Big Boy Pants is a brand I have seen for a some time and one I really wanted to review. I love the styles and ergonomically design. If you are a long time reader you know how much I love underwear with great pouches. Some of my favorites in the past, which are similar to Big Boy Pants, Obviously, Cocksox, Ergowear and such. We received three pairs to review. The Mini Brief (this one), Lo-Rise Boxer Brief and Boxer Briefs.

It recently have begun a weight loss program of eating better and am down 50 pounds since the start.  So this is making some of my favorite undies too big for me. Which is a good problem to have. I now wear larges and they pairs they sent me fit me just perfectly. I am super happy to be back in a large. The material is a modal blend and is super soft. Modal really forms to the body and feels amazing. The pouch at first was a little strange to me, but I realized that that you need to make sure you fit snuggly in the pouch. After I adjusted it, I had no other issues with the fit.

The Mini Briefs are a bikini cut with a branded waistband. It’s higher cut on the legs and really moves with you through the day. I didn’t have any issues with the pair riding up. They make this claim on their website and I’m glad it held true! The pair also is one of those that fits so good you forget you are wearing underwear. Which to me is the best sign of wearing underwear. Because there is nothing worse than wearing a pair that constantly rides up or bothers you!

I would highly recommend this pair for anyone who wants ergonomically designed underwear. Its a trend in men’s underwear and one I am glad to see. Big Boy Pants really took the time to design a pair that would fit a man. The pouch has to be my favorite part, it just held everything in place and gave me the support I needed!

Pros:

  • Great ergonomic fit
  • Made from super soft modal
  • Higher cut that didn’t ride up

Cons:

  • Just make sure you are fit securely in the pouch

James Tudor is not a brand I am familiar with, so when I received it I had not preconceived notions as to what to expect from them. The pair received was the Military Brief in White in a size medium.   When I took them out of the package, I was unsure about how I would like them.  Usually I can tell by looking at a pair if they are going to work for me or not.  With these, I had no clue.  95% cotton, 5% elastane, the distinct button fall front certainly piqued my curiosity.

These briefs were very comfortable from the start.  The waistband, with the bold James Tudor logo, fit snugly without being too tight.  As did the leg openings.   The contrast stitching on the seat gives a nice look and aids in providing the rear support that some of us need.  I don’t normally wear briefs with a fly front or any sort of opening, so I was curious how the button down “fall” front would work.  Inside the brief there is an opening that the goods naturally fit through when you put them on.  So in order to go to the restroom, you unbutton and lower the front flap.    Which for me seemed a little cumbersome.  You can’t just “whip it out” when you have to go, making the quick trip to the restroom a little longer than usual.

Available in white, blue, and black, this brief is definitely an eye catcher.

There is nothing better than a wearing a fun swimsuit that is eye catching. The Manus Men’s Swim Brief offers fun style and great comfort. If you are in the market for a new swimsuit and want to get lots of attention then you should pay attention to this review. The bold print I am reviewing is the Tropical Leopard. At first glance it seems like its a bit much for a mens swimsuit but sometimes our wardrobe needs some whimsy. A rainbow confection animal print. It’s Lisa Frank meets Jersey Housewives.

There is a vintage feel to the design of the swimsuit. This is a full brief swimsuit. And I say full brief because today’s trend for swimsuits tend to be a lower cut on the waist and a higher cut on the thigh. The 3 inch side seams with full wide front and back coverage evoke an old school chic look for the beach or pool. The fast drying material is a Polyester and Spandex blend. The front is fully lined in a nude color of the same material. The waistband does not have a drawstring so if you are gonna go jump in waves be warned. I don’t foresee that to be too much of an issue since the fit at the waist is perfect. My only real issue with the design was the lack of tightness around the legs. I prefer a brief to stay in place a little more securely.  All I needed was a thin piece of elastic around the legs to keep the back in place.

I was definitely noticed at the gym when i swam my laps and hopped in the jacuzzi wearing this bathing suit. I got a few compliments from guys asking where I got it. I was surprised to see how receptive guys were being about such a bold print. Normally after the jacuzzi I sit in the sauna hoping my bathing suit with dry a bit before I throw it into my bag. I was really surprised by how dry the suit got in such a short period of time. So for the guys that hate putting your shorts over a wet bathing suit at the beach you should check this brand out.

The summer might be over but it’s always a good time to stock up on fun swimwear. Go for it guys!

Pros-

  • Bold print
  • Classic design
  • Fast drying

Cons-

  • Leg elastic could be tighter

The weather has started getting a little cooler here in Atlanta (believe it or not).   Soon we will be into Fall and then eventually for what we call “winter”.   Just cold enough for most Southerners to go into hibernation and stay indoors for a couple of months.  And for those of us who love to be outdoors no matter what the weather, it’s the season of hot men in running tights.   I run year-round, so I own several pairs.  Worn with a long sleeved t-shirt and running shoes, it’s the perfect combination of just enough and not too much clothing to keep me warm on those blustery days.  I received the PX Runner athletic tights from N2N Bodywear in a size medium, and although it’s not quite cool enough to wear them for my morning runs I gave them a try one day while working out in the fitness room where I live.  These tights are multiple fabric; the solid fabric is 79% recycled polyester and 21% spandex, the mesh fabric is 96% micro polyester and 4% spandex.  Super stretchy and form fitting, the standard that N2N is known for, these tights are not for the faint of heart.

