  • Daily Fit: 10/10
  • Sizing: 10/10
  • Construction: 10/10
  • Styling: 9/10

Pros: Fun, bold color, good/compact sizing, great durability.

Cons: No overwhelming cons.

UNB Tim recommendation: A great pair if you’re looking for a big more room up front! Super comfy and feels great throughout the day.

Junk Underjeans is a brand we have been friends with for a while. They are always at Magic in Vegas. They are a brand we need to cover more. The last time we reviewed them was a few years ago. They have grown and evolved over the last few years. I am loving what they are doing. We have underwear and activewear reviews coming your way soon.

The pair I am reviewing is the Junk X Burn Brief. This is the first time I have worn Junk UnderJeans. I was really excited to try the Junk X line because the line has a larger pouch. Its not a super large pouch but it’s definitely larger than the average. I slid them on and I didn’t have that magic moment when you slide on underwear that you felt was made just for you. It felt like a good pair of briefs. The pouch seemed just ok to me.

productview2-341It wouldn’t be till later that I would appreciate the pouch. The fit in these were very good. You can tell they designed these for guys to wear on a daily basis. As the day went on I totally forgot what I was wearing. To some this maybe a bad thing but not for me. If I wear a pair of underwear and forget I have them on it’s the sign of a great pair.

I wore these on a day when I knew I would be a bit active. I worked my part time job, that is a bit more active than my usual day. They held up really well with the lifting and driving I had to do that day. You definitely can wear these for a lazy day or an active day. I would dare say that these to the gym for great support.

The sizing of Junk UnderJeans is pretty spot on. In fact in certain lines they are making an XXL. These are just up to an XL. Which by happens to be the size I got. I’m still working my way back down to a large. It fit pretty well. It wasn’t too tight or too loose. The sizing across the board on Junk UnderJeans are pretty consistent. You should have no issues with them in sizing.

Some things I really liked about this pair is first the fabric. it’s a 90% POLYESTER/10%SPANDEX blend. I really loved the 10% spandex most. It gives it some great stretch. Next, is waistband. This isn’t a totally branded waistband but has the Junk X line name across the band. As for things I don’t like, there aren’t a lot. I was super happy with the pair. I would say that they could make the pouch a big bitter, but as it is snug but not too snug.

CONS

  • Legs straps are a bit thick
  • Leg openings were a bit tight for me

Back in the saddle and this time I’m reviewing the N2N Spartan Jock.  N2N is one of favorite brands so I wasn’t expecting anything less than another A+ pair of undies.  The Spartan line runs the gamut from thong and jocks to briefs and trunks.  I received grey/orange but they are also available in mint green/yellow and white with red & navy accents.  When I first opened the package I immediately loved the color combination and the fun, Greek-inspired waistband.  I’m a pretty simple guy but a little flair here and there is a nice touch.  The fabric is 95% cotton and 5% spandex so it’s very soft and has a good amount of stretch.  I did expect this to be a “fun” jock rather than an actual gym jock mainly because the leg straps are quite thick and closer to an assess briefs, which in my experience is not very practical for exercise.

I kept thinking of a day to wear these and was putting it off and then realized I needed to get this review in ASAP so I ended up wearing them all day at work.  Certainly not my plan but there is something fun about being “forced” to wear something…but that’s for a different blog, I suppose.  These actually held up a lot better than I would think for a work day and I actually think they’re better suited for regular wear than active wear.

I wore a medium and they fit well.  The size chart says it covers 30”-34” which is a pretty big range.  I’m generally a 31-32 and was fine but I think if you’re a 34, they might be a bit snug.

My favorite features of the Spartan Jock are definitely the nice fabric and the fun waistband.  I loved the color I received but the others look great, as well, and I definitely want to try the thong and brief.  N2N is great about having simple, modern designs but also offering things with a twist when you want to step out a little – or a lot.  I could have used a bit more stretch in the leg area but I’ve got tree trunk legs so a good portion of that issue is just me.  The “straps” are also pretty thick and did gather every so often but it wasn’t really a problem.  The pouch is supportive and shows things off the right amount for me.

I must admit that jocks and assess briefs are never my go-to underwear and yet I have several of both.  When comparing these to the others, they definitely rank in the top 3 or 4 – not just in the style department but they were actually more comfortable that I was expecting and ended up being a nice surprise.   I also got a surprise when a coworker saw the waistband and made a comment about the pattern.  He knows I’m into undies so it wasn’t out of line but did perk me up a bit when I realized this pair will get a nice reaction!   🙂

Undies Rock Recommendation: This may be on the slightly pricier side for a cotton brief but the style and cut will not let you down. This pair will leave you feeling and looking great

Hey underwear fans, it’s been a while since I’ve been at it. I got a little consumed with my personal and work lives but I’m glad to be back with some kick ass reviews. I’m really excited for the next few reviews I have lined up because they are for one of my favorite local brands, N2N!

Right now, I have for you the RS1 Indy Racer Brief by N2N in white.  Let’s start off by saying this brief is all pouch and butt!  As you might assume from the name, the brief is more on the sporty side. The thin breathable material is comprised mostly of cotton (90%) and with 10% spandex for extra movement and snug fit. The design is breathable with a single-ply, slightly transparent design. N2N’s “patented” Xtreme pouch design provides just enough support for your package. It allows for great comfort especially for those who are well endowed. Without being over restricting. The cup acts as its own protective barrier by isolating your package. Preventing it from chaffing.  This is a huge plus in my book, as having a pouch where the sides don’t stretch out is essential.  I will also add that the pouch has more of an anatomical and slightly narrow fit. With a center seam (always a turnoff).  One of my favorite aspects of the brief is the cut of the butt. It’s a mid-coverage, saucy design that sits low on the waist. It has a snug tight fit and doesn’t stretch out and lose its form or move around during the day.  I test drove a medium, which is rated for a 30-34 inch waist.  I am roughly a 33 inch waist, and like I said this brief is right on point.  The butt is super secure, and pouch has well defined perimeter with an anatomical vibe.  The construction is rock solid, and they have held up quite well to numerous washes.  Ultimately you can’t go wrong with a great tight fitting pair of white briefs.  They are so basic and always hit the spot!

The cotton construction has a sporty vibe. The two contrasting racer stripes on the sides and supportive cup. If you are a fan of exercising in cotton underwear, you will definitely dig this pair. Otherwise, it’s just an overall awesome pair for most activities, including long work days.  Personally I like this brief for lounging around for its comfy and sexy style.  If you are a more conversations underwear fan but are curious about edgier styles. This Indy Racer Brief is a perfect introductory pair. The style includes 2 inch sides and as mentioned before, low rise, mid coverage design.

The Indy Racer Brief comes in three colors. It has contrasting stripe/stitching options. The colors are white with blue, navy blue with yellow, and heather gray with orange. All of them look sweet and are sure to be winners. This pair can be found on the N2N website at $22 each. This may be on the slightly pricier side for a cotton brief but the style and cut will not let you down. This pair will leave you feeling and looking great!

