Me reviewing a boxer? Yep, it’s happening. Ok, so it’s not your conventional boxer. Candyman is a fun playful line of underwear. So in keeping with their brand this boxer is mostly mesh. It is basically all black mesh (96% Nylon, 4% Spandex) except for some piping along the legs and waistband. The same fabric is used for the pouch. It is made of stretch cotton. The pair I received was a green camouflage print. It also comes in a blue plaid. To be upfront as much as I loved the comfort of this garment I was not too excited about the all day adjusting I had to do while wearing it.

I think this is more of a boxer brief then boxer since its design mimics a boxer brief. The fabric is nice quality. Sometimes mesh can be itchy. Is this one? Nope. Sometimes mesh can be soft be cheap and tear easily. Is this one? Nope. Sometimes piping can be sewn incorrectly and not have stretch. This pair never felt constricting around the legs. Even big brands can mess up piping.  One big brand made a pair with piping that I thought was gonna cut my thigh open. I found the nearest pair of scissors and cut the piping. I walked around for a while with just this on. My boyfriend liked the view of my butt encased in mesh but then I had to pull them up as they were slipping down over my bubble butt. Did I get sent a large by accident? After checking the tag (which I had already cut out- ugh- i hate tags.) i saw i had a medium. I know I have been trimmed an inch or more off my waist at the gym. I have also made my giant butt and thighs even bigger. So why are these falling off?

My boyfriend wears boxers sometimes so I ask him, “Is this how these are supposed to fit?”  He told me I was just being too picky. (NEWSFLASH: I am always this picky.) I took them off and he tried them on. He was all-confident that they fit fine until he started walking and they slipped down. Ah ha! I wasn’t being picky. So to make a long story short (too late) the issue for us was the size and the waistband. There isn’t a normal elastic band that would cling to your waist. There is only the piping trim. Mesh material is very forgiving normally because it can adjust and cling to your body. Without the waist being tight enough it just hung, drooped and slipped.

9684(2) 9684(3) 9684(4)

Aside from the waistband the quality of the garment is really great. Mesh can be one of the hardest materials to sew correctly. It snags easily in a machine. And surging mesh seams can show mistakes easily. So this seems to be another case of not having the right size.  If you are gonna order this to show off your butt cheeks (mesh covered butt is a hot look) get a size smaller than you would normally.

And this is another reason why this bubble butt reviewer sticks to wearing thongs. Maybe Candyman can make a line of fun undies for the big booty fellow. If they do they should call it Bubble by Candyman. I usually like the playfulness if Candyman’s design so I was sad about the poor fit but my misfortune is your gain. Order a size smaller!

Pros:

  • Soft mesh
  • Nice Craftsmanship
  • Fun Design

Cons:

  • No waistband to keep it up

MBM05_0005__25988.1350497308.1200.1200It’s cold weather and you know what that means, right? Layers. Once that first chill hits my spine I start wearing thermals all the time. Most of my thermals are the waffle cotton kind from Kmart. They aren’t the most well designed pieces of clothing but they sure keep me warm. The fit is always a little off because the crotch is too low. The calves are too tight and with my hairy legs it just becomes really itchy. I spend all day pulling the waistband up. Even though they are considered long underwear I still feel like I meed to wear underwear underneath because they don’t give me the support I need to be comfortable. So even though I am warm, I am often substituting warmth for comfort wearing these long johns.

Malebasics to the rescue. Kind of..The Malebasics Microfiber Long John offers everything a guy needs in a long john. This garment offers complete comfort. They use one of the softest fabrics, Microfiber (Nylon 78% Spandex 12%), I was so relaxed in them all day. The only issue I had was that these long johns is that they aren’t for those days when its freezing out. These are perfect for a cool fall or spring day. They aren’t really for the dead of winter. The main reason is because its made of Microfiber. You have probably heard of Microfiber is often used for athletic wear because the material wicks moisture away from the body, keeping the wearer cool and dry. Microfiber is also very elastic, making it suitable for undergarments. I found the material really comfortable but I wasn’t as warm as I would have wanted.