The first thing you notice about these tights is the pouch front.  True to form, the pouch is designed to accentuate your god-given parts, and leaves nothing to the imagination.  And I do mean nothing.   Anyone who sees you in them will know just exactly what you are working with down there.  As daring as I tend to be, I’m not sure I would ever be able to wear these out running unless I wore shorts over them.   I caught two of my neighbors who happened to be in the fitness room stealing glances; lord only knows what they thought of my attire.  I do love the way they look though.  The different colors of the accent fabric and the mesh portions almost create a natural definition of the leg muscles.  And as I worked out I didn’t get over heated since the mesh is very breathable.  I did an upper body workout and then ran on the treadmill for 45 minutes.  I have to admit that as I ran I forgot about the pouch and just got into my run.  They were that comfortable.   So who knows, maybe once it’s actually cold outside I’ll give them a whirl on the streets.  That’ll be sure to stop some traffic (just what Atlanta needs, another traffic jam).

These athletic tights are available in three color patterns: black and white with grey mesh panels, yellow and white with black mesh panels, and blue and black with white mesh panels.

Pros

  • great fit
  • breathable mesh panels
  • inside drawstring

Cons

  • prominent pouch may cause some to wear additional layers

The PX Runner was provided by N2N Bodwear and is available at http://n2nbodywear.com for $60.00.

There has always been a market for fetish wear in the underwear community for men. Over the last few years I have noticed a new trend in designs. Functional underwear design and fetish wear design are merging together. The Modus Vivendi Denim Look Brief is an example of this trend and I was lucky enough to review it and have to admit that even though I wear mostly thongs there is nothing sexier than putting in a great brief. This sporty brief, part of Modus Vivendi’s Fishermen Collection, with a football pant inspired cross lace front is definitely a great addition to my underwear collection.

There is no denying the main design on this brief is to accent your crotch. Tie the cotton cords tight or leave it lose. The versatility of the look depends on how much you wanna show off. The lace ties are accented by a border of leather looking material. There is definitely a visual accent to the crotch by these vertical black accents. But there is more design that just peek a boo pubes. Keeping with the denim look of the briefs there is a cute plastic appliqué to the rear waistband that mimics the label on a pair of Levis.

The softness of fabric, made of 95% Vicose (Rayon) and 5% Elastan, provides a pleasurable experience to wear the garment all day.  Here is a tip: If you are gonna wear these briefs under your jeans all day then leave the ties loose. The leather look material rubs aggressively in your skin if the ties are tied tights. After sitting at my desk for a few hours I had to loosen the ties for more comfort. I also found the ties to be a little too long so I just cut a few inches off.

I had never worn a pair by this brand before. I have found that when an underwear brand markets itself to cater to the fetish community there tends to be a cheapness to the production value. The materials, design and finish of a garment for high quality fetish wear can really break your bank. This brief is fun, functional and is affordable.

If I were to continue with the rest of my review of this brief then we would need to post it on a more adult website. Let’s just say that the lace in the front got loose. Very loose. And I dont think I have more fun with a pair of briefs on. 🙂

Pros-

  • Sexy design
  • Soft fabric
  • Looks great on

Cons-

  • Leather like fabric abrasive on skin

This pair was furnished by Modus Vivendi  and is available for $32 at their site.

BoyRio is an underwear/swimwear company based in Rio de Janeiro, and you can tell because all of their pieces would look great on a bright sandy beach locale. I got a pair of their Full brief to review. Disguised as a basic pair of briefs, these undies are quite nice to wear, even though you’ll be a little surprised at the fabric.

The fabric blend is a 90% Polyester, 10% Spandex blend. The result is a cool forest green that has a slight luxe sheen to it. The brief is a pouch brief style, with the two-panel pouch inset into the front of the brief with deep brown contrast flatlock stitching. To finish off, the brief has black finishing on the leg holes, and a black elastic at the waist. The only wonky part of the fabrication for me was the taggage; there is a tag at the back center with the size and washing instructions, as well as a little hang tag coming out of the front hip with the brand.

In addition to that, the waist elastic seam (when the elastic is made into a loop) is set at the center front, so they added an additional brand label at the center front. For me, that’s a little too much, but the front two are at least on the outside, so it shouldn’t affect your comfort level. The leg holes are nice and stretchy without being too loose.

What I like about the underwear is it has a nice lifting effect to everything. The pouch isn’t a c-ring style lift, but it does keep everything up front. The elastic in the legs picks the butt up quite nicely. This is a very low rise brief. I would suggest ordering a size up as well, because my regular size is a bit too snug for my comfort.

All in all, a nice sexy brief, design wise, I wouldn’t say it’s anything special, it’s the sexy Rio version of a classic.

Pros:

  • Surprisingly nice fabric.
  • Snug pouch.