Pros: Super soft material. great fitting. Amazingly comfortable.
Cons: Not everyone likes loungewear, If not wearing undies you can show off everything.

UNB Tim recommendation: If you want super comfortable loungewear, this is the pair for you. N2N Bodywear makes amazing loungewear as well as swimwear

Loungewear is not something we cover enough on the blog. Its something most guys either like or don’t like. I will be the first to admit that before UNB I was never a loungewear guy. I would throw on a pair of shorts or hang out in my underwear. After almost 8 years on UNB, I have discovered how amazing loungewear truly can be. Sure we all love to hang out in undies, but there are those times when you can’t. Maybe its a trip with friends/family, having guests at your home or you just need a cover up to answer the door.

The Dream line from N2N Bodywear has a brief, hoodie, pant and robe. I have a pair of the N2N Lounge Pants. Which is the “lounge” line from N2N. It’s a little confusing. I loved these because they were so comfy. I wanted to try more of the loungewear from N2N. These pants really didn’t let me down. When I put them on they felt great. The first time I put them on I wore them without underwear. Well that may not be the best thing around others. It made certain things very noticeable. If you’re with your partner or alone this is fine. You may not want to do this around others. The second time was with my Studio Groove briefs and it was fine.

I love the fabric of this line. The Dream line has a 92% polyester / 8% spandex. The fabric is super soft and has some good stretch to it. These are a bit loose and the spandex gives it a little bit of stretch where you need it. These are currently my favorite lounge wear. Yes, I have been working on UNB many times while I”m kicking it in my N2N Dream pants.

Sizing for loungwear runs different that underwear. The waist isn’t the only factor. The length of the pants are important too. You don’t want to seem like you’re running out to go clam digging. I received and XL and the waist was fine and the length was great. Being 6’4″ sometimes pants can run short. These didn’t and I was very happy.

These were great to wear. I need to get an entire sex of the Dream line. They are amazing pants and if you’re in the market for new lounge pants check these out and not those flannel ones. These are perfect especially for summer. They are lighter and a lot more fashionable.

  • Styling: 8/10

Pros: A great swim brief cut and fun, eccentric pattern

Cons: Tight in the bum and revealing for those with very defined bits.

Beau Briefs recommends: This is a fun pair, great for a day at the beach or time in the hot tub.

Okay apparently I need a smaller bum. Here is my one, wah wah, thing to say about this: my bum makes the pair a bit too tight. Now the reason I am saying this upfront is because this has much more to do with me than it does the actual pair itself. So, let’s just get it out of the way now. My butt fills out the suit and as such the seams along the lower cheeks bite a little bit. That’s all, that’s it: the big wah wah. The other minor thing (close your eyes if this reads as too much info) I have fairly distinct lines down in the bit and berries so sometimes fabrics that aren’t thick enough show everyone my religion.

Now! On to all of the good and lovely stuff about this swim brief by NSN.

N2N is bringing back some fun and crazy patterns, starting with this Stellar Sport. It comes in four distinct patterns/color combos. Now on the website it’ll be called Stellar Navy Turquoise. I prefer to think of it as Stellar Interconnected Super Highway, but mostly cause I’m a dork. It’s a fun pair with crazy colors that makes you think a bit of Tron, in a good way. Plus there is the fun turquoise cut of fabric that breaks up the pair in a flirty way.

The cut is my favorite. Give me a classic swim brief/speedo cut any day of the week! Heck, give me two! I love when pairs have a good amount of space up

front and cut wide enough but also high enough on the sides of the pouch. Give me just 1-1.5 inches (wait for it) of material around the top part of the thigh and I’m a happy camper. That’s just what the Stellar does, it cuts higher up the leg to really show off the pouch AND show off the legs.

Since it is N2N I do have to bring up one thing. I don’t have to bring up a thing about the fabric selection. It’s true, I have yet to try on a pair of N2N where the fabric blend was not amazing. No comfortable, scratchy, or annoying feeling pairs ever come out of that place. This pair is no different.

Despite the tightness of the bum for me I did rock this pair out on one of the glorious Seattle beaches. Okay parks next to the water that we call beaches…stop laughing. I was with friends a few Saturdays ago in our 90-degree weather (yep, go Seattle). Everyone complimented the pair, the fun-ness of the fabric and how it looked, because a tightly squeezed bum is nice to look at. So the day was a hit and so was the N2N Stellar Swim Brief. And once I find a friend with a hot tub. I will be in that tub so quickly with a glass of wine and this swim suit that heads will spin, jaws will drop, and jealousy will rage.

The N2N Bodywear Lounge Briefs were furnished by N2N For Review

Rating: 7.8/10

  • Daily Fit: 8/10
  • Sizing:  7/10
  • Construction: 8/10
  • Styling: 8/10
  • Daily Performance: 8/10

Pros: Looks good, neat flourishes.

Cons: Not the most breathable or streachy.

Underweardude Recommendation: If you are looking for an interesting, non ergonomic pouch. A skimpier cut brief with bit of personality to it. Give this pair a try.

Hi  all, Underweardude here. Today i’m reviewing an interesting pair. N2N sent this pair for review. When I first saw the N2N Lounge brief, I was intrigued. For a few years now N2N has been making pairs with the idea of them being good for sleeping. Or lounging around the house in. Is the lounge brief good for lounging around the house in, and can it handle a full day as well? Read on to find out.

Made from a 95% Rayon, 5%Spandex, blend, the pair is quite soft. The material has some stretch, but not a whole lot. It doesn’t matter too much, except that it makes the pouch w little more restrictive at times. Speaking of the pouch, this pouch is not the N-hance pouch that N2N is known for. Rather, it is a contoured pouch where the center vertical seam is only on the bottom half of the pouch.  Very similar to the Almost Naked line by Andrew Christian. N2N calls this a seamless front pouch.  So if you were looking for a pair to really showcase your goods, look elsewhere. The pouch is fine, and I feel like this kind of pouch is better fitting for this pair. You aren’t trying to show off, you are just hanging out. Construction and sticking is up to N2N’s usual high standards. Though in some places on the inside elastic can be slightly seen, but that’s not a deal breaker.

This pair is also different from many past N2N pairs due to the adornment the pair carries. The size/care tag is an almost chocolate gold,. Rather than the usual plain white.  Which I have never seen before on an N2N pair. A small branded tag sits on the right hip of the pair as well. Metallic grey with that same gold forming the lettering. It looks nice, but I’m not quite sure why the outer logo tag was necessary, as much of what N2N makes isn’t branded. Still, it is an interesting touch.  That does help to make an otherwise black brief interesting.

The cut helps make this pair different as well. While called a brief. It’s barely there waistband and high cut legs make it practically a bikini brief. I wasn’t a huge fan of the look at first, but it’s grown on me. The pair sits just right on the hips, too. Not too low, not too high. I am a fan of the thin, stylish waistband. You almost don’t notice that its there when you first see the pair. The back is basically a normal full back that you would expect from a brief.  Though on me I found the lower part to be slightly too small, but just. The size small pair I received was a little bit tighter than N2N usually is at first. That may be due to the midwestern diet I had on my recent vacation. I am also right in that dead zone between S and M, so sizing is kind of a crap shoot for me.