The design is really exceptional. This is basically cut like a really comfortable brief. The pouch is lifts you up and out. Really shows off a bulge nicely. Usually, like I said before, a long john squashes you flat. I never felt like I needed to wear another pair of underwear underneath. It was so nice and soft on my body. It was so comfortable that I even slept in them. I never needed to readjust myself. In fact, I actually forgot what I was wearing under my jeans at one point because I was so comfortable. I have hairy legs and often get itchy with tight materials around my calves. These long johns are cut to hug you until about the knee. The design is then loose around your lower legs with an elastic bottom at the ankle. At first I thought that the looseness was strange and then I realize its exactly what I needed. The design is like a modified sweat pant that hugs and supports you in all the best areas. I got the pair in white which is slightly transparent but I didn’t mind. I will definitely be picking up the black pair as well from their site. With spring coming I still like to wear layers when the cool night NYC breeze hits me. These long johns will definitely be a regular in my underwear collection.

And maybe Malebasics will offer them in more colors soon? Gray? Nude? Red? Blue? Yellow? Please. Thank you.

Yes, I am the thong guy. But sometimes I like to wear a sexy brief. I was excited to do this review, because I always wanted to try Cocksox. I have always loved the images Cocksox produces for their underwear. Let’s be honest- Australian men are hot. They seem to all have amazing beach ready bodies. So mix the sexy male Australian body with a sexy underwear brand and what do you get? A must have for every guy that likes to wear sexy, well designed and great quality underwear.

Made from 94% Cotton 6% Lycra this brief is very brief. If this is a brief I wanna move to Australia. I would consider this a bikini. There are so many great aspects to it. The brief doesn’t have an over designed waistband. Its just a piece of elastic surged to the fabric. I think the big fad of branding a logo on the waistband has really gotten out of hand. Plus these large waistbands tend to fold up during the day needing to be readjusted. The simplicity of this design is one of my favorite aspects. Many of my friends make fun of me because almost all my clothes are striped. I don’t know why but I just love stripes. Striped fabric is a great way to tell if the designer and manufacturer can match the grain of the fabric. If the stripes line up at the seams then you can bet that its a better quality. I loved the red and black striped Cocksox. Both of my favorite things, stripes and underwear, together make me a happy camper! And you know what my favorite thing about this “brief” is? NO ANNOYING SCRATCHY TAG! Well, that is not entirely true because there is one sewn flat to the front. It doesn’t touch the skin so I don’t count it as a tag. It’s just a brand label. Thankfully, the Australian brand  just put an iron on tag in the back interior. I can not stand tags and hate hate hate them. So— thank you Cocksox.

The underwear itself is made from three pieces of fabric. Two pieces make up the front. The center seam is nicely put together and flat. The back is just one piece of fabric and is really well sewn together. They spent just as much time finishing the inside. Sometimes manufacturers skimp on the details and when you go to put a pair on you accidentally rip some of the finishes. I did my regular test and wore them to the gym. I got lots of stares since there was a large protruding bulge in my shorts. Everyone likes attention. And I loved it and also didn’t experience any of the crotch discomfort, squishing, or pain I felt wearing other similar brands.  I knew with my big butt and the underwear’s little rear that they were going to ride up. To my total surprise it wasn’t the wedgy where after a few deep lunges it became a thong. Yes, the rode up a bit but then they stayed in place and really hugged my cheeks. It probably has to do with the great finishes to the legs and waist. So the front is Cocksox and the back was Buttsox. It is a great pair of Sox.

Every guy needs to buy this pair. Let me know when you do if you like them as much as I do.

Pros

  • fun pattern
  • Soft fabric
  • Fantastic design
  • Quality manufacturing

Cons

  • I could have used a couple more inches of butt coverage but some people like cheeks hanging out.

Cocksox furnished this pair for review. The CX01 is available for $28 at their site.

I don’t always get to review the underwear after wearing it several times. Many times my opinion on a product can change after its been put in the washing machine. Some fabrics doesn’t hold up and some fray. So I am able to tell you all about this great bikini and give you feedback on it after washing it.

The Male Power Herringbone Mustang Bikini has become my new pajamas. When I first wore them I was first impressed with the fabric used for the bikini. It’s a knit Herringbone made of 85% Nylon, 15% Spandex. It’s super soft and feel great on the skin. It’s basically a loose knit piece of fabric in a herringbone pattern. Guys- if you haven’t felt a knit as your underwear this is the perfect one. It’s breathable and so comfortable. Sometime our sexy underwear is not the most comfortable to wear to bed.

I even wore it to the gym and loved it. Most bikinis tend to ride up my butt cheeks and never stay in place. This rear design is great and stays in place. The only issue I had was the big itchy tag sticking into my crack. Just cut it out and its fine. Why do underwear companies still insist on putting big tags in underwear? Especially itchy ones?!