Cons:

  • Not too special in it’s design.
  • A little excessive on the taggage.

Ladies and Gentlemen, today I have a very nice pair of underwear to discuss with you. It is the 7” Short Boxer Numeral 2. I received them in Blue, and was intrigued by the design elements before trying it on. This sexy pair of undies is made out of a 84% Nylon, 16% Spandex blend. The main part of the boxer is blue, with an orange UNICO logo waistband. Not part of the “construction” elements of the boxer are these two sleek black piping lines that run around the hips from front to back, only stopping at the pouch.

The initial putting on of the underwear was verging on heavenly. The material is so rich and breath through the fabric feels great. The seams where the piping hit across the butt almost make it feel like there are sexy cutouts back there. Legs fit very nicely on this pair, hugging without squishing, and the un-elasticized hems put a very nice leg line at the bottom.

Now, today, I had to go in to the circus studio and train,. Which usually starts with stretching, including the greatest underwear tester of all time…SPLITS! Splits are the event where good underwear construction and GREAT underwear construction separate. While I was in the split, it felt like I was wearing nothing, which is not a common feeling with boxer-style underwear in high mobility activities. The big wonder was whether I’d have to readjust everything once I stood back up, and I can tell you, this pair needed NO adjustments. I even did them without pants on at home, just to see what it looked like after the splits, and they looked sexy, sure the legs rode up a little bit, but they didn’t CURL up, which is important, and they only made the “centerpiece” look better.

In terms of maintenance, the underwear label specifies hang dry, but I found that after putting it through the dryer with everything else I own (I use medium heat, cause my life involves a lot of spandex, with the circus and all), it looks perfectly fresh and fine.

The biggest thing to know is that I’m a 34” waist, usually getting a Large or Medium in most brands, I was given an XL in Mundo Unico sizing, and it fit great. So definitely check their sizing before you buy.

Pros:

  • Wonderful construction
  • Really breathable fabric
  • Sexy design

Cons:

  • Only available in Red, Yellow, and Blue.
  • Tag in back can be itchy depending on skin sensitivity.

I received the Private Structure Spectrum Contour Trunk a couple of weeks back and I was incredibly excited to get to own/review them for you as I’ve had my eye on them for awhile. As some of my other posts might have indicated, I have been out of the trunk market for some time due to my love for briefs, but these really peaked my interest after seeing them online. Based on appearance alone, I thought I’d be getting a well-constructed trunk with a nice pop of color and when I got them in the mail, those expectations were met. These trunks are made from 95% cotton and 5% spandex, and the pair I am reviewing came in “Salmon” according to most websites, but the packaging indicated “Fuchsia” and when you get them in your hand, they look far more pink, than the more understated watermelon/orange-pink the pictures on the website would indicate. The XL fits my 37 inch waist nicely and over all they have a good size-to-fit construction.

I wore this pair for a full day, and made sure the day was busy. Not all trunks are made the same, and since most of my trunks come from top brands 2(x)ist and Calvin Klein, I wanted to see how these would hold up. I wore them for a full work day, and then wore them while doing some yard work and other work around the house to get ready for our vacation. At the end of the day, I was both satisfied and fairly impressed. The construction of the trunk is very familiar, but one part makes it stand out. The trunk features a very sturdy vertical seam that runs from the waistband directly down your “crack” which creates an incredible shape. Additionally, two perpendicular seems form a Y-seam to each leg opening from the center “crack” seam, I assume this is to keep the brief from riding up your behind.

The fit of this trunk was fantastic because its construction makes it feel like you’re actually wearing a brief. The contour pouch is ample for just about everyone (although it could have been just slightly bigger for me) and the seam in the back ensures a very comfortable, supportive (in all areas) fit.  The only issue I have with the trunk is the material choice of the leg openings. Like most trunks the leg openings use spandex to stay tight, but by the end of the day, the leg openings were fairly stretched out and caused some “ride-up” in the front, which is annoying. My guess is that its a result of using too much cotton and not enough, or at least not sturdy-enough spandex in the leg openings.

Style wise, the trunk clings on to pop color as its main source of attractiveness, and the contrast white piping makes the bright colors pop that much more. The logo’d waistband is very typical, but I like the font and use of bold lettering. The trunk’s low-rise gives it a modern touch, while also making your bulge look even more enhanced. Based on my research, you can get this trunk in a dozen different color options, which is a huge plus for trunk fans.

Overall, I really like this trunk from Private Structure. It is well constructed, fits great, is as breathable as it can be, and has some nice style. I’ve worn it a couple of times already and when the weather gets cooler, it will certainly be a go-to.

Pros:

  • Excellent Construction
  • Stylish
  • Comfortable Fit

Cons:

  • Can stretch out
  • Materials could be more sturdy (5% spandex could be 10% spandex)

Thanks to Tim, these Timoteo Briefs are ones I had been eyeing so I am so grateful he was able to get it for me to review! It’s the Timoteo Classic Super Low Rise Brief and I am reviewing a purple pair. The brief runs very small and the XL is a bit small on me, but still wearable.