I wore the Lounge Brief on a somewhat busy weekday with a meeting and long hours of work, and it worked pretty well. My only real complaint is that it isn’t the most breathable pair. Not unbreathable, but I wouldn’t wear this pair to go exercising in either.

So how does the pair do when living up to its name and lounging about? Well, I’m not one for lounging around in just my underwea.  I don’t think you really need a particular pair for that. The pair performs admirably in that regard. I tend to think for that you would want something comfortable but still looks good, and the Lounge Brief hit’s that mark. This pair will definitely be worn again. I think it is a fine pair for everyday wear, and will be going into my everyday drawer.

DC5-16-26N2N Bodywear furnished the DC5 SLIK G in a nice rich deep teal color for review.

Rating: 9.4/10
Daily Fit: 9/10
Sizing: 10/10
Construction: 10/10
Styling: 9/10
Daily Performance: 9/10

Pros: Great back cut
Cons: No real cons, but only available in 4 colors

I’m pleasantly surprised with the fit of the DC5 Slik G thong (furnished by N2N Bodywear). I was a little concerned about the pouch being too roomy after my experience with the N2N Vintage G, but the Slik G’s pouch is right on to my liking. N2N calls it a seamless front pouch, which is the look that it gives you of a smooth front pouch. The pouch does have some stitching at the base of the pouch to give it some contouring.

I really like the back cut of this thong. It’s a little skimpier than a traditional cut thong where the sides come to create the tail. You know where you get the triangle right above the cheeks. How it is cut, you don’t have a lot of fabric between the cheeks at the top. The tail is a pretty consistent width all the way down through the cheeks. You still get the sexy traditional thong look for your backside with the Slik G. You do feel you have a thong on with these. I think it is part to the thickness of the elastic that is used, but it’s still comfortable. They just give you the reminder you are a stud in a thong.

Here’s some specifics about the thong. The thong feature a small N2N logo tag on the right hip. I find this refreshing from the blazing elastic waistbands promoting brand names. The tail is about 7/8″ wide and the sides are about 1″. The pouch does seem pretty supportive. I’d consider wearing them for something active like sports. They’re made out of 92% polyester and 8% spandex, which gives them a silky or satiny feel with some stretch. The N2N brand is made in Los Angeles. It’s available in 4 colors: brown, teal, dark gray, and slik sand.

Only modification I’d make to the thong is a little narrower front pouch. That would not stop me from getting the thong in another color though. Overall this is a great fitting thong and I would recommend giving one a try.

EW0233_Turquoise_1Ergowear Pouches—A UNB MINI-SERIES

Part III: The X3D Pouch

PART III: The X3D Pouch

Candyman Fashion furnished the X3D BIKINI by ERGOWEAR for review.

Rating: 10/10

  • Daily Fit: 10/10
  • Sizing: 10/10
  • Construction: 10/10
  • Styling: 10/10
  • Daily Performance: 10/10

Pros: Super soft fabric, great golden waistband, anatomical pouch

Cons: Couldn’t find a thing to complain about.

SALVATORE Recommendation: I was excited the day my Ergowear Review package arrived in the mail. I get new underwear quite often, but there is something exhilarating about receiving a brand you’ve never tried before. Ergowear has long been considered the “gold standard” in anatomically or ergonomically correct pouches by most experts. This begs the question that if I consider myself an underwear expert, how in the world had I never tried Ergowear? I’ve come to realize that sometimes even the most experienced underwear enthusiast misses something incredible.

As I carried the package inside, I went through my normal new underwear routine. I wen to my bathroom, opened the package, and enjoyed a few moments of solace with new arrivals. The first pair I pulled out was the FEEL SUAVE BIKINI. The second pair I pulled out was the MAX SUAVE BIKINI. The third pair I pulled out was the X3D BIKINI in turquoise.

I am definitely a fan of bikini briefs, but often reserve them for lounging and sleeping. This bikini is different. The fabric is unbelievably soft and the elastic in the waist and leg bands compliments the luxurious feel of the extravagant garment. I actually get more impressed every time I put anything Ergowear on my body. Their products are simply amazing.

Here are few things that stuck out to me:

  • Waistband: Because the brief is considered a true bikini, there is no large elastic waistband. I consider this to be a plus for someone that is looking for a low-rise pair of underwear without needing to give off the brand of briefs they are wearing. Not that there is anything wrong with the obnoxious waistband fad that is going around the men’s underwear industry right now. I kind of like it, but there are occasions where I don’t want my waistband visible when I bend over. This bikini does that without showing any crack. That’s important to a modest guy like me.
  • Ergowear Logo: The Ergowear logo is sewn front in center on the top of the brief where the waistband would be if it had one. This is simple and adds to the overall look of the brief. The logo calmly states that the wearer is fashionable and knows how to pick good undies. Some brands are over the top with their branding of products. Again, there is nothing wrong with that, but it is sometimes necessary to be a little more discreet.
  • Fabric: LUXURY! LUXURY! LUXURY! Ergowear pulled no punches with how incredible this Suave Microfiber blend feels on the sensitive region. The 95% Polyester and 5% Spandex blend is very soft, displays high elasticity, is a highly resistant fiber, and allows very little moisture absorption. One of the best I’ve ever put on.
  • Pouch: Pouches are my thing. I am constantly on the prowl for the most anatomical or ergonomical pouch on the market. I am even experimenting with custom made underwear where the pouch is custom fit to my dimensions. The pouch is the first thing I look at when deciding whether to add a pair of briefs to my collection. I can usually spot an imposter from miles away. The X3D pouch simply overwhelmed my senses. Not only is the fabric perfect, the pouch is perfect. The low profile seem is center sewn and combined with the highly elastic suave microfiber blend to give your boys the softest support and gentle lift that is indicative of a great ergonomic pouch. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!

Ergowear has blown my fashion sense out of the water and reinvigorated my need to continue exploring the best pouches on the market. Every time I think my knowledge is at the top of its game, a unknown experience bounds into my undie world and totally lights the fire. Ergowear has been incredible to try and I look forward to adding several more X3D pouches to my collection. Most importantly, I can’t wait to get friends and family to try this incredible pouch. I’m blown away!

Next week, I’ll be sharing a bonus post. Candyman Fashion sent me an Ergowear style that I never wear and thought would be impossible to enjoy. Boy was I wrong. You don’t want to miss the next post. Admittedly, I’m a sucker for the waistband string bikini. That’s what this brief is all about. The shiny gold waistband mixes with the great color options put together by the brand to create a very sleek pair of underwear. I was impressed with the pouch from the get go. I could automatically tell that its anatomical design was flawless. I slipped on the bikini and the magic started immediately!

Because the brief is so perfect, I will highlight some of things that stood out most to me:

All in all, I have been super impressed with Ergowear. I posed this question in the Part I of the mini-series. I feel it is necessary to restate: How have I been testing and trying underwear for over 25 years and just now discovering ERGOWEAR? I almost shed a tear when I think that I could have started wearing this incredible brand since 2002. When they first emerged on the underwear scene. Can’t look back! Gotta keep looking forward.

