Bamboo Socks. I got the chance to try them and to be honest I wasn’t expecting too much. I mean, it just seemed to me that “they were just socks.” I”m a simple guy and usually wear white ankle socks or longer athletic sock. This will change after trying these.

First thing is the bamboo fabric just felt amazing. Better than any cotton or nylon sock I have tried before. They were comfortable and breathed like no other sock I have had before. It felt like I wasn’t wearing socks at all.

The next thing that I loved was the color. I realized that I can now wear them to match my shirt or even undies. Usually when I wear a suit I try to match the underwear with my tie. I know some of you are going, why bother but others our there get it. I don’t always do it but I try too! Now throw in socks you can add a whole new level of matching. I wore the red ones with my blue high top Chuck Taylors. Which really set the shoes off.

Socks are moving to the forefront of men’s fashion. Frank Dandy just has solids but other markers are doing patterns, polka dots or stripes in super fun colors. So you can show more personality with your socks in a way you can’t do with underwear. I say this because very few people see your underwear but more can and will see your socks. It’s Super fun.

Let us know who your favorite sock maker is. Also if you need great socks go check out the amazing Frank Dandy. I have 4 pairs and love them!

ab-wonderjock-rawAre you a fan of the aussieBum Wonder Jock line? If you’re not familar the Wonder Jock (WJ) line, it did to men’s underwear what the Wonder Bra did for women’s undies. The WJ takes what you have and enhances it. To do this the it has a pouch to put your goods in and the WJ does the rest! See the pictures below to see how this is made into the brief and hipster.

aussieBum has now created a jock brief and jock boxer brief. Each style has the traditional cuts of the brief and trunk, but the back is cut out. I believe this if one of the first jock briefs they have done. One thing I really love about this collection is the green color. It’s by an far my favorite color and very few undies companies make green underwear. The official names of colors offered are: lagoon Forest, Chocolate, Burgundy and deep purple. Also made with the signature aB logo wasitband.

If you’re interested in these pairs the brief retails for $21 and the trunk/hipster is $24. You can find these and more at the aussieBum website.

How does one find out they are an underwear nut? I suppose for me it began when I was probably 14 or 15 years old. I was discovering that I was gay and living in a part of the country where homosexuality was not heard of and definitely not acted upon. So being secluded from all things gay I was left with catalogs and newspapers to satisfy that need to see a guy’s physical form. What began with JcPenny catalogs and weekly flyers from Shopko, quickly grew into an obsession (on Twitter @undieobsession). The next thing I remember entering into my life was pack of Hanes bikini briefs I got from Shopko. Now, I could not get them at my local store, so I had to travel to a neighboring community to purchase them. This had to wait until I had my driver’s license too.

Once I could I drive to places on my own, my ability to seek out different underwear was ON! The first brand I remember truly seeking out was BVD. I saw an advertisement somewhere and the image on the package made me realized I had to have those! So as I began my search for them I knew it was something that would never end with just this pair. Once I acquired the BVDs I knew very quickly they were nothing more than another style similar to Hanes or Fruit of the Loom. What I saw in that package though, ignited something that would carry on to this day.

bvd-underwear-1040cs032112My hunger for underwear subsided as I enter the straight world of the US Military. I could not be seen wearing what I truly wanted to wear as I was walking around the barracks in boot camp. I feared that if I wore what I wanted I would be outed or judge.

So I strategically started wearing boxers. I know, how straight!? As my military career grew on I became more comfortable again with the idea of wearing boxer briefs and quickly trunks. I exclusively shopped for Calvin Klein (CK) underwear. I was very particular and would only wear CK. I think that image of a young Michael J. Fox in his pink CKs in Back to the Future: Part 1 was to blame for this long lasting obsession with CK. It took several years before I began to venture away from CK.

If I remember correctly the first pair of none CK underwear I purchased was a pair of Tommy Hilfiger boxer briefs. About that same time I also purchased a pair of Tommy Hilfiger briefs for my boyfriend. He pulled them off just as well as the guy on the package. It was so much fun to dress him in underwear I thought were sexy and fun.

I am glad he allowed me the freedom to do it. I have not stopped dressing up my guys in underwear I find sexy or fun. Whenever I buy a pair for myself I usually buy a pair for my boyfriend.

The time has passed and my underwear knowledge and collection has grown. Today I own a total of 290 pairs of underwear. A combination of briefs, trunks, bikinis, and the one odd pair of boxer briefs. I have also started a collection of jockstraps, which now number 67 pair. I will delve deeper into this as we become better friends.

My closet also contains a collection of fun swimsuits. I have 30 of those as this point. Yes, all numbers are exact! This whole obsession would not have been possible had I not start with that package of BVDs. I am thankful everyday for passion I have developed. It has and will continue to be fun. I look forward to seeing all the new styles, designs, color patterns, and whatever else underwear companies can come up with. I also look forward to sharing this love with you all.

Garcon-Model-SS2014-WatsonI got a chance to meet the guys behind Garcon Model, Patrick & Mehdi. Both really amazing guys with a big passion for underwear. They told me a little about the line and now its out! If you remember they did a Kickstarter campaign for the collection. I will be reaching out for more info about the collection and bring you more. Here is the press release we recieved:

Canadian underwear brand Garçon Model returns with a second collection for Spring/Summer 2014 continuing its quest to offer premium men’s underwear with a bold aesthetic.

Garçon Model has quickly positioned itself as one of the most sought-after new male bodywear brands. Its fresh colour palette and instantly recognisable logo demand attention with classic styles that are familiar, and a quality that is superior.

The brand’s popularity was put to good use in December 2013 when it called upon the support of its customers and fans to help raise investment to the sum of $10,000 using crowd-sourcing website Kickstarter.

The campaign saw backers pledging over double the target goal in just over a month of the launch. This money was re-invested into market research, product development and an increased product offering to ensure that the brand continues to strengthen over the coming months.

With much anticipation for the follow-up collection Garçon Model drew inspiration from Miami, playground of the rich and famous, for Spring/Summer 2014.

From the bright lights of Ocean Drive and Art Deco pastels of South Beach to the energy of Downtown Miami, Garçon Model presents an unashamedly vibrant range of 17 colours and styles for the season ahead.

The iron-free microfiber range of form fitting briefs, trunks and boxers all boast the iconic Garçon Model waistband that is guaranteed to add a pop of colour or flash of style to any outfit.

“There is something really celebratory about this collection and we feel that is reflected in the designs. Men’s underwear really needs a refreshing splash of colour and by taking inspiration from Miami we were able to bring a sense of elegance but with a vibrant twist. Our primary goal is to help men look good and feel sexy without compromising comfort.” – Patrick Lafontaine, co-founder of Garçon Model.

All-American male model Tyler Kenyon becomes the face of Garçon Model for SS14 with a series of campaign images and film shot on location in Miami by photographer Daniel Jaems. Sport loving Tyler, who has been shot by some of the world’s top fashion photographers, personifies the masculine, sexy and universal appeal of Garçon Model range.