The brief features the lowest rise of any of the nearly 60 pairs of briefs I own and is composed of 96% cotton and 4% spandex. Ultimately its a very simple construction, and outside of its low-rise, its design strays little from a traditional designer brief.

I wore them for an entire day at the office and a basic night at home the same night. When I first got them on I must say I was a bit nervous about the fit being too small, especially since this brief doesn’t have a contour pouch, and when I got them on, I thought my package would be smashed and uncomfortable all day. I was wrong on one account. Since the construction of these briefs doesn’t include a contour pouch, my package was a bit smashed, but not in a bad way, necessarily.

The fit overall was a bit “interesting” for me because I’m 6’4″ and athletically built and I have a very long waist which is why I like low-rise briefs, but this is as low rise as it gets. Additionally, I was “blessed” with a decent sized package and while the pouch was fairly constrictive, I was shocked to notice that my natural “hang” was never disturbed at any point of the day, simply because your junk will not move once you get these on. I was also surprised by the full coverage the back gives you while still maintaining a modern look and fit.

The materials that go into this brief are of high quality. The cotton mimics the sturdiness of a “pique” cotton without that material being used, and the spandex is firm but unnoticeable during wear, which is a nice plus. Stylistically, the brief’s low rise and silvery logo’d waistband are a nice style touch, and your options of  Purple, Red, or (Army) Green are the only colors that will make this brief say “look at me.”

Overall, this is a brief I really wanted to be impressed by but my high hopes were met with only the feeling of serviceable satisfaction. Frankly, I just don’t think designers should be able to get by with a sexy brief design featuring a couple of attractive colors without a contour pouch. Now I know that these briefs are a part of  Timoteo’s “Classic” line meaning they’re for the guys who aren’t huge risk takers with their choice in underwear, and I know other lines from this label do feature contour pouches, but I’m puzzled as to why this one doesn’t. It generally fits well, and is again, a serviceable pair of briefs that look nice, maybe if I had tampered my expectations I would have been a bit more positive, but on the whole, these earn a “B”.

  • Comfortable
  • Supportive
  • Classic Fit

  • Small Pouch

As an avid fan of laying in the sun and bronzing my body, I’m always on the lookout for new swimwear.  I’ve been a competitive swimmer and played water polo for many years, so I am quite used to wearing a speedo.  So much so that it has become my swimwear of choice, no matter what the location.

Besides, women wear small swimsuits all the time.  No reason why guys shouldn’t.  But that’s another story to be discussed at a different time.  Bum Chums is one of the newest men’s underwear and swimwear companies to hit the market.   They are dedicated to creating “fun and funky designs” while providing support in the front and back. The swim brief  is available in five vibrant colors: Cheeky Cherry, Blue Berry, Lemon Lush, Purple Plum and Pink Peach.

I received the Lemon Lush in a size medium. I’ve never owned anything by them so I was eager to try it out, and finally had a nice sunny day to hit the pool and work on my tan line.

I have to say that I was quite pleased with this suit.  Very comfortable and well made.  The waistband does a great job of concealing the drawstring, and sat on my hips perfectly.  Definitely an eye-catcher, this suit does like any good speedo and clings to the body and the seat gives your backside a little lift.  I did find that this particular color became slightly see through when wet, which isn’t a problem as the double lined pouch in the front keeps you from showing too much.  The tag is on the outside, so you don’t get that an tag showing through in the back when wet like you do with some other suits.

Pros

  • tag on front
  • double lined pouch
  • good support in front and back

Cons

  • might be slightly see through when wet (which might be a pro depending on the person!)

I was tweeting one day and Obviously replied and asked if I had a pair of their thongs. I told them that I didn’t and a few tweets later I am here reviewing their Low Rise Thong from the Chromatic Collection. It’s not everyday that a underwear manufacturer wants me to wear their thongs. It would be a a dream if every company asked me to wear their thong. So to the tweeter at Obviously: Thank You!

So flash forward to me getting my first pair from Obviously. A nice blue pair. As soon as I took the pair out of the plastic wrap I was surprised by how soft the fabric was. You often read online a description of the underwear fabric. Many times it says how soft the material is. When the underwear arrives in the mail you find out it’s as soft as cardboard. And then you wash it and it turns into a piece of starched felt. Giggle all you want but you know it’s true.

The design is basic but very well executed. The low rise waistband is a soft smooth elastic that fit me perfectly. No muffin top or residual elastic imprint after removing the garment. Isn’t that the worst? You feel sexy in a pair of underwear and then you take it off to see a red imprint in your skin. Some would say that I need to go up a size but if I did they would be too big. I wear my thongs to work out all the time and I hate when it’s time to get in the shower and have skin ripples cause of a tight thong. Obviously is so luxuriously soft and comfortable that it seems like it was tailored to my body. The thong consists of a pouch that is hemmed independently of the thong strap. Many brands include a thin piece of elastic in the pouch’s hemmed. This thong doesn’t have it and doesn’t need it. I felt very supported without feeling an elastic press against my skin. To our readers that have a large package you will be comforted to know that the elasticity and cut of the pouch will be very accommodating to your needs.