Pros –

  • Great design
  • Great quality knit fabric
  • Comfortable to sleep in

Con’s –

  • Itchy tag!

It’s always fun to try new brands. It can be a little frustrating because men’s designer underwear isn’t cheap. A brief from one brand can be cut completely different from another brand. So when we find a brand that fits our body we stick with it. I get that. I don’t like wearing many brands briefs or bikinis because if the fit isnt right i end up with a wedgy as soon as I start walking. Its the bubble butt curse. It’s a huge reason why I primarily wear thongs. There is nothing worse than having to adjust your underwear.

No Limits is not a brand I was familiar with. I had never worn them before. When my red Low Rise briefs (also available in black) pair came in the mail to review it came in a reusable black zip canvas pouch. The canvas pouch has already been assimilated into my everyday life. It now holds my gym lock, deodorant, and small bottle of saline solution for my contacts. The uses are endless for this canvas pouch especially because the pouch is left plain and not branded. There are literally no limits to its potential (yes folks, that pun was intended). It might not be the most effective marketing for the brand but it is definitely “green” with the idea of reusing packing for everyday life.

I will admit when I first held the pair up I was a little nervous about my comfort level with the cut of the rear of the brief. It’s not a conventional full cut for the seat. It’s more of a french cut. I immediately thought this was going to end up becoming a thong. I went to the gym in a loose pair of shorts thinking the back of the brief was going to ride up. And it was cardio day so if this brief was going to be tested it would be on my cardio day.  The polyester/ spandex is super soft and really comfortable. The brief’s pouch was a perfect fit and offered great support. I was surprised that the brief’s rear didn’t ride up. I was totally shocked. I loved the overall comfort level. I forgot what underwear I was even wearing. That’s how light and airy they felt. I would definitely wear more of their briefs and I never want to wear briefs. If their briefs are this comfortable I would love to try their thongs.

No Limits has a new fan.

Pros –

  • Great design
  • Great quality
  • Super comfortable

Con’s –

  • Sincerely, I have no complaints.

Wanna know a secret? I love wearing leather. It’s true. I love underwear but I also love the feeling of putting on a leather garment. I don’t wear many jocks though it seems lately I have been getting a bunch. So now I can add a leather jockstrap to my growing collection. For those of you that have never worn leather let me break this down for you in a very PG rated way. There are groups of people that love wearing leather as a fetish/lifestyle. It’s primarily associated with gay men but there is also a large straight population as well. Within this leather community there are people usually more dominant and more submissive in nature. The leather garments they wear often illustrate their power role. The Leather Pouch Jockstrap is basic enough that it could be worn by anyone regardless of their role. And here is the best part: It’s a really comfortable jockstrap.

Now I don’t recommend wearing this jock to work out in but I did wear it all day long with no discomfort. The jockstrap is made from black elastic with the leather pouch. The leather pouch comes in a variety of colors, the pair I reviewed was black leather. The other color options are yellow, red, blue, grey and white. The elastic waistband is 2 inches wide. It’s just regular elastic. Its not super soft or scratchy but it is a little stiff and will soften often time. The straps are one inch wide. It’s very much a regular jockstrap. The pouch is made from two pieces of leather that has a center seam down the front. There is plenty of room in the pouch. I should also mention that the quality of the leather is really nice.

There was one tiny snag with jockstrap. During the day I went to pull up the waistband and heard a rip. That’s when I realized that the one seam attaching the top of the pouch to the elastic waistband had ripped on the side. The pouch began to separate from the waistband a bit. It was totally my fault for trying to yank it higher up. However, even though I ripped the seam the garment didn’t fall apart. The separated  side was only half an inch long and didn’t continue to rip even more. It’s hardly noticeable. And anyone with a sewing machine can easily fix it. I wouldn’t say that my accident is because of the products poor craftsmanship but I would recommend that Jock’s by RJ consider double stitching the stretch stitch on the pouch to the waistband.

The pricing for leather products can be ridiculous. As much as I would love to get more and more the truth is, I have rent to pay.  I recommend this brand. If you are new to leather then this is a great economical brand to begin exploring with. They also can custom make any order you place. For example on their website it says, “if you are hard to fit because you have a small waist and large legs, you can just give us your measurements and we’ll make sure your items fit perfectly.  No more worries about whether online items will fit.” There is also more than just leather and jockstraps available. I cant wait to try some of their different thongs.