The band is an Ergowear signature that is 1 2/3” wide. The perfect width for a great look. This feature is not only attractive and sexy, it is functional in every sense of the word.

The center seam in the seat of this brief not only felt great, it gave the rear ASSet a little lift that looked great in denim and workout wear. I figured the seam would irritate my hind parts, but it absolutely teemed with COMFORT. I loved the look and the feel.
  • Fabric: Let’s just say SUPER SOFT. Classic Ergowear! Nothing cheap about their products. Certainly the finest fabric went into this brief.
  • Pouch: You guys know that I’m a pouchy (my new word for pouch snob). What can I say—I love POUCHES. The MAX pouch was perfect for me. Great three dimensional fit that allowed my man parts to hang low and natural. The ergonomical design was flawless. This will be my conversion pouch. That simply means that I will refer people to the Ergowear Max Pouch for them to test drive.  To see if they want to move from a highly restrictive pouch to a more anatomical fit. I loved the MAX pouch.

EW0217 (2)MINI-SERIES INTRODUCTION

25 years ago. I embarked upon an underwear journey that began with discovery and exploration. A discovery of new styles, brands, and cuts, and an exploration of what I feel most comfortable wearing. The journey has been marked with several “aha” moments. That have left me speechless and, at times, baffled. Those moments have come to define my approach in attempting to find the best fitting and stylish underwear on the market.

A few years back, I stumbled upon the anatomical pouch through the purchase of an Andrew Christian Almost Naked Brief. Convinced that the anatomical and natural pouch was the only direction I needed to take in underwear selection. I purged nearly 100 pairs of designer briefs, trunks, and bikinis. Then began my personal quest to collect only underwear that were ergonomically correct in the front and center area. This has been a fun journey full of surprises. To date, I am nearing the 100 pair mark of anatomically correct briefs (my style of choice) in my collection.

This brings me to introduce this mini-series of post that will feature Ergowear and their pouches. The mini-series will consist of four posts. One for each of the Ergowear pouch styles and a bonus post that will deal with a shocker style that I never wear—at least until now! Grab some coffee, dim the lights, and enjoy these next few posts. Hopefully, you will identify with my remarks or be compelled to try out something that is reviewed.

PART I: The Feel Pouch

Candyman Fashion furnished the FEEL SUAVE BIKINI by ERGOWEAR for review.

Rating: 10/10

Daily Fit: 10/10

Sizing: 10/10

Construction: 10/10

Styling: 10/10

Daily Performance: 10/10

Pros: Super soft fabric, anatomical pouch

Cons: No cons.

SALVATORE Recommendation: I was excited the day my Ergowear Review package arrived in the mail. I get new underwear quite often. But there is something exhilarating about receiving a brand you’ve never tried before. Ergowear has long been considered the “gold standard” in anatomically or ergonomically correct pouches by most experts. This begs the question. That if I consider myself an underwear expert, how in the world had I never tried Ergowear? I’ve come to realize that sometimes even the most experienced underwear enthusiast misses something incredible.

As I carried the package inside, I went through my normal new underwear routine. I wen to my bathroom, opened the package, and enjoyed a few moments of solace with new arrivals. The first pair I pulled out was the FEEL SUAVE BIKINI.

Because I am a pouch snob, the first thing I did was go directly to the pouch. I was visually disappointed. But kind of expected it because I can typically tell by the pictures online if I am going to love a pouch or not. I did notice that the MINK color was pretty cool and almost completely match my skin tone. Nothing like having a nude pair of underwear to help you feel naked while wearing them. At any rate, I decided I that the FEEL pouch would be the first pair I would wear. So that I could work up to the pouches I was sure I would love. The other two Ergowear pouches are the MAX and X3D. I will talk about those in Part II and Part III of this mini-series.

I was taught early on in life to never judge a book by its cover. I am so glad I determined to wear the FEEL SUAVE BIKINI under jeans for an entire day while traveling. I WAS COMPLETELY SHOCKED when I put on the bikini and discovered that the non-anatomical looking pouch was indeed a natural fit for my boys. The Ergowear Feel Pouch differs from most anatomical pouches because it is not form fitting. It doesn’t hug or envelope the package like most other pouches do. I’m not saying that I prefer this over the snug fitting pouch. I am saying that this is a great alternative and helps to mix it up a little. Because the pouch is what I look for first in a great pair of underwear, this got my review off to a great start.

The construction on the bikini is superior to almost anything I have every worn. The seat offers a slightly less than full coverage back-end and stayed in place all day long (even while in the car for several hour). The pouch felt natural and never left me feeling restricted or bound. Not only did the pouch give me a boost, the butt of the underwear gave me a full and round look (great under jeans). I simply did not want to take them off. I slept in them and worked out in them the next morning. This pair of underwear had everything that I look for in perfection—ergonomical pouch, soft fabric, great elastic, sexy color, and awesome appearance. I don’t know how Ergowear has been around since 2002 and I am just now slipping them on. I FULLY RECOMMEND BUYING THIS PAIR.

Where to buy:

Hey undies lovers, today I’ll be reviewing the Fluorescence Latin Brief (5252)  by the Clever brand (furnished by Candyman Fashion). Now, I have been buying allll sorts of underwear for many years now. I have been reviewing for quite a few of those years. Usually, before I try on a pair, I can feel the pouch and just by seeing it, I can predetermine if I’m gonna love it or not. I’ll explain more of the why later. This pair of briefs was on my Level 2 on the Pouch  Awesomeness radar before I even put them on.

Clever Fluorescence Brief 3

First things first, the color is my power color, a deep teal-ly blue. The waistband name, seam piping, and thread are all a bright neon citron. The brief also comes in a sexy red color. The waistband is a nice wide 1 ½” waistband, which sits nicely just above the hips.

The fabric is a rich 85% Nylon/15% Spandex microfiber blend which gives it that smooth hand. Besides the fabrics, my two favorite aspects are the butt coverage, and the pouch. I love sexy cut briefs like nobody’s business. Some of the time (not this time), if the pouch is super sexy. The butt is not cut big enough to actually hold the butt. But it isn’t small enough to be considered a tanga or thong. It’s just NOT a whole butt…I just want my butt to not feel like it has awkward side butt. Well, this brief is the perfect butt coverage. Not so baggy that fabric gets sucked into the crack vortex. Not so skimpy that you feel like stretching it back over your butt multiple times during the day.

Clever Fluorescence Brief 1

Now, early I said this pair rated a Level 2 on my pouch awesomeness radar. That’s quite a good rating. The only thing that would have elevated this pouch to my Level 1 is if the seam under the balls defined the pouch more so it was lifted forward. That is all. I really do love this pouch. It’s comfortable, stretchy enough to make room. Nice front AND profile visibility of the prizes beneath…

Clever Fluorescence Brief 2

This is going in my go-to undies pile for sure. I love the color, the fit, and especially the butt. At $25, it’s a great pair of undies for what you are paying for. I am so happy with the fit of the butt, I am posting my first ever undies selfie (well first ever posted on an underwear blog heehee). Here ya go world:

Cons: Very very tiny back

Furnished by Candyman Fashion

This pair of underwear, from the front is an awesome pair. I love the pattern, the pouch, how low cut it is, and the material they used. Now the backside, that is a different story, if you love leg day and have a larger booty, then this pair is not for you. If you have a smaller one then it will be perfect for you.