I actually had to do laundry before writing this review. I have reviewed several pairs that have pilled or started to fray after the initial washing. I was worried that the soft fabric would become generic blah. You have to understand that I am not into separating my clothes and special washing instructions for underwear ridiculous. It’s underwear. The laundry is just everything in the wash and dry it all together. Congrats goes to Obviously for passing my laziness laundry skills. If Obviously keeps up their craftsmanship for produced high quality underwear, I will be a fan for life.

If you are new to thongs or are a avid thong guy, I highly recommend Obviously as must have purchase for your collection.

Pros –
Great fabric
Super light
Fantastic cut

Con’s –
I only got one pair to review

This pair was furnished by Obviously and is available for $24.95 AUD at their site.

The Modus Vivendi Fetish Boxer style is a great pair of boxer briefs in a black fabric that is stretchy and shiny.  The boxer has red patent leather look detailing along the front pouch area that is separated and held in place by a black zipper and cord with silver on the end.  There is also a small, one inch square in silver with Modus Vivendi in black on the front left hip.   This pair of underwear is listed as fetish wear on the Modus Vivendi website and is directed to the leather and leather look fetish group of guys.

The fabric consists of 95% Cotton and 5% Elastan and makes for a soft feel with perfect stretch and conforming nature to provide fantastic support in all areas.  The way the pouch area is sewn creates a very nice and full look while wearing these boxer briefs.  Size Large was not the best fit based on European to American sizing, but not true to size as I am a true Large in undies (Size up, guys!).  The area around the waistband is a standard black elastic, but Modus Vivendi went the extra mile and place the fabric in the body of the brief around the top of the waistband for comfort.  This leads to a more comfortable feel against the body.  The red leather look material running up and down the front pouch runs under the package and provides a nice full look to enhance the package.  The seat is one piece of fabric, but really conforms to the rear in a nice manner.

Upon first inspection, the boxer is more of a squarecut boxer rather than what one thinks of when you use the word boxer. Quality was excellent and the black fabric with the red leather look trim is a excellent combination and makes a nice contrast.  While the rear consists of a single panel to provide support and definition of the rear and the pouch size was perfect in sizing and support.  After putting this pair on, I found the pouch to create a very full look in the underwear and I loved the way the leather look pieces could be zipped all the way up or left slightly open to reveal your manhood.  I like the way the underwear is conforming and how it feels against my body as it moves with my movements and creates a very nice silhouette.

I wore this Modus Vivendi Fetish Boxer for a few hours one evening.  I began with working around the house a bit and ended with a nice dinner with my significant other.  After the dinner, the fetish side came out and let’s just say that this boxer works for fetish wear. The boxer brief remained fairly comfortable for the evening.  I say that because Modus Vivendi lists this as fetish wear and it probably should not be worn for long periods of time and expect it to be comfortable the whole time.  I found the waist to be comfortable and conforming.  The pouch was comfortable and Modus Vivendi really thought about the zipper as part of the underwear rather than just throwing it on and not worrying about it.  This is because when I have had other underwear with a zipper, it is just there and could do some damage if one is not careful.  Modus Vivendi has made sure to line have a nice zipper that self-lines itself to cover the metal teeth of the zipper to provide a soft piece of fabric for comfort and no worry about injury.

Overall, this was a nice pair of underwear.  I liked the look of the rear, the way the black and red looked together, the leather look enhancements, the feel of the fabric, the overall look of the boxer, and the conforming and enhancing nature of the pouch.  The price is a bit high, but fairly reasonable for this type of specialty underwear due to styling.  I think I will hand wash these since they have the special detailing and cord on them.  In general, I have no major complaints about this boxer and I enjoyed wearing them.

This pair of underwear was furnished by Modus Vivendi, and may be found on their website for $44.11

I have a hard time finding a good swimsuit because I have a very large set of buttocks. It’s true. It’s part of the reason why I primarily wear thongs as underwear. A few summers ago I finally decided to switch from board shorts to swim briefs and bikinis. I have had a hard time finding a pair that would stay in place. Usually after a few minutes the swimsuit would start riding up. The last thing you want to do is pick a wedgie when you are trying to look cute on the beach. I even bought into the hype of a new brand last summer. On a trip to Miami last year I spent most of the time adjusting a swimsuit I spent way too much money on.

So imagine my skeptical attitude when I got to review a swimsuit from Vuthy. The pair was featured in UNB’s Guide to Swimwear this year. I loved the print. A fun houndstooth in black and white made of 80% Nylon, 20% Spandex. The fabric is super stretchy and light on the skin. The instant I tried them on I was pleasantly surprised by comfort level. This is really a great design. The back of the swimsuit was fully covering me. I decided to start testing it out and walked around a bit. The suit stayed in place and I loved it. The waist fit great as did the piping around the legs.

I have worn them a few times. There is a jacuzzi as my gym I have relaxed in wearing them. It’s great when a swimsuit is so comfortable that you feel naked when trying to relax. I have also wore this swimsuit to the beach a few times. I have gotten more compliments on this bathing suit then I ever remember getting at the beach. And the best part, I never had to adjust a wedgy. I did wish that there a bit more of a contoured shape to the front pouch. I found it to be a little bit flattening but not to the point I was uncomfortable.