Pros-

  • Great quality leather
  • Comfortable design

Cons-

  • Seam ripped

There is nothing better than a wearing a fun swimsuit that is eye catching. The Manus Men’s Swim Brief offers fun style and great comfort. If you are in the market for a new swimsuit and want to get lots of attention then you should pay attention to this review. The bold print I am reviewing is the Tropical Leopard. At first glance it seems like its a bit much for a mens swimsuit but sometimes our wardrobe needs some whimsy. A rainbow confection animal print. It’s Lisa Frank meets Jersey Housewives.

There is a vintage feel to the design of the swimsuit. This is a full brief swimsuit. And I say full brief because today’s trend for swimsuits tend to be a lower cut on the waist and a higher cut on the thigh. The 3 inch side seams with full wide front and back coverage evoke an old school chic look for the beach or pool. The fast drying material is a Polyester and Spandex blend. The front is fully lined in a nude color of the same material. The waistband does not have a drawstring so if you are gonna go jump in waves be warned. I don’t foresee that to be too much of an issue since the fit at the waist is perfect. My only real issue with the design was the lack of tightness around the legs. I prefer a brief to stay in place a little more securely.  All I needed was a thin piece of elastic around the legs to keep the back in place.

I was definitely noticed at the gym when i swam my laps and hopped in the jacuzzi wearing this bathing suit. I got a few compliments from guys asking where I got it. I was surprised to see how receptive guys were being about such a bold print. Normally after the jacuzzi I sit in the sauna hoping my bathing suit with dry a bit before I throw it into my bag. I was really surprised by how dry the suit got in such a short period of time. So for the guys that hate putting your shorts over a wet bathing suit at the beach you should check this brand out.

The summer might be over but it’s always a good time to stock up on fun swimwear. Go for it guys!

Pros-

  • Bold print
  • Classic design
  • Fast drying

Cons-

  • Leg elastic could be tighter

There has always been a market for fetish wear in the underwear community for men. Over the last few years I have noticed a new trend in designs. Functional underwear design and fetish wear design are merging together. The Modus Vivendi Denim Look Brief is an example of this trend and I was lucky enough to review it and have to admit that even though I wear mostly thongs there is nothing sexier than putting in a great brief. This sporty brief, part of Modus Vivendi’s Fishermen Collection, with a football pant inspired cross lace front is definitely a great addition to my underwear collection.

There is no denying the main design on this brief is to accent your crotch. Tie the cotton cords tight or leave it lose. The versatility of the look depends on how much you wanna show off. The lace ties are accented by a border of leather looking material. There is definitely a visual accent to the crotch by these vertical black accents. But there is more design that just peek a boo pubes. Keeping with the denim look of the briefs there is a cute plastic appliqué to the rear waistband that mimics the label on a pair of Levis.

The softness of fabric, made of 95% Vicose (Rayon) and 5% Elastan, provides a pleasurable experience to wear the garment all day.  Here is a tip: If you are gonna wear these briefs under your jeans all day then leave the ties loose. The leather look material rubs aggressively in your skin if the ties are tied tights. After sitting at my desk for a few hours I had to loosen the ties for more comfort. I also found the ties to be a little too long so I just cut a few inches off.

I had never worn a pair by this brand before. I have found that when an underwear brand markets itself to cater to the fetish community there tends to be a cheapness to the production value. The materials, design and finish of a garment for high quality fetish wear can really break your bank. This brief is fun, functional and is affordable.

If I were to continue with the rest of my review of this brief then we would need to post it on a more adult website. Let’s just say that the lace in the front got loose. Very loose. And I dont think I have more fun with a pair of briefs on. 🙂

Pros-

  • Sexy design
  • Soft fabric
  • Looks great on

Cons-

  • Leather like fabric abrasive on skin

I was tweeting one day and Obviously replied and asked if I had a pair of their thongs. I told them that I didn’t and a few tweets later I am here reviewing their Low Rise Thong from the Chromatic Collection. It’s not everyday that a underwear manufacturer wants me to wear their thongs. It would be a a dream if every company asked me to wear their thong. So to the tweeter at Obviously: Thank You!