The Sizing for this was actually very nice; my waist is in the 32-34” range, and so some pairs it is a Medium others it is a Large. I received from PetitQ a Medium pair, and it fit my waist perfectly fine, pouch fit nicely, but again, it was the booty part that didn’t fit me.

Clever 5254 Neon Tree Brief furnished by Candyman Fashion

Rating: 9/10

Daily Fit: 9/10

Sizing: 9/10

Construction: 9/10

Daily Performance: 9/10

Pros: Super fun, bright colors, multiple neon colors and fabric styles, comfy and durable.

Cons: Just a tiny bit tight on the underside.

Beau Briefs recommendation: These are fun, flirty pair of briefs that will make a bit summer hit.

Neon, aren’t we all over neon? Nope! This was a super fun, flirty pair of multi-neon colored brief and I thought that they were a hoot! Maybe even two hoots.

The Clever 5254 Neon Tree Briefs are very well constructed and have super flattering lines, with no seams running right across your bum. Often with multiple fabrics there can be some slightly unflattering lines that distract from the overall look but with the layered effect this is not the case. The blue neon is the dominant color and is also a very soft feeling, which every bum enjoys.

The transition of colors is also very pleasing, see below:

The neon yellow acts as a great bridge between the two stronger colors and creates the lovely layer we love!

The pouch is also comfy and well-constructed. At no time during the day did anything get out of sorts or into positions it shouldn’t be. Everything stayed in its parking spot and was very comfortable. Of course the fabric is flexible, as any quality underwear should be, but not too flexible or thin to create too much “wiggle room” shall we say. The neon also helped highlight and showcase the goods which we all know is never a bad thing.

Now I mentioned that there were times when the underside felt a tiny bit tight but I have to say that that is probably much more to do with how I fit into the underwear and not the overall or general fit. Sometimes with my body if underwear has district pipping it can cause a tiny bit of pinching underneath, if you catch my drift. However it was minor and did not take away from my impression of the pair.

So cheer yourself up, brighten your day, and go Neon tree crazy!

Hey undie nerds, Undies Rock here with another review.  Those of you that have been following my posts know that I am a huge fan of swim briefs. Or as I refer to them as “swimmers.” Which is why I am stoked to review Clever’s Tropical Colombia swim brief in white (0605). Furnished by Candyman Fashion.

First off, this pair will meet your expectations for everything a swim brief should be.  It’s a solid pair of swim briefs. The construction and material are quality.  The material is comfortable, and the cut and print are cool.  I have to be honest, for the longest time I haven’t been a fan of Clever.  Due to bad experiences I have had with their thongs.  Though their thongs are constructed well, as all Clever products are. I find them to be uncomfortable.  Specifically the trim is made of a rough material that tends to be abrasive on my skin. Let me put it this way, you don’t want to be wearing one during a long work day. But these swimmers have changed my perspective on Clever. They are highly comfortable for both lounging and water activities.  I took a dip in the ocean with this pair and it did not lose its form and dried quickly. Which I was worried about since the front and back are fully lined (which just reiterates the quality of construction).

The cut is conservative with full butt coverage and mid-rise but remains stylish and fun with its colorful, tropical print. I am usually not into this cut/style of swim brief, but these ones worked out quite well for me.  I’m a in the 32-42 inch waist category and I wore a large which is rated for a 32-34inch waist.  The suit fit snug and felt true to size, without any unfortunate tight or loose areas.  The sides are 3.5 inches with a 1 inch white waist band. The pouch is comfy, my package fit like glove, but I could see for bigger guys that it might be uncomfortable.  One aesthetic of the pouch that I found unappealing is the center seam.  Always gets me lol.  The 85% polyester 15% spandex material feels soft and luxurious.  I wore these briefs for a majority of a day without any discomfort. The elastic drawstring is thin and has metal medallions on the ends which is a cool feature. But can be annoying when tying a knot.  Also the drawstring ports are reinforced with metal rings. Which are more durable than sewn edges. But can get hot and burn when sunbathing.  I feel like I am dragging on with my aversions, but I actually really like this pair.  It doesn’t blow my mind, but I definitely approve.0605 (1)

Pros:

–        Fully lined

–        High quality material (soft and malleable; doesn’t lose elasticity)

–        Well built

–        Comfortable and supportive enough for lounging and activities

Cons:

–        Center seam

–        Medallions on drawstring

PQ150015_Green_1CandyMan Fashion furnished the PetitQ Two-Tone Green Floral Lace Bikini for review.

Rating: 7.6/10

  • Daily Fit: 6/10
  • Sizing: 9/10
  • Construction: 7/10
  • Styling: 10/10
  • Daily Performance: 6

Pros: Sheer, lace, true sizing, great print.

Cons: Abrasive fabric.

SALVATORE Recommendation: I was excited when word got to me that Candyman Fashion supplied the Spring PetitQ line for the UNB team to review. I’ve never worn PetitQ and couldn’t wait to give it a try. When the very skimpy pair of lace briefs arrived in the mail. I immediately planned a time to wear them during several activities.

Not only had I never worn PetitQ, this was my first time to wear lace. Before anyone decides to stop reading because you think lace is for women, give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed. After all, I’m not talking about a frilly lace (although, if that’s your thing, there’s nothing wrong with it). I’m talking about a very masculine lace that is two tone in color. It gives a very cool transparent look to your curves!

The PetitQ Two-Tone Green Floral Lace Bikini is very appealing to the eye. The fit is true and dynamically hugs the body. I typically wear an XL. The brief was true to the sizing chart supplied by the manufacturer. When I first slipped into the lacy greatness. I was concerned about how low cut the thin waisted elastic band was on the hips. Then I realized that I need to pull them up which created a cheeky affect on seat of the briefs. I thought this would bother me, but did not. I tried out my normal review “tests” by attempting to wear this pair like I do with everything else I review:

  • All day in jeans: I wish I could tell you that I made it all day in jeans wearing these great looking briefs. I didn’t! The lace fabric was so abrasive (not soft) that I had to take them off after only a few minutes under the jeans. I was bummed because they look so great on my body.
  • To bed: I definitely looked great when I dressed for bed that night. I snuggled in to for a great nights sleep only to realize that I couldn’t tolerate sleeping in the fabric either. At this point in my review experience. I was getting a little frustrated with the feel of the fabric. How could something so appealing to the eye feel so horrible up next to the skin.
  • At gym during workout: I knew this wouldn’t work out (no pun intended) well. I didn’t even try.

Because the first thing that I look for in a pair of underwear is the pouch design. Is it anatomical or not. I was excited about the room in the pouch of the brief. I would not classify this pouch in the purely ergonomical category. I would say that it is roomy enough to be very very close.