I will definitely be adding more Vuthy swimwear to my collection next summer.

Pros –

  • Great fit in the rear.
  • Great fabric and bold print

Con’s –

  • A hand wash only swimsuit. I still threw it in the washing machine. 😉
  • Smooshing the bulge.

I’ve really enjoyed reviewing Pistol Pete.   The newest pair I received is the Rookie Trunk.  And while I don’t wear trunks often, I was happy to throw these on and give them a try.  Pistol Pete always uses eye catching patterns and color combinations; the pair I received are red, white, and blue.  Perfect for July!  72% Polyester, 25% Rayon, and 3% Spandex, they felt great.

I wore these on my day off, which depending on the day can be very active or completely consumed by watching bad TV all day.  On this particular day I spent most of the day running errands and window shopping.  They were comfortable for the most part.  The pouch in front is nice and definitely provided support.  Part of the reason I don’t wear trunks often is that they tend to ride up on the legs.  These did as well, so I found myself tugging on them periodically during the day.  Of course, for someone who is used to wearing trunks this may not be an issue.  I am a big fan of underwear that has a center seam in the back like these trunks do.  A couple of times when I sat down I would feel the seam get a little tighter and the waist drop a little lower in the back.  It wasn’t uncomfortable, just not something I am used to.  The curse of having a bubble butt.

I really love the color combinations for this trunk.  The pattern makes it almost look like a pair of briefs with something underneath.  The stitching on the front center really defines the pouch.  If you like a nice defined seat then these trunk will work for you.

Pros

  • Great colors
  • Pouch front
  • Breathable fabric

Cons

  • Legs tend to ride up

Anyone who knows me and my love of underwear knows that I love the N2N brand.  They always create styles and cuts that accentuate the important parts while providing great comfort at the same time.  I received the Haze Pouch brief in blue in a size medium.   “Hand spun and dyed”, this underwear is 90% cotton 10% spandex.  And true to N2N, they were a hit with me.

Typical of many N2N lines, this brief has a pouch front.  The pouch provides support and lift, pushing the goods forward more than regular cut briefs.  When I pulled them on,  I immediately knew I would love them.  They felt great.  Throughout my work day I felt like I was almost wearing nothing, the fabric is so soft.  A couple of times I had to adjust the pouch, as it seemed to stretch a little as the day went on.

I love the patterns this brief comes in.  I got them in Indigo Blue; they also come in Sunset Yellow.  The fabric is such that it appears slightly transparent even though it is really not.

Pros

  • pouch front
  • feels good on the skin
  • fun pattern

Cons

  • pouch stretches a little

If you cannot tell that Modus Vivendi underwear from Greece has become a personal favorite of mine from our Facebook page, you must view our page.  I am simply enthralled with the look, the styles, the website, and the fun that Modus Vivendi seems to project onto their clients.

The Modus Vivendi Jean Boxer style is a great pair of boxer briefs in a dark blue fabric that resembles denim.  The boxer has leather look detailing along the front pouch area that is separated and held in place by a black cord with silver pieces on the end.  There is also a leather look Modus Vivendi label on the back where the patch on regular blue jeans is located.  This pair of underwear is listed as fetish wear on the Modus Vivendi website and is modeled after country style clothing.

The fabric consists of 95% Vicose (synonym for Rayon) and 5% Elastan and makes for a soft feel with perfect stretch and conforming abilities to provide fantastic support in all areas.  The way the pouch area is sewn creates a very nice and full look while wearing these boxer briefs.  Size X-Large was a nice fit based on European to American sizing, but not true to size as I am a true Large in undies (Size up, guys!).  There really isn’t a waistband on these boxer briefs.  The area around the waistband is a bit rigid and bunched up for my taste which led to a bit of uncomfortable feelings as I wore these.  The way this boxer brief is sewn creates the exact look of blue jeans from the rear and from the front.  The front appears to have pockets due to the way the stitching is sewn.  The paneled construction creates a nice fit that contours to the body and provides a sleek look.

Upon first inspection, the boxer is more of a squarecut boxer rather than what one thinks of when you use the word boxer, the quality was good, the dark denim blue with black leather look trim is a excellent combination, the rear consists of a couple of separate panels to provide support and definition of the rear, and the pouch size was perfect in sizing and support.  After putting this pair on, I found the pouch to create a very full look in the underwear and I loved the way the leather look pieces could be tightened and loosened to accommodate the package, or reveal it.  To be honest, the way the underwear fit and created a silhouette reminded me of how some guys really fill up their jeans in the front and the back.  I like the way the underwear is conforming and how it feels against my body as it moves with my movements.  The way the rear is paneled together in pieces allows for definition and provided a nice look.

I wore this Modus Vivendi Jean Boxer from beginning of the day until around 11:30 that night.  I began the day with my travelling to a local tourist town on Saturday morning for a weekend stay.  I shopped, ate, walked the town, went out that night, and wore these undies the entire day.  The boxer brief remained fairly comfortable the entire day.  I say that because Modus Vivendi lists this as fetish wear and I probably should not have worn it the entire day and expect it to be comfortable the whole time.  I found the waist to be a bit uncomfortable and rigid after awhile.  However, I should have worn it tied loosely and slightly open like shown on the website in the photograph Modus Vivendi has up for your viewing.