So flash forward to me getting my first pair from Obviously. A nice blue pair. As soon as I took the pair out of the plastic wrap I was surprised by how soft the fabric was. You often read online a description of the underwear fabric. Many times it says how soft the material is. When the underwear arrives in the mail you find out it’s as soft as cardboard. And then you wash it and it turns into a piece of starched felt. Giggle all you want but you know it’s true.

The design is basic but very well executed. The low rise waistband is a soft smooth elastic that fit me perfectly. No muffin top or residual elastic imprint after removing the garment. Isn’t that the worst? You feel sexy in a pair of underwear and then you take it off to see a red imprint in your skin. Some would say that I need to go up a size but if I did they would be too big. I wear my thongs to work out all the time and I hate when it’s time to get in the shower and have skin ripples cause of a tight thong. Obviously is so luxuriously soft and comfortable that it seems like it was tailored to my body. The thong consists of a pouch that is hemmed independently of the thong strap. Many brands include a thin piece of elastic in the pouch’s hemmed. This thong doesn’t have it and doesn’t need it. I felt very supported without feeling an elastic press against my skin. To our readers that have a large package you will be comforted to know that the elasticity and cut of the pouch will be very accommodating to your needs.

I actually had to do laundry before writing this review. I have reviewed several pairs that have pilled or started to fray after the initial washing. I was worried that the soft fabric would become generic blah. You have to understand that I am not into separating my clothes and special washing instructions for underwear ridiculous. It’s underwear. The laundry is just everything in the wash and dry it all together. Congrats goes to Obviously for passing my laziness laundry skills. If Obviously keeps up their craftsmanship for produced high quality underwear, I will be a fan for life.

If you are new to thongs or are a avid thong guy, I highly recommend Obviously as must have purchase for your collection.

I have a hard time finding a good swimsuit because I have a very large set of buttocks. It’s true. It’s part of the reason why I primarily wear thongs as underwear. A few summers ago I finally decided to switch from board shorts to swim briefs and bikinis. I have had a hard time finding a pair that would stay in place. Usually after a few minutes the swimsuit would start riding up. The last thing you want to do is pick a wedgie when you are trying to look cute on the beach. I even bought into the hype of a new brand last summer. On a trip to Miami last year I spent most of the time adjusting a swimsuit I spent way too much money on.

So imagine my skeptical attitude when I got to review a swimsuit from Vuthy. The pair was featured in UNB’s Guide to Swimwear this year. I loved the print. A fun houndstooth in black and white made of 80% Nylon, 20% Spandex. The fabric is super stretchy and light on the skin. The instant I tried them on I was pleasantly surprised by comfort level. This is really a great design. The back of the swimsuit was fully covering me. I decided to start testing it out and walked around a bit. The suit stayed in place and I loved it. The waist fit great as did the piping around the legs.

I have worn them a few times. There is a jacuzzi as my gym I have relaxed in wearing them. It’s great when a swimsuit is so comfortable that you feel naked when trying to relax. I have also wore this swimsuit to the beach a few times. I have gotten more compliments on this bathing suit then I ever remember getting at the beach. And the best part, I never had to adjust a wedgy. I did wish that there a bit more of a contoured shape to the front pouch. I found it to be a little bit flattening but not to the point I was uncomfortable.

I will definitely be adding more Vuthy swimwear to my collection next summer.

Pros –

  • Great fit in the rear.
  • Great fabric and bold print

Con’s –

  • A hand wash only swimsuit. I still threw it in the washing machine. 😉
  • Smooshing the bulge.

Hey UNB readers! Its me again. And it’s another thong review. I know you love reading about thongs so I wont delay anymore and just get to it. In the mail came another MaleBasics thong. This particular thong is the Malebasics Micro Fiber V-string Thong. I got a red pair. This is actually a great thong and I think the photos and description on their website don’t really display the material this thong is made from. Sure it states that its made from brushed micro-fiber (Nylon 78% Spandex 22%). If you read that would you really know what that means? Me either.

So I opened the packaged and was surprised to see that the pouch was made from a material that is identical to the gym shorts with the perforated holes. We all have a pair of these shorts. I always slip them on for the gym or a hot summer night in my NYC apartment. Now imagine a thong made from it. Genius. It’s soft and is very breathable.

The pouch is made from this great material. Its got a nice curve to the pouch and offered lots of room. The waistband and thong strap are thin elastic in a matching color. The back has a cute touch to the thong. A triangle piece of the brushed micro-fiber sits nicely in the middle of the back connecting the thong strap and waistband.