Other than the lack of softness in the fabric, the construction on the brief is top notch. The pattern is eye catching. The pouch is roomy. The leg bands and waistband are comfortable. The sizing was spot on for what was advertised. Unfortunately, the fabric is hard to overcome.

SO WHAT DO YOU DO WITH SOMETHING SO GREAT LOOKING THAT CAN’T BE TOLERATED AS AN EVERY DAY PAIR?: I say buy it anyway and find an occasion wear you will wear it as part of a costume.  For a very brief period of time (if you know what I mean), or as a Fetish Friday fun pair. Great underwear serves a purpose. Most of the time, the good ones are for something specific. My underwear journey is helping me to be more open-minded. Thank you CandyMan Fashion and PetitQ for getting me outside of my normal “MODAL” box and into the realm of the unkown—LACE.

Hello folks, today I’m reviewing a new pair by one of my favorite companies, Clever. It was furnished by Candyman Fashion. One of their new designs coming out is the Original Sin Boxer (2255). I received the “Black” pair that has Teal as the Accent Front color with Black as the background. The other option available for the Original Sin is the “Red” pair with a Gunmetal as the Accent Front Color.

Clever_2255_Black_1

The main body of the boxer is a 94% cotton/6% elastane. Though the main body of the fabric is a cotton blend, which is usually not my favorite, this blend is nice and smooth. The front of the boxer is a synthetic mesh that isn’t see through. But definitely shows off details very nicely. The front pouch is contoured out and gives nice room for your kit. The background fabric meets the front at the side seams. Then travels almost to the front on the inner thigh. The thread color matches the front fabric, so on all front seams, it blends in. While the back seam goes down the middle of your butt and Y’s out down the legs as a contrast.

The two main things I really love about this boxer are the mesh fabric in front.  The subtle design choice that really makes this boxer pop. The mesh in front is a really nice tiny hole mesh fabric. That is lightweight and definitely breathable (great for working out in). The design choice I love is that the contract back fabric wraps around towards the front by the pouch. This makes your pouch “hang” in front of a contrast backdrop. Which really amplifies the visual from the front (which is wear a lot of pouches read as flatter).

Clever_2255_Red_1

On a less happy note, the leg bands of this boxer don’t have a lot of structure to them. So it’s really easy for them to ride up your leg (which is the main reason I end wearing mostly briefs). But it’s not bad enough that I was constantly pulling it down, it was just something I noticed.

I really do like this boxer, and will add it to my drawer of boxers I actually will wear regularly.
PROS:

-Sexy pouch visual.

-Breathable mesh fabric.

-Attractive butt seams.

CONS:

-Legs ride up.

Pros: Material, Styling, Pouch, Cut

Cons: none

Let me start off by saying I love Clever Underwear. Before I had switched to wearing thongs almost my entire underwear collection of briefs/trunks/underwear was Clever. I love the fabric, styling, fit, everything this company does; so when I had switched to thongs I naturally had bought several pairs a couple years back. At that time I was greatly disappointed in the cut and style; but that was then. NOW I would have to say their thong line up is on par with the rest of their underwear line up, which is awesome.

This pair, I loved the material, the pouching was comfortable and breathable. The band like all of their bands is very high quality, a little saddened that the pair I had did not have Clever written in the front, but instead I had two partial sections, and the thong strap they finally got right. It is the right thickness so that you don’t feel it and it is cut so emphasize your cheeks.

The Sizing for this and all the underwear I have had of theirs is spot on; my waist is in the 32-34” range, and so I get a Large for them and it fits me well. I received from Clever a Large size, and was very satisfied with it.

Petit Q Two Tone Lace Bikini – Furnished by Candyman Fashion

Rating: 7/10

Daily Fit: 6/10

Sizing: 6/10

Construction: 9/10

Daily Performance: 7/10

Pros: Sexy as hell, great color combo, fun, different and unique.

Cons: Small sizing, rough fabric for full day wear

Beau Briefs recommendation: Have these on hand for seductive play but not for daily wear.

As is generally the case, the brand name should have given it away, Petit. The first thing that is impossible not to notice is that sizes with Petit Q tend to run small. So the fit was already going to be an issue. It is always important to know and REMEMBER that there are some brands that you need to order up a size. Oops!

So because of the sizing I wasn’t going to be able to try these out for a day long trial, like I generally do. However, let’s be honest, this is not really a pair that one would generally wear for a full day. These briefs have a purpose and it’s not comfort in the office. Its purpose is so that when you slip into them to let someone know that they should “come and get it.” they are going to come and get it!

This is a sexy pair. A seductive pair. A unique pair. And I love a good, unique pair of underwear. It means that this isn’t a pair that every brand will have a variation of, this is specifically a Petit Q pair. The light black lace is beautifully done and punctuated by the yellow flower details. The moody and yet sultry color combination is alluring and fun for the eyes. Of course, it’s also very fun to get the peak a boo view of what lies behind the lace as well. Well hello there, mister.

Given the lace and fabric the pair would not wear the best throughout the day and is not advised. That’s the trade off, sexy check, seductive check, a bit scratchy sadly check. Again, think about slipping into these before a date or when things start to get exciting back at your apartment. The construction is solid and the pouch has a really good structure. For a pair that runs a bit small there is room in the pouch for the goods. There are firm seams around the pouch that create a nice

pocket. I  imagine that these same seams/piping that go around the butt would be supportive as well. Unfortunately they cut across my bum because of the size and I cannot fully know.

If you’re a fan of what Petit Q has done in the past. If you’re a fan of the linen and lace type of look. Or if you want to branch out and have a totally unique pair to play in then this could just be the pair for you.

Hey undie lovers. Undies Rock here with another review for Petit Q’s Hawaii Yellow Bikini (Furnished by Candymanfashion.com).  Petit Q is known for pushing the boundaries of men’s underwear with saucier designs. This bikini is no exception.  From the cheeky minimalistic cut to the vibrant tropical pattern. This pair is total sexiness.

I have been a fan of Petit Q for quite some time for their fun and exotic styles. When they released their latest collection I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this bikini.  I love string bikinis, and though they aren’t my go to style, there is definitely a time and a place for them.  One aspect of a string bikini that either makes it or breaks it for me is the length of the side string.  I hate it when the string length is only an inch or two.  For a string bikini to be considered a string bikini to me, it has to have a generous string length for the side.  This bikini sets the bar as the string goes completely from the crotch all the way to the rear.

I for sure feel a little more in touch with my feminine side with this pair as it has more of a lingerie vibe than an underwear vibe.  The pouch and butt are extremely low rise, with just enough material to cover you manhood and crack.  The butt is incredibly cheeky, and definitely makes you feel sexy.  The pouch has a narrow design, and positons my junk in the center, but it maintains a solid pouch.

The 85% nylon 15% spandex material is thin, stretchy, and comfortable. But nothing special or out of the ordinary.  I wore a size large which is rated for 34-35 inch waists.  I am in the 33-34 inch range, and this pair fit perfectly.  I think I could size down for a tighter fit if I was in the mood, but for sure this was the optimal size.