Overall, this was a nice pair of underwear.  I liked the look of the rear, the way the dark denim looked, the leather look enhancements, the feel of the fabric, the overall look of the boxer brief, the conforming nature of the pouch, and the contrasting black lace-up cord.  The price is a bit high, but fairly reasonable for this type of specialty underwear due to styling.  I think I will hand wash these since they have the special detailing and cord on them.  In general, I have no major complaints about this boxer and I enjoyed wearing them.  Now, I will have to report back with the fetish side of things….

PROS

This pair of underwear was furnished by Modus Vivendi, and may be found on their website for $43.19.

From the start, my attitude towards these “boxers” (trunks) wasn’t great, but the truly disappointing thing was that my attitude wasn’t changed once I got them on. I’m not a huge fan of trunks any longer, and these are a little bit bigger than the standard trunk. They are made of 78% nylon and 22% spandex. They come in just one color, navy and feature Unico’s “Suspensor Pouch.” My pair was an XL, which fit me a bit larger than I’d like, but on the whole, I just don’t think Unico underwear fits me well.

I wore this pair for almost an entire Saturday and I was pretty busy throughout the day. The material is Lycra but seemed much too thick and did not wick sweat away as well as I thought it might when I got them on. The overall construction is good, with the patented “upside-down Y-seam” in the back. I would say that if you’re a boxer brief kind of guy, this would more than meet your expectations.

The boxer briefs are navy and feature a silvery logo waistband which provides a nice flare of style. The other thing this boxer brief to keep its style from being incredibly boring is a unique textured pattern in the material itself.  Still, it is fairly bland style-wise and isn’t likely to blow you or your partner away with any “wow” factor. The fit seems to be held hostage by the construction and materials used. As soon as I got this pair on, I felt like I was wearing cycling shorts, not boxer briefs as the legs were extremely awkward fitting, and I think this made the “Suspensor Pouch” not as functional as it claims to be, either. My package felt cramped and uncomfortable, and I don’t feel like I was getting much support, as I was getting smashed.

In the end, I am kind of bummed. I don’t know if Mundo Unico and my body or body type just don’t gel together like they should or what, but I am disappointed to have to write such a negative review. I think if you’re a smaller framed guy who likes to wear bigger trunks that border on the boxer brief style, you should give it a try, but if you’re my size (6’4″ 225) and you like your trunks or boxer briefs, there are plenty of better options out there for you.

Pros

  • Keeps you cool and dry
  • Sturdy materials and construction

Cons

  • Awkward fit all around
  • Pouch could be bigger or more contoured
  • Lacks a “buy me!” style factor at nearly $30

These were furnished for review by Mundo Unico Store

It’s been a while since we got a set of Unico to review here at UNB. We received 5 pairs and hope to have more soon. The pair I got to review is the Boxer Medium Traje. You may ask, what pair is that? Well it’s a medium length boxer brief. If you are a long time reader you know how much I don’t like boxer briefs. However, Unico is one of those companies that I love their boxer briefs. They are form fitting and have a great pouch. The sizing for Unico is usualy a size larger.

I wore this pair to work. Granted had this been any other Boxer Brief, I would have worn it on a weekend, as not to risk the potential riding up or bunching. However, since I know Unico so well I knew it would be a great pair for the day.  It really moved and fit nice. I really, REALLY love the pouch. It gives really great support through out the day. The only down side would be, since it was so HOT here, maybe a cotton blend would have been better. However that is a minor complain.

The boxer is made very well. One thing that I loved was the silver waistband. I am big on waistband and love it when a company pays attention to them. Next, as I mentioned was the pouch. It really fit well and gave me the support I love. Lastly, it’s made out of 93% Nylon and 7% spandex, which made it fell great!

Pros:

  • Great pouch
  • Stylish waistband
  • Great for daily wear

Cons:

  • Hot to wear for summer

These could possibly be the best pair of nylon boxer briefs I have ever owned. I wore in different daily activities and every time I was very pleased with the comfort and feel of these boxer briefs. They were black nylon around the back with a lime green front that had horizontal black stripes.

While at the gym, sometimes your boxer briefs can ride up creating that thong feel. With these boxer briefs, not only do they NOT ride up, but they keep everything is place. Even when you sweat they don’t stretch out or get bunched up. While wearing them out to go out, they don’t get bunchy beneath jeans or shorts or feel itchy at all. After wearing them all day and being very active, I was extremely pleased with the fit and comfort of this pair. I washed them about 4 times this past week and the color didn’t fade or the fabric didn’t change. They still felt the same and looked the same as they did when I got them out of the package.  I would recommend these to anyone big or small

The first con may be the price. I have a feeling that this pair may be on the pricey side, but the price of comfort and being able to wear these in any situation is priceless. Sometimes more expensive is better. The other con is that you may want to order them a size up. I usually wear a large and in this pair I wore an XL and they actually fit great. So don’t be sad by getting a size larger, just know that the comfort is all worth the size.