My one complaint about this item was the thong strap. Since the thong is available in only two sizes (S/M and L/XL) its not as forming fitting as a thong that is truly the size you need. I found the thong strap to be slightly shorter than what I would consider comfortable. I am sure after some wear and tear it will stretch more to fit me better.

Pros –

  • Great fabrication
  • Nice pouch design

Con’s –

  • Thong strap could be longer
  • Sizing options

I always get excited when there is a package in the mail from Tim. It means one thing- more new thongs to try out. Sometimes I am displeased and other times I find a great new thong.  I opened this package and giggled because the thong that was sent was the last color of a style I have been collecting on my own. The N2N Net G-String is one of my favorites. I have already written in my reviews about my love of N2N thong designs. They are really a perfect fit for my body. I already had the tan, white and olive pairs. Now I have the black pair as well.

If you read my thong reviews then I don’t want to repeat myself in terms of the cut, design, and finishing skills that N2N executes with their underwear. In case you haven’t read my review of the LA Haze thong here it is: http://www.underwearnewsbriefs.com/2012/06/review-n2n-bodywear-la-haze/. I am pretty positive that the pattern used to create the Net G is identical.

I wear these thongs for many purposes. It’s always a great item for the beach. No, I a, not saying I wear this by itself. Sometimes when I go away I wear it under soccer or gym shorts. It offers great support and also fast drying so its the perfect “lining” when you have run out of clean swimsuits. I also wear them when I am going to work out. No one wants a sweaty crotch. This pair offers a well ventilated solution when you are doing an extreme workout. I also make it the go to pair when I am going to Bikram yoga.

My only issue is the use of 100% polyester net as the main material. If you wear the thong straight out of the package it can be itchy. The stiff material is easily made comfortable after washing it. So boys- I would recommend this thong for multiple uses but wash it first to soften the material.

Thanks N2N and Tim for completing my collection of this style!

This thong is unique because each pair has a unique in its pattern design. The L.A. haze G thong from N2N is hand spun and dyed and is available in two colors Indigo Blue and Sunset Yellow. I was given the Sunset Yellow pair to review. The hue of the yellow is rich and bright without being neon. The thong is made from 90% cotton and 10% spandex. It’s a really great soft feeling cotton with lots of stretch.

I always love wearing a comfortable thong to the gym. I prefer to not have to adjust my underwear while working out. There is nothing worse than being in the middle of a set and your underwear becomes uncomfortable to the point of distraction. If you are a guy like me that loves wearing a support pair with freedom for leg movements then you should definitely try this thong. I know that many of you don’t wear thongs. Some might wear them in the privacy of your home and would never want to be caught wearing one at the gym. Let me try to change your mind.

I probably own about over 200 hundred pairs of underwear at this point. Most of my collection is briefs and thongs. I probably wear a thong 4 times a week on average. Every time I get a new pair I compare it to my favorite thong of all time. N2N previously made a thong called the Odyssey. The L.A. Haze G is the exact same model. I know many thong lovers on the internet have expressed their love for the Odyssey. I have even read some bloggers that are not normal fans of a thong singing its praise. For some reason N2N decided to change the name. The design and cut of this garment is exactly the same. I can’t see any reason to change the name but they did. Instead of the grey tones previously offered now we get it two great bold tie dyed colors. It’s summer time now boys so pick up the fun colors before they are discontinued as well.

The design itself is simplistic and so comfortable on the body. A nice wide front and a generous t-back make it appropriate to wear as underwear or even a swimsuit if you are comfortable enough. The pouch is 3 dimensional. It lifts you up and forward with squishing you to pieces. There is nothing worse than a thong that applies pressure and flattens the bulge. The strap is the perfect width with plenty of stretch to ensure comfort.

My final advice- buy it. Buy it now. Buy 20 pairs. You won’t regret it. Trust me on this one!

Pros –

  • Great fabrication
  • Great fit
  • Close to naked feeling

Cons –

  • Not enough color options

I am reviewing the Malebasics Micro Thong. This thong comes in four colors (red, black, turquoise, and white.) and I reviewed the white pair. The contoured low-rise design of the pouch is made of a brushed Micro-Fiber material (Nylon 85% Spandex 15%). I usually prefer the pouch to be made from one piece of fabric with the lower half sewn together to form the cup of the pouch. This thong pouch is made from two pieces of fabric. A vertical seam is in the front. It is a thin material that is soft to the touch. It also breathes well to insure comfort during the day. The waistband and thong strap are thin pieces of elastic that have a great amount of stretch.