I test drove a pair for a day and there were a few things that I wasn’t a fan of.  I found myself adjusting the butt throughout the day as it would ride up and down. Which became annoying.  Also, the elastic trim is not the softest. I only say this comparatively speaking to Groovin’s string bikini. Which is crazy soft and comfy.  Though this bikini is fine for office work and intimate occasions. I doubt it would be the right choice for athletic activities or lounging.  The overall construction is good. But I can tell that it’s not the most solid. For a $20 pair of underwear I expected something that doesn’t feel like it was made in China.  Also it’s always a pet peeve of mine when the crotch has a full center seam.  Since the crotch is so minimalistic. Your package fits tight, and the center seam was irritating.

Currently you can find these on Amazon for $20, which is a little pricy for what you get.  But if you’re looking for a wild to pair to spice things up, look no further. Because the Petit Q Hawaii Bikini is the perfect choice.

5263 (2)CandyMan Fashion furnished the CLEVER Flowery Touch Cheeky Brief for review.

Rating: 9.1/10

  • Daily Fit: 8/10
  • Sizing: 10/10
  • Construction: 9.5/10
  • Styling: 10/10
  • Daily Performance: 8

Pros: Fun, bold print, true sizing, great mesh.

Cons: No overwhelming cons.

SALVATORE Recommendation: CandyMan Fashion contacted UNB Tim a while ago and asked the team to review CLEVER’s Spring line. Because the entire team loves undies, he agreed and sent out pairs for review. I recently wrote a post about mesh underwear, how to select great pairs, and what types of mesh to wear for different occasions.

I was elated when the pair selected for me to review was the MESH Flowery Touch Cheeky Brief! The mesh was not the only reason I got excited as I tore open the mailer. There were two other reasons: 1.) This brief has an awesome pattern (super manly) and 2.) It has an anatomical pouch. This brief is truly the collision of three utopic components to the perfect pair of underwear: MESH, PATTERN (instead of plain color), and ANATOMICAL POUCH! Perfection at its finest!

Mesh is so tricky in men’s underwear. There is the super wide hole mesh that is more for fetish wear (totally not me, but check out TTHEAMAZING’s Fetish Friday Column. I’m sure he will work in mesh at some point). Then there is the pragmatic mesh that can be worn for a myriad of event types. This brief is definitely practical in the mesh category. I wore the pair on three different occassions:

  • All day in jeans: I made it through the day wearing the brief under jeans. Mesh is hard to wear under jeans because the glans penis (head or tip of the penis) has very sensitive nerve endings that often poke through the mesh and rub on the denim. Not always uncomfortable—sometimes stimulating and often times irritating. This didn’t begin to bother until around dinnertime. I equate this to great construction and careful design implementation seen in CLEVER’s delivery of quality underwear.
  • To bed: What can I say? I felt sexy sleeping in mesh and even sexier knowing that I was wearing a very awesome pattern. I had no issues whatsoever feeling constricted in the crotch throughout the night. Very very good experience.
  • At the  gym during workout: I’d say that this is the bread and butter of this brief. The fact that the mesh is cool and breezy and the anatomical pouch is very supporting allowed me to have free range of motion in a very well constructed brief.

I’m definitely a pouch snob. Read this and you’ll understand why. My underwear collection is almost exclusively ergonomical in pouch nature. I’ve never worn CLEVER before. This made me nervous about whether the pouch on this brief would actually turn out to be anatomical. The first thing I did when I slipped them on was take notice of the inner sewn elastic that separates the body of the brief from the pouch. I relaxed and realized that CLEVER had me in mind when they made this brief.

The construction on the brief is top notch. The pattern is super man-sexy. There is a center line going up the butt area to give you an added lift. An incredibly soft metallic gold waistband accentuates the design. The sizing was spot on for what was advertised. What else can a man ask for? NOTHING!

OUTSIDE OF THE BOX RECOMMENDATION: My wife actually came up with the idea that this brief could be worn as a swim brief if you got in a bind. The great pattern is not completely transparent and leaves enough to the imagination to make most people salivate. The lightweight mesh dries very quickly when wet and the overall construction is solid. We’re moving to Hawaii in the next couple of months. Who knows, maybe I’ll wear them surfing some day soon.  Follow me on Twitter @manatomicallyme to see if I get brave and post a picture!

10579173_10153823797421501_1322744664_oHey guys, it’s Undoes Rock here back at it with another review for the Navy Brief from Ca-Rio-Ca.  I picked up this swim brief up not too long ago when I met the owner and designer of Ca-Rio-Ca.  We hit it off right from the get go. After three hours of bonding over what I refer to as “undie talk”. I walked out with quite a few goodies including a swim brief which I am pleased to review.

During my meeting Gil continually stressed how important the quality of his products is.  If you own a Ca-Rio-Ca swimmer, you know this is true.  Let me put it this way, when I try on my Ca-Rio-Ca sunga I feel like royalty.  No joke. This swimmer is the total package.  The construction is impeccable.  The material is soft, and sets the bar in my book.  The designs and prints are edgy and are seemingly infinite.  I had such a hard making a selection from all of the endless choices. I spent quite a substantial amount of time scoping out all of the different prints, colors and patterns.  But I ended up with the Navy brief, which makes my list of “top ten best life choices”.  Believe me it wasn’t the easiest choice, but the navy print clicked for its classic yet edgy and fun vibe.  Ca-Rio-Ca offers five cuts: bikini, brief, low rise, classic, and traditional (sunga). Bikini being the skimpiest cut and sunga being the most conservative.  I went with the brief because I like the minimal yet adequate coverage and the classic cut.  Though at the time, selecting the navy brief wasn’t such a straightforward choice. it’s easily become one of my favorite printed briefs in my collection.

The 85% polyamide 15% spandex material set the standard for the ultimate luxe material. The fabric provides the perfect balance between support and flexibility.  The entire suit is fully lined with a 100% polyamide layer.  When you first feel a pair, right away you will be able to tell that they are an incredibly comfortable pair from how soft the material is.  The suit seems a little thick to the touch initially, but once I was in the water they felt like any other swim brief.  I mean they aren’t racer status. But if you get the right size they don’t feel heavy in the water or like they are dragging at all.  The waist band and drawstring design is great at maintaining tension and grip. I was able to swim laps in a pool just like I would with a pair of Nike or TYR suits.

As I have repeatedly stated. This pair is designed for comfort. Believe me, it’s truly the perfect lounge/relax brief.  There were no pinch points or any exceptionally tight regions.  I have a ~34” waist and the medium I was wearing (rated for 32”-33” waist) fit like a glove; not too tight or loose.  The material is stretchy so if you like our swimmer to be a little snug, I think it is safe to size down with this pair.  Though I love suits without a center seem. I was a little concerned with this suit as there isn’t a lower crotch seem/relief.  I look for this in a swim brief to guarantee a good pouch that maintains a solid cup for my package. While providing the seamless flat front look.  It’s a huge pet peeve when the crotch in a suit starts to sag and my package starts to overflow/slip out. Much to my surprise, this pair maintained a good cupping effect the entire time.