Being a huge underwear lover and I can safely say this is the best pair of underwear I have ever owned. The fit, the comfort, the feel, the versatility is all endless. I would recommend this pair to all men big and small, young and old. I have never owned a pair where I was so happy and in love with a pair as these. I would say to get this is all colors so that you can wear them for any and every activity every day you have. Not only does is fit great but they look fantastic on you. Cupping the proper areas in the front and back and also showing off your great assets.  If you want to own the best pair you’ve ever owned, buy them today!

Pros
·         Great fit
·         Versatile to wear in any activity
·         Stretchy fabric
·         Great feel
·         Doesn’t ruin in wash
·         Cups well on certain areas

Cons
·         Pricey

This pair was furnished by the Mundo Unico Store!

Summer is in full swing and with holiday’s like Memorial Day and the Fourth of July here and gone, I was really looking for a pair of undies that I could wear out to all these great summer parties. What better way to celebrate America then by getting a pair of red, white and blue made in the USA Pistol Pete.

Pistol Pete has been a round the underwear world for a little while now, but they are one brand that I had never tried before. It is nice to see and support some of these great “Made in the USA” undies companies. When I found out I would be reviewing a few pairs of Pistol Pete I was very excited. Thought maybe these would be my summer “go to” undies.

I reviewed the Pistol Pete Pistol Brief (Red) in a size medium. When they arrived I was very excited to see the vibrant red, white and blue coloring. I immediately thought these were going to be my go to patriotic undies for the summer. The waistband is your typical 1” elastic with a red, white and blue stripe. The Pistol Pete logo is mirrored around the waistband but is smaller and does not take away from the look of the brief. The main fabric content is 97% cotton, which makes these briefs breathable on those hot summer night. The leg openings are also patriotic in red, white and blue stripped elastic. The pouch and fly are offset by a bright white as well.

The look of this brief is amazing while wearing them. They do sit a little lower on the hips, but that is the way I like to wear my undies so that did not bother me at all. These briefs also made my butt look great. The heaver elastic bands around the leg openings really helped lift and make my butt look perky. The one drawback that I really wasn’t happy with and was ultimately a deal breaker for me was the size of the pouch. I really wanted to like these briefs but the pouch was too small.  I consider myself to be a pretty average sized guy, and I felt very cramped in these. With the small pouch I could stand to wear these for a short period of time, but I don’t think I could wear them all day. I did do a little research on the Pistol Pete website and they do say “Our clothing is a contoured fit.  If you like a looser fit, we suggest you order one size larger.” So with that in mind for next time, a large might be in order.

I would recommend these undies and they are a great addition to my collection. These undies come in Red (reviewed), White and Navy Blue. I think I might have to order the white ones next to see how they compare!!

  • Made in the USA

  • Small pouch (would recommend going one size bigger)

This pair of undies was provided by Pistol Pete for review. You can purchases these for around $26 at www.pistolpete.com. Make sure you check out the rest of their collection on their website as well.

Don’t get me wrong, I love to review undies, but when I had the chance to review this undershirt, I did not want to miss out. I have had my eye on this shirt for the last year or so and had heard great things about it. A shirt that is comfortable, can help improve your health and will help you look better, I am IN!!

The Equmen Core Precision Undershirt is not just your typical body shaping undershirt. This undershirt has been proven to not only make you look great, but improve posture, reduce back pain, control body temperature and enhance over all blood flow. Now, I had my doubts, but working in a pretty physically demanding job all of these attributes sounded too good to be true.

I reviewed the Equimen Crew Neck Core Precision Undershirt in a size medium. When my shirt arrived the first thing that I noticed was the built in Physiotherapy. This is Equmen’s built in seamless support system that helps support the areas of your body to improve posture and reduce back pain. I also noticed the streamline look of the undershirt. The fabric was also something that stood out. The polyester nylon spandex mix was stretchy but durable.

When I put this shirt on, the first thing that I noticed was how hard it was to get positioned correctly on the body. This is not a “slip it on quick” type shirt. I think it took me a good couple of minutes to get the shirt on and positioned correctly. However, once I got the shirt on, I could tell that it was going to be something worth wearing. I wore this shirt for the first time to work. It did help with the added support and controlling my body temperature and I did see a slight improvement in my back pain at the end of the day. This shirt kept me cool and lived up to everything that it claimed it would. Taking off the shirt was almost as much of a task as putting it on as well. I have since worn this shirt under dress shirts to help me look a little trimmer, and to the gym. This is a great all around shirt and if they were not so pricy, I would have a drawer full of them. The $99 price tag is the biggest drawback.

I would recommend this undershirt for those people that have posture and back problems or work in a very physically demanding job. If you are just looking for a good undershirt this is a good, but pricy option. This style come in a singlet, v-neck or crew neck cuts and come in white, black, and Slate (grey).

PROS:

  • Great Support
  • Very Comfortable
  • Great for wicking moisture and controlling body temperature

CONS:

  • Price ($99 for the style I reviewed)
  • Hard to put on and take off