The description of this product online stated that it is great for active life. I decided to do an extra hard work out at the gym to test their statement. I spent about two hours doing cardio, weights and stretching. I have to be honest and tell you that it seemed like. Was naked under my gym shorts. I hardly felt any underwear the entire time I was going through my sets and routine. Normally if you sit in a thong too long the strap in the back can begin to feel tighter. I never once had to adjust the waistband or the strap. When i was in the locker room the pouch had been pulled lower than where it started. I also wish the front seam had more of a curve to the design to avoid the flattening that occurred in the pouch. Now keep in mind that since this garment is made as a small/medium there are going to be different experiences with fit in each person. The rest of the day I decided to keep the thong on.  The material is so lightweight i wasn’t wearing a sweat soaked pair of underwear. I just held it under a hand dryer and it was dry in minutes. (Yet another advantage of wearing a thong!!!!) The rest of the day I walked around doing errands before finally heading home. I  relaxed on my couch in just my thong. This is definitely going to be something i wear to stay cool when the hot summers of NYC start. I slept in it as well and woke up under my covers thinking i was naked.  Malebasics needs to rename it “almost naked thong”.

I really enjoyed the ease of this thong. You put it on and never need to fix or fiddle with the strap or pouch. Visually I was displeased with the placement of the tag on the inside of the pouch. Since the fabric is white and also very thin the label is visible through the front. Simple solution was just cutting the label out. This seems to be an issue with many thongs I review. There just never seems to be a consistent solution for the tag when it comes to designing thongs for men. The little details I didn’t like are all just personal preference and should deter you from picking up this sexy thong. Who doesn’t like putting on a pair of underwear and feeling like they are naked. It’s a great thong for every guy out there.

Pros

  • Soft fabric
  • All day comfort

Cons

  • Tag placement
  • Pouch drooped a bit while working out.

I am reviewing this fantastic Glory String thong by Gregg Homme. This black thong is made of 76% Nylon and 24% Spandex. The waistband and straps around the pouch has the look of rubber or leather. The straps framing the pouch fit perfectly. It seemed as if I had gone to a fitting to have this underwear built for me because the waistband was such a perfect fit. The thong strap was another piece of spandex but with a matte finish and  has more stretch to it than the waistband. The pouch is a very thin and luxuriously soft spandex and seemed like it was a miliskin spandex but the label doesn’t specify. Overall, the materials were a great combination to create this thong. The first thing i did was remove the big white tag sticking out of the back of the waistband. Its easy to rip off and I suggest you do that before wearing them.

So when I put on this thong it immediately felt like it was a second skin and I was going to really put it to the test. First stop was the gym. I did my usual routine of weights, core and running. It doesn’t happen often but I forgot that I had on this thong. The pouch is so soft and stretchy that I never needed to adjust and it is engineered to really hold you in place. After the gym I had tickets to see an Off Broadway show. This is usually the real test for me with a thong. If I can sit through two and a half hours without any discomfort than I know a thong is a keeper and it passed this test. After the show I spent a few hours hanging out with friends before heading home. If Gregg Homme made more color options I might just wear this style everyday. When I got home there was more activity with the thong but this isn’t that kind of site. But let’s just say everyone liked it.

Every guy who is an underwear enthusiast should have own some staple brands in their collection. Some might be more expensive than others but I can’t urge you more to make sure that you have at least one pair of Gregg Homme’s underwear in your drawer. As a man that wears thongs I have always admired the collections they design. There is a masculinity in their work even when it is just a few skimpy straps. I can be very picky when it comes to my thongs. They need to be comfortable, well designed, made from good materials and the craftsmanship needs to be excellent. The Glory String is all that and it still conveys a sensual masculinity. This is not my first pair of Gregg Homme and it certainly won’t be my last.
Pros

  • Great materials
  • Great design
  • Very comfortable

Cons

  • It only comes in one color.
  • Tag sewn into back of waistband could be eliminated or made smaller.