Currently you can find these perfect lounge swimmers directly on the Ca-Rio-Ca webpage for $99.  I know this a hole your wallet, but the quality and style is well worth the price.  If you’re a swim brief fan, this pair is an absolute must, no exceptions, as this a center piece in my collection.  Personally I can’t wait for summer to kick in so I can spend as much time in these Brazilian swimmers as I possibly can!

Pros:

·       Impeccable construction

Underwear-20150922Hey guys, Undies Rock here back at it with another review for the new Tommy John Move 360 sport boxer brief (furnished by Tommy John).  I’m not a huge advocate of boxer briefs. I have heard good things about Tommy John and I have yet to try any of their products so I figured I’d give them a shot.

First off, whenever I get a new pair of underwear one thing that always sticks out to me is the quality. Right from the get go I could tell that this was a high quality pair of underwear.  From the construction, to the material, to the waist band, everything was as solid as it could be.  They are definitely designed for athletic guys in mind to withstand the most rigorous activities and multiple washes thereafter.  Unlike the other boxer briefs I have tried, this pair provides substantial amount coverage.  The length of the leg sits a couple inches above your knee, and the waist sits at your navel.

The 84% polyester 16% spandex material is smooth and soft. It doesn’t feel cheap, and provides the right amount of support and flexibility.  It is also anti-microbial and anti-odor technology, which is great for athletic wear. The legs are constructed with, I would describe, as a traditional microfiber fabric. While the crotch and butt are more of a mesh (cooling zones) material for additional breathability. The material is offered in three standard colors: black, dress navy blue, and turbulence grey.  They aren’t the most flattering, but they are good for everyday wear.

One feature that impressed me about this pair is the strong yet soft and not too restricting tagless waistband. Tommy John is stitched into the front center of the waistband. While the remainder of the waistband is detailed with dashes.  Which I find adds an edgy vibe to a pair that would otherwise feel like traditional boxer brief.

This pair also has some unique features such as a utility pocket.  It’s reinforced around the opening lips for added strength.  I know it’s not a deal breaker when buying a pair of underwear, but this could be useful for stashing keys when on a run.  Also the opening for the crotch is from the top. Which makes it more functional compared to the traditional side entry.

To get a feel for the pair, I test drove them through a normal day at work.  The soft material and waistband maintained comfort throughout the day.  There were no pinch points or any exceptionally tight regions.  I have a ~34” waist and the medium I was wearing (rated for 31”-34” waist) felt true to size. Not too tight and not too loose.  One observation that I made with this pair is that I was constantly adjusting myself throughout the day. I think this may be true for most boxer briefs for me, so it might be a symptom specific to all boxer briefs.  The crotch has a lower center seam to aid the cupping effect of the pouch and give the appearance of a seamless crotch. Which is a huge plus for me.  However, I found the crotch to slide down throughout the day. Instead of the pouch providing support, it just pushed my junk against the side of my leg.  I knew I would start chaffing if I didn’t adjust, so I had to, which became annoying after awhile. For a pair that is advertised as requiring no adjustment, I was a little disappointed.

Currently you can find these directly from the Tommy John webpage for $34.  This may be a little pricey, but the quality is well worth the price. Overall, although this isn’t an ideal pair for me (I might dig them in a brief). I can definitely tell from the construction that this would be a perfect pair for athletic guys who prefer a modern kick to the boxer brief.

Pros:

·       Solid construction

·       Soft, breathable fabric

·       Comfortable waist band

Cons:

·       Pouch tends to slouch

·       Only three color options

Sock it to Me contacted us a while back and wanted to know if we would review some boxer briefs and socks. Well, that was a no brainer! A company that made matching socks and undies. Yes we were going to review. They sent us four pairs, two for myself and two for UNB Brady. UNB Brady I have nicked named our Style Guru. Don’t let him fool you he’s got style!

I was going to wear these on a trip I was going on and for the event I went too. But running around the house that morning it really wasn’t giving me support I needed through the day. So I took them off and but on another pair. I wanted to give them a good chance and this wasn’t it. But, I kept the socks on. Which I love! Colorful socks are my new love!

The next day I had a good 2 hour drive home. I decided to give them a chance. It should be noted I’m not a huge boxer brief fan. So I know my limits when I wear them. The pair did well with travel. They didn’t bunch up or ride up. I even noticed this when I was running around. They really held their place it limited a lot of my issues with boxer briefs. The only issue I had is I wished it had more support. It’s a personal preference that I have in all undies.

Back to the boxer briefs. As I mentioned they were really well made. I was really impressed. The fabric and fit were very good for daily wear. The print is my favorite. It’s a comic book type print with all the sayings when the hero gets into a fight. On the read background it really pops. Super fun print.

The sizing was pretty good for this pair. I received an XL and it fit well. I’m a bit bigger than the upper side of the scale and it didn’t fit too tight. They have pretty standard sizing for an American brand. If you see the sizing chart a medium is 32 and a large is a 36. So good job on the sizing

Let’s talk about the socks! I loved these socks. They aren’t matchy matchy. Meaning they aren’t the same print on both. They sort of mimic the boxer briefs. They are a great compliment to the undies. How often can you show the world your underwear through your socks! My one issue I had was I’m 11.5 shoe size and it was a little tight putting on. After they were on I had no issues. If you have a 12 or large you may have issues putting the socks on. The socks were great and kept my feet warm through out the day. It was awesome!

Time for another jock review! I have a couple items from FT that I like so I was optimistic. Fort Troff tends to like a hyper-masculine look so the camo print and large waistband weren’t a surprise.  However the soft, perforated fabric was. These are made of 84% polyester and 16% spandex.  All 3 versions have the same gray camouflage print but the stitching and trim. Colors that are available in red, blue and gray. A boxer brief, boxer jock and trunk are also available. (Fort Troff furnished this pair for review)

I wore these on a run which is when I would typically wear a jock even though most guys might use this for “fun”. This jock was really comfortable so it would work for guys who like a jock as underwear, too. The waist and leg bands are pretty thick so you are definitely aware that you’re wearing a jock.

The sizing lists a medium as fitting a 30-31, which is me, and it’s dead on. Nice and snug without being too tight. The pouch has a good amount of stretch so if you’re on the larger end of the size range, you should still be OK. I would follow your typical, American sizing for this pair.

What I liked most about this pair was that they actually held up as a jock! I have several jockstraps that are definitely just for play or as daily underwear. When I exercise, I sweat a lot and like everything up front to be nice and snug. Some guys might disagree, but too much bouncing on a run is not cute. I really didn’t have any issues with this jock other than some minor adjustments to the leg straps.  But that happens with every pair I own so I won’t hold that against them. Camouflage isn’t really my thing but I still liked the style. Different colors/patterns would make me definitely get another pair. They sell as a pack of three along with a bonus cocking for $40. Seriously.

Overall, this was a good, solid jock and made me think I should try more in the future. I will definitely consider Fort Troff more than I did in the past. I had considered them for fetish wear or a store for gear, which is hot, but not always practical. My fetish for brief/jock lines through shorts was also well satisfied with the thick leg straps through my white running shorts. 🙂