I got to review another pair of the Male Basics lace underwear. I enjoyed the last pair MaleBasics and was excited to try another. This time the review Male Basics Triple Lace Thong. Its a lace front pouch with thin multiple elastic straps that make up the waistband. A single thong strap attaches to all three waistbands in the back. The pair was black (which is my favorite color!). I think this is a very sexy pair of underwear

Since the last pair was so comfortable I figured I would wear them to work all day. Spending 9 hours of sitting at a desk in a comfortable pair of underwear and then test them out at the gym. Its not often that I find a pair of underwear to be so uncomfortable that I have to take them off. After 6 hours they came off. This underwear is very hot but it is not a pair that you could wear for a long time. They are more suited as a pair of lingerie that you put on with the intent of taking them off quickly. Hopefully someone else is removing them off of you. Wink wink.

I had to readjust the thong strap several times because it was too short for a comfortable fit. When elastic is as thin as it was in this underwear it has a tendency to dig into the skin more when it is tight and this to be the case with the thong strap. Some people would think I needed to get a bigger size but the waist fit perfectly. The pouch offered less room than I needed. Perhaps if Male Basics continues to offer this product they would reconsider the length of the strap and use more lace in the front for guys that need more room.

Buy this if you want to turn your partner on. Just don’t sit at your desk too long wearing it.

Pros-

  • Sexy design
  • Fun Waistband

Cons-

  • Short thong strap
  • Flatted pouch

The Malebasics Lace Micro Thong V-String is a great pair of underwear. I received the black and red pair to review. The waistband is a wide 2 inch piece of soft black lace. The actual pouch and thong strap are a red nylon/spandex blend. (85% Nylon 15% Spandex.) The materials are very soft.

Now I know many of you aren’t the type that wear thongs on a regular basis. The thought of wearing a lace thong might just seem even stranger and too feminine. If you strip the preconceived notions of what is masculine versus feminine you might be surprised by the likability of wearing this garment. Women wear lace often because it is a soft fabric. So why shouldn’t men get the chance to feel soft luxurious fabrics against their skin. The day I decided to wear this pair for my review I sat at my desk at work and ran errands after in NYC. This invovled some serious walking around several neighborhoods so I definitely had a chance to put these to the test.

The design of the underwear is very simplistic. The pouch is two pieces of fabrics with a front middle seam and the thong strap is attached at the base of the pouch. I prefer my underwear to not have a seam in the center of the pouch. Malebasics only offers this thong is two sizes (s/m and l/xl). I found that the front seam didn’t bother me as it normally does because the size of the underwear was larger than what I normally would get. The length of the strap was also nice. There was never a need to adjust the pouch or thong during the day.  The width of the waistband was a little too wide. Since the fabric is so soft there is little structure to stop it from folding. Under my jeans it stayed flat for the duration of the day but later when I got home and decided to relax on my couch in just the underwear I noticed that it was folding. The waistband is so soft that I was happy to realize I hardly felt it on my skin.

I don’t think I would wear these to the gym. I say this not because they are very feminine looking but solely based on the sizing. They are very comfortable to wear under jeans but I don’t think they would be very supportive while working out at the gym. Would I wear them again? Sure. I don’t think I would make them a regular pair I pull out of my drawer but they will definitely be worn at some point again when I just want to look sexy while I lounge around.

Pros

  • Soft fabrics
  • Fun color blocking
  • Good design and manufacturing

Cons

  • Front seam in pouch
  • Dual sizing ratio

I love getting new thongs to try and was eager to spend a day wearing the Ryocco thong. The fabric is a great soft feeling fabric. It was great to wear to the gym because it was so light. I loved the black, grey and white camo print that the thong was made out of.

The design has some great things and some not so great things. I would have recommended any person that is interested in trying a thing to try this one because if the design if the back of the garment. Most thongs are a skimpy back and most guys would be embarrassed if they were caught “whale tailing” out of the back of their jeans. The Ryocco thong is designed with coverage on the back that looks like you might be wearing briefs if your underwear was peeking out of the waistband of your pants. It sounds a little strange to say but i would describe this design as a full coverage thong.

I normally wear thongs very often to i was surprised when i noticed that when i was at the gym i had a bit of discomfort with the actual strap of the thong. My only complaint would be that the strap is too wide. While i was working out i felt the strap fold in half. It wasn’t so uncomfortable that i was miserable but i did have to dig in my gym shorts to adjust it.

Would i wear it again? Yes. I don’t know if i would wear it to work out in again. I would wear it on a night on the town under my jeans. As a matter if fact its time to get dressed to go out……..

PROS

  • Soft fabric
  • Fun print
  • Full coverage in the back

CONS

  • Thong strap too wide
